Image File
Original HTML

Partnership accelerates healthcare innovation by connecting real-world hospital needs with technology expertise

SINGAPORE, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and the National University Hospital (NUH), through its Kent Ridge Office of Innovation (KROI), have signed a Memorandum of Intent (MOI), marking IMDA's first Open Innovation Platform (OIP) partnership with a public healthcare institution. The partnership aims to accelerate healthcare innovation by connecting real-world challenges faced by healthcare professionals with technology innovators who can develop and test practical solutions.

Established in April 2024, KROI works closely with clinical and operational teams across NUH to identify areas where innovation can enhance care delivery, patient experience and operational efficiency. This partnership brings together NUH's clinical and operational expertise with IMDA's OIP network of approximately 21,000 innovators and solution providers, including startups, technology firms, and research institutions. It also supports Singapore's National AI Strategy (NAIS) to drive AI innovation and adoption in key sectors such as healthcare.

Turning healthcare challenges into practical solutions

By focusing on needs identified by healthcare professionals rather than technology alone, NUH can tap on the expertise across the OIP network to identify, evaluate and pilot promising solutions that address its priority healthcare challenges and make a meaningful difference to patients and healthcare staff in a real-world hospital setting. The MOI has already seen the launch of its first healthcare-themed innovation challenge seeking AI-enabled solutions to help identify fall hazards in patients' homes earlier and at scale, with Calls for Applications (CFAs) closing in November 2026.

Since its launch in 2018, IMDA's OIP has facilitated more than 450 innovation challenges and supported over S$25 million in prize funding, helping organisations tap external technology expertise to address business and operational needs.

Dr Ling Zheng Jye, Head of the Kent Ridge Office of Innovation, said: "Healthcare innovation is most impactful when it addresses real needs on the ground. Through the Open Innovation Platform, we can engage a broad community of innovators to tackle challenges identified by our clinicians and operational teams, creating new opportunities to develop and test solutions that can benefit both patients and healthcare professionals."

Mr. Alvin Kang, Director of Innovation at IMDA, said: "In support of Singapore's National AI Strategy, we are bringing IMDA's open innovation capabilities into healthcare, and creating opportunities for technology companies to apply their expertise to real clinical and operational challenges. By working with NUH through our Open Innovation Platform, we want to help turn promising innovations into practical solutions that can improve healthcare delivery."

A foundation for future collaboration

The IMDA-NUH partnership builds on KROI's broader efforts to strengthen ties across Singapore's innovation ecosystem. These include collaborations with organisations such as the National University of Singapore and academic publisher Elsevier, as well as the launch of the NUH Innovation Hub earlier this year, which supports the development, evaluation and implementation of staff-led innovations, including MedBot, NUH's AI-powered virtual pharmacy assistant.

Building on this momentum, NUH plans to launch innovation challenges on IMDA's OIP in March, July and October each year. These regular challenge calls will provide opportunities for technology innovators to develop and pilot solutions in response to priority areas identified by the hospital, thereby creating additional avenues for collaboration between healthcare providers and industry.

Non-GAAP Financial Measures We present non-GAAP performance and liquidity measures as we believe it is appropriate for investors to consider adjusted financial measures in addition to results in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the U.S. ("GAAP"). These non-GAAP financial measures provide supplemental information and should not be considered replacements for results in accordance with GAAP. Management uses non-GAAP financial measures internally for planning and forecasting purposes and in its decision-making processes related to the operations of our company. We believe these measures provide meaningful information to us and investors because they enhance the understanding of our operating performance, ability to generate cash, and the trends of our business. Additionally, we believe that investors benefit from having access to the same financial measures that management uses in evaluating our operations. The primary limitation of these measures is that they exclude the financial impact of items that would otherwise either increase or decrease our reported results. This limitation is best addressed by using these non-GAAP financial measures in combination with the most directly comparable GAAP financial measures in order to better understand the amounts, character, and impact of any increase or decrease in reported amounts. These non-GAAP financial measures may not be comparable to similarly-titled measures reported by other companies.

The following provides additional information regarding our non-GAAP financial measures:

Organic Net Sales Growth (Decline) â represents net sales growth (decline) (the most comparable GAAP financial measure) excluding the impact of foreign currency exchange rates and acquisitions and divestitures that occurred in the preceding twelve months, if any. Organic Net Sales Growth (Decline) is a useful measure of our performance because it excludes items that are not completely under management's control, such as the impact of changes in foreign currency exchange rates, and items that do not reflect the underlying growth of the company, such as acquisition and divestiture activity. This measure is a significant component in our incentive compensation plans.

Adjusted Operating Income and Adjusted Operating Margin â represent operating income and operating margin, respectively, (the most comparable GAAP financial measures) before special items including restructuring and other charges, acquisition-related charges, amortization expense on intangible assets, impairment of goodwill, and other income or charges, if any. We utilize these adjusted measures in combination with operating income and operating margin to assess segment level operating performance and to provide insight to management in evaluating segment operating plan execution and market conditions. Adjusted Operating Income is a significant component in our incentive compensation plans.

Adjusted Income Tax (Expense) Benefit and Adjusted Effective Tax Rate â represent income tax (expense) benefit and effective tax rate, respectively, (the most comparable GAAP financial measures) after adjusting for the tax effect of special items including restructuring and other charges, acquisition-related charges, amortization expense on intangible assets, impairment of goodwill, other income or charges, and certain significant tax items, if any.

Adjusted Income from Continuing Operations â represents income from continuing operations (the most comparable GAAP financial measure) before special items including restructuring and other charges, acquisition-related charges, amortization expense on intangible assets, impairment of goodwill, other income or charges, and certain significant tax items, if any, and, if applicable, the related tax effects.

Adjusted Earnings Per Share â represents diluted earnings per share from continuing operations (the most comparable GAAP financial measure) before special items including restructuring and other charges, acquisition-related charges, amortization expense on intangible assets, impairment of goodwill, other income or charges, and certain significant tax items, if any, and, if applicable, the related tax effects. This measure is a significant component in our incentive compensation plans.

Free Cash Flow (FCF) â is a useful measure of our ability to generate cash. The difference between net cash provided by operating activities (the most comparable GAAP financial measure) and Free Cash Flow consists mainly of significant cash outflows and inflows that we believe are useful to identify. We believe Free Cash Flow provides useful information to investors as it provides insight into the primary cash flow metric used by management to monitor and evaluate cash flows generated from our operations. Free Cash Flow is defined as net cash provided by operating activities excluding voluntary pension contributions and the cash impact of special items, if any, minus net capital expenditures. Voluntary pension contributions are excluded from the GAAP financial measure because this activity is driven by economic financing decisions rather than operating activity.

As Others Put Up Walls, Zocdoc Opens Its Doors and Welcomes AI Agents to Reliably Connect Patients to Care

The company is extending an invitation to AI agents to use its healthcare access infrastructure and announcing a first-of-its-kind agent partnership with Instinct to power seamless access to care for its users

NEW YORK, October 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Zocdoc, the healthcare access infrastructure that connects patients to great care, today announced it is opening its infrastructure to AI agents, enabling them to find vetted providers, verify insurance plans, and book confirmed appointments directly onto providers' calendars, on behalf of patients. The company's invitation to agents builds on Zocdoc's recent evolution from a booking marketplace into healthcare access infrastructure, powering access to care wherever patients search.

Zocdoc is also announcing a new partnership with Instinct, allowing the AI agent to find vetted providers and book confirmed appointments directly through Zocdoc's healthcare access infrastructure.

An open invitation to agents

Zocdoc has observed that on average, traffic on Zocdoc from AI agents has doubled roughly every 10 days since early September. Since July, traffic on Zocdoc from AI agents has grown nearly 30x, underscoring the growing role of agents as a new starting point for patients' healthcare access. While much of the internet is blocking, restricting, or charging agents, Zocdoc is taking the opposite approach: welcoming agents in.

"Most of the internet is treating AI agents like intruders. We are welcoming them because we believe we have a responsibility to help agents get it right for patients," said Oliver Kharraz, MD, founder and CEO of Zocdoc. "In healthcare, if agents send patients to a doctor who does not exist, an appointment that isn't available, or a provider who doesn't take their insurance, the consequences are real. And it's the patient who pays the price. We've spent nearly 20 years obsessing over the details that make access actually work. We could insist that patients come through our front door. Instead, we're bringing trusted, reliable healthcare booking to them, wherever they are."

New partnership enables AI agents to book care

Through its partnership with Instinct, Zocdoc is giving the AI agent direct access to Zocdoc's MCP, delivering a faster, easier, and more reliable way to connect patients to care. Instinct will be able to tap directly into Zocdoc's trusted healthcare access infrastructure to find vetted providers, verify insurance, and book confirmed appointments. Zocdoc ensures these appointments integrate directly into providers' calendars for a trusted, secure experience. Instinct joins Zocdoc's growing Care Access Network, which already includes AI platforms like Google Gemini and Amazon Health AI, alongside Yelp, Healthgrades, Blue Shield of California, leading search engines, and more.

"Instinct is built to genuinely improve your life and handle important everyday tasks," said Ben Schwerin, Chief Business Officer of Instinct. "Since healthcare is more complicated than ordering groceries or booking travel, the stakes are higher. By partnering with Zocdoc, Instinct can navigate that complexity â so getting an appointment can be as simple as sending a text."

Giving AI agents and patients a trusted path to care

Healthcare presents a particularly difficult challenge for AI agents. Provider information is fragmented across disconnected systems, and the open web is full of outdated directories, inaccurate insurance information, unverified reviews, and even fraudulent websites.

Zocdoc has spent nearly two decades connecting healthcare's fragmentation to enable reliable booking at scale for over 20 million patients. The company has built direct connections across 175+ scheduling integrations, 10,000+ insurance plans, and has 200,000+ verified providers in its network. As a result, Zocdoc has 250,000 appointments available to book within the next 24 hours, with the typical appointment occurring within 24-72 hours â 10x faster than the national average wait time to see a doctor.

AI agents and Zocdoc bring complementary strengths to healthcare access. Agents can help patients navigate their options and act on their behalf. Zocdoc can verify that providers are real, that they accept the patient's insurance, that appointments are actually available, and that bookings are confirmed directly in providers' calendars.

Welcoming agents, with a two-way promise

Patient trust and safety are central to how Zocdoc works with AI agents, and the company has established a two-way promise that sets clear expectations for both sides. Among these, Zocdoc commits to welcoming agents that register and identify themselves. In return, agents are expected to obtain explicit patient consent before booking and protect patient and provider data.

Zocdoc also makes it easy for agents to connect patients to care, with multiple paths in, including an MCP server, REST API, agent guidance via llms.txt, and deep links.

One in Four Supply Chain Leaders Regret Their Warehouse Automation Decision, and 94% Say Switching Would Be Prohibitively Expensive

Exotec research traces "robot regret" to three decisions buyers make before the contract is signed: cost, accountability and readiness

ATLANTA, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Exotec, a global warehouse robotics provider, today released Avoid Robot Regret: What Separates Automation That Delivers from Automation That Disappoints, based on a survey of 250 supply chain decision-makers across the United States and Canada. The findings reveal a gap between what buyers expect from automation and what they get, with one in four supply chain leaders saying they wish they had gone a different way. However, once they made the decision, 94% said switching providers would be prohibitively expensive, leaving most buyers with the system they chose for the next 10 to 15 years.

Larger budgets and bigger teams don't prevent the problem. Companies with over $1 billion in revenue were more likely to say their most significant automation investment underperformed compared to those with less than $1 billion in revenue (21% vs. 13%). Across the survey, regret traced back to three decisions made before implementation: underestimating lifetime ownership cost, leaving accountability for issue resolution unclear, and implementing automation before the operation was ready.

Lifetime cost. Sixty-five percent of leaders say total cost of ownership came in higher than expected. Seventy percent say undisclosed costs have raised their annual maintenance spend. Among respondents whose systems underperformed, 43% said total costs ran 26% to 100% above expectations.

Clear accountability for performance. Sixty percent of respondents had a system designed by more than one company, and one in seven say they haven't seen the benefits of automation because no vendor takes full responsibility for performance. Buyers who worked directly with the equipment manufacturer rated the speed of root-cause identification higher than other buyers (75% vs. 69%).

Timing. More than a quarter (27%) say their operation wasn't ready when they invested. Early adopters with dedicated automation teams and leadership oversight rarely regretted their choice: 1% say they picked the wrong vendor, compared with 11% of fast followers.

"What we heard from supply chain leaders is that regret is rarely about the technology itself," said Romain Moulin, CEO and co-founder of Exotec. "It starts when a system built by several vendors stops working as one, and the customer is left figuring out who is responsible for the fix. The operations that get the most from their automation are the ones where a single partner owns the whole system performance, from design through the years it runs."

Buyers who chose low-cost providers report regret most often. They were nearly five times as likely to say they picked the wrong vendor (24% vs. 5% of other buyers), and only 52% rated root-cause identification as fast, compared with 74% of other buyers. Across all respondents, 59% say low-cost providers hide costs and common complications upfront, and 22% say their vendor didn't deliver what it promised during the sales process.

Additional findings from the report

- Automation is now table stakes. 91% of supply chain leaders say automation is now a basic requirement, and 86% of those who have automated say they head into peak season more confident than before.

- AI use is near-universal, maturity is not. 99% of organizations use AI in some form, but 24% are still in the pilot phase.

- Humanoids trail purpose-built robots on expected ROI. Most respondents (77%) trust purpose-built fulfillment automation to deliver better ROI than humanoids in the next five years, though 48% say they're optimistic about implementing humanoids.

Exotec conducted this research using an online survey prepared by Method Research and distributed by RepData among n=250 supply chain decision-makers working full-time in North America (Canada and United States) who oversee and have influence over automation solutions in their warehouses and organizations. Data was collected August 17 to 31, 2026.

Bold Security Named to the 2027 Fortune Cyber 60 List of Most Important Cybersecurity Startups

Recognized in its first year out of stealth for rethinking endpoint DLP with AI that runs on the device

NEW YORK, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bold Security, the real-time DLP for the modern endpoint, today announced it has been named to the 2027 Fortune Cyber 60, the annual list of the most important venture-backed cybersecurity startups that have not had an IPO, acquisition, or other significant exit event. Bold was named in its first year on the list, in the early stage category.

Over the last decade, data loss prevention (DLP) has earned a reputation for noise and false confidence. Legacy DLP matches patterns, so it catches PII and PCI but misses source code, financial models, and board documents. The patterns it does match fire on legitimate work too, so teams get flooded with alerts and turn blocking off. The prevention tool becomes a detection tool.

AI is now moving work back onto the device, into desktop assistants and AI agents that run locally, outside the paths legacy DLP was built to watch. Bold rebuilt endpoint DLP around AI that runs on the device itself. Small language models on every device classify data by meaning rather than pattern, read the context around each action, and block or coach in the moment it happens. There is no cloud round trip, no regex rules to write, and no coverage gap when a device goes offline.

"For years, the industry treated the endpoint as the old perimeter and DLP as a necessary evil, but AI broke both of those assumptions," said Nati Hazut, Co-Founder and CEO of Bold Security. "People and AI agents move sensitive data through the device faster than a security team can follow, and DLP both overburdens and underdelivers. With Bold, we bet on the endpoint as both the new risk surface and the right place to solve it. Being named to the Fortune Cyber 60 validates the problem and our approach."

Founded in 2024 by the team behind Polyrize, the cloud data security company acquired by Varonis, Bold has raised $40 million from Bessemer Venture Partners, Picture Capital, and Red Dot Capital Partners. Tekion, HiBob, Cresta, Shutterfly, and others use Bold to prevent data loss, identify risky insiders, and secure AI usage on the endpoint.

"Every security team knows DLP is a problem, but very few companies have been willing to rethink how it works," said Amit Karp, Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners. "Bold has built something genuinely different, using AI on the endpoint to understand sensitive data and prevent leaks without getting in the way of employees. That's why we backed the team."

The Fortune Cyber 60⢠list, developed in partnership with Lightspeed Venture Partners and AWS, recognizes 60 of the most important venture-backed cybersecurity startups that have not yet undergone an IPO, acquisition, or other significant exit. Lightspeed evaluates hundreds of venture-backed cybersecurity companies on annual recurring revenue, year-over-year growth, and validated operating data, then groups the list into three stages of 20. The full list is available here.

About Bold Security

Bold is real-time data security for the modern endpoint. Bold runs AI directly on the device to classify data by meaning and context, identify risk in how people and AI interact with it, and prevent data from leaving in the moment, without data ever leaving the device. Bold works from day one with zero configuration, no tuning, and coverage for any data, not only the patterns regex can catch. Learn more at bold.security.
