The Super Bowl champion encouraged families to get healthcare screenings and free mammograms.

ARLINGTON, Texas, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Hundreds of individuals from the Dallas-Fort Worth area attended a Community Health Fair over the weekend at AT&T Stadium. The event, hosted by Ambetter from Superior HealthPlan, offered attendees access to health screenings, mammograms, community resources and family activities, as well as an opportunity to meet Dallas Cowboys legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Drew Pearson.

Pearson, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and member of the Dallas Cowboys from 1973 to 1983, headlined the event. A three-time First Team All-Pro, Super Bowl XII champion, and member of the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor, Pearson spoke with attendees about the importance of preventive care.

"We want to thank Drew Pearson and the dozens of community organizations that came together to make this health fair a success," said Mitch Wasden, President and CEO of Superior HealthPlan. "We were able to provide a variety of health screenings, vision checkups, and support services for those in attendance. We also want to thank AT&T Stadium for helping us host this special event."

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a mobile mammography unit was also onsite providing screenings. Regular mammograms are one of the most effective tools for detecting breast cancer early, when treatment is often most successful.

"Breast cancer screenings save lives," said Dr. Rutu Ezhuthachan, Chief Medical Officer for Superior HealthPlan. "Many people delay preventive screenings because of cost, transportation challenges, or busy schedules. By bringing mammography services directly into the community, we can help remove barriers and make it easier for women to prioritize their health."

Financial Street Forum's annual conference opens

BEIJING, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A news report from China Daily.

The Annual Conference of Financial Street Forum 2026 opened on Monday in Beijing, bringing together more than 400 distinguished guests from around the world.

The theme of this year's conference is "Building an Open Collaborative and Inclusive Ecosystem for Global Financial Development".

When formulating the theme, the main consideration was that changes unseen in a century are accelerating across the globe; the world economy and global financial operations are confronted with challenges, Zeng Linfeng, executive secretary-general of the secretariat of the annual conference's organizing committee and acting head of Beijing's Xicheng district, said at a news conference prior to the forum.

"There is an urgent need to build consensus through openness, overcome difficulties via cooperation, and seek common ground while embracing differences with inclusiveness," Zeng said.

"This year's annual conference calls for more efforts to better coordinate financial development and security, expand development space through opening-up, step up systemic resilience through cooperation, and deliver mutual benefits and win-win outcomes through an inclusive approach," he added.

During the four-day event, a main forum, several parallel forums as well as three conferences on fintech, insurance and investment are set to take place.

The main forum includes opening and closing ceremonies as well as five thematic activities hosted by the People's Bank of China, the National Financial Regulatory Administration, the China Securities Regulatory Commission, Xinhua News Agency and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, respectively.

Leaders of the world's top financial firms such as Standard Chartered and DWS Group will attend the activity of SAFE on Thursday, offering their perspectives on cross-border financial development and cooperation under the new global landscape.

These activities will also discuss topics such as long-term investment opportunities in China's capital market under two-way opening-up and healthy interactions between the financial market and the real economy.

Adhering to the philosophy of opening-up, parallel forums have invited government officials from home and abroad, along with experts, scholars and representatives of international financial institutions. They will share their insights into two major themes: high-level opening-up of the finance sector and financial support for high-quality economic development, aiming to advance international financial cooperation and create a more open, inclusive and resilient financial environment that serves the real economy.

Test, don't guess! New study shows why measuring more than the omega-3 status matters, and highlights distinct results among Zinzino Balance Concept users

GOTHENBURG, Sweden, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Global dietary data suggest that billions of adults are not getting the daily recommended dose of omega-3 from fatty fish, yet in a crowded supplement market, simply taking omega-3 does not tell anyone where they stand. A new study based on 762,150 blood samples adds large-scale real-world evidence to the value of a test-based approach. People who reported following Zinzino's structured Balance Concept for at least 120 days showed higher omega-3 levels and a more balanced omega-6:3 ratio than both non-users and people taking omega-3 supplements on their own. The findings also show why a broader fatty acid profile matters: omega-3 levels alone do not tell the whole story.

Zinzino's Balance Concept is simple: take a fatty acid test to establish a baseline measure of one's nutritional status before following a supplement routine with omega-3 intake tailored to their body weight. Every 120 days, take another test to track changes over time and evaluate the outcome with measurable data.

The omega-3 market is crowded with supplements making similar promises, but there are far fewer options for people who want to measure the effect. There's an important difference between simply taking an omega-3 supplement and following a structured, test-based approach such as Zinzino's Balance Concept. In a saturated category, this study adds meaningful real-world evidence to that distinction, and underscores an equally simple point: omega-3 supplementation alone doesn't tell anyone where they stand. Measurement does. Zinzino's BalanceOil sits within a test-based system designed around a fatty acid test to measure one's baseline fatty acid profile, tailor their intake, and track changes over time.

A fatty acid test measures different fatty acids in the blood and presents the results as a set of biomarkers. The omega-6:3 ratio shows the balance between these two fatty acids (AA/EPA), while the Omega-3 index WB measures EPA and DHA levels in whole blood.

The study showed that the Omega-3 index WB alone doesn't tell the whole story. Even with a comparable omega-3 index, the groups could still have very different omega-6:3 ratio results, highlighting the value of looking at a broader fatty-acid profile rather than relying on a single number. People who reported using the Balance Concept for at least 120 days had a higher Omega-3 index WB, lower omega-6:3 ratio and a tighter spread of omega-6:3 results than both non-users and the group of people who had chosen their own omega-3 supplements.

Zinzino's structured Balance Concept program included supplementing with BalanceOil; a full-spectrum fish oil and extra-virgin olive oil formulation, getting weight-based dosage recommendations, and optional nutritional lifestyle guidance based on the test results.

The study cannot separate the effect of BalanceOil from the rest of the Balance Concept. But it does show that the group using BalanceOil as part of Zinzino's Balance Concept had a distinctly different measured fatty-acid profile, and the paper identifies the formulation as one possible and potentially important part of the explanation.

Three different supplementation patterns – three different profiles

The researchers analyzed dried blood spot samples collected between 2012 and 2023. Based on questionnaire responses, samples were divided into three groups:

- No long-term use of omega-3 supplements

- Taking non-specified omega-3 supplements for at least 120 days

- Staying on Zinzino's Balance concept for at least 120 days

All samples were analyzed using the same whole-blood fatty-acid method. After adjusting for differences in age, sex, body mass index, and geographic region, the differences were substantial:

- Balance concept group showed 70% higher levels of omega-3 than non-users

- Balance concept group showed 69% lower omega-6:3 balance than non-users

Among the individual fatty acids measured, EPA differed the most between the groups, while the omega-6:3 ratio (AA/EPA) also showed particularly large differences. The self-supplemented group generally fell between the other two groups, but showed a wide spread of results within the group. The Balance Concept group showed a more concentrated range of omega-6:3 values and less variation between regions.

The omega-3 number doesn't tell the whole story

One of the most interesting findings emerged when researchers compared samples with similar Omega-3 index WB, their omega-6:3 ratio could still be very different.

For example, at an omega-3 level of around 4%, the group taking non-specified omega-3 had about 17% lower omega-6:3 ratio than non-users, while the Balance concept group had about 47% lower ratio.

This means that the Omega-3 index WB (EPA+DHA levels) and omega-6:3 ratios (AA/EPA values) provide different but complementary information about a person's fatty-acid profile. Looking only at their EPA and DHA levels would therefore have missed some of the differences between the groups.

"The findings suggest that real-world omega-3 supplementation should not be understood simply as supplement use versus non-use. Considering both measures provide a more differentiated description of fatty-acid biomarker patterns than measuring EPA+DHA alone."

- Emmalee Gisslevik, PhD, first author of the study and Senior Research and Development Specialist at Zinzino.

A lower omega-6:3 ratio should not be interpreted to mean that lower levels of arachidonic acid, or AA, are inherently desirable. AA is an important fatty acid in its own right. The value of the ratio lies in interpreting it alongside the individual fatty acids that contribute to it.

What the findings mean for test-based nutrition

The results of the study illustrate the importance of looking at the Omega-3 index WB and the omega-6:3 ratio together to get a more complete understanding of one's personal fatty acid profile, where one stands and why.

"This study reinforces exactly why we say: test, don't guess," says Dag Bergheim Pettersen, CEO at Zinzino.

"Supplementing your diet is a step toward healthier living, but you can't simply assume it will have the intended effect. Everybody's different, and you need measurable data to see how your body responds. These large-scale findings show the real value of test-based nutrition: understanding what our nutritional status says about who we are and how we live."

The Balance Concept provides a defined framework combining BalanceOil supplementation, weight-based dosage recommendations, and optional nutrition and lifestyle guidance. The study cannot determine which individual part of that framework contributed to the observed biomarker pattern. What it does show is how different real-world supplementation contexts were reflected at the biomarker level. Self-directed omega-3 supplementation was associated with an intermediate but highly variable profile, while samples from the structured Balance Concept group showed higher Omega-3 index WB, lower omega-6:3 ratios and a more concentrated distribution of omega-6:3 results.

That distinction reinforces the rationale behind a test-based approach: measure first, use the results to inform what comes next, and measure again – rather than assuming that supplement use alone tells someone what they need to know.

Why the size of the study matters

With more than 762,000 samples, researchers could look beyond group averages and examine how widely results varied across geographic regions. The analyses accounted for age, sex and body mass index, and additional analyses were conducted to test the robustness of the findings without materially changing the main results.

The dataset also showed less regional variation in omega-6:3 ratios within the Balance Concept group than in the other two groups. Geographic differences nevertheless remained, and other unmeasured factors may have contributed. This reinforces that the findings describe real-world associations rather than effects demonstrated in a controlled intervention.

The scale of the study also made it possible to identify patterns that could be missed by looking only at average omega-3 levels or simply asking whether someone takes a supplement.

Important context

The study was observational and cross-sectional, comparing existing groups based on self-reported supplement use rather than researcher-assigned interventions. Because the database was anonymous, samples could not be linked to verified unique individuals or used to assess changes within the same person over time.

The findings therefore cannot determine which specific aspects of the Balance Concept may have contributed to the observed patterns, nor can they establish clinical health outcomes or compare the performance of individual omega-3 products.

The purpose of the study was to characterize differences in whole-blood fatty acid profiles across real-world supplementation contexts.

About the study

Real-world omega-3 supplementation patterns and whole-blood fatty-acid biomarkers: a cross-sectional analysis of 762,150 dried blood spot samples is a retrospective cross-sectional analysis of whole-blood samples collected from August 2012 to September 2023.

The study builds on an earlier analysis of the same global BalanceTest database, published in 2025, examining geographic and demographic variation in whole-blood fatty acid status.

Understanding the markers

EPA: Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) is a long-chain omega-3 fatty acid found mainly in oily fish, seafood and marine omega-3 supplements. In this study, EPA was the individual fatty acid that differed most between the supplementation groups.

DHA: Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is another important long-chain omega-3 fatty acid found mainly in oily fish and marine oils.

Kinetico volunteer day supports a San Antonio retired police officer, with additional community projects planned across the country

NEWBURY TOWNSHIP, Ohio, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Kinetico® Incorporated, a global leader in innovative water treatment solutions, announced a partnership with Rebuilding Together, a national nonprofit dedicated to strengthening communities through critical home repairs. The partnership launched with a day of volunteer service supporting a San Antonio resident, a retired police officer, and his wife, marking the first of several planned projects together.

The collaboration is part of the company's new corporate social responsibility initiative, "Kinetico Connections Community Impact." Through the partnership, Kinetico will combine volunteer service and water treatment solutions to support residents and families across the country.

During the San Antonio volunteer day, Kinetico employees helped with home improvements, landscaping, and painting. Also, as part of the project, and with thanks to Kinetico of San Antonio, the home's water needs were addressed with upgrades to the water infrastructure and treatment systems, including installation of a Kinetico softener and whole-home filtration system, as well as a Kinetico reverse osmosis unit for daily drinking water. These improvements give the homeowner reliable access to cleaner, higher-quality water throughout the home. To provide additional financial support, Kinetico surprised the couple with a donation to cover a full year of water bills.

"Corporate social responsibility isn't separate from our business. It is our mission expressed in the communities we serve," said Ana Garcia, chief executive officer, Kinetico. "Our partnership with Rebuilding Together brings that mission to life by helping provide quality water to those in need. Access to safe water is essential to good health, a safe home and economic well-being, and ultimately, a better quality of life."

"For the cost of building one new affordable home, we can repair 18, preventing families from losing their forever homes because they can't afford critical repairs to make them safe and healthy," said Maureen Carlson, president and chief executive officer, Rebuilding Together. "Thanks to the support of partners like Kinetico, we can safeguard existing affordable homes and strengthen communities across the country."

The San Antonio event marks the beginning of Kinetico's work with Rebuilding Together, with additional volunteer projects planned to support more residents and families.

FANUC Opens Largest Automation Training Center in the U.S.

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- FANUC America, the global leader in industrial automation, today announced the opening of the new FANUC Training Academy, the largest corporate robotics and industrial automation training center in the United States and a significant expansion from the company's previous workforce education facility.

Located in Auburn Hills, Mich., on FANUC America's West Campus, the three-story facility represents an investment of more than $18 million and covers 132,000 square feet, including 56,300 square feet dedicated to training space for technicians, engineers, educators, students and manufacturing professionals.

"Manufacturers across North America are investing in robotics, automation and AI-enabled technologies, but the availability of skilled workers remains one of the industry's greatest challenges," said Mike Cicco, President and CEO of FANUC America. "The new FANUC Training Academy is designed to help close that gap by providing hands-on training. As manufacturing continues to evolve, the opportunities are changing as well. This investment helps prepare the workforce for higher-skilled, technology-driven careers and strengthens domestic manufacturing."

The $18 million Training Academy investment complements the $90 million Michigan manufacturing expansion FANUC announced in March, reinforcing the company's focus on production capacity and workforce development.

"With its $108 million investment to expand operations in Michigan, FANUC is helping strengthen American manufacturing and creating new opportunities for American workers," said U.S. Secretary of Labor Keith Sonderling. "During my tour of the Auburn Hills facility, I saw firsthand the critical role the FANUC Training Academy plays in equipping American workers with the skills they need to succeed in high-skilled, high-paying jobs in this rapidly evolving industry."

The new Training Academy in Auburn Hills replaces the previous training facility located within FANUC America's headquarters in Rochester Hills, increasing the number of classrooms from 13 to 28. FANUC's training network, which includes the Training Academy and eight other regional facilities, now has the capacity to train approximately 17,500 participants annually and features more than 160 robots and over 40 CNC simulators.

FANUC's workforce development efforts extend well beyond customer training. Through its Certified Education Training (CERT) program, FANUC supports more than 1,700 schools across North America, engaging approximately 60,000 students annually in robotics, CNC and automation education.

"Advanced automation requires advanced skills," said Rich Meyer, general manager of FANUC America's Customer Service Group. "The new FANUC Training Academy gives students, educators and manufacturing professionals unprecedented access to the technologies shaping today's factories. By expanding hands-on learning opportunities, we're helping manufacturers develop the workforce they need while creating pathways to rewarding careers in modern manufacturing."

The project was completed through a Michigan-first construction approach, led by Frank Rewold & Sons and supported by Michigan-based subcontractors. In addition to expanded training capacity, the facility includes a full-service cafeteria, 200 additional parking spaces and future space for a customer support call center scheduled for completion in 2027.

"The Training Academy reinforces metro Detroit's position as a global center for manufacturing innovation, robotics and automation," Cicco said. "The region's concentration of manufacturers, educational institutions and skilled talent makes it an ideal location for a training operation serving customers and students from across North America."

The Training Academy supports a broad range of workforce development initiatives, including training for manufacturers and system integrators, educator certification programs, community college partnerships, high school mechatronics programs and FANUC's extensive educational network. As manufacturers increasingly adopt AI-enabled robotics, expand domestic production and modernize operations, the Training Academy helps develop the skilled workforce needed to support those trends by providing students, educators and industry professionals with hands-on experience using the same industrial automation technologies found in today's manufacturing environments.

FANUC's Ongoing Investment in U.S. Manufacturing and Workforce Development

The opening of the FANUC Training Academy is part of FANUC America's broader commitment to strengthening domestic manufacturing, workforce development and industrial competitiveness in the United States. Recent initiatives include:

- Opening the $110 million FANUC West Campus in Auburn Hills in 2024, expanding FANUC America's footprint to more than 2 million square feet and creating additional capacity to support growing demand for automation solutions across North America.

- Announcing a $90 million investment in a new Michigan manufacturing facility in 2026 that will provide production-ready capacity for potential expansion of U.S.-based robot manufacturing, engineering and advanced manufacturing operations while supporting future growth in automation technologies.

- Advancing workforce development programs across North America through FANUC's CERT program, partnerships with high schools, community colleges and universities, and educator certification initiatives that help prepare students for careers in advanced manufacturing and industrial automation.

- Expanding engagement with SkillsUSA through national robotics competitions, hands-on automation training, industry certifications, equipment donations and programs that expose students to robotics, automation and advanced manufacturing technologies.

- Providing access to careers in advanced manufacturing and industrial automation through the $1 million FANUC Automation Endowed Scholarship Fund, established in 2024 in partnership with the SME Education Foundation, while helping develop the next generation of manufacturing talent through FANUC educational programs that place industrial robots and automation technology in schools and training centers.
