TORONTO, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Hemlo Mining Corp. (TSX: HMMC) (OTCQX: HMMCF) ("Hemlo Mining" or the "Company") reports that an underground electrical substation (the "Substation") servicing a portion of underground mining operations at the Hemlo Gold Mine ("Hemlo Mine" or the "Mine") experienced a temporary electrical outage on September 4, 2026. The affected Substation supplies power to a portion of the Alimak production area on the 9765 level of the Mine, where the Company was advancing ongoing production and ramp-up activities. There were no injuries associated with the outage and all personnel underground at the time were safely brought to surface. Mining and processing in all other areas of the Mine, including the processing plant, are unaffected and continue to operate normally.

In the days following the outage, the Company completed a comprehensive assessment of the affected infrastructure and potential operational impact. Technical and operating teams are actively advancing repair and expedited replacement plans for the Substation. A temporary electrical bypass system has been established, which has restored power to the affected area at reduced capacity. The bypass system allows certain mining activities to continue while development and exploration activities remain limited until full power is restored. As part of the Company's critical spare parts audit, a replacement Substation had previously been ordered, with delivery expected in December 2026 at an estimated cost of approximately US$250,000. In the interim, the Company is pursuing several additional measures, including expedited equipment procurement, backup power options, and the potential relocation of electrical infrastructure from other areas of the Mine, with the objective of accelerating the restoration of full power to the affected area.

The outage and resulting reduction in available power may result in the deferral of mining from certain planned stopes until full power is restored. The affected area remains accessible and production continues across the remainder of the Mine without interruption. To mitigate potential production impacts, the Company is evaluating alternative mine sequencing and accelerating development and mining activities in other areas of the operation.

Jason Kosec, President, CEO & Director of Hemlo Mining, commented: "Over the past week, our site teams have responded quickly and professionally to assess the impact of the outage, which is limited to a single area of the Mine. Our first priority was the safety of our workforce, and I am pleased to report that there were no injuries associated with the outage and that all safety protocols were followed. The work of our team has allowed us to establish a temporary electrical configuration that supports certain activities in the affected Alimak area while we continue to advance several solutions aimed at restoring full production capability. We are also evaluating opportunities to resequence work into other areas of the Mine to maintain planned production, development, and exploration activities. With more than 300 kilometres of existing mine development and multiple active mining areas, the Hemlo Mine has significant operational flexibility, allowing processing operations to continue without interruption while mitigation efforts advance."

Sponsored by Bulldog Kia, the Summit brings law enforcement, first responders and commercial truck drivers to campus to emphasize the repercussions of distracted, impaired and unsafe driving

ATLANTA, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lutzie 43 Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to ending distracted, impaired and unsafe driving, will present a Safe Driving Summit at Habersham Central High School on Tuesday, September 22. The Summit, sponsored by Bulldog Kia, seeks to curb roadway incidents by educating high school students about the dangers of distracted, impaired and unsafe driving, and providing them with tools to make better decisions behind the wheel and in the car. Since 2022, Lutzie 43 has presented 40+ Safe Driving Summits, reaching tens of thousands of students across the Southeast, and is proud to bring one to Habersham County students.

The Safe Driving Summit begins with a keynote address from Executive Director Mike Lutzenkirchen who shares the story of his son, former Auburn University football standout Philip Lutzenkirchen, who tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle crash caused by distracted, impaired and unsafe driving, and is followed by a series of breakout sessions led by first responders, trauma care and rehab specialists, law enforcement officials and trucking industry professionals.

"Educating and reinforcing safe driving behaviors is one of the fastest and most effective ways to improve road safety, and students new to driving are the perfect audience to adopt the 43 Key Seconds safe driving initiative," says Mike Lutzenkirchen. "Hearing Philip's story, then learning what happens during and after a crash from our law enforcement, trucking and healthcare partners, provides them an eye-opening experience."

During the Safe Driving Summit, students will learn what happens after a crash: at the scene from first responders representing the Georgia Department of Public Safety Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (Georgia CVE), Habersham County Sherrif's Office and Mt. Airy Police Department, in the trauma bay with specialists from Northeast Georgia Health System and Wellstar Trauma Network and during recovery with rehabilitation providers from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Students will also step inside an 80,000-pound tractor trailer to experience a truck driver's perspective. Presented by FedEx Freight, Walmart and Georgia CVE, this session gives them a firsthand look at blind spots, stopping distances and the challenges that professional drivers face.

The Lutzenkirchen family created the Lutzie 43 Foundation and its 43 Key Seconds safe driving initiative to carry on Philip's legacy. In memory of Philip's #43 football jersey at Auburn, the initiative asks drivers and passengers to take 43 Key Seconds to prepare before every drive by having a:

- Clear Head: Ensure you have a clear head — one that is not affected by alcohol, drugs, emotions or fatigue.

- Clear Hands: Ensure you have clear hands — send a text, adjust the radio and put all devices away so you can drive hands-free.

- Clear Eyes: Set your sights on the road ahead. Do not look to the side at a passenger or at your phone.

- Click It: Finally, click your seatbelt. It's the law and could save your life!

"The Safe Driving Summit will provide our students with inspiration and education: inspiration to conduct themselves appropriately as passengers and as drivers and education on how to do so," says Dr. Adam Bagwell, Principal of Habersham Central High School. "I am confident that our students will benefit from this event and will be safer on our roadways because of having attended the Safe Driving Summit."

The Safe Driving Summit will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, at Habersham Central High School, 2059 St. Hwy 197 S., Mount Airy, GA 30563.

ABOUT THE LUTZIE 43 FOUNDATION:

The Lutzie 43 Foundation's mission is to educate and reinforce safe driving behaviors. The Lutzie 43 Foundation was established in loving memory of former Auburn football player Philip Lutzenkirchen, shortly after he lost his life in a car accident in 2014. In his memory, the foundation's 43 Key Seconds safe driving initiative aims to create the first nationally recognized symbol for distracted, impaired and unsafe driving awareness and prevention. The foundation's motto for all is to "Live like Lutz, Love like Lutz and Learn from Lutz," reflecting its desire to help others live out the many positive character attributes that Philip displayed while learning from the circumstances that led to his death. HelloNation Article Featuring Roofing Expert Cody Slagle Explains the Post-Storm Roof Checklist Texoma Homeowners Should Follow
Image File
Original HTML

The article outlines how homeowners can inspect shingles, gutters, flashing, and attic spaces after severe North Texas storms.

DENISON, Texas, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What should a homeowner do after a strong Texoma storm to ensure the roof remains sound? A HelloNation article provides clear guidance on how to address this concern, offering a step-by-step look at a reliable roof-storm inspection checklist that helps residents stay aware of early warning signs. The full explanation appears in a HelloNation article.

The article states that many people begin with the shingles because these pieces form the first line of defense. Roofing Expert Cody Slagle explains that shingles are among the first to show signs after heavy wind or hail. When shingles appear cracked or lifted, it can suggest that the storm pushed them out of place. Homeowners in Lake Texoma communities often face sudden weather changes, and the article notes that scattered hail can mark several slopes. This part of the post-storm roof checklist helps homeowners spot early problems before they grow.

The article also shows why gutter checks are important for a full roof storm inspection checklist. Gutters can show dents where hail fell with enough force to affect roofing materials. The article notes that sagging or loose gutters may mean water overflowed during the storm. When water moves back toward the roof instead of away from it, the structure can weaken. Cody Slagle understands how common this issue is in North Texas because strong winds often blow debris into gutter channels. This is why gutters appear several times throughout the recommended steps.

Flashing receives close attention in the article because it sits at joints around chimneys, vent stacks, and roof valleys. The article explains that flashing can bend upward when the wind slips under the edges. This small shift can allow water to travel into the home before the homeowner even notices. Roofing Expert Cody Slagle states that flashing problems can move water far from the entry point, making leaks seem unrelated to the actual source. Including flashing in the post-storm roof checklist is essential for homeowners across North Texas who want to find issues early.

The article also highlights the importance of checking attic moisture. A short attic visit can reveal interior warning signs after severe weather. The article describes how damp insulation feels cool and clumpy, while wet rafters may have a faint musty smell. These clues help residents near Lake Texoma understand whether wind or hail may have opened a pathway for moisture. Cody Slagle agrees that attic moisture is a vital part of any roof storm inspection checklist because small leaks often widen once North Texas heat follows a heavy storm.

The article recommends repeating the inspection within a day or two. Shingles that were damp during the first check may show cracks once dry. Changing light conditions can also reveal dents or small gaps. Texoma storms often come in quick waves, and the article states that homeowners should remain alert even after the first walk around the home. This repeated look helps confirm that shingles, flashing, gutters, and attic moisture remain stable. Cody Slagle often tells North Texas residents that follow-up checks help prevent minor issues from becoming future repairs.

The article also notes that homeowners can learn from observing their neighborhood. If nearby homes show tarps or roofing crews, it may mean the area took a harder hit. Storm paths often change direction quickly around Lake Texoma, so one street may face more damage than another. Roofing Expert Cody Slagle explains that such patterns remind homeowners to follow the full post-storm roof checklist even if their own home seems fine at first glance. Repeating the keyword phrase helps emphasize how important this process is across the community.

A careful review of shingles, gutters, flashing, and attic moisture helps residents understand their roof condition before problems become severe. These steps give North Texas homeowners a practical guide during storm season. When residents follow the recommended roof storm inspection checklist, they can better identify risks early and know when to call a professional. The article ties each step back to common weather patterns near Lake Texoma and shows how simple habits can protect a home.

The Post-Storm Roof Checklist Every Texoma Homeowner Needs features insights from Cody Slagle, Roofing Expert of Denison, TX, in HelloNation.

Aurora Cannabis Refutes Curaleaf's Latest Attempt To Distract Shareholders From The Facts
Image File
Original HTML

NASDAQ | TSX: ACB

- Curaleaf's announcement is a desperate effort to shift attention away from the fundamental issue facing shareholders: its inadequate hostile bid undervalues Aurora.

- Curaleaf's attempt to fabricate issues ignores the reality of its own balance sheet: more than $1 billion of debt1, including $500 million carrying an 11.5% interest rate, exposing shareholders to significant financial and dilution risks.

- Curaleaf's criticism ignores four key facts: Aurora's ATM was publicly disclosed months before the hostile bid, was designed to support accretive acquisitions in Canada and the UK, has been inactive for several weeks and, prior to February 2026, had not been utilized by Aurora for three years.

- Curaleaf's latest allegations are a transparent attempt to divert attention from the unresolved regulatory deficiencies in their inadequate hostile bid. On September 2, Aurora raised its own complaint with the Alberta Securities Commission about the deficiencies in Curaleaf's hostile bid. Curaleaf has ignored these material concerns.

- Aurora's Special Committee and Board have unanimously recommended that shareholders REJECT Curaleaf's hostile bid by TAKING NO ACTION and NOT TENDERING their shares.

EDMONTON, AB, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Aurora Cannabis Inc. ("Aurora" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: ACB) (TSX: ACB), the Canadian-based leading global medical cannabis company, today responded to the application by Curaleaf Holdings, Inc. ("Curaleaf") (TSX: CURA) (OTCQX: CURLF) to halt Aurora's at-the-market ("ATM") program.

Aurora believes Curaleaf's filing is simply the latest attempt to distract shareholders from the fundamental issue before them: Curaleaf's hostile bid significantly undervalues Aurora and seeks to acquire Aurora's cash, unique EU-GMP assets, global growth platform and future upside at a discount.

Aurora's ATM program was publicly announced in February 2026, over six months before Curaleaf launched its hostile bid, as part of the Company's long-term international growth strategy. The program was established to provide Aurora with flexibility to pursue strategic and accretive opportunities that support long-term shareholder value, including increased cultivation capacity and M&A.

"Curaleaf is attempting to spin a story that simply does not align with the facts," said Miguel Martin, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aurora. "Our ATM program was established long before Curaleaf launched its inadequate hostile bid and was never designed as a response to it. It is a long-standing capital allocation tool that supports Aurora's growth strategy. Our most recent acquisitions in the UK that unlock our access to this critical market is a direct example of responsible use of funds generated from the ATM," Mr. Martin added.

"Curaleaf is trying to suggest that the existence of the ATM program somehow says something about the value of Aurora's business. It does not. The question for shareholders is whether Curaleaf's hostile offer fairly compensates them for the company they own today and the future value they are being asked to give up. We do not believe it does."

"The Board's responsibility is to maximize value for Aurora shareholders, not to make Aurora easier or cheaper for Curaleaf to acquire," concluded Mr. Martin. The ATM program will continue to be used only when the Board determines it is in the best interests of the Company to do so, having regard to all relevant factors.

Aurora shareholders are reminded that the company is debt free and maintains a strong cash position, providing the flexibility to continue investing in growth, innovation and strategic opportunities. Aurora believes shareholders should carefully consider whether exchanging ownership in a debt-free company with a proven international growth strategy for shares in a company carrying more than $1 billion of debt, concentrated voting control and additional governance and regulatory risks is in their best interests.

On September 2, Aurora's Board of Directors filed a directors' circular which UNANIMOUSLY recommended that shareholders REJECT Curaleaf's hostile bid by TAKING NO ACTION and NOT TENDERING their shares. The Board UNANIMOUSLY recommends that any Aurora shareholders who have tendered their shares to the hostile bid WITHDRAW those shares.

Curaleaf's latest application does not change the Board's view that its hostile bid is inadequate and fails to reflect the value of Aurora's business or the opportunities ahead.

Lavender Appoints Two Clinical Leaders to Support Quality and Operations at Scale

The national telepsychiatry practice appoints Kara Birch, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, and Anna Lau, MSN, PMHNP-BC, WHNP-BC, to strengthen clinical excellence and nursing operations.

NEW YORK, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As telepsychiatry expands access to mental health care, maintaining consistent quality and patient experience across diverse models of care has become increasingly important. Lavender, the largest nurse-owned telepsychiatry practice in the United States, has invested in its clinical leadership with the appointments of Kara Birch, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, as Director of Clinical Excellence, and Anna Lau, MSN, PMHNP-BC, WHNP-BC, as Director of Nursing Operations.

Birch and Lau collaborate to lead two connected areas of practice: Birch advances the clinical vision, standards and strategy shaping how Lavender delivers psychiatric care, while Lau oversees the operational structure supporting more than 140 nurse practitioners across a rapidly growing, national team. As Lavender expands its reach, the appointments formalize two leadership functions central to maintaining consistent standards, clinician support and patient experience across states.

"Expanding access is essential, but access alone is not enough," said Brighid Gannon, DNP, PMHNP-BC, co-founder of Lavender. "Patients need to know that their care is safe, thoughtful and consistently held to a high standard. Clinicians also need the leadership, systems, and support to put those standards into practice. Kara and Anna bring complementary experience that will help us protect both as Lavender grows."

Birch joined Lavender's executive team in February 2026, bringing over 13 years of clinical strategy experience across academic medicine, community health systems, and digital health. She leads clinical quality, policy, education and credentialing practices underpinning care across the organization. Before joining Lavender, Birch designed a quality review system for Headway's network of more than 5,000 clinicians. She is also a Full Professor at the UCSF School of Nursing, where her leadership has included launching California's first statewide psychiatric nurse practitioner program across four UC campuses. She continues to see patients in an integrated mental health and obstetrics and gynecology setting, grounding her work in patient care.

"Clinical quality should be designed into how an organization operates," said Birch. "It has to show up in the standards clinicians follow, the outcomes we measure, the education and support we provide, and the way clients experience care. My role is to connect those pieces so Lavender can keep growing while protecting the clinical rigor, compassion, and human connection that define our care."

Lau was appointed Director of Nursing Operations in late 2025 after joining Lavender as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in 2023. She oversees more than 140 nurse practitioners, working with four leads to ensure day-to-day support is accessible across the practice.

With more than 15 years of experience spanning psychiatric care, women's health, public health and clinical operations, Lau combines operational leadership with firsthand knowledge of Lavender's clinicians, clients, and model of care.

"As we continue to expand across the United States, we are committed to ensuring our clinicians have access to the support and systems they need to care for our clients," said Lau. "Our structure gives nurse practitioners clear places to go for guidance, problem-solving, and peer support, even when they are working across different states and schedules. That connection helps clinicians stay supported in the day-to-day work of caring for clients."

About Lavender

Lavender is the largest nurse-owned telepsychiatry practice in the United States. Founded on the belief that psychiatric care should be kind, collaborative and effective, Lavender provides timely access to psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, medication management and therapy through more than 140 board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioners serving clients in over 40 states. Lavender also works with employers and healthcare partners to integrate psychiatric services into existing care pathways.
