10 Jahre Elbphilharmonie Hamburg: spektakuläres Konzerthaus feiert seine Erfolgsgeschichte

Bild-Infos Download

Hamburg (ots)

Many High-Income Filers Miss Deductions Not Because They Are Unaware They Exist, but Because of Timing, Limits, and Poor Coordination.

ENDICOTT, N.Y., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What are the most common reasons high-income individuals leave deductions on the table each year, and what can be done to address them before December 31? A HelloNation article identifies the specific limitations, timing failures, and coordination gaps that reduce tax efficiency for high earners, and outlines practical steps that can close those gaps before the year ends.

Salvadore J. Julian, President/Owner

The HelloNation article opens with an important observation: high-income individuals rarely miss deductions because they are unaware those deductions exist. More often, the problem is a matter of limitations, poor timing, or financial decisions made throughout the year without regard to their tax consequences. Identifying where those breakdowns occur most often is the first step toward avoiding them.

State and local taxes, commonly called SALT, are among the first areas the article addresses. Taxpayers can deduct state income taxes and property taxes paid, but the total in this category is capped at $40,000 per year under current law. For high earners in states with significant income and property tax burdens, that cap is frequently reached before all applicable taxes are accounted for, meaning a portion of those payments produces no federal deduction at all.

Mortgage interest deductibility carries its own set of limits. The deduction applies only to the first $750,000 of qualifying mortgage debt originated after December 31, 2018, and homeowners with larger balances must prorate the deductible portion accordingly. Those with multiple properties sometimes assume full deductibility without accounting for this calculation, which can result in missed planning adjustments.

Charitable contributions offer significant timing leverage that many high earners do not fully use. Donating appreciated stock rather than cash allows a taxpayer to claim the full fair market value of the contribution without recognizing capital gains on the appreciation. A donor-advised fund lets contributors make donations in the most tax-advantaged years and distribute those funds to charities over time, improving the overall efficiency of a regular giving program.

Deduction stacking is a related strategy the article describes as particularly underused. Because the standard deduction is now relatively high, some filers find their itemized deductions do not consistently exceed that threshold from year to year. By concentrating charitable contributions and other deductible expenditures into alternating years, a taxpayer can alternate between a larger deduction year and a standard deduction year, producing more total benefit over time than applying either deduction at a similar level annually.

Tax-advantaged accounts represent another area of common missed opportunity that the article examines. Traditional 401(k) contributions remain deductible at any income level, and health savings accounts provide a triple benefit: deductible contributions, tax-free growth, and tax-free qualified withdrawals. For 2026, those enrolled in qualifying high-deductible plans can contribute up to $4,400 individually or $8,750 for family coverage, with an additional $1,000 available for those over 55.

Tax Expert Sal Julian is among the contributors whose insights the article draws on to identify these common gaps. The article's central point, and one that Tax Expert Sal Julian's guidance reinforces, is that many high earners leave available itemized deductions behind not because the opportunities do not exist, but because decisions are made throughout the year without a coordinated tax strategy in place.

What Deductions Are High-Income Individuals Losing Without Knowing It? features insights from Sal Julian, Tax Expert of Endicott, New York, in HelloNation.

$1.0 Billion Acquisition Comprises VMS Leading Brands, including Nature's Bounty, the #2 VMS Brand, and Select Specialty Brands

BOSTON, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Yellow Wood Partners ("Yellow Wood"), a private equity firm focused exclusively on investing in consumer brands and companies, today announced that it has agreed to acquire the Holistic Health platform ("Holistic Health") from Nestlé for $1.0 billion.

Holistic Health is a leading global Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements ("VMS") platform with a differentiated portfolio of established brands, including Nature's Bounty, the #2 overall VMS brand and leading women's health brand in the U.S, as well as leading specialty brands Nuun, Osteo Bi-Flex, and Gard. Nature's Bounty offers a broad range of wellness solutions that are consumed in more than 20% of U.S. households and have been a trusted brand for more than 50 years.

"Holistic Health is an excellent platform of trusted brands with deep retailer relationships providing significant opportunities for continued growth," said Dana Schmaltz, Partner at Yellow Wood. "The Holistic Health portfolio provides a group of specialty category leaders in various high growth sectors of the attractive VMS market, including hydration, gut health and immunity. Operating Holistic Health as a standalone entity will provide the opportunity to leverage the power of each brand to accelerate growth, enhance innovation and strengthen their market positions with consumers and retail partners. We have developed an excellent relationship with the team at Nestlé and look forward to ensuring a smooth transition over the coming months as we close the transaction."

"This exciting portfolio is deeply aligned with our focus, expertise and functional operations approach, and we are thrilled to add each of these brands to the Yellow Wood umbrella," said Tad Yanagi, Partner at Yellow Wood. "We believe that by implementing the Yellow Wood Consumer Operating DNA model, we can accelerate the growth of all of these brands as we have done with other category defining carveouts such as Q-tips, Chapstick, Suave and Dr. Scholl's. As VMS adoption continues to increase among a wide range of consumers and demand for benefit-specific solutions expands, we see significant runway to drive organic growth across the platform."

This transaction marks Yellow Wood's sixth significant carveout acquisition from five major global consumer companies, including Bayer, Reckitt, Unilever, and Haleon. The transaction is subject to applicable regulatory approvals and is expected to close by the first half of 2027.

Perella Weinberg Partners and Canaccord Genuity served as financial advisors to Yellow Wood on the transaction. Goodwin Procter provided legal counsel to Yellow Wood.

The Article Explains How Air Sealing Works Alongside Insulation to Prevent Cold Rooms and Wasted Energy.

ALBANY, N.Y., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Why does a room still feel cold after new insulation is installed? A HelloNation article explains how sealing air leaks allows insulation to work as intended, addressing a common source of confusion for many homeowners.

The article notes that insulation slows the transfer of heat through walls, floors, and ceilings. It does not stop air from moving through cracks, gaps, or unsealed openings.

Darren Haggett, Branch Manager

A fully insulated home can still lose conditioned air through small leaks, the article explains. Common trouble spots include window frames, door thresholds, attic hatches, and areas where pipes or wiring pass through exterior walls.

According to the article, air sealing and insulation work best as partners rather than substitutes for one another. Air sealing closes the gaps that let air escape, while insulation slows the heat moving through the surfaces that remain.

The article features insights from Insulation Expert Darren Haggett of Builders Installed Products of New York LLC, based in Albany, New York. His work centers on helping homeowners understand how insulation choices affect comfort throughout the year.

Rooms above garages, additions, and spaces near exterior corners are especially prone to temperature swings, the article points out. These areas often have more seams and transitions where air can move freely.

Older homes tend to have more air leakage than newer construction, according to the article. Settling, aging materials, and outdated building techniques can all contribute to gaps that were never sealed properly.

The article warns that adding more insulation without addressing the underlying air leaks can produce less improvement than homeowners expect. A more reliable method starts with identifying where air is actually escaping.

This can involve a visual inspection or a blower door test, the article explains. Once leaks are located, sealing them with the right materials creates a more consistent barrier for the insulation to support.

Attics, basements, and crawl spaces are frequent starting points, the article notes, because they often contain the largest and most accessible gaps. Sealing these areas first can make a noticeable difference in comfort.

Windows and doors matter too, though the article notes their impact is often smaller than homeowners expect. Weatherstripping and caulking help, but they rarely account for most of the air loss in a typical home.

The article describes a house as a connected system rather than a series of separate rooms. Air leaking into an attic can pull conditioned air away from the rooms below, forcing heating and cooling systems to work harder.

Persistent drafts near baseboards, cold spots on interior walls, and rooms that never quite match the thermostat setting are common signs of leakage, the article explains. Higher than expected utility bills can point to the same issue.

The article also notes that a professional assessment, including tools like thermal imaging or a blower door test, can reveal leaks that are not visible during a normal walkthrough. That information helps homeowners set realistic expectations before starting a project.

The guidance shared by Insulation Expert Darren Haggett in the article offers homeowners a useful starting point. It can help them weigh insulation and air sealing as part of the same project.

Still Cold After Insulation? Air Sealing May Be Why features insights from Darren Haggett, Insulation Expert of Albany, New York, in HelloNation.

Move is expected to create 114 new jobs at Astemo's facilities in Madison County, Kentucky

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Astemo Americas, Inc. will invest more than $112 million to increase production of hybrid electric-vehicle motors at its two manufacturing plants in Berea, Kentucky.

The Madison County expansion will add 114 new jobs and nearly 300,000 square feet of production and warehouse space at the Astemo plants on Mayde Road in Berea. The investment is part of a multi-year program expected to create 282 new jobs and increase production of hybrid EV powertrain components at Astemo's Kentucky facilities.

The company's Berea operations produce chassis and electric powertrain components. Astemo also has a manufacturing plant in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, producing electric-powertrain and engine-management systems.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said the Astemo expansion project represents one of the largest single investments in Madison County in recent years and will result in a near-record number of new jobs for the county over the next several years.

"Kentucky continues to lead the way when it comes to advanced manufacturing and EV operations and this project represents another great company choosing to reinvest in the commonwealth," said Governor Beshear. "The expansion will create 114 new job opportunities for Kentucky workers and their families. Congratulations to Astemo Americas on this historic project, and I look forward to many more years of their success here in the commonwealth."

"We especially appreciate the continued support of the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority in helping us expand our operations in Berea to provide our customers with cutting-edge automotive components."

Berea Mayor Bruce Fraley added that Astemo's expansion program will have "a generational impact on our community and the region."

Mayor Fraley said "Astemo's growth here will generate jobs and career opportunities throughout the area beyond the 114 new openings at the company's two Berea plants. Our city looks forward to continued growth along with our largest single employer, Astemo Americas."

Claroty is a Customer Favorite in new analyst report, receiving highest score possible in nine criteria

NEW YORK, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Claroty, the cyber-physical systems (CPS) protection company, today announced it was named a Leader and a Customer Favorite in The Forrester Wave™: Operational Technology Security Solutions, Q3 2026 by Forrester Research. Claroty received the highest score possible in nine criteria within the categories of current offering (vulnerability management, risk modeling & exposure prioritization, secured access management, reporting, IT/OT convergence support & SOC integration depth, and OT‑safe deployment model & operational resilience) and strategy (innovation, adoption, and pricing flexibility & transparency).

Recognized for Strategy and Capabilities

According to the report, "Claroty's industry-focused teams make it a good fit for customers seeking to secure OT environments across different sectors." Findings from Claroty's vendor profile in the report include:

Strategy: "Claroty's innovative approach to redesign its platform through heavy investments in R&D has evolved its offering from passive monitoring to a security solution for heterogeneous OT environments. To improve adoption, it built industry-focused teams from sales through support that understand customer needs and challenges. Claroty sees value in AI for OT security but is cautious in its use, ensuring that customers can interrupt its actions. It has recently increased the flexibility of its pricing models to meet customers' evolving needs."

Capabilities: "Claroty's vulnerability and risk posture management provides deep context on how vulnerabilities may affect devices or OT operations as a whole, including configuration assessments and benchmarking against similar customers for risk scoring. Its OT-specific secure remote access applies Zero Trust principles with live session monitoring and full audit trails that monitor all actions."

Customer Praise and Adoption of the AI-powered Claroty Platform

A contributing factor to Claroty's Customer Favorite distinction is, per the report: "Customers value Claroty's close engagement and partnership approach."

This recognition comes shortly after Claroty was named a Customers' Choice in the 2026 Gartner® Peer Insights™ Voice of the Customer for CPS Protection Platforms.1 Earlier this year, Claroty was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for CPS Protection Platforms for the second year in a row.2

"We're incredibly proud to be named both a Leader and a Customer Favorite following Forrester's rigorous evaluation of the OT security market," said Claroty CEO Yaniv Vardi. "We believe this provides strong validation of our approach to securing the world's mission-critical infrastructure and that our latest innovations, including the first OT-native AI security agent and helping customers take a programmatic approach to operationalizing OT security, are propelling the entire industry forward."
