20 Jahre „Die Nordreportage“ – NDR feiert die Erfolgsreihe mit Kinotour und Jubiläumsprogramm – Tickets gewinnen

Hamburg (ots)

America Haunts announces the nation's most celebrated haunted attractions open between Sept. 11 and Oct. 2 — giving scare-seekers a reason to hit the road and launch Halloween early

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Why wait until October to have fun getting scared? While Halloween merchandise has been creeping onto store shelves since July, the real kickoff to Halloween comes when America's best haunted attractions open their doors, and serious haunt fans know there's something special about being there for the season opener.

America's most acclaimed haunted attractions open for the 2026 season.

Eighteen America Haunts member attractions open for the 2026 season between September 11 and October 2, giving thrill-seekers a jump on the season and a chance to experience some of the country's most celebrated haunted attractions before Halloween is in full swing.

First Fright is opening night- the anticipation of being among the first through the gates, seeing the new surprises, and experiencing the scares before the season is "poof" already over! For fans who plan their Halloween around haunted attractions, it's a reason to start the season with a road trip, a staycation, or a weekend adventure close to home. Get it on your calendar and be ready for many screams and laughter, as Amber Arnett Bequeaith, spokesperson for America Haunts, advises on the fall ritual.

America Haunts is the nation's premier haunted attraction association, representing some of the country's longest-running, largest, and most technically sophisticated haunted experiences. Collectively, America Haunts members entertain more than one million thrill-seekers annually.

"In October, haunts are busy, but our biggest haunt fans love the thrill of First Fright. It's about being there opening night and getting the bragging rights to be one of the first to conquer your fears going through these acclaimed haunts," said Arnett-Bequeaith. "It is also fun to kick off your fall holiday early and fit them all in. Families are busy, and our members are destinations in their own right, so opening night can be the perfect excuse for a road trip. Find one within driving distance, book a hotel, explore the community, have dinner, get scared, and make a weekend of it. All before the rest of the goblins are out and about!"

For those ready to make First Fright a fall tradition, the options span the country. From coast to coast, these top haunted attractions offer a range of opening dates for the season—making this list road-trip ready for serious scare-seekers.

The SOLION-100 combines GMDSS, Ship Security Alert System and Long-Range Identification and Tracking capabilities in a single Iridium Certus 100 terminal for newbuild and retrofit vessels.

HAMBURG, Germany, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Iridium Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: IRDM), a leading provider of global voice, data, aircraft surveillance, and positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) satellite services, and Furuno Electric Co., Ltd. today announced Furuno will offer its new SOLION-100 terminal for Iridium GMDSS. This new Furuno maritime safety terminal is built on Iridium® Certus 100 technology and integrates GMDSS, Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) and Long-Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) capabilities in a single platform.

SOLION-100 Terminal for Iridium GMDSS

Iridium GMDSS entered service in 2020 following recognition by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), becoming the first new provider of satellite GMDSS services since the system was established. It delivers regulated maritime distress and safety communications through Iridium's low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellite network, with global coverage, including the polar regions.

Furuno's addition of Iridium GMDSS to its portfolio gives shipowners and shipyards greater choice in selecting maritime safety equipment for newbuild and retrofit vessels.

"Furuno has been committed to supporting safer navigation at sea for decades, and maritime safety remains at the heart of what we do," said Kiyoshi Furuno, Head of Marine Electronic Products Division and Sales Management Department General Manager, Furuno. "The new SOLION-100 terminal for Iridium GMDSS allows us to strengthen our safety communications portfolio and provide customers with LEO satellite GMDSS technology alongside the Furuno navigation and communications systems they already rely on."

"Furuno has a long history of supporting maritime safety, and its addition of Iridium GMDSS brings together that expertise with the global coverage of the Iridium network," said Wouter Deknopper, vice president and general manager, maritime, Iridium. "Together, we are giving shipowners and shipyards another way to equip vessels with reliable maritime safety communications, including in the polar regions."

Iridium GMDSS is designed to support crews throughout a maritime safety event, from receiving navigational and meteorological warnings through Iridium SafetyCast® to initiating a distress alert and establishing Safety Voice communications with a Rescue Coordination Center. A single-button distress alert transmits the vessel's identification, status and position, while Safety Voice enables crews to communicate directly with rescue authorities to provide additional information about the situation.

The SOLION-100 is expected to be commercially available for retrofit applications in late 2026, with availability for newbuild projects expected to follow in 2027.

Iridium is exhibiting this week at SMM Hamburg. Visit booth Hall B6 Stand 313 to learn more about Iridium PNT, Iridium GMDSS, and other critical maritime safety services.

Ripple and SettleMint partner to provide digital asset custody and tokenization for financial institutions in Asia Pacific

New integration between Ripple Custody and SettleMint's Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform gives regulated financial institutions a single, connected foundation to issue, manage, and operate digital assets across their full lifecycle.

SINGAPORE, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Ripple, the leading provider of blockchain-based enterprise solutions across traditional and digital finance, and SettleMint, a global leader in Digital Asset Lifecycle Management, have announced today a strategic partnership offering regulated financial institutions a unified solution to custody, issue, and manage tokenized assets across their full lifecycle. The partnership integrates Ripple Custody, Ripple's institutional-grade digital asset custody infrastructure, and SettleMint's DALP (Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform).

Ripple Custody provides institutional-grade digital asset custody infrastructure and has continued to expand its capabilities over the past year through new partnerships with Securosys and Figment, integration with Chainalysis, and the acquisition of Palisade, simplifying procurement and giving banks, fintechs and corporates a faster, less complex way to secure digital assets, stablecoins and real-world assets.

In parallel, SettleMint's DALP offers an institutional-grade, entirely composable digital asset lifecycle platform, designed for regulated financial institutions, market infrastructure operators, and sovereign entities. DALP is already in use across production and pre-production programmes with institutions in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, and provides these institutions the ability to design, issue, and manage tokenized real-world assets. Unlike point solutions that only handle token creation, DALP serves as a unified, governed control plane that manages the entire lifecycle of an asset post-launch. Issuance, compliance, custody, settlement, and servicing are managed on a single platform, without multi-vendor assembly, without reconciliation gaps, and with a controlled transition from pilot to production.

The combination of Ripple's custody solution and SettleMint's DALP platform means an institution can hold and manage digital assets in a regulated, compliant and safe way across the full lifecycle through one integrated solution, instead of operating across separate vendors for custody, issuance, compliance and servicing. This includes compliance and permissioning controls required by heavily regulated institutions.

Ripple and SettleMint have already commenced their partnership offering in Asia and plan to extend this to other markets as institutional demand develops.

The integration of digital assets and tokenized financial products has become essential for the future of banking and the traditional financial sector. In Boston Consulting Group's report, "The Future of Digital Assets," published in May 2026, the firm identifies the shift toward digital assets as a fundamental restructuring of financial infrastructure, projecting that tokenized real-world assets could reach $88 trillion by 2035. The report warns that traditional banks failing to adapt to this digital shift face a potential 30% reduction in profits by 2035.

The report also noted that banks can leverage tokenized products to transition from traditional intermediation to infrastructure orchestration, creating new revenue streams through tokenized funds, automated collateral mobility, and advanced custody solutions.

Fiona Murray, Managing Director, Asia Pacific at Ripple, said: "Financial institutions across Asia Pacific are putting digital assets to work. They are asking how to do more without stitching together separate solutions for custody, issuance and governance. This partnership gives them the foundation to roll out digital assets and future-proof them from there: Ripple Custody to hold and govern the asset, and SettleMint to manage its entire lifecycle."

"Global capital markets are moving fully on-chain, and that shift only works when digital asset custody and lifecycle management operate as one system rather than two," said Adam Popat, CEO of SettleMint. "Combining Ripple Custody and  DALP gives institutions that single foundation, and this partnership lets us bring it to regulated markets globally."

About SettleMint

SettleMint, headquartered in Leuven, Belgium, with offices in the UAE, Singapore, and Japan, is the company behind DALP, the entirely composable Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform. DALP enables financial institutions, market infrastructure operators, and governments to build, deploy, and manage digital assets and blockchain applications at scale.

About Ripple

Founded in 2012, Ripple is the leading provider of blockchain-based enterprise solutions across traditional and digital finance. Its solutions span global payments, custody, liquidity, and treasury management, serving as a one-stop shop for moving, storing, exchanging, and managing value. Ripple's stablecoin, RLUSD, and the cryptocurrency XRP underpinning these solutions, allow Ripple and its customers to shape the modern financial system.

CHONGQING, China, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A news report from Xinhua Silk Road:

From "leading in scale" to "quality-led transformative growth", the shift currently affecting China's auto industry was brought under the spotlight during the recent 2026 Automotive New Quality Productive Force Development Forum.

Chinese auto leaders seek solutions for transformative growth at forum held in Chongqing

Organized by China Economic Information Service and China Certification & Inspection Group, the event, held in Jiulongpo District of Chongqing, attracted a cohort of business representatives from the auto manufacturing and intelligent driving sectors.

As electric vehicle output and intelligent driving burgeon domestically, transformative growth instead of economy of scale remains a critical issue particularly for Chongqing, a leading auto- and motorcycle-producing city on its way to becoming a high-end player in the global value chain.

Regarding industry pain points such as high intelligent driving penetration yet low user trust, He Gang, vice president of Changan Automobile, stressed the significance of enhancing users' sense of safety.

Via its all-weather dark-room laboratory and world models for smart driving, the Chongqing-based company is improving driving stability under extreme conditions and enabling advance detection of hazardous obstacles to build a three-pronged safety system.

He Liyang, president of Seres, outlined a set of principles centered on safety and performance that the company has consistently upheld in its development, saying "safety is the utmost luxury worth pursuing."

To reduce homogeneous competition, Cao Li, senior vice president of Leapmotor, highlighted the importance of full-domain self-reliant research and manufacturing to navigate industry cycles.

With more than 65 percent of core parts developed and made by itself, the company, which owns 18 super factories, has built a closed-loop industrial cluster to keep quality, cost, and iteration efficiency fully under control.

In the face of industry controversies over powertrain technology routes, Wu Jian, a member of GAC Group's strategy committee, said that traditional overseas powertrain technology routes have limitations in terms of intelligent adaptation.

Powertrains with Chinese characteristics can only be developed by delving into technologies that adapt to local scenarios and integrate well with vehicle intelligent systems, noted Wu, adding that after 20 years of independent R&D, the company now boasts three powertrain technology series for range-extended, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid electric vehicles.

As for "going global", Wu Yongqiao, president of Bosch's intelligent driving and control system division in China, said the company's smart driving business is deeply involved in local innovation while aligning with overseas laws and regulations to facilitate the global expansion of Chinese auto companies.

To leverage technology for social good, Tang Guomei, deputy president of Sevnce Robotics, said the company focuses on resolving industry security dilemmas in special scenarios.

Addressing industry dilemmas such as insufficient cognitive generalization and causal reasoning in the evolution of intelligent driving systems, Yang Mu, CTO of Chongqing Afari Technology, a Chongqing-headquartered smart driving business, said the company is building a native intelligent driving base model by integrating large language models with intelligent driving models to strengthen smart vehicles' capabilities in scene understanding, logical reasoning, and risk prediction.

Under the state's NC Innovations Waiver, eligible families in Alliance Health's seven-county region can now request Floreo's virtual reality therapy platform through their care manager.

CHEVY CHASE, Md., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- North Carolina has approved Medicaid Waiver reimbursement for virtual reality (VR) services delivered by Floreo – the pioneering developer of VR-based therapy – for neurodivergent youth and adults supported by the NC Innovations Waiver.

The state's NC Innovations Waiver covers a wide range of home and community-based supports for individuals with intellectual or development disabilities— from help with daily living activities and job coaching to assistive technology and caregiver support. The NC Innovations waiver is an NC Medicaid program that "waives" (does not consider) some of the usual Medicaid eligibility requirements, like the family's income. Any North Carolinian with autism or other intellectual and development disabilities can apply regardless of age or insurance status.

"North Carolina has shown a real commitment to practical, access-oriented support for the neurodivergent community, and this expansion of the NC Innovations Waiver is a great example," said Vijay Ravindran, CEO and founder of Floreo. "As a result, many neurodivergent individuals across the state will now have a new, tangible way to build the confidence and independence they need for everyday life."

Floreo's approval as a vendor applies to the seven counties managed by Alliance Health: Cumberland, Durham, Harnett, Johnston, Mecklenburg, Orange, and Wake, the state's most populous county. North Carolina families in this region who are eligible for the NC Innovations Waiver can now request reimbursement for Floreo's VR therapy platform directly through their Care Manager.

Floreo helps neurodivergent youth and adults build social, behavioral, and daily life skills by practicing real-world scenarios — like navigating public transportation, interacting with law enforcement, multi-tasking at work, or raising a hand to answer a question in the classroom — in a safe, immersive virtual environment. North Carolina joins a growing list of states that provide Medicaid waiver reimbursement for Floreo's services, including Tennessee, New York, and Wisconsin.

As the first VR autism technology to receive the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) breakthrough device designation, Floreo is backed by a growing body of research conducted with world-renowned programs like the Center for Autism Research at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the National Institutes of Health. Floreo's VR curriculum augments traditional therapies and improves outcomes for neurodivergent individuals and individuals with developmental disabilities.

Families and care providers in the Alliance Health region interested in incorporating Floreo into a support plan should contact their care manager to learn more.

About Floreo

Floreo's vision is a world that is open and accessible for every neurodiverse person. Through immersive virtual reality experiences, Floreo creates safe, engaging environments where learners can build skills and tools they can apply in their everyday lives. Floreo's virtual reality platform teaches social, behavioral, communication, and life skills for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other neurodiverse conditions. New Direct-to-Consumer OTT Service: New Zealand-based Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Limited (PCBL), operator of Pasifika TV, has selected Eluvio for a new direct-to-consumer streaming service scheduled to launch later this year

A Platform with Purpose: Focusing on Pacific media sustainability and story sovereignty, content will come from the consortium of 30+ Pacific broadcasters and local content creators, backed by a revenue-share model that returns value directly to the region's media ecosystem

Built on Eluvio's Global Broadcast Fabric: New service to provide live and VOD distribution, monetization, and frame-accurate inline AI without file duplication or use of legacy media clouds and CDNs

BERKELEY, Calif., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Ahead of IBC Show 2026, Eluvio today announced that it was selected to power Pasifika+, a new direct-to-consumer streaming service for Pacific Cooperation Broadcasting Limited (PCBL), that will extend the collective reach of Pasifika TV and its media partners to Pacific Island communities and fans across the globe. Eluvio's Content Fabric will provide Pasifika+ with a unified zero-copy platform for broadcast, streaming and AI video intelligence from a single ingest workflow, without creating file copies at any stage, and superseding the use of legacy media clouds or CDNs. Specific details about pricing and availability of Pasifika+ will be made by PCBL later this year.

Eluvio to Power Pasifika+:

Formed to strengthen partnerships between New Zealand and the Pacific Islands through television broadcasting, PCBL delivers Pasifika TV to a growing collective of more than 30 free-to-air broadcast partners across the Pacific. Pasifika+ will extend that mission via a direct-to-consumer streaming service globally for the first time. Pasifika+ aims to connect diaspora audiences in New Zealand, Australia, the U.S., and elsewhere back to their home islands, preserve and share Pacific culture, sport, news, and original entertainment, and provide the region's broadcasters and content creators a new, equitable revenue stream.

"Pasifika+ is a platform with purpose — it's about giving every fan of Pacific content, especially our diaspora, access to the unique stories, news, and entertainment to stay connected to home, while opening a new, equitable revenue stream back to the 30+ broadcasters and local content creators who make our stories possible. Beyond entertainment value, Pasifika+ will provide our regional media partners with a powerful new way to advocate for self-determination, sovereignty, and government accountability, while educating the rest of the world about the beauty of and issues facing Pacific island nations," said Natasha Meleisea, Chief Executive Officer, PCBL. "Therefore, after evaluating numerous alternatives, we selected Eluvio because they aligned with our aspirations, had the most cost-effective, easy-to-use, and technologically advanced platform to securely scale into a global operation, while providing us a level of monetization and viewer insights never before possible. We look forward to partnering with Eluvio to launch Pasifika+ in the months ahead."

"PCBL is a mission-driven organization with the trust of Pacific broadcasters, regional production companies, and content creators, and we're honored that the Eluvio Content Fabric, serving as a Global Broadcast Fabric, will enable them to distribute and monetize their exceptional regional news, sports, documentaries, and entertainment globally for the first time," said Michelle Munson, CEO and Co-founder, Eluvio. "In addition to traditional live and VOD programming, Pasifika+ will also deploy our Inline AI services to expand their content pipeline, using Eluvio's AI-enabled analysis, clipping, search, and content composition, to scale efficiently from day one without requiring additional original production. For an organization carrying this much cultural and economic responsibility, having zero-copy distribution, monetization, and AI unified on a single platform isn't just efficient, it gives PCBL the freedom to focus on their audiences and creators well into the future."

A Unified Platform for Streaming and AI Video Intelligence

Eluvio's Content Fabric receives live or VOD source feeds and dynamically ingests, transcodes, publishes and generates just-in-time streaming output directly to viewers. Streaming is provided at full source resolution, including HD and 4K, with dynamic automatic adaptation to the user's available bandwidth with low latency HLS/DASH delivery, unlimited multi-view, and "zero-copy" live-to-VoD and fast DVR playback. Pasifika TV will provide a white-label browser, mobile, and connected TV application to its viewers built using the Eluvio Media Wallet platform (full turnkey OTT Suite). The platform also provides subscriptions, pay-per-view, and/or ad-supported monetization, while providing end-to-end content security and anti-piracy protection including strong encryption, DRM, forensic watermarking, and dynamic authorization per-offering including geo blocking and rights control. All features are built-in allowing for a hyper-efficient, tamper-proof distribution, fast and easy purchasing, and on-screen authenticity proofs for the viewer.

In addition, the Eluvio Video Intelligence Editor (EVIE) and AI-assisted tools provide frame-accurate, in-line analysis, indexing, and search, composition, and transformation such as live vertical video, all without file copies or re-transcoding. Finally, Eluvio Content Analytics provides complete transparency of source-to-viewer audience, QoS, and sales analytics.
