Emmy is the lab's team of virtual physicists, built on PSI's sovereign reasoning engine and a large, curated inventory of simulations. Where a human physicist carries one mental model of a system, Emmy constructs higher-fidelity world models, decomposes hard research problems into trees of verifiable hypotheses, and tests them in parallel at a scale no human research team can match. Directed at open scientific problems, Emmy discovers new physics the way physics demands: following a problem to its logical end and verifying every step until the conclusion is undeniable.

The first commercial application is AI data centers and AI factories, terrestrial and orbital. Emmy uses physics-native reasoning and simulation to solve multiphysics design problems (power, cooling, network, compute) whose interactions are too coupled for the slow, manual engineering iterations they require today. The result is infrastructure engineered beyond what human design cycles can reach: optimized before construction, and retrofitted for gains in facilities already running.

PSI is the founding technical partner for the Fermi Explorer Mission, the first AI-planned interstellar mission to Alpha Centauri. The agreement contemplates the purchase of up to 1,500 BOXABL homes over a three-year period.

The previous experience of the LC Vegas Acquisitions team includes serving as a developer, builder, and operator with thousands of residential units developed, entitled, or under construction with a billion-plus in real estate developed or in process across the United States. Led by Co-Founder and Managing Partner Greg Palivos, the team has operated across multiple states.

The homes are expected to be produced utilizing BOXABL's expanding product platform and configured to meet project-specific requirements. Production timing and delivery schedules will be determined in accordance with the terms of the agreement and the needs of the underlying developments.

Under the terms of the agreement, purchases are expected to occur in phases, with approximately 500 homes anticipated annually, subject to project schedules, site readiness, regulatory approvals, and other conditions outlined in the agreement.

The agreement with LC Vegas Acquisitions highlights continued commercial engagement with experienced, well-capitalized developers seeking scalable housing solutions and reflects growing interest in BOXABL's expanding product platform.

The purchase agreement remains subject to various conditions, contingencies, and performance requirements and does not require that any purchases be made. Purchases under the agreement are expected to occur over multiple years and may be modified, delayed, reduced, or terminated in accordance with the agreement's terms. BOULDER, Colo., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Odyssey Energy Solutions, the leading platform for financing distributed renewable energy (DRE) projects in emerging markets, today announced $74 million in new financing. The funding consists of a $27 million equity round and $47 million in debt. New equity investors include Broadscale Group, FMO, and Al Mada Ventures, with continued participation from existing investors including Union Square Ventures, Equal Ventures, Abstract Ventures, Twelve Below, FJ Labs, MCJ, and Transition Ventures. Debt financiers include British International Investment, BIO, the Facility for Energy Inclusion represented by Cygnum Capital and the Energy Entrepreneurs Growth Fund represented by TripleJump.

The financing will support continued expansion of Odyssey's platform, which connects more than 6,000 solar installers and engineering, procurement, and construction companies (EPCs) with financiers and equipment suppliers in more than 50 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, facilitating access to $3.6 billion in capital for distributed energy projects. Odyssey's procurement platform, launched in 2024, aggregates equipment procurement across its large network of EPCs, offering these small-to-medium sized companies access to volume pricing with embedded supply chain credit. The platform has unlocked 1.5 GW of projects to date.

The announcement comes at a moment of accelerating demand for distributed renewable energy across Odyssey's core markets. Falling solar and battery costs, rising oil prices, and evolving government policy have converged to make the unit economics of distributed solar materially stronger than fossil-fuel alternatives. In Nigeria, where diesel backup generators supply more electricity than grid-connected power plants, according to the International Finance Corporation, diesel prices rose more than 93% between February and April 2026 following supply disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. In India, where Odyssey's platform has grown 205% over the past 12 months, new domestic manufacturing requirements for solar components are reshaping supply chains and driving demand for the procurement and financing infrastructure that Odyssey provides. Rapid data center construction across India, driven by rising AI compute demand, is further increasing electricity demand at a pace grid infrastructure is struggling to meet, adding urgency to distributed solar and storage as a complement to centralized power supply.

Ob Ausbildung oder Studium, im Spätsommer und Herbst beginnt für viele junge Menschen ein neuer Lebensabschnitt. Dazu gehört oft auch: bei den Eltern ausziehen. Doch plötzlich den eigenen Haushalt oder den einer WG zu organisieren, ist gar nicht so einfach. Kochen, waschen, putzen - und wie funktioniert das mit der Mülltrennung? Das erklärt die Initiative "Mülltrennung wirkt". Denn mit der richtigen Mülltrennung klappt es nicht nur mit Hausgemeinschaft und Vermieter*innen. Sie hilft außerdem, Klima und Ressourcen zu schonen.

Damit Abfälle getrennt gesammelt werden können, sorgen Vermieter*innen oder Hausverwaltungen für die notwendigen Abfallbehälter. Für die richtige Mülltrennung sind Mieter*innen selbst verantwortlich. Doch oft fehlt es an Wissen: Durchschnittlich 30 Prozent der in den Gelben Tonnen und Gelben Säcken gesammelten Abfälle gehören dort nicht hinein. "Falsch entsorgter Abfall kann zusätzliche Kosten für alle Mieter*innen verursachen. Noch wichtiger ist: Richtige Mülltrennung ist Voraussetzung für funktionierende Wertstoffkreisläufe", erklärt Axel Subklew, Sprecher der Initiative "Mülltrennung wirkt". Was kommt wohin? Die wichtigsten Regeln für den ersten eigenen Haushalt

Gelbe Tonne und Gelber Sack: Verpackungen richtig entsorgen

Die einfache Grundregel lautet: In die Gelbe Tonne und den Gelben Sack gehören ausschließlich gebrauchte und restentleerte Verpackungen, die nicht aus Papier, Pappe, Karton oder Glas sind.

Das sind Leichtverpackungen aus Kunststoff wie Joghurtbecher oder Shampooflaschen. Auch Aluminium- und Weißblechverpackungen wie Konservendosen oder Senftuben und Verbund-materialien, zum Beispiel Getränkekartons, kommen in die Gelbe Tonne oder den Gelben Sack.

Altpapier und Altglas

Papier, Pappe und Karton werden in der Altpapiertonne gesammelt. Glasflaschen ohne Pfand und Einweggläser werden, nach Farben sortiert, in die entsprechenden Altglascontainer geworfen.

Bio- und Restmüll

Organische Abfälle wie Gemüse- und Obstreste gehören in die Biotonne. Auch Speisereste dürfen vielerorts dort hinein - welche Regeln genau gelten, legt die jeweilige Kommune fest.

In die graue oder schwarze Tonne gehört der Restmüll. Das sind beispielsweise Hygieneartikel wie Papiertaschentücher, Einwegrasierer und gebrauchte Küchentücher sowie Zigarettenkippen.

Richtig trennen: Darauf kommt es an

Ausleeren, aber nicht ausspülen

Verpackungen, die in die Gelbe Tonne oder den Gelben Sack entsorgt werden, sollten "restentleert", also möglichst frei von Resten sein. Ausspülen ist jedoch nicht nötig.

Deckel & Co. ab

Deckel, Verschluss- und Sichtfolien oder Kunststoffummantelungen getrennt von der Verpackung in die Gelbe Tonne oder den Gelben Sack entsorgen. So können unterschiedliche Materialien von den Sortieranlagen besser erkannt und recycelt werden.

Nicht stapeln

Verpackungen nicht ineinanderschieben oder stapeln - das erschwert die Arbeit der Sortieranlagen. Getränkekartons & Co. können dagegen flachgedrückt werden.

Den Durchblick behalten

Verpackungsabfälle lose oder in transparenten Abfallsäcken in die Gelbe Tonne oder den Gelben Sack entsorgen. So können Müllwerker*innen falsch entsorgte Abfälle bei der Abholung leichter erkennen.

Vorsicht Brandgefahr: E-Zigaretten sicher entsorgen

E-Zigaretten enthalten Lithium-Ionen-Batterien und gehören als Elektrogeräte niemals in den Hausmüll - weder in die Gelbe Tonne oder den Gelben Sack noch in den Restmüll. Beschädigte Batterien können Brände verursachen. Ausgediente E-Vapes müssen daher bei einer Sammelstelle für Elektroaltgeräte abgegeben werden, etwa auf dem Wertstoffhof oder im Handel. Das gilt auch für andere Elektrogeräte wie Föhn oder Toaster.

Mülltrennung: Gut für Klima und Ressourcen

Richtige Mülltrennung schont Klima und Ressourcen. Eine Studie des Öko-Instituts zeigt: Durch die Verwertung von Verpackungen aus der Gelben Tonne und dem Gelben Sack, aus Glas sowie aus Papier, Pappe und Karton werden in Deutschland jährlich 1,95 Millionen Tonnen CO2-Äquivalente eingespart. Gleichzeitig werden durch Verpackungsrecycling im Jahr rund vier Millionen Tonnen Sekundärrohstoffe erzeugt. Sie sind eine wichtige Rohstoffquelle für die Herstellung neuer Produkte.

The system began trial operation in May 2026 and, following more than three months of stable performance, is now fully operational, lifting the hub's overall efficiency by 40%.

The linear narrow-belt sorter's integrated singulation technology automatically separates overlapping parcels before they enter the sort loop. Because the system relies on proven mechanical separation rather than AI-based vision recognition, it is designed to deliver consistent throughput day after day, with reliability confirmed during the trial period and now carried into full production ahead of the autumn peak season.

The system has a design capacity of 6,500 parcels per hour and 120 sorting chutes, providing routing coverage across southern Italy, including Bari, Catanzaro, Naples and surrounding areas. It integrates dimensioning and weighing in a single pass, with volume accuracy of ±10 mm and weighing accuracy of ±20 g. Around 80% of the sorting process is now automated, with manual handling limited to loading and exception processing.

Dr. Frankle most recently served as vice chair of the department, chief of psychiatry service at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, and professor of psychiatry and will begin his new role as chair in September.

Dr. Frankle earned his bachelor's degree from McGill University and his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed his residency in adult psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital/McLean Hospital, followed by a research fellowship in schizophrenia at the New York State Psychiatric Institute at Columbia University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration in medical management from the Isenberg School of Business at the University of Massachusetts.

Dr. Frankle has been a member of NYU Langone for 10 years and is a nationally recognized expert in schizophrenia and neuroreceptor imaging. His research uses positron emission tomography to investigate neurochemical abnormalities in schizophrenia, and his work has advanced understanding of dopamine and GABA transmission in the pathophysiology of the illness. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and is currently funded by the National Institute of Mental Health.
