KanEquip JCB Rolls into Kansas City

Founder Jim Meinhardt established KanEquip, Inc. in 1999. In 2019, his sons, Bryndon and Grant Meinhardt, acquired majority ownership and have continued to grow the business, expanding its presence and representing a full complement of equipment brands serving agricultural and construction customers.

From Wheel Loaders to a Full Line of JCB Equipment

KanEquip's relationship with JCB began in 2019 with a focus on the manufacturer's award-winning wheel loaders and telehandlers. Since then, JCB has grown into one of KanEquip's major equipment brands, second only to its CNH product lines, Case IH and New Holland.

In 2025, KanEquip was recognized by JCB as one of the three largest Fastrac dealers in the world.

"We were able to pick up the line in 2019. We really thought it would be just some wheel loaders and some telehandlers, and it's grown much beyond that," said Grant Meinhardt, Vice President/General Manager of KanEquip JCB.

Kansas City Opportunity Built Around People

The sale of CSTK (Central States Thermo King) to Trane, Inc. created an opportunity for KanEquip JCB to enter the Kansas City market while continuing to provide local support to JCB customers.

JCB products are currently offered at six KanEquip locations across Kansas. The Kansas City location represents the company's first dealership dedicated exclusively to the JCB brand.

For KanEquip, however, entering the Kansas City market was about more than adding another location. The company saw an opportunity to build on its long-standing relationship with former CSTK employees and bring their experience and knowledge of JCB equipment to the new operation.

The two companies worked alongside one another for years, and Meinhardt said retaining experienced employees was the key factor in KanEquip's decision to enter the market.

"They've had employees there since 2014. They know what they are doing. They had a good representation as far as the rental house market. If we can save those guys, we have something," Meinhardt said. "That's really what we were going after in the Kansas City market — the employees. We were able to save a number of the employees, and we're really blessed to have them because they are very good at their jobs."

Continuing a Commitment to Customer Support

The new KanEquip JCB location will provide customers throughout the Kansas City area with equipment sales, parts and service support.

Customers can expect the same level of service, support and professionalism that KanEquip has built its reputation on across its locations, backed by the resources of the larger KanEquip organization.

Building for the Future

The Kansas City expansion represents a significant next step for KanEquip, Inc. as the company continues to grow its relationship with JCB and expand its presence in Kansas.

The company also sees the expansion as an opportunity to create jobs, develop new customer relationships and become an active member of the Kansas City business community.

FirstService Residential communities raise more than $56,000 in honor of the 25th anniversary of September 11

DALLAS, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Two Texas communities professionally managed by FirstService Residential marked the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks by bringing residents, first responders and local partners together in remembrance, service and support for charitable causes.

Events at Pecan Square in Northlake and The Austonian in downtown Austin raised more than $56,000 for organizations supporting first responders, veterans and their families. While each community observed the anniversary in its own way, both events shared a common purpose: honoring those lost on September 11, recognizing the sacrifices of first responders and strengthening community connections.

"Twenty-five years later, September 11 continues to remind us of the courage of our first responders and the strength we find when communities come together," said Katie Ward, president of west region at FirstService Residential. "The residents, team members and partners who participated turned remembrance into meaningful support for people and families who have sacrificed so much. We are grateful to everyone who helped make these events possible."

Pecan Square climbs in honor of first responders

Pecan Square hosted the "25 Years of Remembrance, 9-11 Memorial Stair Climb" in its 22,000-square-foot arena. The day began with a moment of silence and commemorative ceremony before residents, first responders and guests participated in the stair climb throughout the day.

The participants climbed 5,850 floors on stair climbers, the equivalent of 53 ascents of the World Trade Center. The event raised more than $16,000 for Building Homes for Heroes, a national nonprofit that builds and modifies homes for injured veterans, first responders and their families.

Developed by Hillwood Communities, Pecan Square is a 1,200-acre master-planned community in Northlake with approximately 5,000 residents. The event brought together residents from Pecan Square, Harvest and neighboring communities alongside local police, fire and emergency services personnel. Support from Hillwood Communities, FirstService Residential, Life Fitness, Primoris Electrical, Premier Lighting and other community partners helped make the event possible.

"The impact of this event was measured in more than floors climbed or dollars raised," Katie said. "It was visible in every resident, first responder, volunteer and partner who showed up for one another. Seeing so many people come together to honor, remember and support others was a powerful reminder of what community is all about."

The Austonian climbs 110 flights for local heroes

At The Austonian, more than 250 residents and guests climbed 110 flights through the building's stairwell in tribute to the first responders who ascended the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001.

The event raised more than $40,000 for the 100 Club of Central Texas, which supports the families of first responders who are seriously injured or killed in the line of duty.

Among those completing all 110 flights were Jose Depaz and Valentina Baez, members of The Austonian's facilities team and FirstService Residential who also serve in the U.S. Army Reserve.

"In a high-rise community, neighbors can cross paths every day without truly connecting," said Susan Ward-Freeman, president of the high-rise division at FirstService Residential Texas. "What made this event so special was the way it brought people together around a shared purpose. Every step and every dollar raised represented gratitude and support for the first responders who serve our communities every day."

Located at 200 Congress Ave. in the heart of downtown Austin, The Austonian is a 56-story residential tower known for its luxury residences and expansive resident amenities.

Remembering through action

Both events demonstrated the power of residents, community leaders and local organizations coming together in support of a shared cause.

Together, participants climbed thousands of floors, raised more than $56,000 and paid tribute to the lives lost on September 11. Most importantly, they transformed remembrance into action, creating meaningful support for first responders, veterans and the families who continue to sacrifice in service to others.

Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Performs First Minima Stent Procedure for Infants with Congenital Heart Conditions
Image File

First FDA-approved stent designed specifically for the smallest patients with certain congenital heart and vascular conditions.

LONG BEACH, Calif., Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Children's Heart Institute at Miller Children's & Women's Hospital has successfully performed the Renata Minima Stent procedure in two patients, expanding treatment options for newborns and infants with narrowed blood vessels and certain congenital heart conditions who previously faced limited treatment alternatives. The minimally invasive procedure offers a new option for some of Miller Children's & Women's smallest patients. Unlike traditional stents, which may not be able to expand to adult size and may need to be replaced as a child grows, the Minima Stent can be placed in infancy and expanded over time to reach an adult-sized blood vessel, potentially preventing additional higher-risk surgeries.

The Minima Stent is the first FDA-approved stent system designed specifically to treat pulmonary artery stenosis or coarctation of the aorta in neonates, infants and children weighing at least 1.5 kg (3.3 pounds). Developed specifically for the smallest patients, it addresses a longstanding gap in pediatric heart and vascular care, as most stents currently available were originally adapted from adult use.

"This technology represents a meaningful advancement in how we care for our smallest and most vulnerable patients," said Saar Danon, M.D., medical director, Pediatric Cardiology & Congenital Cardiac Catheterization, Children's Heart Institute, Miller Children's & Women's Hospital. "Being able to place a stent that can grow with a child allows us to treat serious vascular conditions earlier while minimizing future surgeries."

The stent is implanted using a minimally invasive, catheter-based approach, typically through a vein or artery in the leg. This technique can help physicians avoid open-heart surgery in infants with vascular stenosis, a condition that restricts blood flow and places significant strain on the heart. By restoring normal blood flow, the procedure can help improve circulation and support healthy growth and development.

The procedure is performed in Miller Children's & Women's dedicated cardiac catheterization laboratory, which is equipped with advanced bi-plane imaging technology. This imaging allows physicians to view blood flow from two angles simultaneously, creating a detailed roadmap to guide precise treatment for each patient's unique anatomy.

The Children's Heart Institute provides prenatal, infant, pediatric and adult heart care for patients with congenital or acquired heart disease. Its multidisciplinary team includes pediatric cardiologists, congenital cardiac surgeons, cardiac intensivists, anesthesiologists, nurses and therapists who coordinate care from diagnosis through recovery and long-term follow-up. Children who need intensive monitoring after a procedure receive specialized care in Miller Children's & Women's dedicated Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit.

"For families facing an unexpected congenital heart diagnosis, having access to advanced treatment options close to home can make an overwhelming moment more manageable," said Dr. Cynthia Herrington, M.D., cardiothoracic surgeon, Children's Heart Institute, Miller Children's & Women's Hospital. "Our goal is to support both patients and families at every step, from the initial diagnosis through recovery and beyond."

Sempra Infrastructure Announces Long-Term LNG Supply Agreement with Petrobras
Image File
Original HTML

HOUSTON, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Sempra Infrastructure, a subsidiary of Sempra (NYSE: SRE), today announced a 20-year sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with Petrobras, under which Sempra Infrastructure will supply approximately 0.8 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG). LNG will be sourced from Sempra Infrastructure's contracted liquefaction capacity at the Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 project, currently under construction in Jefferson County, Texas.

"We are pleased to welcome Petrobras as the first South American company in our LNG customer portfolio, marking an important milestone for Sempra Infrastructure's growing LNG business," said Justin Bird, CEO of Sempra Infrastructure. "This long-term agreement establishes a strategic relationship with one of the world's leading energy companies and underscores the important role Sempra Infrastructure plays in providing reliable and secure U.S. natural gas to a growing list of customers around the world."

Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 is strategically positioned to help meet global energy demand and reached a positive final investment decision in September 2025. The project will include two liquefaction trains capable of producing approximately 13 Mtpa of LNG, which will increase the total liquefaction capacity of the Port Arthur LNG facility from approximately 13 Mtpa for Phase 1 to up to approximately 26 Mtpa. Port Arthur LNG Phase 1, which is also currently under construction, is expected to achieve commercial operations at or near the end of 2027 and in 2028 for trains 1 and 2, respectively, and Port Arthur LNG Phase 2 is expected to achieve commercial operations in 2030 and 2031 for trains 3 and 4, respectively. Future phases are also in the early development stage.

Beyond its expanded liquefaction capacity, Port Arthur LNG will benefit from strategic access to abundant U.S. natural gas resource basins, robust midstream connectivity and scalable infrastructure. As a cornerstone of Sempra Infrastructure's dual-coast strategy, the Port Arthur LNG facility will play a critical role in expanding access to secure, reliable U.S. natural gas supplies for customers across both Atlantic and Pacific Basin markets.

PPL Electric Proposes New Customer Protection Transmission Rider, Building on its Existing Customer Protection Framework
Image File
Original HTML

ALLENTOWN, Pa., Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- PPL Electric Utilities today filed a proposal with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission that would make transmission costs more transparent for customers and create a new way to directly assign certain transmission-related costs associated with large energy users to those customers.

The proposal would establish a Customer Protection Transmission Rider (CPTR) and replace the current Transmission Service Charge (TSC). It builds on the company's existing Customer Protection Framework, which already requires large-load customers served under the LP-6 rate class to make significant financial and usage commitments before connecting to the system.

Pennsylvania is experiencing increasing interest from data centers and other large energy users that can require substantial electric infrastructure investments. PPL Electric's Customer Protection Framework is designed to help ensure growth occurs responsibly while supporting affordability, reliability and transparency for existing customers. The proposed CPTR would add another layer of protection by creating a mechanism to directly allocate certain transmission network upgrade costs associated with serving large-load customers to those customers while giving all customers a clearer view of transmission costs on their bills.

"We want to ensure that all of our customers benefit from economic growth and that includes how investments in the electric grid are supported. As Pennsylvania grows, our responsibility is to make sure existing customers are protected," said Christine Martin, president of PPL Electric Utilities. "This proposal would make transmission costs easier to see on customer bills and provide a way to assign certain transmission costs associated with serving large energy users directly to those customers. It's a practical step that supports responsible growth while helping protect residential and small business customers."

Customer benefits of the proposal

Today, transmission costs are embedded within supply charges on the bill and recovered through existing cost-recovery mechanisms by customers' energy suppliers or by PPL Electric for default service customers. While these costs are recovered through established regulatory frameworks, this approach makes it difficult for customers to see these costs on their bills and limits the ability for the company to directly assign certain transmission network costs associated with large-load growth to a specific customer class.

The proposed CPTR would address both challenges by making transmission costs visible to customers through a dedicated line item and creating a mechanism for the company to directly allocate certain transmission network upgrade costs associated with LP-6 large-load customers to that customer class. This added protection helps ensure customers driving the need for new transmission investments contribute directly to those shared costs while increasing transparency and accountability for all customers.

The proposal would not add a new charge. It would replace the existing Transmission Service Charge with a more transparent method of recovering transmission costs while positioning all customers to benefit from the expected reduction in transmission costs as large-load customers begin contributing a larger share of transmission network costs.

If approved, the CPTR is expected to take effect in the first quarter of 2028, further expanding PPL Electric's Customer Protection Framework.

Do employers value University of Phoenix graduates? The Harris Poll survey finds 98% report satisfaction

97% of managers supervising University of Phoenix graduates say they are likely to hire someone with a University of Phoenix degree in the future

PHOENIX, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- New research conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of University of Phoenix finds high levels of satisfaction and positive perceptions among managers who directly supervise University of Phoenix graduates. Ninety-eight percent of managers supervising at least one University of Phoenix graduate report being satisfied overall with the employee at their organization, while 97% say they are likely to hire someone with a University of Phoenix degree in the future.

The study offers a view of employer perceptions based on direct supervisory experience rather than general impressions of an institution. The Harris Poll conducted an online survey from June 4–25, 2026 among 204 U.S. managers who supervise at least one University of Phoenix graduate and 204 managers who supervise graduates from other colleges and universities.

What do employers think of University of Phoenix graduates?

As employers place increasing emphasis on demonstrable skills and workplace contribution, the experience of managers who directly supervise college graduates provides one perspective on how education translates to the workplace.

The survey finds consistently positive assessments from managers supervising University of Phoenix graduates:

- 98% report being satisfied overall with the University of Phoenix graduate at their organization

- 98% report a positive perception of University of Phoenix graduates at their organization

- 94% rate University of Phoenix graduates as excellent or above-average performers

- 97% say they are likely to hire someone with a University of Phoenix degree in the future

"Employers experience higher education in a very practical way — through the people they hire, manage and rely on every day," said John Woods, Ph.D., provost and chief academic officer of University of Phoenix. "That makes the perspective of managers who directly supervise graduates especially meaningful. Higher education should help learners build knowledge and skills they can apply in the workplace, and be ready to adapt and grow as the needs of employers and industries change."

How managers' experiences compare

The study also surveyed managers supervising graduates of colleges and universities other than University of Phoenix, providing a benchmark for several measures of employer experience.

Among managers supervising University of Phoenix graduates, 98% report a positive perception of those graduates, compared with 88% of managers supervising graduates from benchmark colleges and universities. Overall employee satisfaction was 98% among managers supervising University of Phoenix graduates, compared with 90% among the comparison group. And 94% of managers supervising University of Phoenix graduates rate them excellent or above-average performers, compared with 79% of managers supervising graduates from benchmark colleges and universities.

These findings reflect the reported experiences of two surveyed groups of managers and should not be interpreted as a controlled comparison of individual graduates or institutions.

Would employers hire someone with a University of Phoenix degree?

The survey also asked managers who currently supervise University of Phoenix graduates about future hiring.

With 97% of managers saying they are likely to hire someone with a University of Phoenix degree in the future, managers are reporting satisfaction with graduates they currently supervise, and also indicating willingness to consider the University credential in future hiring.

Career-relevant education for working adults

University of Phoenix focuses on career-relevant education designed around the realities of working adults. Associate, bachelor's and master's degree programs incorporate career-relevant skills through skills-mapped curricula, and University faculty bring professional experience and practical perspectives into the classroom. These institutional practices provide context for the University's focus on connecting learning with the workplace; the employer survey separately measures what managers report observing among graduates they supervise.

The employer survey findings build on a broader body of University research and thought leadership examining the changing relationship between higher education, skills and employer needs. Additional findings on job readiness, applied workplace skills, trusted contribution and workforce alignment will be shared in forthcoming announcements.

What employers say about University of Phoenix graduates

Additional findings and the complete survey methodology are available at https://www.phoenix.edu/about/employer-survey.html.

About the research

The research was conducted online in the United States from June 4–25, 2026, by The Harris Poll on behalf of University of Phoenix among 204 U.S. adults age 21 or older who are employed as a manager or higher and have at least one direct report who is a graduate of University of Phoenix ("managers who currently supervise University of Phoenix graduates") and 204 U.S. adults age 21 or older who are employed as a manager or higher and have at least one direct report with college/university degrees from institutions other than University of Phoenix ("managers supervising graduates from benchmark colleges and universities"). Of the 1796 individuals contacted, 96% satisfied the screening requirements (n=1728) and 24% of the qualified sample completed the survey.

Data are weighted where necessary by employee and employer type — employers of University of Phoenix graduates versus employers of graduates of other colleges and universities — to bring them in line with their actual proportions in the population. "Actual proportions" refer to the real-world distribution of U.S. employers by company size, among employers with two or more employees, based on Dun & Bradstreet data. All qualified survey respondents were weighted to match the national distribution of employer-size segments, and those same weights were applied to the final qualified sample, adjusting the two quota groups to reflect their expected real-world incidence.

The sampling precision of Harris online polls is measured using a Bayesian credible interval. For this study, the sample data is accurate to within ±8.6 percentage points for managers who currently supervise University of Phoenix graduates and ±8.0 percentage points for managers supervising graduates from other colleges and universities, using a 95% confidence level. The credible interval will be wider among subsets of the surveyed populations of interest.

Assessment recognizes ZS's capabilities across real-world data and evidence platforms, technology solutions and consulting services

EVANSTON, Ill., Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- ZS, a global management consulting and technology firm, has been named a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Life Science R&D RWD/Real-World Evidence for Data Platforms, Technology Solutions, and Consulting Services 2026 Vendor Assessment (IDC # US54122226, [August] 2026).

The IDC MarketScape evaluates organizations based on their capabilities and strategies related to real-world evidence (RWE), data, platforms, technologies and consulting services. This recognition follows ZS's recent recognition as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Life Sciences R&D Strategic Consulting Services 2026 Vendor Assessment (May 2026, IDC #US53009826).

"Life sciences organizations are looking for more connected approaches to evidence and decision-making across the product life cycle," said Rohan Fernando, managing principal of ZS's life sciences R&D and medical practice. "As the industry seeks to generate greater value from real-world data, organizations need better ways to turn evidence into action. Through integrated evidence planning and connected evidence-generation capabilities, we help clients transform RWD into decision-grade insights that inform regulatory, medical and business decisions. We're honored that IDC MarketScape recognized ZS as a Leader in the Life Sciences R&D RWD/RWE for Data Platforms, Technology Solutions, and Consulting Services 2026 Vendor Assessment."

The IDC MarketScape notes several strengths of ZS, including the following:

- ZS continues to scale its integrated Medical & Evidence practice that delivers connected medical, RWE, and HEOR strategies to accelerate decision-making.

- [ZS] connects evidence generation to downstream dissemination, ensuring that the data that is generated supports publications, congress strategies, and field medical execution.

- ZS offers ZAIDYN Medical (its medical intelligence platform), which features OLI for Opinion Leader Intelligence, CGI for Care Gap Intelligence, SMI for Scientific Medical Intelligence, MCE for Medical Customer Engagement for medical science liaisons (MSLs), and POI for Patient Outcomes Impact analysis.

- ZS' AI-enabled Patient Radar platform identifies hard-to-find rare-disease patients and physicians. ZS reports that it helped accurately diagnose 26 new patients in 12 months for a rare disease organization.

- In Europe, ZS Data Nexus is a proprietary, regulatory-grade RWD access platform, the first RWE solution to achieve Europrivacy certification.

- ZS reports 90% NPS and 97% retention for its RWD/RWE work.

- Its most differentiated asset is the digital Integrated Evidence Planning (IEP) capability, delivered through ZS Evidence Pro. With over 250 IEPs delivered, ZS reports that IEP development time was reduced from 4-5 months per IEP to generating over 30 IEPs in 10 weeks, with a 75% acceptance rate for over 20 protocol recommendations.

As life sciences organizations face growing pressure to generate evidence that supports regulatory, medical and commercial decisions, the ability to connect strategy, data, technology and scientific expertise has become increasingly important.
