Vicuna's first continental European flights ran this October. The 2027 schedule is now live through to December 2027.

LONDON, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Vicuna Air flew its first continental European services on October 7 and 9, and Brussels now anchors the European side of its 2027 schedule.

The two flights carried more than 14 pets between New York and Brussels. Two of the pets travelling out of New York were rabbits, flying in Biscuit Class. They travelled in the cabin without their owners, accompanied by a Vicuna Concierge for the whole journey.

Seven bookings ran beyond Brussels, carrying pets onward by road with Waypoints, Vicuna's connecting service. Some travelled on to Frankfurt and Amsterdam after the outbound flight; others came in from as far as Stockholm to join the return. A pet booked from New York into Europe never enters the hold at any stage of the journey.

"Northern Europe is one of the busiest relocation corridors we see, and more of those moves now include a pet," said Jamie Everett, founder of Vicuna Air. "Brussels sits inside that corridor, within an overland journey of Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Stockholm and Oslo."

The 2027 schedule, live through to December 5, 2027, is built around London, New York and Brussels, with Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Stockholm and Oslo connecting overland. The schedule also carries New York to Los Angeles, and London to Los Angeles via New York, opening up the West Coast of the US to passengers.

"We understand that a relocation is planned months in advance," Everett added. "A full year of flights across the US and Europe is in place to support that."

Pets fly in the cabin either beside their owner, in Furs Class, or on their own with a Vicuna Concierge, in Biscuit Class. All documentation is checked and pre-cleared before departure.

The 2027 schedule is now live: https://www.vicunaair.com/our-routes

Detailed efficacy and safety results from the pivotal phase 3 study demonstrate statistically significant serum urate reductions through 12 months

Pozdeutinurad is an investigational, once-daily, highly selective URAT1 inhibitor

STOCKHOLM, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Sobi® (STO: SOBI) today announced the presentation of late-breaking data from the pivotal Phase 3 REDUCE-2 study of pozdeutinurad (AR882), an investigational next-generation once-daily oral, highly selective URAT1 inhibitor, at ACR Convergence 2026. The findings demonstrate clinically meaningful and durable reductions in serum urate (SU) levels through 12 months, with significantly more patients achieving target SU levels compared with placebo and a safety profile generally comparable to placebo. REDUCE-2 is part of the Phase 3 clinical programme evaluating pozdeutinurad in patients with uncontrolled gout.

In the global Phase 3 REDUCE-2 study, 811 patients with gout were randomised to receive pozdeutinurad 75 mg, pozdeutinurad 50 mg or placebo. The study met its primary endpoint, with 69.2% and 56.6% of patients receiving pozdeutinurad 75 mg and 50 mg, respectively, achieving SU levels below 6 mg/dL at month 6, compared with 8.1% of patients receiving placebo (both p0.0001). Clinically meaningful reductions in serum urate were observed as early as month 1 and were sustained through month 12. At each assessment during the 12-month period, a greater proportion of patients treated with pozdeutinurad achieved SU levels below 6, 5, 4 and 3 mg/dL compared with placebo.

The incidence of treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) was similar across treatment groups, occurring in 60.7%, 61.7% and 60.9% of patients receiving pozdeutinurad 75 mg, pozdeutinurad 50 mg and placebo, respectively.

"Achieving and maintaining target serum urate levels is fundamental to effective gout management, yet many patients remain inadequately controlled with currently available oral therapies, which can lead to permanent joint and tissue damage," said Puja P. Khanna, MD, MPH, Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Michigan and investigator in the REDUCE-2 study. "The REDUCE-2 results demonstrated clinically meaningful and durable serum urate lowering over 12 months, with a safety profile comparable to placebo, supporting the potential of pozdeutinurad as a treatment option for patients living with uncontrolled gout."

"The presentation of these late-breaking Phase 3 data for the first time marks an important milestone in our efforts to advance innovation in gout," said Lydia Abad-Franch, MD, Head of R&D and Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer at Sobi. "The consistency of the results across both evaluated doses together with the sustained serum urate lowering through 12 months are encouraging as we continue advancing the programme for patients who need additional treatment options."

About gout

Gout is the most common form of systemic inflammatory arthritis[i]. Elevated serum urate (SU) levels can lead to the accumulation of monosodium urate crystals in joints and other tissues, causing flares, joint damage and intense pain[ii]. Uncontrolled gout is a systemic, progressive disease characterised by SU levels above 6 mg/dL and persistent, debilitating clinical manifestations, including flares and/or tophi, despite treatment with oral urate-lowering therapies[iii],[iv]. Elevated SU levels have also been associated with cardiovascular, renal and metabolic diseases. Sustained serum urate (SU) lowering is central to gout management, promoting dissolution of monosodium urate crystals, limiting further crystal deposition, and reducing gout symptoms.

About pozdeutinurad

Pozdeutinurad (AR882) is an investigational once daily oral, highly selective URAT1 inhibitor being developed to treat uncontrolled gout. Phase 2 studies demonstrated clinically significant efficacy with a sustained reduction of serum urate (SU) levels, dissolution of tophi and a generally well-tolerated safety profile. Pozdeutinurad is being evaluated in more than 800 patients, in two 12-month, randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 3 studies, REDUCE 1 and REDUCE 2, assessing its ability to reduce SU in patients with uncontrolled gout.

CATL globally launches ultra-high capacity energy storage system at All Energy 2026 and signs three Australian partnership MoUs

MELBOURNE, Australia, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) today unveiled TENER+ in a global launch at All Energy Australia 2026, where it also showcased TENER Sodium. The company signed memorandums of understanding (MoU) with Hitachi Energy, EPEC Group and UNSW Sydney to strengthen the delivery and grid connection of utility-scale battery projects in Australia.

TENER: Engineered for long-term performance and Australia's demanding grid connection requirements

CATL's TENER+ and TENER Sodium energy storage systems are designed to deliver the reliability and long-term performance Australian utility-scale energy projects need. Engineered for harsh weather conditions, they are designed to support compliance with Australia's demanding grid connection requirements and give project financiers confidence in the reliability and long-term performance that underpin battery revenues.

TENER+ is a 9MWh ultra-high capacity energy storage system that helps developers to achieve a longer-term project value and to maximise the storage capacity of their project, TENER+ reduces the number of containers needed by up to 40% and the project footprint by 12%, making this ideal for projects that are facing land constraints. Its intelligent thermal management system supports a higher round-trip efficiency and lower auxiliary power consumption. Multiple TENER+ batteries can be simultaneously commissioned with a single click to streamline project deployment.

Designed for a 25-year lifespan, TENER+ features liquid cooling and protection for humid and coastal environments. Noise levels remain below 65 dBA at 1 metre. Its "no heat island" top-exhaust design directs hot air vertically upwards, away from adjacent units. This prevents horizontal heat discharge and minimises thermal impact on neighbouring PCS units, allowing them to operate at full rated power even in extreme summer conditions.

TENER Sodium is the world's first mass-produced, field-validated sodium-ion battery energy storage system. It delivers more than 30MWh through its modular cabinet architecture. Built for Australia's heat, it operates in temperatures of up to 55°C and delivers more than 10,000 cycles at 45°C. It delivers 95% round-trip efficiency with an operating lifespan of more than 20 years.

Together, these energy storage systems give developers and asset owners a choice of lithium-ion and sodium-ion chemistries. Sodium is far more abundant and geographically widespread than lithium and it delivers an additional pathway for battery supply chains.

"A battery's value is measured over the entire lifespan of a project and not just on the day it's commissioned," said Zane Zhou, General Manager of CATL Australia and New Zealand.

"Developers need confidence that their batteries can handle the expected cycling to trade in the National Electricity Market and to perform throughout the lifespan of batteries installed in a utility-scale project. That is what TENER+ and TENER Sodium are designed to deliver. We're offering both sodium-ion and lithium-ion technologies to give asset owners and developers the flexibility to choose the right technology for their success."

CATL's local industry partnerships to advance Australia's clean energy transition

TENER energy storage systems solve the challenges the Australia's grid is facing as more renewable energy powers the grid. Renewables supplied a record 44.3% of the National Electricity Market's (NEM) generation in the September quarter of 2026. Grid-scale batteries supplied 8% of evening peak generation, overtaking gas-powered generation for the first time according to the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).

As coal-fired power stations retire, the grid increasingly needs energy storage systems with grid-forming capability to provide voltage and frequency support. To help deliver more storage in Australia, CATL's three MoUs aim to address the challenges of a renewables-driven grid through Australian expertise and innovation.

CATL's DC battery products and Hitachi Energy's power conversion systems will form the basis of a proposed integrated offering in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Through this partnership, the company's aim to improve compatibility, standardise project delivery and to reduce integration risk.

In Australia, CATL will collaborate with EPEC Group and the Xiamen Energy Storage Validation Research Institute (ESVL) to combine its energy storage technology, with EPEC's grid integration and engineering delivery expertise, and ESVL's full-scale system validation. The parties aim to strengthen technical validation and accelerate the delivery of reliable, bankable and grid-compliant energy storage projects in Australia.

CATL and UNSW Sydney will also jointly develop the Centre for Integrated Renewable Energy Training and Innovation in Western Sydney, NSW. This renewable energy training and innovation centre will advance the skills and capabilities needed for Australia's clean energy transition.

Zhou added, "CATL is working with Hitachi Energy, EPEC Group, ESVL and UNSW Sydney to give our Australian customers greater confidence in how our technology is integrated, validated and supported throughout a project's life. Together, we're building the local expertise needed to deliver reliable battery projects in the long-term."

The MoUs build on CATL's work with Australian customers, including Birdwood Energy, which has selected CATL as the technology partner for the Baranduda Electrical Energy Reserve, a 400MW/1,860MWh battery near Wodonga in Victoria.

Zhou said, "Our commitment to Australia goes beyond supplying energy storage systems. We're investing in people, partnerships and capability, from training the next generation of renewable energy professionals to working with our customers and partners to connect and deliver the critical projects Australia's grid needs."

CATL has led global energy storage battery shipments for five consecutive years, with a 30.4% market share in 2025, according to SNE Research. It has been on BloombergNEF's Tier 1 energy storage list every quarter since Q1 2024. CATL has more than 3,000 energy storage projects worldwide and an installed capacity of over 17GWh of projects in Australia.

SEOUL, South Korea, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- LG Energy Solution (KRX: 373220) today announced the launch of the Battery Innovation Contest 2026 (BIC 2026), a global open innovation program to discover and support cutting-edge battery technologies with strong commercialization potential.

Universities and research institutions in Korea and around the world are invited to submit concept proposals from October 29 through December 6, 2026, via LG Energy Solution's online open innovation platform, BRIDGE (bridge.lgensol.com). Priority will be given to proposals that address key pain points in the battery industry and have the potential to accelerate technological advancement.

Now in its 10th year, the BIC has enabled LG Energy Solution to pursue joint research with universities and research institutions worldwide. Through the program, the company seeks to help transform creative research ideas into commercially viable technologies while contributing to a stronger battery innovation ecosystem.

- Deepening Two-Way Collaboration through Thematic and Open-Topic Calls for Proposals

BIC 2026 will continue to offer two calls for proposals designed to combine industry-driven research needs with the creativity and autonomy of researchers.

Under the Thematic call for proposals, LG Energy Solution presents specific research topics identified by its product development departments. This year, the company has significantly expanded the number of thematic topics, ranging from materials and cells to battery management systems (BMS) and AI. Researchers will be invited to propose solutions addressing these topics, creating a more structured framework for two-way collaboration.

The Open-Topic call for proposals will allow researchers to propose original ideas across broad areas of battery technology. This call preserves the researcher-led format, giving participants the flexibility to develop creative concepts with commercial potential.

- Protecting Original Ideas through a Two-Stage Proposal Process and the BRIDGE Platform

To better protect researchers' original ideas, LG Energy Solution will operate a two-stage application and evaluation process, in which applicants will submit a concise concept proposal during the first stage and a full proposal for further evaluation only after being shortlisted. Limiting the detail required in the initial review will help protect ideas that are not ultimately selected.

All proposals and subsequent research projects will be managed through BRIDGE, LG Energy Solution's integrated, interactive platform for open innovation. BRIDGE streamlines industry-academia communication and project record management while protecting collaborative research technologies and minimizing offline administrative work.

- A Decade of Impact: From Patent Filing to Publication in Science

Since 2017, approximately 50 research projects have been supported through the BIC. Topics with proven feasibility have been expanded into projects at the Frontier Research Laboratory (FRL), LG Energy Solution's joint research center with leading universities and research institutions in Korea and abroad, which provides additional research funding as well as in-depth support from the company's researchers.

The BIC has also delivered tangible results. For example, a patent application is underway for a physics-based model developed through a BIC project last year to improve BMS computation speed. In 2019, the FRL's research on a long-life all-solid-state battery operating at room temperature was published in the prestigious journal Science.

"By joining forces, industry and academia can drive innovation across the battery industry," said Je-Young Kim, CTO of LG Energy Solution. "Building on our differentiated technological competitiveness, LG Energy Solution will continue to accelerate its growth in the battery market."

NASA Awards LeWiz Communications Phase III Contract to Advance Spaceflight Avionics Networking

LeWiz to develop advanced Ethernet bridging technology supporting SOSA Space Architecture interoperability, reliability for future exploration missions.

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- LeWiz Communications, Inc. has been awarded a NASA Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III contract to develop an advanced avionics networking system designed to improve communications and interoperability among spacecraft electronic systems. The award builds upon LeWiz's longstanding collaboration with multiple NASA centers and the U.S. Navy in developing advanced Ethernet networking technologies for demanding aerospace and defense applications.

Addressing a Critical Spaceflight Networking Challenge

Ethernet is widely used across commercial and industrial networks. However, conventional Ethernet technology does not fully address the deterministic timing, reliability, and mission-critical performance requirements of aerospace systems. To meet these challenges, industry standards organizations (SAE International and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), have advanced two important technologies:

- Time-Triggered Ethernet (TTE): Provides predictable, deterministic communications for mission-critical systems and has been deployed aboard NASA's Orion spacecraft in support of the Artemis program.

- Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN): Extends Ethernet capabilities to support time-critical communications, improved interoperability, and advanced network management.

As spacecraft architectures evolve, the ability to connect systems operating under different networking standards becomes increasingly important.

Bridging Between TTE and TSN

Under the Phase III contract, LeWiz will develop a TTE-to-TSN Bridge System that enables communication and interoperability between devices operating across these two networking technologies. The system will support both existing and emerging avionics subsystems, helping NASA integrate new capabilities while preserving investments in established spacecraft systems. LeWiz's development effort includes a complete hardware system comprising the SOSA Space Appendix compliant chassis, backplane, networking boards and the firmware/software associated with the system. The design will address the demanding environmental and reliability requirements associated with spaceflight and applicable aerospace standards. The technology is intended to support spacecraft, space stations, and Lunar and Mars exploration architectures, where reliable, interoperable communications are essential to mission success.

Building on Years of NASA and Navy Research

The Phase III award represents an important step toward transitioning technologies developed through LeWiz's earlier SBIR Phase I and Phase II projects into operationally relevant aerospace systems. Through its work with NASA and the U.S. Navy, LeWiz has developed specialized expertise in deterministic Ethernet networking, including TTE and TSN technologies. The new contract advances that research toward an integrated networking solution designed to meet the evolving requirements of future aerospace missions.

"We are honored and excited to receive this NASA Phase III award," said Chinh Le, CEO of LeWiz Communications. "This opportunity represents an important milestone for our company and reflects years of dedicated research and development in advanced avionics networking. Contributing technology that could support future human space exploration missions is both a tremendous responsibility and a realization of our long-term vision."

Every Sticker Tells a Story: Velo and McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team® Turn Fans' Most Original Motorsport Dreams into McLaren's Mexico City Livery

LONDON, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Velo and the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1® Team have spotlighted some of the season's most original fan dreams on their car for the Mexico City Grand Prix, unveiling the 'Livery of Dreams' as a celebration of fan creativity, individuality and self-expression.

Earlier in the season, adult Velo consumers and motorsport enthusiasts from around the world were invited to share their most unique fan wishes. Those contributions have now travelled from social feeds and group chats to the global racing stage, transformed into bespoke sticker artwork across the McLaren car, paddock screens and garage for race weekend.

As well as seeing their dreams brought to life on the car itself, fans behind some of the season's most original submissions lived them for real at the McLaren Technology Centre. This month, they joined McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri for unforgettable experiences including a pottery class, matcha-making and surprising a McLaren-loving group chat with voice notes and videos. Watch these moments unfold on Velo's Instagram.

From shared jokes to once-in-a-lifetime ambitions, each sticker tells the story of an individual dream, together transforming parts of the car into a scrapbook of fandom, creativity and imagination:

- "Fan 4 Lyf" represents a wish to get matching tattoos with Oscar and Lando

- A bejewelled cap reflects a dream to bedazzle McLaren's kit and the car

- "Welcome to the Papaya Hotline" was inspired by a fan's request for McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown to record their voicemail message

The 'Livery of Dreams' marks the latest chapter in Velo and the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1® Team's 'Live Your Fandom' campaign, putting fans' individuality at the centre of the story.

However, for one fan, the dream is about to get even bigger. In Mexico, 30-year-old McLaren supporter and aspiring photographer Yasmine will step behind the lens for a once-in-a-lifetime experience with Velo.

Inspired by a love of motorsport inherited from her father and a passion for photography sparked by her mother, Yasmine will be embedded within the McLaren community throughout the weekend, documenting the stories, culture and connections that define fandom in Mexico City. From local experiences to exclusive access with the team, she'll capture the weekend through the eyes of a fan, living her dream fan experience.

Malky Brown, Global Head of Content & Partnerships at BAT, commented: "Every sticker tells the original story of a real fan dream, which is a powerful reminder that fandom isn't one-size-fits-all, it's personal, creative and unique to every fan. Through Live Your Fandom, Velo is helping turn those unique fan stories into unforgettable moments, giving them a place at the heart of the Mexico Grand Prix."

Louise McEwen, Chief Marketing Officer, McLaren Racing, said: "The Papaya Family is united by a shared passion for all our sport has to offer, and this special livery puts their stories at the heart of the team. By bringing individual ideas together in one collective design, we are celebrating the creativity of our fans on one of the biggest stages in motorsport."
