Key Features of the SEL814G

Fisheye zoom coverage from circular to diagonal fisheye

The 8 mm to 14 mm range delivers a broad set of fisheye perspectives in one compact lens. At 8 mm it shoots circular fisheye with a 180-degree angle of view projected as a circular image on a full-frame sensor. At 14 mm it shoots diagonal fisheye across the full frame with an 180-degree diagonal angle of view. You can match the angle of view and composition to the subject and creative intent, across landscapes, architecture, sports, and video production.

High-resolution G Lens performance across the zoom range

An optical design with ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and aspherical elements suppresses chromatic and other aberrations across the image area, holding high resolution throughout the zoom range. A minimum focusing distance of 0.15 m and maximum magnification of 0.22x at the telephoto end enable dramatic close-up fisheye perspectives for stills and movies.

Compact, lightweight design for high mobility and spatial content production

The lens measures approximately 63.1 mm in maximum diameter and 82.8 mm in length and weighs approximately 314 g, giving it mobility for handheld, gimbal, and rig-based shooting. An inner zoom mechanism minimizes shifts in the center of gravity while zooming. Using two sets of the VENICE Extension System Mini and this lens, side by side, positions the optical axes approximately 64 mm apart, close to the average interpupillary distance of human eyes supporting spatial content production, including Virtual Reality (VR), with a natural sense of depth and distance.

Autofocus performance and operability for stills and movies

The lens delivers fast, precise autofocus and Linear Response manual focus while suppressing focus breathing with quiet operation for movie production. Controls include a focus mode switch, zoom lock switch, and an aperture ring with switchable click stops. A dust- and moisture-resistant design2 and a fluorine coating on the front element support use in outdoor environments.

Monterey Bay Aquarium's Ocean in Motion / La Danza del Mar opens November 7, 2026

New exhibit encourages play and features an expanded African penguin habitat, big-bellied seahorses, and colorful coral reefs

MONTEREY, Calif., Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Monterey Bay Aquarium opens "Ocean in Motion / La Danza del Mar," on Saturday, November 7. The new bilingual exhibition aims to build empathy for ocean animals through movement and play. It features a vibrant coral reef with a custom-built wave machine, an expanded African penguin habitat, and multiple play areas that encourage children to connect with the ocean and its animals. The space, while created with children from 2 to 6 years old in mind, is welcoming to visitors of all ages.

"The main theme of this exhibit is building empathy with ocean life in kids through movement, so we've selected endearing animals that move in fun ways," said Monterey Bay Aquarium CEO Jenny Gray. "We want Ocean in Motion / La Danza del Mar to be a space of discovery, wonder, play, and connection that will make a lasting difference in the lives of our visitors and the health of our ocean. By inviting children to move their bodies like a penguin or a leaping blenny and mirror their behavior we're activating their brain's empathy engine through play, and creating a deep and joyful connection with ocean life."

Ocean in Motion / La Danza del Mar draws on research showing that empathy is a critical driver of long-term environmental engagement and care for the planet. The exhibit uses role-play and mimicry throughout to give children the animals' perspectives to create appreciation and care for marine life. Children (and adults) can move along with colorful, charismatic animals, peeking and hiding in a coral reef and splashing in a new water play area.

Aquarium staff carefully chose the animals in Ocean in Motion / La Danza del Mar to immerse visitors in these animals' habitats and encourage different movements. The species boast a variety of colors and move in a variety of ways: cuttlefish flutter, clownfish nestle among anemone tentacles, bluespotted ribbon tail rays ripple their fins, penguins waddle, and big-belly seahorses twist and wrap their tails around seagrass.

The exhibition's labels use a children's book tone and style with the animals as the main characters to further reinforce empathy. Caregivers can read the labels out loud, inviting children to consider the world from the animal's point of view.

"We wanted to create an experience where children connect with live animals through movement and play. Early in this project, we engaged with young children and their adults to ground our design in the movements and words children would intuitively express in relation to each animal," said Vice President of Exhibitions Emily Saich. "We're hoping visitors of all ages and abilities will move, play, explore, and connect with the animals and leave the Aquarium with a stronger commitment to protecting them and their ocean homes."

As a nonprofit, the Aquarium relies on visitations, memberships, and donations to bring new experiences and conservation work to life. Ocean in Motion / La Danza del Mar was made possible through the generosity of our members and donors, with special thanks to major leadership gifts provided by the Acton Family, Connie and Bob Lurie and Penguin Exhibit sponsors Susie and Gideon Yu Family.

Aquarium guests can expect a joyful experience from Ocean in Motion / La Danza del Mar filled with animals, interactive displays, and immersive activities. Highlights visitors see as they go through the new exhibit include:

- Big-belly seahorses: clusters of whimsical, larger-than-life seagrass towers toward the ceiling, to replicate big-bellied seahorse habitat. Visitors are encouraged to hold on to a seagrass cluster like a seahorse. As they keep going they will see a living exhibit with dozens of seahorses doing the same: holding, twisting, and wrapping their tails around bright-green strands of seagrass.

- Leaping blennies: shapes in the floor cue visitors to hop from rock to rock like blennies, and then to a large, open-top exhibit filled with dozens of leaping blennies close-up at eye level. Water washes over the rocky landscape they inhabit, causing the blennies to leap, hop, and sometimes flop across the wet stones.

- Coral community: In one of the largest individual exhibits, visitors can see bluespotted ribbontail rays ripple their fins as they glide up and over the reef. Around them, clownfish nestle, hide, and peek out from among anemone arms and colorful corals dazzle in the (20-foot-long) reef while a wave ripples through the water. Nearby, children can move up, over and through a coral-themed play area as if they are a tropical reef creature. The multisensory environment encourages full-body movement, with the primary pathway fully accessible to visitors of all ages and abilities.

- African penguins: projections of waddling and swimming penguins lead to a much-expanded penguin habitat that is the centerpiece of the gallery. Visitors can see penguins diving into the water for a swim while others preen, waddle, and rest on a rocky beach. To the right of the penguin habitat, digital interactives feature silhouettes of penguins in motion, inviting children to waddle, flap, and shake their tail like a penguin. As visitors connect with the penguins, they learn and begin to care more deeply about the impacts of a changing climate and overfishing on animals and what people can do to improve the chances of survival for this critically endangered species.

Become Monterey Bay Aquarium members to see the exhibit first during special preview events, and enjoy unlimited visits all year long while supporting the nonprofit Aquarium's global conservation, education, and research programs. When the exhibit opens, you can discover more about Ocean in Motion / La Danza del Mar online! Stay connected at home by watching the Penguin and Coral Reef cams, and following the aquarium's YouTube and social media channels. Download PDF Brochure: https://www.marketsandmarkets.com/pdfdownloadNew.asp?id=259878425

Growth is driven by the increasing prevalence of chronic wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and pressure injuries; the rising incidence of diabetes and peripheral vascular disorders; and the growing clinical adoption of regenerative and tissue-repair technologies. Increasing utilization of biological and synthetic skin substitutes, placental and extracellular matrix-based products, and growth factor-based therapies is also supporting market expansion. Greater emphasis on reducing wound-healing time, preventing amputations and other complications, and improving outcomes in difficult-to-heal wounds is further strengthening demand across hospitals, wound care centers, specialty clinics, and ambulatory settings.

Biological skin substitutes accounted for the largest share of the global active wound care market, by product type, in 2025.

Based on product type, the active wound care market is segmented into biological skin substitutes; biosynthetic/synthetic skin substitutes; topical agents, including growth factor- and cytokine-based agents and others; and other active wound care products, including collagen-based products. In 2025, biological skin substitutes accounted for the largest share, supported by their increasing use in chronic and complex wounds, growing clinical evidence supporting tissue regeneration, and the availability of a broad range of human donor tissue-derived and animal-derived products. Biological skin substitutes provide extracellular matrix structures and, depending on the product, viable cellular or biologically active components that support tissue repair and wound closure. Their increasing utilization in diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, burns, and other difficult-to-heal wounds continues to support the segment's leading market position.

Chronic wounds accounted for the largest share of the active wound care market, by wound type, in 2025.

Based on wound type, the market is segmented into chronic wounds and acute wounds. In 2025, chronic wounds accounted for the largest share, primarily due to their prolonged treatment duration, high recurrence rates, and increasing prevalence among aging and diabetic populations. Rising cases of diabetic foot ulcers, venous insufficiency, pressure injuries, peripheral vascular disease, and associated wound-healing complications are increasing demand for regenerative and biologically active wound care products.

Hospitals accounted for the largest share of the active wound care market, by end user, in 2025.

Based on end user, the market is segmented into hospitals; wound care centers and specialty clinics, including burn centers and trauma centers; ambulatory surgical centers; home healthcare settings; and other end users. In 2025, hospitals accounted for the largest share because they play a central role in managing severe and complex chronic wounds, surgical and dehisced wounds, burns, traumatic injuries, and patients requiring multidisciplinary wound care. Hospitals also perform a substantial number of debridement, reconstructive, grafting, and other surgical procedures in which advanced wound matrices and tissue substitutes may be used. Availability of wound care specialists, surgeons, multidisciplinary clinical teams, and access to advanced treatment technologies further supports the segment's dominant position.

Active Wound Care Market - Investment & funding +Merger & Acquisition

Investment Funding Context

Investment activity in the active wound care ecosystem remains substantial but has become more selective, with capital concentrating on differentiated regenerative technologies, clinically supported biological products, synthetic and biosynthetic tissue matrices, scalable manufacturing platforms, and products that can expand beyond reimbursement-dependent chronic-wound settings into burns, trauma, and complex surgical wounds. The scale of strategic capital committed to the sector is demonstrated by Coloplast's acquisition of Kerecis for up to USD 1.3 billion in 2023, including USD 1.2 billion upfront. The transaction provided Coloplast entry into the high-growth US biologics wound care market through Kerecis' intact fish-skin regenerative technology.

Strategic funding has continued to favor companies with differentiated platforms and opportunities to diversify into acute and surgical wound care. In December 2025, Solventum completed its acquisition of Acera Surgical after agreeing to pay USD 725 million in cash plus up to USD 125 million in contingent payments. Acera adds fully engineered synthetic tissue matrices based on electrospinning technology and gives Solventum greater exposure to regenerative tissue matrices in acute-care settings. In July 2026, MIMEDX agreed to acquire Sanara MedTech at an enterprise value of approximately USD 350 million; MIMEDX obtained a committed USD 300 million term loan from Hayfin Capital Management to finance the cash component alongside cash on hand.

Growth-stage wound care companies are also accessing debt and non-dilutive funding to expand commercialization, manufacturing capacity, and clinical evidence. AVITA Medical secured a five-year credit facility of up to USD 60 million from Perceptive Advisors in January 2026, with USD 50 million funded initially, to refinance existing debt and support further growth of its acute wound care portfolio. MIMEDX had earlier established USD 95 million of senior secured credit facilities in 2024 to strengthen its capital structure, while PolyNovo reported an additional USD 10 million of BARDA funding supporting its pivotal NovoSorb BTM full-thickness burn trial.

At the same time, the investment environment has become more sensitive to clinical evidence, product differentiation, reimbursement durability, manufacturing economics, and care-setting diversification. CMS fundamentally changed US Medicare payment for skin substitutes beginning in 2026, replacing the previous product-specific model with payment as incident-to supplies and establishing a single payment rate of approximately USD 127.28 for 2026 across the identified regulatory categories. CMS expects the change to substantially reduce Medicare spending on these products. This change increases investor emphasis on companies with evidence-supported products, efficient manufacturing, broader hospital and surgical exposure, and less reliance on historical physician-office reimbursement spreads.

Revenue Shift Context

The active wound care market is shifting from a revenue model heavily influenced by high-value physician-office skin-substitute reimbursement toward a more diversified mix of regenerative products across chronic wounds, hospital-based acute wounds, burns, trauma, and complex surgical applications. The 2026 Medicare payment reform is accelerating this transition by reducing the economic advantage previously associated with product-specific reimbursement and increasing the importance of clinical differentiation, appropriate patient selection, treatment economics, and evidence generation.

SOUTHERLAND COMMUNITIES ACQUIRES THE RESERVE AT ST. CHARLES BAY

Texas developer brings new investment and momentum to premier waterfront community on the Texas Coastal Bend.

ROCKPORT, Texas, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Southerland Communities, a family-owned Texas development company, today announced the acquisition of The Reserve at St. Charles Bay, a premier waterfront residential community in Rockport, Texas.

Established in 2008 by McCombs Enterprises, The Reserve at St. Charles Bay is the Coastal Bend's premiere bayfront and canal community featuring luxury homes and resort-style amenities. Located adjacent to Goose Island State Park on Rockport's serene Lamar Penisula, the community is a water and nature lover's paradise. Every home is waterfront and most feature backyard docks allowing residents to reach open water in the Aransas Bay system within minutes.

"The Reserve is an extraordinary community in an exceptional coastal setting," said Jay Patterson, President of Southerland Communities. "We have tremendous respect for what McCombs Enterprises has created, and we look forward to building upon that legacy while creating new opportunities for more Texas families to enjoy this remarkable part of the coast."

Led by Jay Patterson and Dan Mullins, Southerland Communities has a long history of developing thoughtfully planned residential communities throughout Texas. The company's development experience, family-owned approach and appreciation for the Texas coast position Southerland well to steward The Reserve's legacy growth.

The Texas coast is also personal for Patterson and Mullins. Both grew up spending time along the Texas coast and today own property there, continuing to spend significant time in the area with their families. That firsthand connection has given them a deep appreciation for the coast - not only for its natural beauty and recreational opportunities, but also for the people, traditions and communities that make the Coastal Bend such a special place to live. Their personal ties to the area make The Reserve a particularly meaningful opportunity for Southerland Communities as the company looks to invest in the property and help shape its next chapter.

120 privately owned homes have already been built at The Reserve. The community also features a 500-foot fishing pier, resort-style pool, parks, protected wetlands, and more than two miles of waterfront boardwalks. About half of the property's 130 acres remains for continued residential development. Southerland Communities plans to continue investing in the property with additional canals, waterfront homesites and amenities.

"We are proud to pass The Reserve baton to Southerland Communities," said Harry Adams, Managing Director of McCombs Enterprises. "Like McCombs, Southerland is a family-owned Texas company that understands the importance of building for generations. They are the ideal partner to carry The Reserve forward - creating a special place where Texas families can return year after year to make lifetime memories."

Bybit Launches FX Perpetual Contracts, Adding Major Currency Pairs to TradFi Derivatives

Original HTML

DUBAI, UAE, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bybit, the world's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, announced the debut of Forex (FX) Perpetual Contracts, a new product category among its derivatives offerings, launching with three pairs: EURUSDUSDT, GBPUSDUSDT, and USDJPYUSDT. The three pairs are USDT-settled and track their respective spot exchange rates without an expiry date, giving traders continuous exposure to the world's most heavily traded currency pairs using crypto assets as collateral.

FX is a core pillar of global finance, underpinning international trade, cross-border commerce, and currency risk management for businesses and institutions worldwide. Turnover in OTC FX markets averaged $9.6 trillion per day in April 2025, up 28% from $7.5 trillion in 2022, and interest rate derivatives increased to $7.9 trillion per day, according to the latest BIS Triennial Central Bank Survey. The scale of the addressable market gives skilled traders and investors the opportunity to strategically navigate FX exposure, and Bybit Perpetuals now offers a new avenue for accessing it.

In addition, FX Perpetual Contracts can serve as an accessible currency hedging mechanism for Bybit traders seeking to safeguard portfolio gains against FX volatility. As global traders anticipate potential interest rate hike cycles in late 2026 and 2027, the ability to manage foreign exchange exposure seamlessly with crypto collateral provides flexibility and convenience.

The listings extend Bybit's TradFi Perpetuals suite, which launched in April 2026 and has since grown to more than 200 assets spanning global equities, commodities, ETFs, and pre-IPO names. Bybit's FX Perpetuals bring the same crypto-native mechanics, including funding rates, dynamic leverage, and full integration with Bybit's Unified Trading Account, to the foreign exchange market. Bybit's FX Perpetuals are tradable around the clock, allowing users to respond to weekend macro developments, central bank statements, and geopolitical events without waiting for the underlying market to reopen.

EUR/USD and USD/JPY are the two most traded currency pairs globally, together accounting for a significant share of daily FX turnover, while GBP/USD is closely watched around the UK central bank's policy decisions. The launch places Bybit alongside a small number of crypto-native platforms that have introduced crypto-collateralized FX perpetual products in recent months, as exchanges increasingly compete to bridge traditional and digital asset markets on a single account.

FX Perpetual Contracts are available now on Bybit, complementing existing TradFi Perpetuals and other TradFi and RWA offerings. As with all leveraged derivatives products, FX Perpetuals carry liquidation risk and are intended for traders who understand margin trading; Bybit encourages users to review contract specifications and risk disclosures before trading.

Nearly Three Quarters Believe American Academia is Worse Equipped Today to Pursue Truth-Seeking and Unbiased Education; Two-Thirds Say Students Cannot Correctly Identify the Causes and Perpetrators of the 9/11 Attacks

WASHINGTON, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- According to a new survey conducted by the Association for the Study of the Middle East and Africa (ASMEA) on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001:

- Two-thirds (66%) of Middle East studies professors believe that scholarly academic work has generated cover for ideologies, groups, or regimes directly hostile to the United States.

- In addition, two-thirds (66%) of the professors asked do not believe that their students can correctly identify the causes or perpetrators of the attacks.

- As the survey shows, these responses are part of a larger decline in academic standards and practices, leading to increased ideological biases and diminishing adherence to free and unfettered research. An overwhelming majority of respondents, 71 percent, said that American academia is worse equipped today than it was 25 years ago to pursue truth-seeking as its central mission. This response holds across all fields, ranks, institution types or career lengths.

"We've long read reports in the press alerting us to various biases in American academia," said Asaf Romirowsky, PhD, ASMEA's Executive Director. "Our most recent survey proves that the concerns aren't merely anecdotal, and that we're facing a pandemic of ideological bias preventing our institutions of higher education from pursuing their stated goals. In the 25 years since 9/11, we desperately needed scholars to help us make sense of the Middle East and guide us towards policies that best serve America's interests and national security concerns. Instead, we were met with zealotry that discarded facts and observable reality in favor of anti-American sentiments and commitments. That's a real tragedy."

And the bias, the survey suggests, grows more pronounced with time: Younger academics who have obtained their positions in the past decade or so were far more likely to report self-censorship to fit in with required departmental dogmas.

"It hardly takes a tenured professor to know that requiring all faculty members to hold the exact same views or else risk termination is a terrible way to guarantee academic freedom," Romirowsky said. "If 9/11 taught us anything, it's that we can't afford to risk any illusions about the world around us. And, for the last 25 years, we've been blindsided by scholars more interested in pushing their dangerous ideas than in observing the world as it truly is. If we want to make sure we're never again caught unaware as we were that terrible day a quarter of a century ago, there can be no more pressing priority than addressing our survey's findings and making American universities committed to truth again."

This survey was conducted from August 6-28, with 470 respondents. To read more of the report, click here.

Bigger Budgets, Less Relief: 83% of In-House Teams Expect Legal Budgets to Increase in 2027, Yet 55% Still Expect Workload to Outpace Budget
Image File
Original HTML

The findings come from the Axiom 2027 In-House Legal Budget Report, a global study of 510 in-house legal and finance leaders across six countries, conducted by InsightDynamo and commissioned by Axiom. Sixty-four percent of respondents represent companies with $1 billion or more in annual revenue. The full report benchmarks budgets by company revenue, team size, and region and gives legal leaders peer data to bring into budget season.

For years, budget math was simple. Workload went up, the budget went up, and you either hired another lawyer or sent the work to a firm," said Sara Morgan, Chief Legal AI and Talent Officer at Axiom. "That formula is breaking down. Compensation is climbing, firm rates are climbing, and AI mandates arrive without funding. So legal teams cover it from other lines, the gains take longer to land than anyone planned, and the work still has a deadline. The firm gets the call by default, not because it's the only option. Law firms win either way, and a bigger budget doesn't break that cycle. It just funds another year of it."

Other key takeaways from this year's study:

- AI mandates are typically unfunded. When the business asks legal to implement AI, the funding does not come with it 92% of the time, up from 78% a year ago. Teams absorb the cost by pulling from other line items, usually the existing technology budget, and AI spend grows as adoption spreads across the department.

- AI is raising law firm bills, not lowering them. Fifty-nine percent of legal leaders say their law firms raised fees while positioning AI as a value-add, roughly double last year's share. Firms pass savings through more often than they did a year ago, but AI is unlikely to curb law firm rates in any material way anytime soon.

- First-year associate rates are a pain point. Outside counsel rates rose for 85% of teams over the past year, and many single out first-year associate pricing as a key reason they are shifting work elsewhere — usually to alternative legal service providers (ALSP).

- Talent costs keep climbing even as hiring gets easier. Fully loaded compensation rose for 83% of in-house teams over the past year and fell for none, yet clear majorities say both recruiting and retention have gotten easier. Teams are paying more for talent in a market that has, by their own account, loosened.

The teams getting out from under this vicious cycle are changing how they deploy their budgets rather than simply asking for more. Run-the-company work that once went to law firms by default is coming back under in-house control, supported by ALSPs, AI tools, and smaller firms. More than six in ten teams increased their ALSP use over the past year, and nearly seven in ten expect to spend more within two years. Cost is not the main factor. Quality, specialized expertise, and integration all rank higher as reasons in-house teams use alternative providers. Price seals the decision, but it isn't what prompts it.

In most cases, CFOs are the ones pushing. Eighty-three percent of CFOs suggest or actively encourage moving law firm work to alternative providers, and just 2% would rather Legal stick with its established firms. Axiom's 2026 GC Report found the same trajectory earlier this year, with 80% of in-house legal leaders planning to move significant firm work in-house or to alternative providers within 24 months.

"Legal leaders have long faced pressure on their budgets, but rising workloads, law firm costs, and expectations around technology have made that pressure harder to manage," said Kirke Weaver, Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Organon. "Companies also ask legal departments to demonstrate clearer value, often without providing meaningful new funding. Legal leaders need credible, flexible ways to maintain quality, manage risk, and make smarter resourcing decisions, so they can turn budget growth into real capacity and impact, rather than simply absorb the higher costs."

"Flex capacity used to be the thing you reached for when something broke," said Chase Farmer, Chief Commercial Officer at Axiom. "The legal teams handling today's pressures most effectively have incorporated it into the operating model instead. They decide at the start of the year what share of the work should be handled by flex resources to maximize budget agility and ensure that they are allocating work strategically rather than reactively."

This year's report also works as a benchmark. Legal budgets average roughly $22.4 million overall, from about $7 million at companies under $1 billion in revenue to $49 million above $5 billion. By team size, departments of 15 lawyers or fewer average $9.5 million, while those of 51 or more average $33 to $34 million.

Along with the report, Axiom is offering a free legal spend consultation, a customized assessment that helps legal departments model the potential cost impact of moving work from traditional law firms to Axiom. As the year closes, the consultation can also help teams identify how Axiom can help support backlogged projects, get a jump-start on 2027 initiatives, or simply create additional capacity to relieve the in-house team during the end-of-year sprint.

"Nobody walks into budget season with a comparison," Farmer said. "A GC knows exactly what their own department spent last year and has no idea whether that's high or low for a company of their size. So, what the CFO hears is a bigger number and more money Put the rest of the market on the table, and the meeting changes. You stop arguing over the percentage and start talking about what the work actually costs. And the next question is always the same: what happens if some of this work doesn't go to the firm? That's a number you can run before you commit to anything."

Bright Uro expands Board Leadership with addition of two Medtech and Urology Industry Veterans

Joseph DeVivo and Ted Lamson, Ph.D. join Bright Uro's Board, bringing decades of medical device leadership, digital health innovation and urology device commercialization experience to guide the company's next phase of growth

IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bright Uro, Inc., the company transforming care for lower urinary tract dysfunction (LUTD) through innovations in urodynamics, today announced the addition of two accomplished medical device pioneers to its Board: Joseph DeVivo, President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Butterfly Network, will serve as a Board Director, and Ted Lamson, Ph.D., co-founder and co-inventor of the UroLift® System at NeoTract, will serve as a Strategic Advisor to the Board of Directors. The appointments come as Bright Uro accelerates commercialization of the Glean® Urodynamics System — the first wireless, catheter-free urodynamics platform to offer multi-channel studies — and continues development of Urodynamic Intelligence™, its proprietary AI and machine learning platform for interpreting urodynamic data.

Joseph DeVivo is President, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Butterfly Network, a pioneer and leader in semiconductor-based ultrasound, cloud software and AI. He brings 37 years of business leadership, including more than two decades in medical devices and nearly a decade in digital health. Over his career, DeVivo has acquired and integrated eight companies, led four business turnarounds, and delivered three company exits as CEO and two as Chairman. Prior to Butterfly Network, DeVivo led InTouch Health and Teladoc Health's Hospitals and Health Systems business, and previously chaired the board of Caption Health, an AI-guided ultrasound company. He has served on the AdvaMed Board for 15 years, including as Chairman of its Center for Digital Health.

Ted Lamson, Ph.D. is the co-founder and co-inventor of the UroLift® System, the minimally invasive BPH implant that became one of urology's most widely adopted device-based therapies. Lamson served as President and CEO of NeoTract, then as Chief Technical Officer, guiding UroLift through FDA clearance, reimbursement and a $1.1 billion acquisition by Teleflex Incorporated. He holds more than 100 patents and received the Endourological Society's Industry Award for Innovations in Endourological Instrumentation. Lamson currently serves as Special Advisor to multiple urology device companies including ProVerum and Calyxo.

Both appointees bring experience directly relevant to Bright Uro's mission and growth stage. DeVivo's track record scaling connected, software-enabled diagnostic and digital health platforms — including his leadership of an AI-guided ultrasound company — closely mirrors Bright Uro's work building Urodynamic Intelligence™. Lamson's experience taking a novel urology device from concept through FDA clearance and a category-defining commercial exit speaks directly to the path Bright Uro is charting for the Glean Urodynamics System within the broader urology device landscape.

"Glean is doing for urodynamics what connected, data-driven platforms have done across the rest of medtech — replacing a cumbersome, artisanal process with something more streamlined, consistent, and built to scale. I've spent my career helping devices like this cross the gap from clinical promise to standard of care, and I see that same inflection point here." — Joseph DeVivo

"UroLift taught me that even clinically transformative technologies only reach patients by building a solid path to adoption. Glean is tackling something urodynamics has lived with for decades — a test that's highly operator dependent and inconsistent because of the catheters and setup it requires. I'm looking forward to helping Bright Uro continue on the path to becoming the preferred modality for the field." — Ted Lamson, Ph.D.

"I couldn't be more excited to work alongside and learn from Joe and Ted. They each have taken a device from clinical insight to standard of care — Joe by scaling connected, AI-enabled platforms across health systems, and Ted by building UroLift into one of the most innovative and widely adopted therapies in urology. They've led at every stage of the journey, and their guidance will be invaluable as we rapidly accelerate commercial growth at Bright Uro." — Derek Herrera, Founder and CEO, Bright Uro

The appointments come as Kurt Azarbarzin rejoins the Board, alongside current directors Jane Kiernan, Sofia Gerard and Derek Herrera.
