While much of the obesity care industry reports weight loss during treatment, few organizations have published objective data showing what happens after medication use ends.

CRANSTON, R.I., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Abacus Health Solutions is among the first organizations in the obesity care industry to report objective, long-term weight loss maintenance outcomes. While weight loss results have become increasingly common, long-term maintenance data remains scarce. Most new research is showing that participants and GLP-1 utilizers quickly regain most of the weight after discontinuing GLP-1 medication therapy.

Healthy Weight Program vs. GLP-1 Clinical Trial

Through its Healthy Weight Program, Abacus tracked participants for 24 months using connected scales that provide objective weight measurements. Results show participants achieved an average of 21.0% weight loss after 12 months and maintained an average of 18.0% weight loss at 24 months, one year after discontinuing GLP-1 anti-obesity medication.

The program was built around decades of research showing that long-term success depends on more than medication alone. Sustainable weight management is driven by consistent behaviors, including regular self-monitoring, physical activity, balanced nutrition, and ongoing engagement. The Healthy Weight Program reinforces these known predictors of success throughout the participant journey, helping members develop habits that support lasting results.

As GLP-1 medications continue to reshape obesity treatment, employers and health plans are increasingly asking what happens when treatment ends. While many programs report weight loss achieved during active therapy, few have published objective long-term maintenance outcomes. This lack of evidence has created a significant gap in understanding whether weight loss can be sustained after medication discontinuation and has contributed to the belief that continued GLP-1 use is the only path to long-term weight loss success.

"The obesity care industry has become very good at measuring weight loss during treatment, but far less is known about what happens after treatment ends," said Dr. David K Ahern. "Long-term maintenance is the concern employers, health plans, and patients care about most. By tracking outcomes for 24 months, we're providing evidence that sustainable weight loss is possible when medication is combined with behavioral support and a dedicated maintenance strategy."

These findings represent an important step forward in understanding how individuals can sustain weight loss after active GLP-1 treatment. Through its Healthy Weight and Keep-it-Off® Program, Abacus Health Solutions is addressing a critical evidence gap in obesity care by publishing long-term maintenance outcomes that remain uncommon across the industry. The results demonstrate that meaningful weight loss can be maintained over time through a combination of medication therapy, behavioral support, and a dedicated maintenance phase, providing employers and health plans with valuable insight into achieving lasting health outcomes while managing healthcare costs.

Körber achieves Platinum in the 2026 EcoVadis sustainability rating

Körber AG

HAMBURG, Germany, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- With its fourth consecutive EcoVadis assessment, Körber has improved once again and, after receiving Gold last year, has now achieved Platinum. This places the global technology company among the top 1 percent of all companies assessed worldwide.

As part of a voluntary EcoVadis assessment in 2026, Körber was awarded the Platinum Medal for its sustainability performance. By moving from Gold to Platinum, the global technology company underscores its continuous progress in sustainability management. Körber ranks among the top 1 percent of assessed companies overall and in all four rated categories.

"The Platinum award is a great shared success made possible by many teams across Körber worldwide. It shows the level of commitment, responsibility, and perseverance with which sustainability is being advanced throughout our company. The fact that we were able to improve even further and move from Gold last year to Platinum now makes this recognition especially valuable. It confirms our ambition to firmly embed sustainability in our business and make its impact measurable," says Michaela Thiel, Head of Sustainability at Körber.

EcoVadis is one of the world's leading sustainability rating platforms and assesses companies in the categories Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. With Platinum status, Körber confirms its position as a responsibly acting company with high standards across all key sustainability dimensions. At the same time, the rating is becoming increasingly important for customers and business partners, as high sustainability standards are more and more often required in tenders and supply chains.

The progress confirmed in the EcoVadis rating is also reflected in current developments across the three ESG dimensions of Environment, Social, and Governance, which are also documented in the Körber Sustainability Report 2025:

Environment: In 2025, Körber reduced its greenhouse gas emissions across scopes 1, 2, and 3 by 14 percent compared with 2024. In addition, the company calculated the CO2e footprint for all machines delivered to customers in the Business Area Technologies for the first time in 2025. This creates greater transparency around the material-based emissions of its products and provides an important basis for future improvements. The introduction of Salesforce Net Zero Cloud also further strengthened the data foundation for capturing and analyzing sustainability metrics. These advances are helping Körber achieve its net-zero goal across the entire value chain by 2040.

Social: Körber also further expanded its responsibilities in the social field. Together with suppliers, a total of 314 development plans to reduce human rights and ESG risks were launched in 2025, 83 of which have already been successfully completed. In addition, a new group-wide guideline on health and occupational safety strengthens safe and health-promoting working conditions at our sites worldwide.

Governance: In the area of responsible corporate governance, Körber further strengthened its cybersecurity measures. More than 90 percent of its IT infrastructure is monitored around the clock by the Cyber Defense Center, with all business-critical areas fully covered. This helps detect threats early, contain incidents quickly, and reduce risks sustainably. In addition, Körber received a Platinum rating in the CyberVadis assessment for the second time in 2026 – further proof of its high standards in information security and cyber resilience.

"The Platinum award from EcoVadis is far more than an external seal of approval for Körber. It underlines that sustainability is strategically embedded in the company and put into practice in concrete ways through the daily actions of our teams worldwide," emphasizes Michaela Thiel.

The collaboration brings together flight-critical systems, aerospace engineering and certification expertise to support Shunya's path to first flight

BENGALURU, India, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Tata Elxsi, a global leader in design and technology services, and Sarla Aviation, an advanced air mobility company, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development of Shunya, Sarla Aviation's six-seater plus one pilot electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

The partnership brings together Sarla Aviation's vision for urban air mobility and Tata Elxsi's expertise in aerospace, software and flight critical digital engineering to support the aircraft's development, testing and certification.

The MoU was signed at Sarla Aviation's newly inaugurated headquarters in Bengaluru in the presence of Manoj Raghavan, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Elxsi; Adrian Schmidt, Co-Founder & CEO, Sarla Aviation; and Rakesh Gaonkar, Co-Founder & CTO, Sarla Aviation, along with members of the aerospace and engineering teams from both organisations.

Under the collaboration, Tata Elxsi will provide engineering support across avionics such as flight control systems, software integration, testing, verification and validation, and certification, while Sarla Aviation will lead the design, development and type certification of the Shunya platform. The engagement also creates opportunities to extend support across sensor fusion based navigation software, industrial and structural design, and airworthiness test support.

Designed for 300 Km+ range of flight operations, Shunya combines vertical take-off and landing capability with fixed-wing cruise efficiency, enabling runway-independent operations and improved propulsion efficiency.

The aircraft's first flight is targeted within the next 18 to 24 months, with certification activities expected to follow. The development reflects the growing role of Indian Aerospace companies in next-generation aircraft and advanced air mobility platforms.

Adrian Schmidt, Co-Founder & CEO, Sarla Aviation, said: "Building a new class of aircraft is not simply an engineering challenge. It requires bringing together people and organisations willing to solve problems that have never been solved before in this market. Tata Elxsi's experience in complex aerospace systems gives us access to capabilities that are critical as we take Shunya from concept to reality. What excites me most about this collaboration is that it brings together two teams that believe advanced air mobility can move from ambition to everyday infrastructure much sooner than many think."

Manoj Raghavan, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Elxsi, said: "Every major shift in transportation has been enabled by a combination of engineering innovation and ecosystem readiness. Advanced air mobility is no different, and Sarla Aviation's vision for Shunya reflects the ambition driving this transformation. Initiatives like this create opportunities to apply expertise built across aerospace, mobility and digital technologies to entirely new aviation platforms."

Jayaraj Rajapandian, Head of Aerospace, Tata Elxsi, added: "Shunya is a reminder of how quickly aerospace innovation is evolving in shaping the Technology landscape in India. As aircraft become increasingly fly-by-wire, electrified and connected, entirely new opportunities are emerging to rethink how people, goods and critical services move. We are excited to work alongside Sarla Aviation as they take this vision forward and contribute to the next phase of its journey."

Beyond Shunya, the partnership is expected to help strengthen capabilities relevant to logistics, air ambulance services and defence-related applications.

For Tata Elxsi, Advanced Air Mobility is a natural extension of the Connected, Autonomous and Electrification transformation reshaping transportation. By bringing together expertise from aerospace and mobility, Tata Elxsi is helping build the foundations for advanced air mobility platforms in the country.

Scan the QR code to explore the "Western China's Melody" journey.

Juli („Magnificent Land, Melody of Western China - Night of International Musical Story") im Guotai Art Center in Chongqing.
