Build Ready Sites grants will help Harnett County and Greensboro prepare for future industry as NCRR opens its next funding round

RALEIGH, N.C., Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The North Carolina Railroad Company (NCRR) awarded $1 million in Build Ready Sites grants to Harnett County and Greensboro to prepare rail-served industrial sites for future economic development opportunities. NCRR also opened applications for the next round of the competitive grant program.

The communities each received $500,000 to address development barriers and prepare the properties for prospective industrial customers.

"The best time to prepare for an economic development opportunity is before it arrives," said Carl Warren, president and CEO of the North Carolina Railroad Company. "Build Ready Sites gives communities the resources to reduce development risk and put stronger sites in front of companies looking to invest in North Carolina."

Harnett County received $500,000 to help bring an 83-acre site, of which 58 acres are developable, to the market at the Byrd Industrial Sites in Lillington. The grant will support engineering and clearing and grading of an access road to make the property accessible for rail-served manufacturers. The 83-acre site is one of the three sites within the 224-acre property, two of which are rail-served.

"Preparing and protecting rail-served sites puts Harnett County in a smaller pool of communities that compete for manufacturers requiring rail," said Stephen Barrington, Harnett County's economic development director. "We are grateful for North Carolina Railroad's investment and partnership in helping us advance the Byrd Industrial Sites, ultimately spurring new jobs in our community."

Greensboro received $500,000 to prep 132 acres near Summit Avenue and Brown Summit Road in Guilford County. The Reedy Fork Industrial Site includes five tracts being prepared for future industrial development. The grant will support clearing and grading on the northwest portion of the property.

"Having strong industrial sites ready when opportunities arise is important to Greensboro's continued growth," said Marshall Yandle, Greensboro economic development manager. "NCRR's investment is a valuable partnership as we prepare this property for future development. This support will help us move the site forward and give prospective employers greater certainty as they evaluate Greensboro for their operations."

NCRR opened applications Sept. 8 for the next round of Build Ready Sites funding. The program helps communities prepare rail-served industrial properties and strengthen their ability to compete for new industry. Communities interested in applying should:

- Review the program guidelines.

- Submit an initial application including details on the applying organization, contact information, site address and site details.

Applications will be accepted through Friday, Oct. 2, 2026.

Fully Primed! FOTON Arrives at Hannover IAA with Full Product Range

BEIJING, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Driven by the global low-carbon wave, Europe, with stringent access rules and well-developed logistics, has become a vital testing ground for new-energy commercial vehicles worldwide. Guided by its internationalization strategy, FOTON has gone beyond simple single-product exports, delivering comprehensive localized solutions covering products, technology, supply chain and after-sales services.

At the 2026 Hannover IAA Transportation, FOTON runs a booth of over 1,000 square meters in Hall 21 with the theme "EASY MOVE". It exhibits seven complete vehicles and six self-developed core components tailored for mainstream European transport scenarios, ranging from long-haul logistics, urban sanitation and city delivery to public passenger transit. Exhibits cover multiple new-energy models as well as self-developed heavy-duty batteries, e-axles, electronic controls and megawatt charging piles, showcasing FOTON's full-chain independent research and development strength.

Holding WVTA and VECTO certifications, FOTON's new-energy products are gaining ground across European countries. Its European Regional Parts Distribution Center in Unna, Germany is officially operational to lift local after-sales response efficiency. Supported by 32 overseas localized factories, more than 1,200 sales outlets and over 1,500 service points, FOTON has built a closed-loop service system for vehicle delivery, parts supply and maintenance. From January to August 2026, FOTON's export volume hit 149,000 units, rising 44.3% year-on-year.

On September 14, Media Day (08:40–09:10 local time in Germany, and live-streamed simultaneously at 14:40–15:10 in China), FOTON will make three major strategic announcements:

First, it will unveil a new strategy for the European market, encompassing new-energy product iteration, localized business operations, and service ecosystem development, with a deep commitment to Europe's low-carbon transformation of commercial vehicles and the provision of full-lifecycle transport solutions.

Second, it will celebrate the milestone of delivering its 13-millionth vehicle globally, with this model set to debut first in the Spanish market, marking a key moment in FOTON's globalization journey.

Third, premiering the CAVAN BEACON—a versatile electric/hydrogen heavy truck for 300km+ long-haul—alongside 7 NEVs and 6 self-developed components (three-electric, megawatt charging), showcasing full tech independence and a Chinese zero-carbon logistics solution.

The booth will remain open to global dealers, customers, and media from Sept 15–20. Partners ZF, CATL, and EVE Energy will also be present, showcasing collaborative supply-chain strength.

This appearance stands as FOTON's new starting point in Europe and a solid demonstration of Chinese smart manufacturing on the global stage.

Zendure gewinnt zwei Auszeichnungen bei den Global Product Technology Innovation Awards 2026 - SolarFlow 4000 Mix Pro holt Gold

Auf der IFA 2026 in Berlin wurde das Flaggschiff von Zendure, das SolarFlow 4000 Mix Pro, mit dem Gold-Award in der Kategorie „Sustainable Home Energy Storage System" ausgezeichnet, während Zendure den „Smart Energy Solutions Brand Award" erhielt.

BERLIN, 8.

Sustainable Home Energy Storage System Gold Award — SolarFlow 4000 Mix Pro

Smart Energy Solutions Brand Award – Zendure

September in Berlin, Halle 2.2, Stand 124.

Nine organizations renew agreements with PlayVS, reinforcing a shared commitment to the continued growth of scholastic esports

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- PlayVS, the leading scholastic esports competition platform in North America, today announced that it will enter the 2026–27 school year working alongside 25 state and regional partners. The milestone reflects eight years of collaboration with organizations committed to expanding access to esports and establishing it within the trusted framework of school-based sports and activities.

Ahead of the new season, PlayVS has also renewed agreements with nine of those partners:

- Arkansas Activities Association

- Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference

- Hawaii High School Athletic Association

- Kentucky High School Athletic Association

- Maine Principals' Association

- Massachusetts School Administrators' Association

- Oregon School Activities Association

- South Carolina Scholastic Esports

- Virginia High School League

Several of these relationships date back to the earliest years of PlayVS and have helped shape the foundation of scholastic esports nationwide. Through their continued leadership and support, state and regional partners have helped schools introduce structured competition, create meaningful opportunities for students, and gain broader recognition for esports within their communities.

PlayVS has also worked alongside the NFHS Network since the company's launch. As a foundational national partner, the NFHS Network has helped PlayVS build relationships with state associations, open doors in new states, and introduce scholastic esports to more school communities across the country. Its support has played an important role in the continued growth and recognition of esports as a school-based activity.

"Scholastic esports has reached this point because trusted education, activities, and athletics organizations were willing to lead alongside us," said Charles O'Donnell, Head of Partnerships at PlayVS. "The renewal of these agreements reflects years of shared work, honest collaboration, and a sustained belief in what esports can provide for students. We are proud of the foundation we have built together and remain focused on earning that trust in every season ahead."

Since launching its first official season eight years ago, PlayVS has worked with state associations, regional organizations, schools, and educators to create accessible and sustainable esports programs. These partnerships have enabled PlayVS to support students across diverse communities while giving schools the structure, resources and competitive experiences needed to build programs designed to last.

The 2026–27 season represents both a continuation of that work and an opportunity to build upon it. PlayVS will remain focused on supporting its partners, strengthening the experience for participating schools and creating more opportunities for students to compete, connect and represent their communities.

Sony FE 8-14mm F3.5 G First Fisheye E-Mount Zoom Announced: YouTube First Look Video FE 8-14mm F3.5 G Lens; More Info at B&H Photo

Original HTML

Landing amongst Sony's G series lenses, the new fisheye zoom combines optical performance, high-speed autofocus, hybrid versatility, and compact mobility. The Sony 8-14mm zoom lens boasts 16 elements in 13 groups, with both internal focusing and zoom mechanisms to keep the build compact and balanced. The fisheye image moves from an equally solid circular fisheye to an equidistant diagonal fisheye as the lens zooms from wide to tele.

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1998805-REG/sony_fe_8_14mm_f_3_5_fisheye.html

Product Highlights

- Full-Frame | f/3.5 to f/22 Aperture

- Circular-to-Diagonal Fisheye Zoom Range

- Autofocus Design | 5.9" Close Focus

- Ideal for Video, Photo & VR Imaging

- Independent Focus, Zoom & Aperture Rings

- AF/MF/FH & Zoom Lock Switches

- Dust- & Moisture-Resistant Design

- Rear Filter Holder & Cutting Template

The optical design—which features extra-low dispersion, aspherical, and extra-low dispersion aspherical glass—controls color fringing across the frame and enables a minimum focus distance of just 8.7".

The FE 8-14mm f/3.5 G achieves its high-performance autofocus through two linear motors primed for both stills and video. The lens can accommodate the high-speed, 120 fps tracking available on Sony's advanced camera bodies, as well as achieving reliable tracking when shooting with high-frame rates.

Other video benefits include minimized focus breathing and Linear Response manual focus, which ensures predictable and controlled focus pulling.

Additionally, Sony has optimized the new lens for professional 3D VR capture when used with compatible cameras.

Sony's sophisticated optical design yields one of the lightest fisheye zooms on the market, landing at 11.1 oz and 3.3" in length. Its size does not concede durability: dust- and weather-resistance, a fluorine front element coating, and a bespoke lens hood all prove the lens can work in the elements.

A rear filter holder allows for the application of light-modifying filters, while the aperture ring, aperture click switch, focus mode switch, focus hold button, and zoom lock switch all offer precision on-body control.

Memorial Hermann Health System Clinicians Use Epic's AI Tool to Help Patients Better Understand Test Results
Image File
Original HTML

HOUSTON, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Clinicians at Memorial Hermann Health System (MHHS) are using a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool built directly into Epic to help patients better understand their test results and to make informed decisions about next steps in their care journey.

Epic's Art is an AI-powered assistant that helps clinicians streamline documentation. As clinicians review lab and imaging results in Epic's In Basket, Art helps generate an initial draft patient note in real time, using clear, patient-friendly language instead of complex medical terms. Clinicians can then review, edit and personalize the draft, giving them more time to focus on the patient's care and next steps.

For patients, receiving a test result can often raise questions about what it means, how it impacts other conditions they may have and what action they need to take. Art helps clinicians proactively address these questions, providing the patients with information they can use to better understand their results.

Since Memorial Hermann began using the feature, patients have sent 32% fewer follow-up messages about test results when clinicians started with Art's draft, reducing the number of return questions while helping patients receive the information they need at the time they receive their results. Art has helped Memorial Hermann's care teams write over 55,000 messages to patients. So far, clinicians who have started with Art's draft have saved an average of nine seconds per result comment.

"The starting point that Art provides is incredibly helpful in providing more thorough and informative test result follow-up notes that clinicians can review, edit and personalize before sharing with the patient," said Dr. Ryan Walsh, associate vice president and chief medical information officer for Memorial Hermann Health System. "This technology is designed to support, not replace, the role of the clinician's judgment and relationship with the patient."

Memorial Hermann piloted the feature in December of 2025 in their innovation clinic for clinician feedback and has quickly expanded use across the System. "This approach provides other organizations a model for rolling this out at scale," says Shashank Raghu, senior director of R&D for Clinical Communications and Mobile Solutions at Epic. "Memorial Hermann showed that the sooner you can pair clinician expertise with AI efficiency across the organization, the sooner you start to see meaningful impact on how care teams communicate with patients."

Parseur Achieves SOC 2 Type II Compliance with Oneleet, Strengthening Enterprise-Grade Security for AI Document Processing

Parseur Achieves SOC 2 Type II Compliance with Oneleet, Strengthening Enterprise-Grade Security for AI Document Processing

AI document processing platform serving 10,000+ businesses globally meets security standards as enterprises demand greater accountability from AI vendors.

SINGAPORE, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Parseur, an AI-powered document processing platform, today announced it has achieved SOC 2 Type II Compliance following an independent audit conducted by Constellation GRC, demonstrating its commitment to the highest standards of security, availability, and confidentiality for enterprise customers handling sensitive business documents.

The whole process took around 6 months and verified that Parseur's systems and controls consistently meet the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Trust Services Criteria. For organizations processing invoices, contracts, financial records, and other sensitive documents through Parseur's platform, the report provides independently verified assurance that their data is protected to enterprise standards.

"More and more of our customers were asking for SOC 2 compliance. Businesses want assurance about how their data is handled before they send us their invoices and contracts, and SOC 2 is the standard way to give them that answer. It's a serious undertaking for a team our size, and we got through it in a few months because much of the groundwork was already there, from our day-to-day controls to everything we built for GDPR and other data privacy regulations. We chose Oneleet because we wanted the audit to actually improve our security posture, not just collect a badge for the website. Today an independent auditor confirms what we tell customers about how we handle their data, and I'm incredibly proud of what the team achieved," said Sylvestre Dupont, co-founder and CEO of Parseur.

The report strengthens an already comprehensive compliance framework. Parseur is compliant with EU GDPR, UK GDPR, Swiss FADP, California CCPA, and Singapore PDPA, covering the primary data privacy regulations across its key markets in Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific. The platform is EU-hosted, undergoes annual penetration testing by Oneleet, runs continuous automated security monitoring, and maintains a strict policy of never using customer data to train its AI models.

The achievement is particularly notable for a bootstrapped company. Parseur has operated profitably since 2017 without outside investment, building enterprise-grade security infrastructure alongside its core AI document processing capabilities. The company processes millions of documents annually for more than 10,000 businesses across 5 continents, competing directly with significantly larger, venture-backed platforms.

"Parseur came in with a mature, well-documented approach to security," said Kevin Baker at Oneleet. "For a bootstrapped team of their size, the depth of their controls and the consistency of their practices were surprisingly strong. EU-hosted infrastructure and a no-training policy on customer data are the first things to evaluate in an AI vendor."

SOC 2 Type II compliance is becoming a prerequisite for enterprise AI vendor approval, particularly in regulated industries where document data includes personally identifiable information, financial records, and legally sensitive content. Parseur's report removes a key procurement barrier for enterprise customers in these sectors and signals the company's readiness to serve the market's most security-conscious organizations.
