A2GOLD COMPLETES 4,400-METRE DRILL PROGRAM AT TAYLOR AND MOBILIZES RIG TO EASTSIDE TARGET PENTE

English

TONOPAH, Nev., Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A2Gold Corp. ("A2Gold" or the "Company") (TSXV: AUAU) (OTCQX: AUXXF) (FRA: RR7) is pleased to announce the completion of its 2026 drill program at the Taylor Gold-Silver Project ("Taylor" or the "Project") in White Pine County, Nevada. The Company completed 15 reverse-circulation ("RC") drill holes totaling approximately 4,400 metres.

With drilling now completed at Taylor, the drill rig is being mobilized to the Company's flagship Eastside Project near Tonopah, Nevada, where the Company expects to commence an approximately 3,700-metre RC drill program at Target Pente.

Taylor Drill Program Completed

The recently completed program represents A2Gold's first drill campaign at Taylor since acquiring the Project earlier this year. The program was designed to test priority targets identified through the integration of historical drilling, geological information and geophysical data (Figure 1).

A total of 15 RC holes were completed for approximately 4,400 metres. Samples from the drill program have been submitted for laboratory analysis, with assay results pending. The Company expects to report results as they are received, reviewed and interpreted.

In addition to testing the primary drill targets, the program will provide A2Gold with important new geological information to further refine its understanding of the broader mineralized system at Taylor and assist in planning future exploration programs.

Drilling to Commence at Target Pente (Eastside Project)

Following completion of the Taylor program, the drill rig is now being mobilized to A2Gold's flagship Eastside Project, where drilling at Target Pente is expected to commence shortly.

The planned program will consist of approximately 3,700 metres of RC drilling and represents the next phase of A2Gold's 2026 exploration program at Eastside.

Target Pente is one of several high-priority exploration targets identified across the Company's extensive Eastside land package. The program is designed to test the potential for higher-grade epithermal feeder faults and veins, consistent with A2Gold's strategy of targeting higher-grade mineralization within the broader Eastside district rather than simply expanding the known bulk-tonnage mineralized system.

The Company believes that Eastside's large alteration footprint, multiple known centers of mineralization and extensive areas that remain underexplored provide significant opportunities for additional discoveries.

Peter Gianulis, CEO of A2Gold, commented: "The completion of approximately 4,400 metres across 15 holes at Taylor represents an important milestone for A2Gold and our first drill program at the Project since completing the acquisition earlier this year. We look forward to receiving the assay results and incorporating this new information into our understanding of the broader Taylor mineralized system. Importantly, our exploration program continues without interruption. The rig is now being mobilized directly to Eastside to begin drilling Target Pente. Our strategy at Eastside is increasingly focused on testing higher-grade feeder fault and vein targets within this very large epithermal system. Pente represents the next of these targets to be drill tested as we systematically evaluate the broader potential of the Eastside district."

NCS Analytics Completes Independent Agreed-Upon Procedures Engagement Related to NCS Analytics' Validation of NCS Thea
Image File

DENVER, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- NCS Analytics engaged Armanino LLP, an independent certified public accounting firm, to perform agreed-upon procedures related to certain aspects of NCS Analytics' validation of NCS Thea, a lending intelligence platform designed specifically for financial institutions, private lenders, credit funds, and other organizations providing capital to licensed cannabis businesses.

Armanino LLP performed the agreed-upon procedures and reported its factual findings in accordance with attestation standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Those procedures were performed over certain specific elements of the model's data inputs, application of NCS's scoring methodology, calculation of certain scoring components of Thea's Risk Lending Scores, the assignment of risk classifications, and presentation of the model's outputs.

"Cannabis lenders need objective, reliable intelligence to make informed decisions," said Adam Crabtree, Founder and CEO of NCS Analytics. "This independent engagement reflects our commitment to transparency and rigor in the development and validation of NCS Thea, providing additional confidence in key aspects of the model's methodology and outputs."

NCS Thea was developed because cannabis lending creates unique challenges that traditional underwriting tools were never designed to address. Financial statements are often inconsistent, conventional credit data is limited, and the industry's regulatory complexity makes it difficult to validate borrower performance.

NCS Thea tackles these challenges by combining government-verified operational data from state cannabis track-and-trace systems with NCS Analytics' proprietary behavioral and predictive analytics to provide an objective, independent assessment of business health and lending risk.

"This AUP engagement is not a checkbox. It is the foundation for responsible deployment. By subjecting NCS Thea to external scrutiny, we have confirmed its readiness to support risk decisions with confidence and accountability," said Paige Reimers, COO of NCS Analytics.

NEXA Lending Names Geri Farr Chief Executive Officer as Mike Kortas Moves Into Executive Partner Role
Image File

Leadership transition puts proven operator Geri Farr at the helm while allowing Kortas to focus on growth, innovation and NEXA's highest earned level of leadership

PHOENIX, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- NEXA Lending today announced that Geri Farr has been named Chief Executive Officer, marking the next evolution of a leadership structure designed to separate the responsibility of operating the company from the responsibility of imagining what the company becomes next.

Mike Kortas will transition from CEO into the role of Executive Partner, NEXA's highest earned level of leadership.

For Kortas, the move is not about stepping away from NEXA. It is about stepping fully into the role he has been playing all along.

"I have never cared about being called CEO, I care about growth, I care about winning, and most importantly, I care about finding new ways for our loan officers to make more money," Kortas said. "Geri is better equipped to run this company day to day than I am, and my ego is not big enough to pretend otherwise. The best thing I can do for our loan officers is put the right person in the CEO seat and go spend my time creating what comes next."

The relationship between Farr and Kortas reaches back nearly two decades. Long before Farr joined NEXA, and long before Kortas built the company into the organization it is today, Farr was his manager at NOVA Home Loans.

Now, the relationship has come full circle.

"I knew Mike before NEXA, I knew him before the scale, before the platform and before the thousands of loan officers," Farr said. "What has never changed is how his mind works. He sees opportunities other people do not see, and once he sees one, he becomes relentless about making it real. My responsibility as CEO is to make sure NEXA has the leadership, discipline, infrastructure and execution necessary to support where Mike and our Executive Partners want to take us next."

Farr continued, "Putting Mike behind a desk managing the day-to-day business is simply not the highest and best use of Mike Kortas. Let him build, let him challenge assumptions, let him chase the ideas everyone else says are impossible. My job is to make sure the organization can execute when those ideas become reality."

A CEO Built for NEXA's Next Chapter

Farr joined NEXA in 2025 after a career spent leading organizations through growth, transition and scale. Her experience across wholesale and distributed retail gives her a perspective that aligns directly with NEXA's continued evolution and its mission to create better economics, greater optionality and more opportunity for loan officers.

Her elevation to CEO also reflects the leadership team NEXA has intentionally assembled around her. Chief Administrative Officer Rana Mortensen, NEXA's first employee, has spent the past year working closely alongside Farr and remains one of the organization's most cherished leaders. Chief Operating Officer Jason duPont, who was elevated into NEXA's C-suite in 2025 after years inside the organization, continues to lead operations, as well as one of our Executive Partners alongside Mike. Chief Strategy Officer Tammy Richards shares a longstanding professional relationship with Farr that predates their time at NEXA, while Chief Financial Officer Von Maharaj joined the organization following a rigorous due diligence process in which Farr played an important role.

Together, the structure gives Farr an experienced executive team responsible for operating NEXA while creating something equally important above it: room for NEXA's Executive Partners to think beyond the day-to-day business.

Executive Partner Is Earned

At NEXA, Executive Partner is not another C-suite title, it is intentionally bigger than one.

Executive Partners are proven builders who have earned the ability to help shape the future of the organization. They work alongside the executive leadership team, develop new business concepts, identify acquisitions and partnerships, challenge existing models and create new opportunities designed to increase the economics available to NEXA loan officers.

That distinction is central to Kortas' decision.

"Too many founders build companies around themselves because they are afraid that giving up a title means giving up importance," Kortas said. "That is ego. If I tell loan officers every day to make decisions based on what is best for their business, then I have to be willing to do exactly the same thing. Geri becoming CEO makes NEXA stronger, and me focusing on the Executive Partner role and those who serve it alongside me makes NEXA stronger. That is the only scoreboard I care about."

Executive Partner Anthony Casa believes the structure represents something larger than a traditional corporate hierarchy.

"The Executive Partner role is powerful because you are not being asked to spend your life managing the machinery," Casa said. "You are being asked to help build the future. Mike and I can be in the market, talking to loan officers, talking to mortgage company owners, looking for opportunities, challenging each other and coming up with ideas that can materially change the economics of this business. Then you have an incredible CEO and executive team capable of turning those ideas into reality. That is a very different way to build a mortgage company."

A Different Path for Mortgage Company Owners

NEXA believes that structure can also become a model for other successful mortgage company owners.

For decades, owners have often faced two choices: continue carrying the operational burden of running an independent mortgage company or sell, merge or transition into another organization and risk losing their identity, influence and economic opportunity.

NEXA is building a third option; proven owners and leaders can potentially earn their way into the Executive Partner structure, allowing them to relinquish much of the day-to-day operational burden while continuing to recruit, innovate, build teams, create businesses and influence the future of one of the largest mortgage organizations in the country.

"It should not be considered a loss when an entrepreneur gets to stop worrying about every operational detail and starts spending more time doing the things that made them exceptional in the first place," Kortas said. "Imagine what some of the best mortgage owners in America could create if they did not have to spend their day worrying about payroll, compliance, licensing, accounting, operations and infrastructure. That is what I want people to understand about Executive Partner."

And at NEXA, the designation is meant to feel earned because the Executive Partner structure is designed to provide extraordinary economics and benefits commensurate with extraordinary contribution, including opportunities for seven-figure income, access to NEXA's private physician and longevity resources for leaders operating at the highest level, and distinctive cultural traditions reserved for those who reach the position.

Among them is perhaps the most uniquely NEXA symbol of all: a rocking chair at Midnight Canyon, NEXA's ranch. It represents something much bigger than a perk, it represents a permanent seat at the table.

Growth Without Ego

The leadership transition comes as NEXA continues expanding its platform, compensation models, technology, servicing opportunities, strategic partnerships and ability to bring established mortgage organizations into its ecosystem.

Farr will now be responsible for ensuring the organization has the operational strength to support that growth while Kortas and NEXA's Executive Partners will be responsible for creating more of it.

"We are building a company where the CEO does not have to be the loudest person in the room, the founder does not have to protect a title, and incredibly successful entrepreneurs do not have to disappear when they become part of something bigger," Farr said. "Everybody should be operating where they create the most value. That is what this structure accomplishes."

For Kortas, that philosophy ultimately comes back to the same constituency around which NEXA has built nearly every major decision: the loan officer.

"If removing my title helps us grow faster, I will remove the title," Kortas said. "If putting Geri in the CEO seat makes NEXA better, she gets the seat. If partnering with somebody who used to compete with me creates more opportunity for our loan officers, I will drop my ego and partner with them, none of this is supposed to be about us, it is supposed to be about the loan officer."

With Farr leading NEXA's execution and its Executive Partners focused on innovation, acquisition, expansion and new economic opportunities, NEXA is not simply changing who holds the CEO title, it is defining what leadership looks like for the company's next era of growth.

Milestone helps bring Iowa's only nuclear energy center back online, strengthen grid reliability and meet growing electricity demand

JUNO BEACH, Fla., Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- NextEra Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NEE) today announced that it and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), through its Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF), have reached a combined conditional commitment and financial close on a loan of up to $1.9 billion to support the restart of the company's Duane Arnold Energy Center in Iowa. This milestone moves the company closer to restoring Iowa's only nuclear plant and adding reliable, around-the-clock energy to the regional grid.

The Duane Arnold Energy Center, a 615-megawatt nuclear facility in Linn County, Iowa, is expected to create substantial economic benefits for Iowa and the surrounding region. A study estimated that the restart could generate more than $9 billion in economic benefits for Iowa over 25 years, create thousands of American jobs during construction and refurbishment, support more than 400 permanent high-paying jobs during operations and generate approximately $75 million in tax revenue over the life of the project.

Last October, NextEra Energy announced plans to restart the Duane Arnold Energy Center no later than the first quarter of 2029, pending regulatory approvals. The DOE loan will help NextEra Energy return Duane Arnold to service for its customers, advancing one of the most significant nuclear restart efforts underway in the U.S.

"Restarting Duane Arnold is about delivering new power to meet new demand while generating billions of dollars in economic value for Iowans," said John Ketchum, chairman, president and CEO of NextEra Energy. "Just as importantly, it shows how America can support rapid economic growth and rising electricity demand while helping keep power affordable for existing customers. By bringing new generation online to serve new demand, we can strengthen the grid, create hundreds of good-paying jobs and help ensure Iowa families and businesses are not asked to bear the costs of growth. We appreciate the Administration's leadership in advancing America's nuclear renaissance and share its commitment to an all-of-the-above energy strategy that expands supply, strengthens energy security and keeps America competitive."

"President Trump has set an ambitious course to restore American nuclear leadership, and the restart of Duane Arnold Nuclear Plant in Iowa marks another step in advancing America's nuclear renaissance," said U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy James P. Danly. "Returning 615 megawatts of reliable baseload generation will drive down electricity costs, while supporting thousands of American jobs. This Administration is pursuing a comprehensive nuclear strategy, restarting existing reactors, increasing the output of our nuclear fleet, and accelerating new construction, to build the abundant, affordable, and reliable power system required for American prosperity and reindustrialization."

"This commitment from the Administration further demonstrates the importance of the Duane Arnold restart and future nuclear development," said Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds. "I was proud to sign a bill that will provide incentives for nuclear power development, which will put Iowa in the forefront of innovation in the industry. New nuclear development and the restart of Duane Arnold will meet our growing energy demand while also providing hundreds of good-paying jobs throughout the state."

More about Duane Arnold Energy Center

The Duane Arnold Energy Center operated safely and reliably for more than four decades before ceasing operations in 2020. NextEra Energy is pursuing the restart through a comprehensive regulatory, operational readiness and licensing process. Under the oversight of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other federal, state and local agencies, the company continues to conduct extensive inspections, engineering evaluations and readiness activities. In June, the Iowa Utilities Commission issued a certificate to NextEra Energy authorizing the construction and operation of Duane Arnold — another important milestone toward restarting the plant.

Original HTML

First OX40 agonist to demonstrate clinical benefit in a randomized study

- INBRX-106 plus pembrolizumab delivers a 48.3% cORR and 72.4% of patients remain progression free at 6 months, compared with 26.5% and 42.8% for pembrolizumab alone

- Results are most pronounced in HPV+ patients, with cORR (80.0% vs 33.3%), CR rate (30.0% vs 0%), and PFS6 improvement (90.0% vs 33.0%) vs pembrolizumab alone

- Inhibrx will expand the Phase 2 study by approximately 50 HPV+ patients and may serve as a potential pathway to accelerated approval

- Positive results support large expansion opportunities into highly immunogenic tumors and combination with cancer vaccines

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Inhibrx Biosciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: INBX) ("Inhibrx" or the "Company"), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing a broad pipeline of novel biologic therapeutic candidates, today announced the primary endpoint results from the randomized and controlled Phase 2 portion of the HexAgon study, which is evaluating the safety and efficacy of INBRX-106, a hexavalent OX40 agonist, in combination with pembrolizumab (the combination arm) versus pembrolizumab monotherapy (the control arm) in first-line patients with treatment-naïve, PD-L1 positive (CPS ≥ 20) metastatic or unresectable recurrent head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Baseline prognostic factors were largely balanced between the two arms, and the study is being conducted at more than 80 sites in the United States, Europe and Asia. The Phase 2 portion of the HexAgon study included a total of 68 randomized patients, 63 of whom were evaluable for the primary endpoint analysis, including 29 patients in the combination arm (10 of which were HPV+) and 34 patients in the control arm (nine of which were HPV+).

The primary endpoint analysis, which had a data cutoff of August 19, 2026, demonstrated a confirmed objective response rate (cORR) of 48.3% for INBRX-106 plus pembrolizumab compared with 26.5% for pembrolizumab alone. Four patients (13.8%) in the combination arm achieved a complete response compared with no complete responses in the control arm. Median progression-free survival (PFS) continues to mature. As of the data cutoff, median PFS was 9.6 months for INBRX-106 plus pembrolizumab compared with 4.9 months for pembrolizumab alone, with six-month PFS rates of 72.4% and 42.8%, respectively.

The efficacy signal was particularly pronounced in patients with HPV+ disease, where the combination arm demonstrated an 80.0% cORR compared with 33.3% for pembrolizumab alone. Notably, 30.0% of the HPV+ patients treated in the combination arm achieved a complete response, compared with no complete responses in the control arm. The durability of the benefit was also particularly striking, with 90.0% of patients receiving INBRX-106 plus pembrolizumab remaining progression-free at six months compared with 33.0% who were receiving pembrolizumab alone. As of the data cutoff, median PFS in the combination arm in patients with HPV+ disease had not yet been reached compared with 4.6 months for pembrolizumab alone.

The combination of INBRX-106 and pembrolizumab was generally manageable. The most common treatment-related adverse events were rash, fatigue, and diarrhea, which were predominantly low grade.

"What is most exciting to us is the depth and durability of the responses we are seeing with INBRX-106, particularly in HPV+ disease," said Mark Lappe, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Inhibrx. "These results strengthen our conviction in OX40-mediated T-cell costimulation and give us a strong rationale to expand the program, not only into HPV+ disease, but also to explore the potential of INBRX-106 in other highly immunogenic tumors and in combination with cancer vaccines."

Based on these results, Inhibrx plans to expand the randomized Phase 2 portion of the HexAgon trial by approximately 50 additional HPV+ Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OPSCC) patients (CPS ≥ 1), to support a potential accelerated regulatory pathway. Following the Phase 2 expansion, the Company plans to align with the FDA on this framework and initiate the Phase 3 portion of the HexAgon trial, which is intended to serve as the confirmatory study. These results also position OX40 agonism as a promising treatment approach beyond recurrent/metastatic disease, with potential to extend durable, T-cell driven antitumor activity into earlier-stage HPV+ OPSCC.

Beyond HNSCC, Inhibrx is evaluating the potential of INBRX-106 in other highly immunogenic tumor types. The Company is currently conducting a Phase 1/2 study of INBRX-106 in the perioperative setting of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), with initial results targeted by mid-2027. This readout is expected to provide important clinical insights to inform future development, demonstrating the potential for INBRX-106 to extend well beyond head and neck cancer into not only perioperative lung cancer, but broader solid tumor indications.

The Company also plans to explore the potential of INBRX-106 in combination with therapeutic cancer vaccines. The clinical activity and T-cell responses observed with INBRX-106 in HPV+ disease demonstrate its ability to amplify antigen-driven T-cell responses, providing strong scientific justification for cancer vaccine combination strategies.

The Company will host a live webcast presentation today, September 8, 2026, at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time to further discuss the results. Quantinuum, which was the only company with a trapped-ion based architecture to be awarded CHIPS R&D funding, develops the world's most accurate commercial[1] computers with industry-leading error correction fidelity.[2] The company leverages established semiconductor manufacturing processes to help ensure reliability, repeatability, and scalability of the company's current and future quantum computers.

"This award is a validation of Quantinuum's leadership in trapped-ion quantum computing," said Dr. Rajeeb Hazra, President and CEO of Quantinuum. "Together with our domestic partners, we are building the technology and supply-chain foundation needed to scale fault-tolerant systems and strengthen America's leadership in this strategically important field."

The award will support R&D that the company expects to help strengthen and diversify its supply chain, adding onshore partners GlobalFoundries and Monarch Quantum. GlobalFoundries will be one of several of Quantinuum's foundries enlisted to fabricate its next-generation ion traps and other electronics, specifically focused on using 300mm wafer technology; Monarch Quantum plans to develop and manufacture scalable, reliable lasers and optical components required for Quantinuum's trapped-ion systems.

"As quantum computing moves closer to commercial scale, manufacturing will be critical to unlocking its full potential," said Tim Breen, CEO of GlobalFoundries. "GlobalFoundries is proud to partner with Quantinuum to help scale their trapped-ion technology. By bringing our expertise in high-volume, differentiated semiconductor manufacturing, we're helping create a path to more scalable, reliable quantum hardware and advancing the next generation of American innovation."

"The road to large-scale, trapped-ion quantum computers relies on moving away from complex, sprawling optical setups to scalable, reliable integrated photonics engines," said Dr. Timothy Day, CEO of Monarch Quantum. "We are honored to expand our partnership with Quantinuum to advance their hardware roadmap and to help strengthen U.S. leadership in quantum computing manufacturing and supply chain resilience."

Together, these efforts are intended to reduce system complexity and improve component robustness, reliability, and reproducibility, ultimately supporting the continued scaling of trapped-ion quantum computers, while strengthening domestic capability across critical photonics and semiconductor manufacturing.
