As one of the region's premier film events, the festival showcases an exceptional lineup of thought-provoking, innovative and diverse films from around the world. Denver Arts Week celebrates the Mile High City's arts and culture scene with hundreds of events around the city. Denver Arts Week will kick off Friday, Nov. 6 with expanded First Friday Art Walks across the city's creative neighborhoods, followed by FREE Night at the Museums on Saturday, Nov. 7, when many of Denver's top cultural institutions will be open for free. The weeklong celebration includes daily events through Nov. 15, 2026.

Throughout the season, Denver makes an ideal headquarters for favorite fall activities, with urban and rural markets and gardens that have perfected rustic fall vibes. Check out Chatfield Farms, a working farm run by Denver Botanic Gardens with an intricate corn maze featuring an original design against a backdrop of colorful cottonwood trees and foothills; Broomfield's Rock Creek Farm puts you further west and therefore closer to the foothills and mountains, with sweeping views to admire; The heavenly scent of cider donuts, the rumble of tractor-pulled wagon rides and acres of golden corn set the scene at Anderson Farms, an annual fall destination for many Mile High City families and so much more.

More Beer Festivals

On Saturday, Sept. 12, the Highlands neighborhood will celebrate the third edition of its Highlands Oktoberfest, stretching across four blocks of 32nd Avenue, between Irving Street and Perry Street. Beer tastings will feature local breweries including New Terrain Brewing Co., Cerebral Brewing, 4 Noses Brewing Co., Best Day Brewing, Cervecería Paramount, and many more.

This year marks the 56th edition of the Denver Oktoberfest, taking place over two weekends, Sept. 18–20 and Sept. 25–27, on Larimer Street, between 20th and 22nd streets in the Ballpark district. In addition to enjoying beer and German specialties, attendees can take part in activities such as Stein Hoisting, Keg Bowling, the Costume Contest, the Long Dog Derby and the traditional sausage-eating contest. What began as a neighborhood gathering in 1969 has evolved into a festival that brings together more than 350,000 attendees each year to celebrate beer.

Organized by the Bavarian Guild in collaboration with the National Western Center, The Denver Wiesn will take place Oct. 16–18 and Oct. 22–25. The celebration will recreate the spirit of an authentic German festival for the whole family, while also offering VIP experiences. Traditional dirndls and lederhosen will complete the festive atmosphere, creating an experience that transports visitors from the Rocky Mountains straight to Bavaria.

Beyond beer festivals and events, Denver is home to countless breweries with unique personalities. The Denver Beer Trail highlights Denver favorites in neighborhoods across the city. Many offer tours and tasting. Visitors can also take a guided neighborhood tour to learn from local beer experts.

Drinking and Dining in Denver

With growing international recognition, Denver's restaurant and bar scene continues to expand with new menus and concepts debuting every month.

Two Denver bars were recently nominated as "Best New Bars in U.S." selected by the Tales of the Cocktail Foundation's Spirited Awards 2026 Top Ten Regional Honorees. Rougarou in Five Points and the Peach Crease Club in RiNo.

Rougarou opened summer 2025 in Denver's Five Points Neighborhood. From the creative forces behind the award-winning bar, Yacht Club, Mclain Hedges and Mary Allison Wright, alongside her brother JohnDavid Wright as executive chef, Rougarou is a living, breathing tribute to the rich regions that molded them – a wine & cocktail focused restaurant highlighting the culinary traditions of the American South.

Founded by Denver bartenders and husband-and-wife duo Alex Jump and Stuart Jensen, the bar combines elegant cocktails with inclusive hospitality. Its menu offers carefully crafted drinks (including non-alcoholic options), beers on tap and expressive wines.

Award-Winning Digital Magazine Curates "Quietcations" Spanning Six Continents, from a Swedish Archipelago to a Remote Alaskan Bear Camp

ARVADA, Colo., Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Go World Travel Magazine, a leading digital travel publication with award-winning journalists covering more than 90 countries, today released its latest feature, "Quietcations: 12 Places to Step into Nature and Recharge." The curated guide spotlights destinations made for slowing down, where travelers can trade notifications and packed itineraries for forest trails, quiet coastlines, and long, unhurried evenings.

"Real rest means room to slow down and hear your own thoughts again," says Janna Graber, Managing Editor of Go World Travel Magazine. "I found that space this spring in Sweden's East Coast Archipelago, and it sent me looking for more places built for the same slow exhale."

The feature opens with Graber's own first-person account of Sweden's East Coast Archipelago — home to more than 267,000 islands — and a nod to her experience in Finding Stillness in Sweden's East Coast Archipelago, before spanning the globe to highlight 11 additional quiet destinations. Highlights include:

- Nordic Archipelago Escape: Sweden's East Coast Archipelago offers small island hotels, kayaking between granite skerries and centuries-old fishing hamlets, just hours from Stockholm

- Caribbean Solitude: Saba, a five-square-mile Dutch Caribbean island with just five hotels and twenty hiking trails leading up the highest point in the Kingdom of the Netherlands

- Dark Sky Escape: Møn, Denmark, home to the newly UNESCO-listed chalk cliffs of Møns Klint and the first Dark Sky Park and Community designation in the world

- Pacific Northwest Nature Immersion: Whidbey and Camano Islands, Washington, featuring the 72-acre Earth Sanctuary and Meerkerk Gardens' 43 acres of woodland trails

- Off-Grid Wildlife Viewing: Natural Habitat Adventures' Alaska Bear Camp, reachable only by plane, where brown bears fish for salmon within view of private cabins

The guide also features Finland's Nuuksio National Park and its lakeside sauna culture, Zambia's Lolelunga Private Reserve, Maine's Monhegan Island, the remote Australian external territory of Norfolk Island, Tasmania's protected wilderness, Colorado's Arapaho Valley Ranch — where guests wake to moose grazing outside their glamping tents — and the healing retreat at Hollyhock on British Columbia's Cortes Island.

"Every one of these places asks the same thing of a traveler: put the phone away and let the landscape set the pace," Graber adds. "Whether it's a kayak trip in Sweden or a floating sauna in Tasmania, the appeal is the same — room to breathe, and nowhere else you need to be."

The complete guide, "Quietcations: 12 Places to Step into Nature and Recharge," is now available on GoWorldTravel.com offering readers firsthand narratives, practical travel details and links to further reading on select destinations.

In HelloNation, Roofing Expert Brian Dyck Details What Drives California Roof Replacement Costs
Image File
Original HTML

California Roof Replacement Costs Vary Significantly Based on Size, Materials, Labor, and Site Conditions That National Averages Fail to Capture.

MERCED, Calif., Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What makes the final cost of a California roof replacement so difficult to predict from a single national average? A HelloNation article addresses that question, walking through the specific variables that cause roofing costs to shift by thousands of dollars from one project to the next, even for homes of comparable size.

The HelloNation article identifies roof size as the starting point for any estimate. Roofing is typically priced by the square, with one roofing square equal to 100 square feet of coverage. Larger homes require more material, more labor hours, and more time to complete. In a state as geographically and architecturally diverse as California, size alone accounts for a wide spread in pricing from one project to the next.

Material selection is described in the article as one of the most consequential decisions in the pricing equation. Asphalt shingles remain the most widely used option because of their affordability and broad performance range. California's climate diversity adds complexity to this choice, with coastal areas calling for greater moisture resistance and inland regions often benefiting from products with higher thermal reflectance.

Roofing Experts note that tile roofing, common throughout Southern California, carries a notably higher material and labor cost than asphalt shingles, though it tends to last considerably longer. Metal roofing has expanded in use as well, particularly in commercial and fire-risk areas, and comes with its own cost profile depending on panel type and gauge.

Labor costs in California are generally higher than in most other states, reflecting the broader construction market and regional cost of living. The article notes that these rates also vary within the state itself. Projects in major metro areas such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego typically carry higher labor rates than work performed in more rural parts of California. That regional variation can add thousands of dollars to the cost of otherwise comparable California roof replacement projects.

Existing roof conditions introduce another layer of uncertainty. The article explains that when old materials are removed, contractors sometimes discover damaged decking, deteriorated insulation, or moisture infiltration that was not visible before the tear-off. Those findings require repair before a new roof can be installed, and they are among the most common reasons a final invoice differs from the original estimate.

Permit requirements factor into the budget as well. Most California jurisdictions require permits for roof replacements, particularly when structural repairs or system upgrades are involved. Permit fees vary by county and city, and they are typically the property owner's responsibility. The article also notes that roof geometry affects cost, with steep pitches and complex architectural features adding to labor hours and total project scope.

The article recommends getting multiple written estimates from licensed and insured contractors before committing to any project. A well-structured proposal should itemize materials, labor, disposal fees, permits, and any allowance for unforeseen conditions, providing a more accurate basis for decision-making than comparing totals alone. Roofing Experts consistently note that national average figures rarely reflect California's specific labor market, regulatory environment, or material standards, making a project-specific estimate essential.

Egan-Jones Examines State-Level Risk to Private Commercial Assets
Image File
Original HTML

NEW YORK, Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Egan-Jones released an analysis examining how the falling cost of long-range attacks (e.g., Ukraine's attacks on Russia-based Wildberries) has left privately owned commercial assets exposed to state-level conflict risk, and how those losses travel to the merchants, insurers and lenders behind the operator that is struck.

Deterrence between nuclear states remains intact, the commentary holds, but the cost of inflicting serious damage has collapsed. Drones costing roughly $2,000 each damaged about a third of Russia's strategic cruise missile carriers in Ukraine's Operation Spiderweb of June 2025. Range is no longer a constraint: a July 2026 strike on the Omsk refinery was carried out almost 2,500 kilometers from Ukrainian-held territory.

Commercial infrastructure has proved no less reachable. Between July 18 and August 4, 2026, drones struck at least sixteen facilities of Wildberries, the retailer behind about 45 percent of Russian online commerce, across fourteen regions. The published floor area comes to 2.0 million square meters in eighteen days, about 4 percent of the North American space Amazon reported in its latest annual filing.

Where the loss settled is the central point for credit investors. Eleven days before the first strike, the platform revised its terms to disclaim liability for goods destroyed in force majeure events, leaving sellers uncompensated and moving the cost onto thousands of small merchants. Insurance took a share and declined the balance. A physical loss at a dispersed borrower, Egan-Jones observes, resolves into a capital question at a lender whose own assets were never subject to attack.

Every defense carries a ceiling. Passive hardening isn't viable at scale, and defenders pay 20x – 600x the attacker's unit cost. Egan-Jones asks whether holders of asset-heavy private positions have examined state-level exposure, and sets out what to document: site concentration, replacement lead times, war and hostile-act exclusions, contractual loss allocation, and counterparty pass-through.

The leading indicator, the firm suggests, is whether a product line or contract lets a business be characterized as supporting a state's military effort. Wildberries became a target after its own catalog listed drone components. Egan-Jones concludes that deterrence has not failed among states, but that losses can now be inherited by parties never struck directly.
