New generation of routers delivers expanded routing, automation, security and synchronization capabilities

PLANO, Texas, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Ribbon Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: RBBN), a global leader in real-time communications technology, IP routing, and optical networking solutions, today announced the expansion of its critical infrastructure portfolio. The portfolio is designed to help utilities modernize increasingly complex operational networks while maintaining the reliability, security and deterministic performance required for essential services. Ribbon's experience spans hundreds of thousands of deployed network elements across the world, supporting some of the industry's most complex networks.

Utilities face growing pressure to modernize the grid, integrate distributed energy resources, improve reliability and strengthen cybersecurity. Meeting these requirements demands communications networks that support both legacy operational technologies and next-generation digital applications. Ribbon's market-leading critical infrastructure portfolio enables utilities to evolve confidently and at their own pace while preserving operational continuity and protecting mission-critical services.

"Utilities must modernize their networks, strengthen cyber resilience and support new digital grid initiatives without disrupting core operations," said Sam Bucci, EVP and COO at Ribbon. "Our expanded portfolio enables them to bridge legacy and next-generation requirements on a single, modern platform."

The new NPT 1022M and NPT 2104 build on the proven capabilities of existing platforms including the NPT 1012D and NPT 2714. Combined with Ribbon's IP rNOS routing software, optical networking portfolio and Muse multilayer automation platform (MAP), these technologies further strengthen Ribbon's ability to support the converged IT/OT communications networks that underpin modern utility operations.

Designed to address the demanding requirements of utility network modernization, Ribbon's solutions support teleprotection, SCADA, operational voice, always-on OT operations, deterministic packet transport (MPLS-TP, SR-TE), scalable IP/MPLS networking and class D timing for precise frequency and time synchronization across the grid.

These capabilities enable utilities to introduce advanced monitoring, automation, video, distributed energy resource management and smart grid analytics while modernizing their communications infrastructure without compromising operational continuity.

Ribbon's robust features includes:

Muse, which delivers critical infrastructure-focused automation and AI-enabled capabilities that simplify deployment, operations and management.

Advanced circuit emulation legacy for 64 kbit/s PCM services alongside advanced 100GbE and 400GbE interfaces

Built-in quantum-safe security and MACsec

IEC 61850 compliance and IEEE 1613 class B certification

Fully integrated IPoDWDM

"These innovations provide a strong foundation for utilities transitioning from TDM to IP-MPLS and segment routing architectures while preserving the reliability and performance essential to their operations," Mr. Bucci added. "They enable utilities to support both legacy and modern services on a common architecture while maintaining operational continuity."

SmartConnect and Benepicks Unite to Eliminate the ICHRA "Medicare Cliff"

Bridging the gap between ICHRA and Medicare: Two industry leaders combine tax-free health allowances and zero-cost advocacy to combat rising healthcare costs for the aging workforce.

The Problem: Standard ICHRA platforms lack Medicare integration, leaving aging workers to navigate complex transitions alone while HR teams face administrative gridlock.

The Solution: SmartConnect's "Medicare Intelligence Layer" is now embedded into Benepicks' human-centered ICHRA platform, providing real-time, licensed agent support.

The Impact: Employees unlock zero-cost Medicare advocacy, lower deductibles, and richer coverage, while organizations eliminate HR headaches and average a 15% reduction in healthcare spending according to recent data.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. and SEATTLE, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- SmartConnect and Benepicks today announced a nationwide partnership to eliminate one of the most critical friction points of ICHRA platforms: the Medicare transition for 65+ employees.

As rising healthcare costs accelerate employer adoption of ICHRAs, a major structural gap has emerged. Many platforms are built for individual Marketplace insurance, leaving Medicare-eligible employees to navigate complex decisions on their own. This gap often results in costly healthcare mistakes for workers, administrative paralysis for HR departments, and client friction for benefits brokers and ICHRA administrators.

The ICHRA-Medicare gap is officially closed, setting a new industry standard of support for America's aging workforce.

Post this

This partnership bridges the gap by embedding SmartConnect's dedicated "Medicare Intelligence Layer" directly into Benepicks' human-centered ICHRA platform.

"The old way is broken," said Andrew Lydens, CEO of Benepicks. "Handing a 65-year-old a stack of Medicare mail and a deadline is a poor way to thank someone for twenty years of work. Now every Medicare-eligible employee gets a real person to call and tax-free dollars that help pay for the plan they choose."

Medicare-eligible employees on the Benepicks platform are now seamlessly introduced to SmartConnect's purpose-built ecosystem. Employees receive personalized, unbiased Medicare consultations from agents licensed in all 50 states. Consultations evaluate each individual's specific doctors, prescriptions, and financial goals.

With broad visibility across Medicare plan options, SmartConnect handles the enrollment details, transition logistics, and ongoing lifetime policy advocacy, ensuring the employee feels supported from day one and has a Medicare partner for life. Employees can then use their tax-free Benepicks ICHRA allowance toward their selected plan premiums and HR has a trusted partner for this complex topic.

The alliance combines two health benefit heavyweights with deep national reach who expect to transform the healthcare transition experience for thousands of aging workers while securing predictable, optimized costs for their employers.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be trailblazing the intersection of Medicare and ICHRA alongside Benepicks," said Michael Celi, General Manager & SVP of SmartConnect. "By integrating our Medicare solution directly with Benepicks' innovative experience, we are delivering a market-leading solution that optimizes the employer's benefits strategy while giving employees the ultimate peace of mind."

Beyond operational ease, the financial benefits are substantial. Transitioning 65+ employees to tailored Medicare plans via an ICHRA allowance routinely unlocks lower deductibles and richer coverage for workers.

Enterprise leaders and HR Directors seeking to optimize healthcare spend can learn more by visiting Benepicks.com. Employee benefits brokers, TPAs, and organizations looking to incorporate Medicare guidance into their offerings can connect at SmartConnectPlan.com.

Employees override AI they don't understand, and it's challenging organizations seeking AI return

The number one reason employees override AI in the field? When AI can't explain a decision it's made.

Most organizations still lack the data foundation needed to make AI trustworthy and profitable.

CARY, N.C., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A new SAS report with research insights by IDC uncovers what's powering the organizations winning the race to profit from their AI investments: embracing trustworthy AI measures. Organizations applying trustworthy AI practices were 15 times more likely to report strong return on investment (ROI) from their AI projects.

Orgs with trustworthy AI practices are 15 times more likely to see strong ROI, per a new SAS report.

Post this

Organizations embracing trustworthy AI measures are winning the race to achieve AI ROI.

As identified in the second annual Data and AI Impact Report: The New Economics of Trust, organizations with the strongest governance, data quality and auditability practices – a comparatively small market segment – consistently outperformed peers, reporting at least double the ROI from AI deployments. Fewer than one in 20 trustworthy AI 'laggard' organizations reported the same.

"When AI works, it's incredibly impactful," said Bryan Harris, CTO at SAS. "However, it is well documented that state-of-the-art agents can have error rates that exceed 25% on complex tasks1 – which is unacceptable in high-stakes decision-making. In order to achieve accuracy and repeatability, organizations must embed domain expertise into agentic workflows, while keeping people at the center of governance and oversight. Organizations that do this successfully will close the trust gap and gain a competitive advantage in the market with AI."

"As AI becomes more autonomous, organizations face a new challenge: maintaining confidence in systems people don't fully understand," said Chris Marshall, Vice President at IDC. "Our findings show that stronger oversight, explainability, accountability and data foundations are becoming prerequisites for scaling AI successfully."

The report's findings span three themes:

AI that can't explain itself is a major business liability

Researchers found that at many organizations, employees are increasingly hesitant to rely on systems that may or may not be able to offer correct output or explain how AI arrived at a final decision. As AI gains autonomy, this liability grows, making explainability crucial for success.

The report also explored a major hurdle to success in AI adoption: when employees' lack of trust in AI decisions leads them to override and make manual corrections. This only perpetuates the AI trustworthiness deficit, and can cost organizations time, productivity and profitability. When AI decision-making is only as good as the data it's based on, building a strong data foundation becomes pivotal for organizations looking to reduce override rates.

Key findings:

97.2% of users override AI-generated recommendations in at least some cases.

The number one reason employees decided to override AI, regardless of whether its output was considered correct, was when the AI could not provide an explanation behind its decision.

Trust falls from 76% for generative AI to 66% for agentic AI, highlighting growing concerns as AI systems gain more autonomy.

Trustworthy AI practices drive business success

The report exposes a widening ROI divide between organizations that prioritize trustworthy AI practices and those that do not. The findings suggest organizations gaining the most value from AI are not necessarily deploying different technologies but instead managing AI differently.

Key findings:

Organizations investing in trustworthy AI measures are 15 times more likely to report strong or high ROI on their AI projects (62% vs. 4%).

Organizations with the strongest trustworthy AI practices realize 1.85 times greater gains across 13 different business outcomes, including revenue growth, cost savings and customer experience.

85% of these AI leaders with trustworthy practices are increasing their investment in this area by more than 10% this year, actively widening the performance gap.

Too many organizations are losing time and money to weak data foundations

Most organizations are deploying AI on severely underdeveloped or outdated data and data infrastructure. Without a strong data foundation to support crucial transparency and explainability, organizations struggle to govern AI effectively and realize value.

Key findings:

Only 17.5% of enterprises have a fully optimized data infrastructure mature enough for the demands of agentic AI, which negatively impacts performance.

Organizations with an optimized data foundation are four times more likely to expect strong ROI from AI projects, and six times more likely to mandate the data quality and explainability controls necessary to build trust.

Take a deeper dive

The findings are based on a global survey of 2,699 decision-makers with knowledge of or influence over their company's data and AI initiatives. The survey was conducted across 28 countries and four focus industries: banking, insurance, life sciences and the public sector. The report highlights industry use cases and findings that demonstrate how leaders in each of these industries around the globe are approaching AI.

Key findings:

Banking leaders are going beyond compliance, treating robust AI governance as a competitive advantage and operational necessity – 85% of AI leader banks have established governance frameworks, compared to just 29% of laggards.

Forty-one percent of public sector leaders are increasing trustworthy AI investment by more than 20% in the year ahead, which is as fast as the most ambitious organizations across any industry.

23% of life sciences organizations have scaled AI company-wide – the highest of any industry.

Explore study findings and access the full report at sas.com/ai-impact.

What makes AI trustworthy?

Trustworthy AI is artificial intelligence designed to be reliable, fair, secure, up to regulatory standards, and able to clearly show how it arrived at a decision. Users and decision-makers at all levels within an organization must be able to hold an AI system to a pre-determined chain of accountability for incorrect or missing AI output. Any AI system must also be governed and proven to be in compliance with clear rules.

What makes an organization a trustworthy AI leader?

Within the study, organizations were scored out of 100 against five dimensions of trustworthy AI. The report's trustworthy AI leaders were organizations with an average total score of 80 or higher.

Each organization was scored across the following five trustworthy AI criteria.

Data quality and governance.

Model governance and oversight.

Explainability and fairness.

Responsible AI policy.

Audit and accountability.

Happy Birthday, "schlachthof"! "Kabarett-Institution" des BR feiert 30. Geburtstag

Stars und Wegbegleiter gratulieren - Jubiläumssendung am 17. September

Bild-Infos Download

München (ots)

Der BR-Kabarett-Klassiker "schlachthof" feiert 30. Geburtstag!

Consumers Remain Confident Recalls Protect Public Health, But Growing Caution Underscores the Need for Faster, More Precise Traceability

EWING, N.J., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Ninety-four percent of U.S. adults say they are concerned about the frequency of food recalls, up slightly from 93% in 2025, according to a new consumer survey commissioned by GS1 US. At the same time, fewer people believe food recalls are effective in protecting public health and safety, (80% compared to 85% in 2025), underscoring consumers' diminishing trust in the U.S. food supply.

The survey shows that consumers are increasingly taking broader precautions following food safety incidents:

67% have avoided an entire food product category following a recall, up from 60% in 2025.

66% are hesitant to purchase the same product or brand again, up from 59% last year.

59% have discarded recalled food even when their state or region was not affected, compared with 57% in 2025. Women are especially likely to pull back, with 71% saying they have avoided a whole category, compared with 63% of men.

While only 9% of consumers report that they would never purchase the recalled brand again, those who would consider repurchasing cited several key factors that would influence their decision, including: the time since the recall (39%), severity of the contamination (39%), and recommendations from authorities (35%).

"Food recalls are one of the ways the food safety system works to protect consumers, whether the issue involves contamination, undeclared allergens, foreign objects or mislabeling," said Bob Carpenter, president and CEO of GS1 US. "The challenge is making recall response more precise so companies can quickly identify and remove affected products while giving consumers clearer information about what is—and is not—impacted. Traceability, supported by common standards and better data sharing across the supply chain, is essential to that effort."

Regulation aimed at strengthening recall effectiveness and improving food safety will go into effect on July 20, 2028. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (U.S. FDA's) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Section 204 Food Traceability Rule is designed to improve traceability for high-risk foods, such as leafy greens, eggs and others identified on the FDA's Food Traceability List, by establishing additional recordkeeping requirements to document their movement through the supply chain. The Rule requires companies subject to the regulation to maintain Key Data Elements associated with Critical Tracking Events and provide information within 24 hours if requested by the U.S. FDA.

GS1 US is helping the food industry prepare by applying GS1 Standards to support supply chain visibility, improve data sharing and enable rapid identification of affected products through ongoing education and guidance, including the FSMA Rule 204 Implementation Guideline. Additionally, as industry adoption of two-dimensional (2D) barcodes, such as QR Codes powered by GS1, advance on product packaging to support consumer engagement and Sunrise 2027 at checkout, recall management becomes a powerful use case: Richer product data, such as batch or lot information, can help trading partners and shoppers access more-precise information when safety issues occur.

For more information about GS1 Standards and food traceability to support FSMA Rule 204, visit www.gs1us.org/fsma. To view the complete survey results, visit www.gs1us.org/foodrecall.

New app connects consumers with professional stylists for personalized fashion advice starting at $25

NEW YORK, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Personal styling has long been viewed as a luxury, reserved for celebrities and high-net-worth consumers. Today, Saturday Night Live costume designer Jill Bream and stylist Alexis Teller are changing the industry with the launch of anywear, a new mobile platform that connects users directly with professional stylists through messaging for personalized, on-demand fashion advice.

Available now on the App Store and Google Play, anywear provides access to real human stylists who help with everything from event dressing and wardrobe refreshes to fit questions and in-store shopping decisions. Sessions start at $25, making expert styling more accessible than traditional personal styling services.

Founded by New York City-based stylists Jill Bream and Alexis Teller, anywear was born from a simple observation. After decades of working in television, film, and celebrity styling, the pair found themselves constantly fielding texts from friends and colleagues seeking fashion advice. What started as an everyday occurrence quickly revealed a larger gap in the market.

"People were already coming to us every day with questions about what to wear, what to buy, and how to feel more confident in their clothes," said Alexis Teller, co-founder and CEO of anywear. "I realized that access to professional styling was still out of reach for most people. Everyone deserves to feel good in what they're wearing, and anywear makes that expertise available on-demand, at a price that's realistic for everyday life."

Unlike fashion technology platforms built on algorithms and AI-generated recommendations, anywear is human-first by design. What anywear offers is access to experienced professionals who understand the individual, the occasion, the fit issue, and the nuances an algorithm may miss. The only role of an anywear stylist is to help consumers make better decisions and feel more confident in what they wear.

The platform offers two service options:

Signature Styling ($55): A 30-minute session designed for larger styling goals, including special events, wardrobe refreshes, workwear planning, seasonal transitions, and fit guidance. Customers receive a personalized action plan with shopping recommendations, wardrobe organization advice, or styling strategies.

Quick Fix ($25): An on-demand styling session for immediate questions, such as outfit checks, shopping decisions, closet restyling, or occasion dressing.

The launch comes as consumers increasingly seek trusted, personal recommendations in an overwhelming digital shopping landscape. Traditional styling can cost hundreds per session, while online advice often feels generic or influenced by brand partnerships. anywear closes that gap with expert, unbiased guidance that fits real schedules and budgets.

RedHill Announces Transformational Acquisition of Commercialization Rights to Ferring's Rebyota® and Clenpiq®

Together with the previously announced Talicia® strategic divestiture, the acquisition from Ferring of commercialization rights to two larger, proprietary, established gastrointestinal (GI) FDA-approved drugs that together generated approximately $37.5 million in 2025 net sales, completes a major strategic repositioning of RedHill's commercial GI business

The divestiture of Talicia and the acquisition of the new GI products from Ferring create a catalyst for commercial growth through a materially larger GI business under RedHill's control, with a significantly stronger liquidity position and provides additional growth and expansion opportunities

Under the terms of the agreement, RedHill obtained the exclusive commercialization rights for an upfront payment to Ferring of $12 million plus potential future milestones and tiered royalties.

The $12 million upfront payment is fully funded through the previously announced $18 million Talicia divestment, with RedHill securing exclusive global and U.S. commercialization rights to Ferring's Rebyota® and Clenpiq®, respectively - two synergistic, revenue-generating, FDA-approved GI drugs

Rebyota is a proprietary, first and only single-dose FDA-approved Fecal Microbiota Transplant (FMT for prevention of recurrent C. diff infection (rCDI). FDA-approved in 2022 and Health Canada-approved in 2025, Rebyota, was granted a Breakthrough Therapy and received Orphan Drug designations and generated approximately $16.9 million in 2025 U.S. net sales

Proprietary Clenpiq, a ready-to-use (no mixing required) low-volume bowel preparation on the U.S. market, generated $20.6 million in U.S. 2025 net sales with minimal promotion

RALEIGH, N.C. and TEL AVIV, Israel, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- RedHill Biopharma Ltd. (Nasdaq: RDHL) ("RedHill" or the "Company"), a specialty biopharmaceutical company, today announced the transformational acquisition of exclusive global and U.S. commercialization rights to Rebyota and Clenpiq, from Ferring Pharmaceuticals ("Ferring"), as part of Ferring's ongoing strategic refocusing.

Dror Ben-Asher, RedHill's Chief Executive Officer, said: "We have executed a clear strategic sequence. We have monetized Talicia for $18 million cash upfront, plus $35 million in potential upside, used $12 million to secure commercialization rights to two established, proprietary, FDA-approved gastrointestinal drugs, that collectively generated approximately $37.5 million in U.S. net sales in 2025, and emerged with a materially larger, fully controlled commercial business and a stronger liquidity position. Rebyota and Clenpiq are expected to generate a positive cash contribution to RedHill. This, combined with RedHill's experienced and lean commercial team and proven development capabilities, creates a scalable foundation for further growth, including additional acquisition of complementary revenue-generating products." Mr. Ben-Asher added: "We thank Ferring for a smooth process to date and look forward to a successful collaboration."

Under the terms of the agreement, RedHill obtained an exclusive global commercialization license of Rebyota and an exclusive U.S. commercialization license of Clenpiq, for an upfront payment to Ferring of $12 million, plus tiered royalties on net sales and potential milestones. Ferring retains its Rebyota manufacturing facilities, and Ferring will continue to supply Rebyota through the term of the agreement.

"Rebyota is a first-in-class microbiota-based therapy for prevention of recurrent Clostridioides difficile (C. diff) infection (rCDI) in individuals 18 years of age and older following antibiotic treatment for rCDI. FDA-approved in 2022, it generated approximately $16.9 million in U.S. net sales in 2025 through its clinical profile, broad coverage and an established customer base of approximately 600 active accounts," said Rick Scruggs, RedHill's Chief Commercial Officer. "Clenpiq, a ready-to-drink low-volume bowel preparation on the U.S. market, delivered $20.6 million in net sales in 2025, with minimal promotion. Together the two assets give RedHill a significantly stronger commercial growth engine in both the U.S. and other new territories."

C. diff (CDI) infection is a distressing and life-threatening condition – in developed countries it is the most common cause of healthcare-associated (HA) diarrhea[1]. An estimated 3.6 million cases of CDI occur globally each year, including approximately half a million cases in the U.S. 30,000 Americans die every year due to CDI[2], with a global mortality rate of 1-in-10, rising to almost 1-in-3 in high-risk settings1. In the U.S., up to approximately 165,000 CDI cases result in one or more recurrences[3], indicating the need for use of prevention strategies.

Rebyota's one-time administration, which requires no fasting, bowel prep or extended treatment timeframe, has demonstrated more than a 70% success rate at preventing rCDI[4]. An aging population and accompanying increasing hospital-acquired vulnerabilities will likely increase this need. A streamlined ordering and reimbursement process is already in place for physicians, and broad and improving U.S. payer coverage means that 93% of lives have coverage including 43% with coverage after 1st recurrence[5].

Rebyota, which was granted, Breakthrough Therapy and Orphan Drug designations - with exclusivities and other patent protections that could run to 2036, provides multiple growth opportunities, including recent approval in Canada. The existing approvals also provide the potential for additional approvals in other territories.

Colonoscopy is the cornerstone of GI practice, with more than 15 million colonoscopies performed in the U.S. annually[6]. This number is rising, with follow-up needed after noninvasive screening tests that yield a positive result, an aging population, and guidelines that recommend testing at age 45 instead of age 50, contributing to an increased need for colonoscopy. Bowel preparation is not a pleasant process and is often poorly performed.

Clenpiq is a ready-to-drink low-volume bowel prep. Clenpiq is readily available to patients and has broad commercial and government payer coverage: More than 108 million lives (63%) with unrestricted (no prior approval) have commercial coverage, including 57 million (33%) with preferred position. 23m lives (41%) of Medicare Part D lives have unrestricted access to Clenpiq, including 12m (21%) lives with preferred position5.

RedHill was advised by Morningstar Law Group and Greenberg Traurig LLP on this transaction.

MADRID, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Results of a new study show that Elissara®, a nutricosmetic by Monteloeder, SL, a subsidiary of SuanNutra, SA, exhibits multifactorial activity associated with healthy hair growth and hair follicle function. The four-botanical polyphenol-enriched ingredient demonstrated support of hair follicle function and hair resilience.

Hair appearance, and particularly hair loss, is a major concern affecting millions of men and women worldwide and has a substantial impact on self-esteem and social confidence.

Beyond Scalp: New study Suggests Role for Elissara® in Hair Growth

"Consumers are increasingly concerned about their hair's appearance and are seeking natural, science-backed solutions that support hair vitality," explains Mariana Ortega, Science Marketing Manager for SuanNutra. "Supplement brands are responding to the growing demand for hair health solutions. The category is evolving from multivitamins targeting hair, skin, and nails toward more advanced, targeted products. We empower supplement brands with a complete beauty-from-within toolkit, enabling them to develop next-generation solutions that complement consumers' healthy lifestyles and go beyond topical care."

"Elissara is a great example of Visible Radiance™, our branded beauty-from-within line. "This science-driven platform designed as 'plug-in' line for beauty brands," adds Ortega.

Elissara® is a proprietary combination of four herbs formulated to work together to support the scalp's environment for more vibrant and healthier looking hair. It includes standardized extracts of lemon verbena (Lippia citriodora), olive leaf (Olea europaea), Japanese pagoda tree (Styphnolobium japonicum), and rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis).

The preparation delivers a specific fingerprint of bioactive compounds, including: verbascoside, oleuropein, hydroxytyrosol, quercetin, and rosemary-derived diterpenes (carnosol and carnosic acid). Together, these phenolic compounds provide a broad spectrum of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity

Getting to the root of hair growth

This three-pronged preclinical trial, published in the August 2026 issue of the journal Biomolecules involved laboratory assessments of human dermal papilla cells and scalp tissue samples exposed to environmental stressors such as pollution and UV light. Results showed that Elissara® influenced multiple biological pathways associated with healthy follicle function and the hair growth cycle. In human dermal papilla cells, Elissara® increased cell proliferation to approximately 2.5 times that of untreated controls.

Elissara® increased both collagen and signaling proteins associated with healthy hair-follicle function, including markers involved in cell proliferation, structural support and follicular signalling in human scalp explants. Elissara® was shown to help preserve growth-signalling IGF-1 protein levels important for hair-follicle development under environmental stress as well as reduce markers of oxidative damage, in scalp tissue exposed to PM2.5 pollution and UVA-induced environmental stress.

Beauty from skin to strand

"Elissara was initially developed as a natural inner beauty botanical formula to support the skin against pollution and UV exposure," informs Daniel González-Hedström, PhD, R&D Director for SuanNutra." It later exhibited scalp health benefits in a clinical study involving 66 women where daily oral supplementation significantly improved scalp moisturization and hydration, and reduced sebum levels and scalp redness. The benefits were also reflected in participants' self-assessments, with almost 79% reporting healthier-looking hair and 76% noting enhanced shine. Close to 80% of them reported that their hair felt stronger. This is what inspired us to further explore its potential in supporting hair growth."

The science of hair growth

Hair growth and follicular function are complex, shaped by a mix of genetics, hormonal changes, and inflammation, alongside lifestyle and environmental factors that can influence hair follicles. Androgens, particularly dihydrotestosterone (DHT), are known to contribute to shortening the anagen (growth) phase and shrinking hair follicles, while declining estrogen levels in women, particularly during menopause, may lead to hair thinning. Preclinical research showed that Elissara® may help support a healthier hormonal environment around the hair follicle by modulating pathways linked to DHT.

"Rather than relying on a single pathway, Elissara® combines four standardised, polyphenol-rich botanicals selected to provide complementary biological activity," says González-Hedström. "We are gradually unearthing Elissara®'s potential benefits on hair resilience. The findings of this preclinical trial provide new insights into its pathways of action and help us understand how the composition may support healthy follicular function. The next step is to investigate whether these mechanistic findings translate into measurable hair benefits in a clinical setting."

Previously marketed under the name "Zeropollution®," Elissara® is backed by two clinical trials demonstrating its positive impact on scalp condition and the hair's appearance. At a daily dose of 250 mg, it is available in various formats including tablets, capsules, or softgels.
