About Cadrenal Therapeutics, Inc.

Cadrenal Therapeutics, Inc. is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company advancing specialized therapies for critical care cardiology and orphan cardiovascular conditions. The Company’s pipeline includes CAD-1005, tecarfarin, and frunexian. CAD-1005 is a novel investigational therapeutic in development for the treatment of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) and Cardiac Surgery-Associated Acute Kidney Injury (CSA-AKI). CAD-1005 is designed to selectively inhibit 12-lipoxygenase (12-LOX), an enzyme central to platelet immune activation and thrombo-inflammatory signaling in HIT. CAD-1005 is intended to be used alongside existing standards of care and is being developed to address the underlying biological mechanisms that drive disease progression. CAD-1005 has an Orphan Drug Designation (“ODD”) from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) for prophylaxis of thrombosis in patients with HIT, FDA Fast Track designation for the treatment and prevention of HIT, and an orphan designation from the European Medicines Agency for the treatment of platelet-activating factor 4 disorders. Second-generation 12-LOX oral therapeutics (CAD-2000) are also in development for chronic indications.

The Company’s broader pipeline includes tecarfarin, a late-stage oral vitamin K antagonist designed to prevent heart attacks, strokes, and deaths from blood clots in patients requiring chronic anticoagulation, including those with end-stage kidney disease and atrial fibrillation, those with left ventricular assist devices, and potentially those with Kawasaki disease (KD), an acute, self-limited, febrile illness that primarily affects children under 5 years old and is the leading cause of acquired heart disease in developed countries. The Company recently submitted a request to the FDA for Rare Pediatric Disease Designation (RPDD) for tecarfarin for “Prevention of the Formation of Life-Threatening Blood Clots Inside Coronary Artery Aneurysms in Children with Kawasaki Disease”. Tecarfarin has also received Orphan Drug and Fast Track designations from the FDA.

Cadrenal Therapeutics Retains Tungsten Advisors to Lead Formal Strategic Process to Maximize Value of its Orphan Thrombo-Inflammatory Therapeutics
Original HTML

- Pipeline has reached clinical and regulatory maturity following recent alignment with FDA on Phase 3 development pathway for CAD-1005

- Cadrenal has received strong interest from potential strategic partners

- Cadrenal will explore all strategic alternatives including corporate partnerships and other strategic transactions

PONTE VEDRA, Fla., Oct. 07, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Cadrenal Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: CVKD) (“Cadrenal” or the “Company”), a late-stage biopharmaceutical company advancing novel therapies for life-threatening immune and thrombotic conditions, today announced that its Board of Directors has initiated a formal strategic process to evaluate opportunities to maximize the value of the Company and its asset portfolio.

The initiative builds on Cadrenal’s ongoing strategic partnering discussions and will evaluate a broad range of potential transactions involving the Company and its clinical- and development-stage programs, including CAD-1005, tecarfarin, frunexian, and CAD-2000, the Company’s second-generation 12-LOX platform. Potential opportunities may include licensing or sale of individual assets, development and commercialization partnerships, portfolio transactions, business combinations, or other strategic transactions.

Cadrenal has engaged Tungsten Advisors as the Company’s exclusive strategic financial advisor in connection with the process.

“Our pipeline has reached critical clinical and regulatory maturity, anchored by our recent alignment with the FDA on the Phase 3 development pathway for CAD-1005,” said Quang X. Pham, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cadrenal Therapeutics. “Having received strong interest from potential strategic partners, we believe a formal strategic process provides the appropriate framework to evaluate opportunities across our portfolio and determine the paths that can maximize value for our shareholders while advancing these programs for patients.”

There can be no assurance that the strategic process will result in any transaction or other strategic outcome. Cadrenal does not intend to provide updates on the process unless and until its Board of Directors approves a specific transaction or course of action, or the Company otherwise determines that disclosure is appropriate or required.

About Cadrenal Therapeutics, Inc.

Cadrenal Therapeutics, Inc. is a late-stage biopharmaceutical company advancing novel therapies for life-threatening immune and thrombotic conditions. The Company’s portfolio comprises clinical- and development-stage programs addressing significant unmet needs in critical care cardiology and orphan cardiovascular conditions.

CAD-1005 is a first-in-class 12-lipoxygenase (12-LOX) inhibitor in development to treat heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT), a serious immune-mediated thrombotic disorder. CAD-1005 is designed to selectively inhibit 12-LOX, a pathway involved in platelet immune activation and thrombo-inflammatory signaling in HIT. The program has received Orphan Drug and Fast Track designations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and orphan drug status from the European Medicines Agency. Cadrenal has received FDA feedback on the pathway for a Phase 3 registration study of CAD-1005 in HIT.

Tecarfarin is a Phase 3-ready oral vitamin K antagonist under development for patients requiring chronic anticoagulation, including those with end-stage kidney disease, atrial fibrillation, and implanted left ventricular assist devices. Tecarfarin has received FDA Orphan Drug and Fast Track designations for certain indications.

Frunexian is an investigational parenteral small-molecule Factor XIa inhibitor under development for acute and critical care settings, including major cardiac surgery.

CAD-2000 is a preclinical, next-generation, orally bioavailable 12-lipoxygenase (12-LOX) inhibitor under development as an outpatient Immunology & Inflammation (I&I) platform. CAD-2000 targets adipo-inflammatory signaling and systemic lipid-driven inflammation to address chronic metabolic and cardiorenal disorders. Positioned as an oral follow-on companion to CAD-1005, the asset is optimized for broad, large-market chronic inflammatory indications, including obesity-driven systemic inflammation, metabolic-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), and chronic cardiorenal diseases. It offers potential therapeutic synergy when combined with existing blockbuster metabolic regimens. For more information, please visit www.cadrenal.com.

PERTH, Australia -- The Perth Wildcats and Rio Tinto have strengthened their partnership, signing a new three-year agreement that will build on their shared commitment to creating opportunities for young people and communities across Western Australia.

As part of the renewed agreement, Rio Tinto will become Principal Partner of the Perth Wildcats, with the Rio Tinto logo featuring on the front of the Wildcats playing jersey.

The extension marks the next chapter of a partnership that has continued to grow both on and off the court. The partnership is focused on supporting grassroots basketball, creating development opportunities for young people and using the power of sport to connect communities across metropolitan and regional Western Australia.

A key part of the partnership is the continued growth of the Rio Tinto Perth Wildcats Academy, which will expand into the Pilbara from 2027, creating greater development opportunities for regional athletes and coaches.

Since the partnership began, more than 2,000 children across the Pilbara have participated in Wildcats basketball clinics. The recent Perth Wildcats pre-season game in Karratha provided another opportunity to bring elite basketball closer to regional fans and communities.

Rio Tinto will also continue as presenting partner of the Perth Wildcats Mental Health Game, supporting Lifeline WA and using the reach of professional sport to encourage important conversations around mental health and wellbeing.

Perth Wildcats Owner Mark Arena said the three-year extension would allow the partnership to build on the momentum created over the past three seasons.

“Rio Tinto shares our belief in the ability of basketball to connect and inspire communities, and we are incredibly proud to extend our partnership for another three years.

“Together, we have been able to take basketball into communities across Western Australia, create new pathways for young players and coaches, and deliver initiatives that have an impact well beyond game day.

“Rio Tinto stepping up as Principal Partner is a tremendous show of confidence in what we are building together, and we are excited about how much more we can achieve over the next three years.”

Rio Tinto Iron Ore Chief Executive Matthew Holcz said the renewed partnership reflected a shared commitment to creating opportunities for communities across Western Australia.

“Our partnership with the Perth Wildcats is about more than sponsorship – it's about creating opportunities for young people, strengthening communities and using sport to bring people together.

“Over the past three years, we have worked together to make a difference, particularly in regional Western Australia and through the Rio Tinto Perth Wildcats Academy.

“We are excited to build on that work, expand the Academy into the Pilbara and help nurture the next generation of Western Australian basketballers.”

To mark the extension, Rio Tinto and the Perth Wildcats will launch “60 Years, 300 Reasons to Celebrate”, recognising Rio Tinto’s 60-year history in Western Australia and giving Wildcats fans the opportunity to join the celebrations.

A total of 300 Wildcats items will be given away, including NBL27 jerseys, game tickets and hats as part of community pop ups today across Perth, taking the partnership directly to fans and the wider community.

PERTH, Australia--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- More than 120 artworks celebrating the enduring connection between people, Country and culture in the Pilbara will go on sale this month, as Colours of our Country returns for its 21st year.

This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20260920420069/en/

This year's exhibition will run from 21 September to 2 October, showcasing the work of 29 Pilbara artists, including artists from the Cheeditha Art Group and Yinjaa-Barni Art Centre.

A painting by Cheeditha Art Group member Wendy Warrie, titled Out on the Horizon, has been chosen as the signature artwork for the 2026 exhibition. Ms Warrie, a Kariyarra and Yindjibarndi woman, has been painting for more than two decades, using her art to share stories of Country, culture, family and community. She is this year’s Signature Artist and Artist in Residence.

Ms Warrie said: "My painting at Colours of our Country is called ‘Out on the Horizon'. When I was painting it, I was thinking about sitting out at the beach and watching the sun go down, trying to get a fish at the same time.

“All my paintings are a true story of what I've been doing in my life."

Since its 2006 launch, Colours of our Country has sold more than 3,325 artworks, with more than A$3.6 million going directly to Pilbara artists, art centres and their communities.

Rio Tinto Iron Ore Chief Executive Matthew Holcz said: “As Rio Tinto marks 60 years in the Pilbara, Colours of our Country reminds us of the rich culture, stories and artistic traditions that have been a part of the Pilbara region for tens of thousands of years.

"What began as part of Rio Tinto Iron Ore's 40th anniversary celebrations has grown into a much-loved annual exhibition that has supported hundreds of artists and helped share Pilbara Aboriginal culture with audiences in Australia and around the world.

"For two decades, Colours of our Country has connected artists with new audiences, while ensuring the benefits of every sale flow back to artists, art centres and communities."

The exhibition will be open weekdays from 8:00am to 4:30pm at Central Park Tower, 152-158 St Georges Terrace, Perth. Artworks are available for purchase at the exhibition and online at coloursofourcountry.com with all proceeds going directly to artists, art centres and their communities.

ALNF and Rio Tinto partner to strengthen First Nations languages

The partnership supports the objectives of the United Nations International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022 to 2032), assisting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Language communities to develop and lead locally driven language initiatives through ALNF's Living First Languages Platform. Together, communities will document, teach and share Language, strengthen local capability, and develop new digital resources that help keep Languages strong and accessible for generations to come.

Developed alongside First Nations communities, ALNF's Living First Languages Platform places language ownership firmly in community hands. Combining cultural knowledge with digital technology, the platform enables communities to capture, manage and teach their Languages in ways that reflect local priorities, cultural protocols and aspirations.

The partnership will support community-led Language initiatives in Mapoon (Queensland), Nhulunbuy/Yirrkala (Northern Territory), Bidyadanga (Western Australia), Bundjalung Country (New South Wales and Queensland), and Kalkatungu Country (Queensland).

Cultural Heritage Advisor for the Mapoon Language Project Jason Jia said the partnership represents an important investment in the future of Language and culture.

"The Mapoon Language Project is more than a program, it is a living commitment to keeping language, culture, and identity strong for future generations. Through working alongside Elders and community, we are not just recording words, but strengthening connections to Country and ensuring our stories, knowledge, and voices continue to thrive for years to come.

"This work is essential, and ongoing funding ensures that this cultural knowledge is not lost but carried forward with pride and purpose."

Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation Chief Executive Anne Hollonds AO said: “We greatly appreciate the opportunity to work alongside communities dedicated to seeing teaching and learning flourish in their Languages. Being able to read, write, speak, listen and understand in one's own Language has a powerful lifelong impact on education, employment, identity, wellbeing, social connection and belonging. Communities are leading this work, and we are honoured to support them and be trusted by them.”

Rio Tinto Iron Ore Chief Executive and Australia Country Head Matthew Holcz said: “This partnership will provide Indigenous communities with a range of resources to retain control and ownership of their Languages.

“For tens of thousands of years, Indigenous communities have cared for Country, and by honouring their languages, we can help strengthen and protect this deep cultural history.”

Over the next three years, the partnership will support community-led Language initiatives across Australia through training, mentoring, community governance, technology, digital language resources, interactive learning tools and opportunities for Language groups to connect and learn from one another. It will also strengthen the Living First Languages Platform, ensuring communities continue to have access to practical tools that place Language ownership and knowledge in their own hands.

Building the Next Generation of Cleared Leaders
Image File
Original HTML

By Dee Sharma, Director of Recruiting Services at Akima

The Shift

Federal missions are evolving faster than ever, driven by AI, cybersecurity demands, and global instability. Cleared professionals are no longer just technical contributors. They are expected to lead, adapt quickly, and operate in complex environments. The demand has shifted from cleared talent to mission ready leaders.

Beyond Filling Roles

At Akima, the focus is not transactional hiring. It is long term capability building. With continued expansion into key markets like Huntsville and growing support across defense, aerospace, and technology missions, the priority is clear. Build careers that grow with the mission, not just roles that fill a need.

From Talent to Leadership

Leadership today requires more than experience. It demands adaptability, technical depth, and the ability to lead through change. Investing in leadership and operational excellence is no longer optional. It is how organizations stay relevant and resilient.

Supporting the Individual

Today’s workforce expects more. Growth, purpose, and support are baseline. When people feel trusted and invested in, they show up differently. More engaged. More accountable. More committed to the mission.

Preparing for What’s Ahead

The future of federal work is being shaped in real time. AI, cyber, and digital transformation are redefining expectations. Technical skills alone are not enough. The next generation of leaders must be ready to learn, pivot, and lead continuously.

Connecting Talent to Purpose

People are no longer looking for just a job. They are looking for impact. When career growth aligns with mission outcomes, something shifts. Engagement becomes ownership.

Closing Thought

Building cleared leaders is not about today’s role. It is about who can lead when everything changes. How are you preparing your teams for that moment?
