- Earns ESG Risk Rating score of 9.0, ranking among the top 0.5% in the pharmaceuticals industry

- Advances from 'Low Risk' to 'Negligible Risk,' the lowest ESG risk category

- Recognition reflects continued improvements in ESG risk management across operations

INCHEON, South Korea, Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Samsung Biologics (KRX: 207940.KS), a leading contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), has achieved a 'Negligible Risk' rating in the latest Morningstar Sustainalytics ESG Risk Ratings assessment, marking further progress in its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.

Samsung Biologics received an ESG Risk Rating score of 9.0, advancing from its previous 'Low Risk' rating to 'Negligible Risk,' the lowest of five risk categories. The result places the company among the top 0.5% of companies assessed in the pharmaceuticals industry.

Morningstar Sustainalytics, an independent ESG research and ratings provider, assesses approximately 16,000 companies worldwide based on their exposure to material ESG risks and how effectively those risks are managed. Under its methodology, scores below 10 indicate a negligible level of unmanaged ESG risk, with lower scores reflecting lower overall risk.

The improved rating reflects Samsung Biologics' continued efforts to strengthen ESG management across its business. The company has implemented initiatives to enhance environmental auditing, occupational health and safety, quality management, and business ethics, while reinforcing internal processes and oversight to identify and address potential risks.

"Effective risk management is fundamental to how we operate as a global CDMO," said John Rim, President and CEO of Samsung Biologics. "This recognition demonstrates the progress we have made in embedding responsible practices across our business. As we expand our global operations, we will continue to take a disciplined approach to managing risks and maintaining the trust of our clients and stakeholders."

The achievement follows Samsung Biologics' recent 'A' rating in the 2026 MSCI ESG Ratings assessment. Earlier this year, the company also received the EcoVadis Platinum Sustainability Rating, placing it among the top 1% of companies assessed globally.

Verismo Therapeutics Presents Preclinical Data at SITC 2026 Demonstrating Enhanced Tumor Control and Reduced Cytokine Release with SynKIR™-110 KIR-CAR Compared to Conventional CAR T
Image File
Original HTML

SynKIRâ¢-110 demonstrated faster tumor control with approximately 10-fold lower IFNγ and 30-fold lower TNFα and IL-2 production compared to CD28-based single-chain CAR T in preclinical models

Preclinical in vivo data showed reduced exhaustion of tumor-infiltrating SynKIRâ¢-110 T cells and no accumulation in healthy lung tissue compared to conventional single-chain CAR T designs

In vitro data showed reductions in T cell exhaustion, off-target proliferation, and toxicity with SynKIRâ¢-110

PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Verismo Therapeutics, a clinical-stage CAR T cell therapy company pioneering a novel multi-chain KIR-CAR platform technology, today announced new preclinical data demonstrating enhanced anti-tumor activity, reduced cytokine release, and lower T cell exhaustion with SynKIRâ¢-110 with reduced off-target activity compared to conventional single-chain CAR T designs. The data will be presented at the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) 41st Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona (Abstract 253). The study evaluated SynKIRâ¢-110 against CD28- and 4-1BB-based single-chain CAR T cells in preclinical mesothelioma xenograft models.

Poster Presentation Details

Title: Mesothelin-targeted Multi-Chain Killer Immunoglobulin Receptor (KIR)-based CAR T Reduces Exhaustion, Cytokine Release, and Enhances Safety Profile in vivo vs CD28 or 41BB single-chain CAR T

Presenter: Nora Yucel, Ph.D., Verismo Therapeutics

Session: Cellular Therapies â Chimeric Antigen Receptors

Session Date and Time: Friday, November 6, 2026 â 10 a.m.â2 p.m., 5â7 p.m. MT

Abstract Number: 253

Location: Phoenix Convention Center, Phoenix, Arizona

Full Abstract: https://www.sitcancer.org/2026/abstracts/titles-and-publications

In head-to-head comparisons, SynKIRâ¢-110 achieved the fastest tumor control among the three CAR T designs with low cytokine production, while CD28-based single-chain CAR T cells produced approximately 10-fold higher IFNγ and 30-fold higher TNFα and IL-2 levels. Tumor-infiltrating SynKIRâ¢-110 CD8 T cells also demonstrated reduced expression of exhaustion markers TIM3, LAG3, and PD1 compared to both single-chain comparators. Additionally, while both single-chain CAR T groups showed off-target activity in vitro and accumulation of CD8 CAR T cells in healthy lung tissue in vivo, no such effects were observed in SynKIRâ¢-110-treated animals.

"These preclinical head-to-head findings reinforce the mechanistic rationale behind the multi-chain KIR-CAR platform â that separating antigen binding from T cell activation can meaningfully reduce tonic signaling and non-specific off-target activity associated with conventional single-chain CAR T designs, without compromising antitumor control," said Laura Johnson, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Verismo Therapeutics. "Seeing SynKIRâ¢-110 deliver the fastest tumor control among the three CAR T architectures tested, with substantially lower cytokine production versus CD28-based single-chain CAR T, reduced T cell exhaustion markers compared with both single-chain comparators, and no off-target accumulation in healthy lung tissue, supports the differentiated safety and efficacy profile we are now evaluating in the ongoing STAR-101 clinical trial in patients with mesothelin-expressing solid tumors."

SynKIRâ¢-110 is currently being evaluated in the ongoing Phase 1 STAR-101 clinical trial (NCT05568680) in patients with advanced mesothelin-expressing solid tumors, including mesothelioma, ovarian cancer, and cholangiocarcinoma. Initial clinical data presented at AACR 2026 showed a favorable safety profile in nine patients across the first three dose-escalation cohorts, with no dose-limiting toxicities, no Grade 3 or higher cytokine release syndrome, and no immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) observed, while also demonstrating tumor reduction. SynKIRâ¢-110 has received Orphan Drug and Fast Track designations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for mesothelioma. Dose escalation remains ongoing to determine the recommended Phase 2 dose.

About the KIR-CAR Platform

The KIR-CAR platform is a multi-chain T cell therapy that has shown highly effective solid tumor treatment in otherwise CAR-resistant animal models with hard-to-treat tumors. Using NK cell-derived killer immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) and DAP12 to split the target binding and T cell activation signals provides a novel paired immune-receptor activation that is independent from CD3 signaling and does not require additional co-stimulation. KIR-CAR enables sustained cell receptor expression in T cells, and induces deeper, more durable tumor treatments. Together, this multi-chain cell signaling platform provides the potential to deliver effective patient treatments by minimizing the background activation and early T cell exhaustion observed in conventional single-chain CAR T therapy, with potential to treat patients with both solid and hematologic tumors.

About Verismo Therapeutics

Verismo Therapeutics, a subsidiary of HLB Innovation, is a pioneer in multi-chain KIR-CAR technology, with assets SynKIRâ¢-110 (NCT05568680) and SynKIRâ¢-310 (NCT06544265) currently in Phase 1 clinical trials. Verismo is the only company developing the KIR-CAR platform, using a modified NK cell-derived receptor and DAP12 pairing, designed to improve T cell functional persistence and reduce exhaustion, resulting in improved efficacy against challenging tumors. The KIR-CAR platform technology was specifically developed to address areas of high unmet medical need, including advanced solid tumors and B cell-associated disorders and malignancies. DR Congo - American Strategic Partnership Moves Forward on World's Largest Hydropower Complex
Image File

Less than a year after signing, the partnership has new American investment and a joint committee advancing Grand Inga

WASHINGTON, Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Less than a year after it was signed, the United States - Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Strategic Partnership Agreement is moving from concepts on paper to committed projects on the ground. The latest step came in Paris, where the two governments launched joint governance of Grand Inga, the Congo River hydropower complex that would be the largest in the world.

Signed in Washington back on December 4, 2025, the agreement covers investment, critical minerals, infrastructure and energy. Its Joint Steering Committee formally began implementation in February. In April, KoBold Metals, one of the largest American investors in the DRC, launched a $50 million lithium exploration program. In August, the DRC signed a 30-year, $1.26 billion concession to rebuild the 1,000-kilometer DR Congo link of the Lobito Corridor railway.

Grand Inga is where the partnership turns minerals into megawatts. The inaugural Grand Inga Coordination and Governance Committee met at the World Bank offices in Paris. It was co-chaired by Daniel Mukoko Samba, Deputy Prime Minister, and Jeremy Wiggins of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The delegations focused on developing Grand Inga in coordinated phases.

"For decades, Inga was a promise. In Paris, we started running it as a project, and that is what this entire partnership is about," said Deputy Prime Minister Daniel Mukoko Samba. "Congo does not intend to remain a place where minerals are dug up and shipped out. We intend to process them here, with Congolese workers and Congolese power, and Grand Inga is how we get there."

Only about one in five Congolese has access to electricity, according to the World Bank, and without reliable power much of the copper and cobalt mined in the DRC leaves the country unprocessed. The Inga site holds an estimated 42,000 megawatts of potential power on a scale that could drive manufacturing, mineral processing, housing and additional infrastructure. That is nearly double the 22,500 megawatts installed at China's Three Gorges Dam, the world's largest operating power station. Inga 1 and Inga 2, about 1,800 megawatts combined, are in operation today.

"Americans hear a great deal about Congo's minerals. They should hear just as much about Congo's power," said Ambassador Yvette Kapinga Ngandu, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the United States. "This partnership was never only about what comes out of the ground. A railroad, new American investment and now the Grand Inga hydropower complex show what it can build for American supply chains and for the Congolese families who still live without electricity."

During Inga's first phase, the project is expected to create 4,000 to 6,000 jobs, and projections estimate up to 8 million jobs as it develops. The project is a cornerstone of the DRC's goal to bring electricity to 62 percent of the population, about 82 million people, by 2030. The Grand Inga committee also placed environmental and social safeguards for affected communities on its agenda.

Small Joys, Big Market: Products That Spark Joy Take the Spotlight at 140th Canton Fair

GUANGZHOU, China, Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As emotional value becomes a key consumption driver, consumers are increasingly willing to pay for fun, companionship and peace of mind, offering an everyday interpretation of what "Better Life" truly means. This trend was on display throughout Phase 3 of the 140th Canton Fair.

Small Products, Big Feelings

In the Office Supplies Section, beyond traditional business supplies, vibrant products are capturing attention. Pens are expected to be visually appealing while staplers are designed to be cute as well as functional. Products that provide a burst of pleasure are gaining popularity.

3D stickers have emerged as a favorite among journaling enthusiasts. These stickers double as puzzles, requiring no glue and allowing users to assemble them for fun, turning decorations into interactive toys.

In the Toys Section, bag charms in various designs are ubiquitous. Meanwhile, animal-shaped sofa cushions in lazy, prone poses offer a healing touch. Filled with eco-friendly weighted glass beads, they provide a gentle hugging sensation, offering comfort and relaxation.

Emotional Comfort Across Categories

Emotional comfort was equally evident in products designed for children and pets.

A duck-shaped toy created for infants and toddlers aged 6 to 36 months attracted interest from overseas buyers. Simulating the movements of a real duck through head-turning and waddling motions alongside lights, sounds and voice guidance, the toy supports crawling, early learning and emotional comfort. Educational and bedtime-soothing modes offer music, stories, nursery rhymes and bilingual content, helping nurture development and providing a sense of security.

Meanwhile, the Pet Products and Food Section demonstrated how emotional needs also extend to animal companions. From creatively designed cat climbing structures to interactive automatic toys, exhibitors presented products aimed at enriching pets' daily lives and strengthening the bond between pets and their owners.

As consumers increasingly seek products that deliver emotional as well as practical benefits, Phase 3 of the 140th Canton Fair offers a glimpse into evolving lifestyles and expectations. The message behind "Better Life" is clear: better living is no longer defined solely by utility, but by products that bring comfort, connection and joy.

Curaleaf Issues Statement Regarding Alternative Proposal for Aurora Cannabis
Image File
Original HTML

STAMFORD, Conn., Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Curaleaf Holdings, Inc. (TSX: CURA) (OTCQX: CURLF) ("Curaleaf"), a leading international provider of consumer and medical cannabis products, today acknowledges the announcement by Aurora Cannabis Inc. (TSX: ACB) (NASDAQ: ACB) ("Aurora") of an alternative transaction from Organigram Global Inc. ("Organigram").

Curaleaf's enhanced premium bid of October 6, 2026 to purchase all of the outstanding common shares of Aurora (the "Offer" or the "Curaleaf Offer") remains outstanding. Curaleaf believes its Offer represents better value, offering a superior combined business with a stronger capital markets profile, greater certainty and speed to close, and greater anticipated synergies. Curaleaf will study Organigram's alternative transaction and awaits disclosure of material details which have not been provided, including any break fee, management and board composition going forward, and any investor rights being granted to BAT. It is also revealing that neither Aurora nor Organigram made any reference to whether the transaction is dilutive or accretive to shareholders.

Aurora's board granted due diligence access to, in Curaleaf's view, a significantly smaller, underperforming and less liquid company, burdened with a looming share overhang, a history of, and forthcoming, shareholder dilution and weak cash generation, backed by an investor with its own disappointing cannabis investment track record. In Curaleaf's view, the refusal by Aurora's board to grant Curaleaf access and engage directly blocks any chance of an enhanced Curaleaf bid and constitutes gross dereliction of their fiduciary duties.

His Excellency Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Saudi Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Tourism Authority, said: "Resilience is built before you need it, and this year Saudi tourism has demonstrated the strength of its foundations. In the first half of 2026, Saudi welcomed about 61.2 million tourist, representing about 1% growth year-on-year, while tourism expenditure reached about SAR 151.9 billion (approximately $40.5 billion). We know the pressures our partners and travelers have faced, and our commitment to them is long term, as we work towards our ambition of welcoming 150 million tourists by 2030. No destination builds that kind of resilience alone, so we will continue bringing the industry together, here in London and through TOURISE, the global, year-round platform shaping the future of tourism."

Ageel Alshaibani, CEO of STA, added: "Our trade partners have been instrumental in Saudi tourism's growth, and their success remains our priority. At WTM London, we are showcasing Red Sea escapes, desert experiences and a winter calendar featuring Riyadh Season and Winter at Tantora in AlUla, alongside attractions such as Six Flags Qiddiya City and Aquarabia. These experiences are backed by continued hospitality investment, with about 623K licensed room keys across hotels, apartments and other accommodation in H1 2026, including more than 44K room keys in newly licensed facilities. We are here to create opportunities and grow together."

Saudi Land celebrated AMAALA, one of Saudi's newest luxury coastal destinations, as a key highlight of its opening day, showcasing the destination's growing hospitality offering to international travel partners. Since June, seven resorts, including properties from Four Seasons, Six Senses, Rosewood and Nammos, have welcomed guests, further strengthening AMAALA's position as a distinctive luxury destination and adding to Saudi's expanding portfolio of high-end tourism experiences.

Saudi Land also brings the country's cultural heritage to life throughout the event, with traditional music and dance, Arabic calligraphy and interactive experiences inspired by destinations across Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Land will remain open at stand S9-200 at ExCeL London until 5 November, with 37 tourism partners engaging international buyers, developing new partnerships and creating commercial opportunities for the future.

Mineral Resource update includes maiden estimates at the Helios Caesium Zone and CV4 Pegmatite, contributing to overall resource growth in all three critical minerals (Li, Cs, Ta) at the Shaakichiuwaanaan Property

MONTREAL, Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- November 4, 2026 â Sydney, Australia

Significant increase in contained caesium metal (55%), grade (31%), and tonnage (18%) of the Caesium Zone MRE1, inclusive of the Vega, Rigel, and newly estimated Helios Zones.

1,844,000 t at 4.40% Cs2O (Indicated) â 81,200 t Cs2O in contained metal.

981,000 t at 3.00% Cs2O (Inferred) â 29,400 t Cs2O in contained metal.

Already the world's largest pollucite (caesium) pegmatite, this MRE has further increased contained metal from 71,000 t to 110,600 t Cs2O.

Additional critical mineral added to resource base with maiden rubidium (Rb) resources declared within the Caesium Zone MRE at a grade of 0.46% Rb2O (Indicated) and 0.37% Rb2O (Inferred). Rubidium is a soft, silvery-white alkali metal used primarily in scientific research, precision timekeeping, and specialized technologies.

Consolidated MRE at Shaakichiuwaanaan confirms over 40 Mt of greater than 2% Li2O grade at CV5 and CV13 combined (indicated).

Sensitivity analysis outlines very high-grade (Li) subsets of the resource at significant tonnage, primarily reflecting the Nova (CV5) and Vega (CV13) Zones, respectively (at 1.5% Li2O cut-off):

36.5 Mt at 2.04% Li2O (Indicated), 4.1Mt at 2.01% Li2O (Inferred).

5.9 Mt at 2.77% Li2O (Indicated), 4.2Mt at 2.24% Li2O (Inferred).

113.9 Mt at 1.43% Li2O and 164 ppm Ta2O5 (Indicated) â 4.03 Mt LCE.

33.8 Mt at 1.24% Li2O and 150 ppm Ta2O5 (Inferred) â 1.03 Mt LCE.

MRE continues to re-affirm Shaakichiuwaanaan as one of the largest and highest-grade tantalum pegmatites globally.

Increase in contained LCE2 (5%) driven by combined impact of improved tonnage (4%) and grade (0.2%) of consolidated MRE at Shaakichiuwaanaan3:

A total of 87.4 Mt (Indicated) and 2.2 Mt (Inferred) is contained within a single dyke at the CV5 Pegmatite, which is anticipated to significantly limit external dilution and simplify mining.

Includes 1.75 Mt at 1.24% Li2O (Inferred) maiden resource at the CV4 Pegmatite, approximately 1.5 km along strike and to the east of CV5, with the gap between offering further exploration potential for additional resource growth (more drilling required).

MRE4 update announced herein to underpin an updated Feasibility Study for Li and Ta on the CV5 Pegmatite and a Preliminary Economic Assessment for Li, Cs, and Ta on the broader Project (CV5 & CV13 Pegmatites), on schedule to be announced before year end.

Darren L. Smith â Executive Vice President of Exploration commented: "Although the 2025 drill program focused on development objectives for the Project, the work has also grown the overall resource base for all three metals, highlighted by the significant increases in the Caesium Zone MRE grade, tonnage, and contained metal.

"Shaakichiuwaanaan continues to demonstrate considerable scale in lithium, caesium, and tantalum inclusive of very high-grade subsets of the resource. Given the size of the overall resource, it is easy to forget that the scale and grade of the Nova and Vega Zones are globally significant in their own right. This is an important part of what makes the Project so unique. We are very confident there is a lot more to discover as we expand our exploration focus in future programs," added Mr. Smith.

PMET RESOURCES INC. (THE "COMPANY" OR "PMET") (TSX: PMET) (ASX: PMT) (OTCQX: PMETF) (FSE: R9GA) is pleased to announce an updated Consolidated Mineral Resource Estimate ("Consolidated MRE") for its 100%-owned Shaakichiuwaanaan Property (the "Property" or "Project") located in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Quebec. The Consolidated MRE, the fifth to date for the Project ("MRE-5"), includes the CV5, CV13, and CV4 lithium-caesium-tantalum ("LCT") pegmatites and is accessible by all-season road, proximal to regional hydropower infrastructure (Figure 2 and Figure 14).

In addition to continued growth in the lithium-tantalum consolidated resource base (see below), MRE-55 has resulted in a significant increase in caesium ("Cs") resources both in terms of grade (31%), tonnage (18%), and contained metal (55%) inclusive of the Vega, Rigel, and newly estimated Helios zones (all within the CV13 Pegmatite) â 1,844,000 t at 4.40% Cs2O (Indicated) and 981,000 t at 3.00% Cs2O (Inferred) for a contained caesium content (Cs2O) of 81,200 t and 29,400 t, respectively (Table 2). This reaffirms Shaakichiuwaanaan's position as hosting the world's largest pollucite (caesium) pegmatite MRE (Figure 1).

The scale of Shaakichiuwaanaan's caesium resource is particularly significant given the supply-constrained nature of the global caesium market. Caesium formate is a premium high-density drilling fluid used in high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) oil and gas wells, particularly in the North Sea, with potential for broader adoption in offshore basins such as Brazil, the Gulf of Mexico, and Southeast Asia. Historically limited and highly concentrated supply has constrained wider market adoption. The emergence of a large-scale, reliable North American source of caesium could not only diversify global supply chains, but also enable the development of new caesium formate inventory pools, supporting expanded offshore exploration and greater energy security.

Additionally, a maiden rubidium ("Rb") Mineral Resource has been declared within the Caesium Zone MRE at a grade of 0.46% Rb2O (Indicated) and 0.37% Rb2O (Inferred). The target mineral for recovery for both Cs and rubidium Rb is pollucite, which is the primary host to Cs at Shaakichiuwaanaan and is the preferred source mineral for Cs globally.

The updated Consolidated MRE demonstrates continued growth in the overall resource base with increases in lithium grade (0.2%), tonnage (4%), and contained metal (5%). This includes tonnage increases at both CV5 (1.6%) and CV13 (10.4%) (Table 1):

113.9 Mt at 1.43% Li2O and 164 ppm Ta2O5 (Indicated) â 4.03 Mt LCE and 18.7 kt Ta2O5 contained, respectively.

33.8 Mt at 1.24% Li2O and 150 ppm Ta2O5 (Inferred) â 1.03 Mt LCE and 5.1 kt Ta2O5 contained, respectively.

Shaakichiuwaanaan continues to host one of the world's largest and highest-grade tantalum pegmatite MREs. Coupled with the scale and grade of the lithium and caesium resources, the tantalum provides another key differentiator for the Project.

A total of 87.4 Mt (Indicated) and 2.2 Mt (Inferred) is contained within a single principal dyke at the CV5 Pegmatite, which extends nearly 5 km in length at true widths of up to ~125 m. The scale of the resources within this single, broad dyke is significant as it is anticipated to reduce external dilution, simplify the overall mining approach, and reduce the mineral processing risk.

Additionally, MRE-5 includes maiden resources at the CV4 Pegmatite totaling 1.75 Mt at 1.24% Li2O (Inferred) and is interpreted to represent a potential 1.5 km extension of the principal CV5 Pegmatite dyke. This gap (CV5 to CV4) represents a key exploration area for future resource growth.

HIGH-GRADE NOVA AND VEGA ZONES ARE KEY DIFFERENTIATORS

The relatively high-grade nature of the Shaakichiuwaanaan MRE, highlighted by the Nova (CV5) and Vega (CV13) Zones, is a key and powerful differentiator for the Company (Figure 5). In the MRE-5 sensitivity analysis (Table 3), significant tonnage is outlined at very high-grade (>2.00% Li2O), primarily reflecting these two zones, respectively (at 1.5% Li2O cut-off):

36.5 Mt at 2.04% Li2O (Indicated), 4.1Mt at 2.01% Li2O (Inferred).

5.9 Mt at 2.77% Li2O (Indicated), 4.2Mt at 2.24% Li2O (Inferred).

These zones of intense spodumene mineralization at scale (both with 10+ m drill intervals at >5% Li2O) are exceedingly rare â and potentially unique â in LCT pegmatite deposits known globally. Such scale and grade offer the opportunity to have higher-margin tonnes (potentially relatively early in the mine-life), improved recoveries, and backstop a highly robust production profile that can withstand significant downturn in the markets over prolonged periods. Collectively, these attributes lend Shaakichiuwaanaan a very defensible nature to market nuance, which is anticipated to be outlined in further detail within the updated Feasibility Study at CV5 and Preliminary Economic Assessment on the broader project (CV5 & CV13) scheduled to be announced before year end.

NEXT STEPS

MRE-5 â which includes drilling through to the end 2025 â is intended to underpin an updated Feasibility Study for Li and Ta on the CV5 Pegmatite and a Preliminary Economic Assessment for Li, Cs, and Ta on the broader Project (CV5 & CV13 Pegmatites), on schedule to be announced before year end. Drilling completed in 2026 will be incorporated into a future MRE update for the Project, anticipated in 2027.
