Xinhua Silk Road: "My City, My Home" global visual submission campaign kicks off in Fuzhou for World Cities Day

BEIJING, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A global call for "My City, My Home" visual submission campaign for the upcoming World Cities Day has officially kicked off in Fuzhou, southeast China's Fujian Province, inviting people around the world to submit photos and short videos to share stories of urban development.

World Cities Day, celebrated annually on October 31 since 2014, is the first UN-designated international day dedicated to cities. Fuzhou will host the Global Observance of World Cities Day 2026.

As part of the Observance, the "My City, My Home" campaign aims to enhance the global influence of World Cities Day, encourage greater public participation, and promote the concept of sustainable urban development through a campaign open to everyone.

According to the announcement for the campaign, individuals, families, communities, schools, social organizations and other groups are all welcome to participate. The submissions should closely reflect the annual theme of this year's World Cities Day -- Regenerating the City: Adequate Housing for All.

Participants should form a square frame with the thumbs and index fingers of both hands to frame scenes that showcase the livability and renewal of their cities, and then take photos or short videos. This signature gesture symbolizes houses that shelter people, evokes the outline of early walled cities, and represents a perspective through which to capture the beauty of cities.

Participants are encouraged to start their videos with opening lines such as "This is my city". They are also encouraged to include in their photos and videos an introduction to the city and the filming location, the reasons why the selected scene reflects urban regeneration or livability, and personal stories related to the city.

The submission period runs from the date of publication until 11:59 p.m. on October 14 (Beijing Time). Photos and videos may be submitted via Douyin or to the designated email address [email protected] .

Photos and videos may be submitted in either 9:16 vertical or 16:9 horizontal format. Each video should be at least 5 seconds long.

Outstanding submissions will be selected for inclusion in the official campaign video, which will be presented at the opening ceremony of the Global Observance of World Cities Day 2026 in Fuzhou on October 31.

Poll finds surging demand for AI-based video encoding

HANGZHOU, China, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Hikvision has developed Guanlan Encoding, a technology that uses AI to identify more and less information-rich areas in video images and encodes every frame accordingly.

To gauge the potential impact of the new technology, asmag.com and Hikvision have teamed up for a survey of asmag readers, entitled "AI encoding technology for video security," and asked them about their experience with the "storage challenge" and where they see potential in their projects for AI-based encoding.

Storage pressure is real and growing

When asked "How significant a challenge is video storage cost or capacity in your business or projects?" a large number of respondents—38.2%—identified storage pressure as a "major challenge." It was the second-most given answer among all respondents, trailing closely behind 43.2% who said storage is a "moderate" challenge. When asked "Has the storage challenge changed compared to 12 months ago?" the largest share of respondents—once again 43.2%—said it has "increased moderately."

Guanlan Encoding—Hikvision's solution to a growing pain point

Guanlan Encoding is built on the H.265 standard and integrates Hikvision's Guanlan Large-Scale AI Model into continuous encoding workflows. Rather than compressing every part of a frame equally—the approach traditional codecs take—Guanlan Encoding identifies which parts of a scene matter most, such as people, vehicles and other moving objects, and allocates more detail to them. Static or low-motion background footage, by contrast, is compressed far more aggressively.

According to Hikvision, this combination of different compression rates in the same frame helps reduce storage needs by 30% to 50% on average without sacrificing details that matter for investigations and monitoring.

Guanlan is already gaining ground

Even though it was introduced so recently, over half of survey respondents expressed familiarity with Guanlan Encoding: 43.3% said they are "familiar with it" despite not yet having hands-on experience, while 8.3% said they are already using the technology.

Overall, the survey showed the severity of the storage challenge, but also that Hikvision is well positioned to offer a significant fix to the pain point. Guanlan Encoding plays a key role as it uses AI not to produce more data, but to reduce the burden of more data on storage infrastructure.

Find more reporting about the "AI encoding technology for video security" on the dedicated landing page on asmag.com, or download the full results of the survey.

Noah Holdings Hosts 2026 Global Investor Summit "The Year of Realization: A New Chapter in Global Allocation"

Serving Global Chinese Families With a Global Investment Network, Licensed Teams and AI Capabilities

HONG KONG, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Noah Holdings Limited ("Noah" or the "Company") (NYSE: NOAH; HKEX: 6686), a wealth management institution serving global Chinese families, together with its global asset allocation platform Olive Asset Management ("Olive"), successfully held its 2026 Global Investor Summit, themed "The Year of Realization: A New Chapter in Global Allocation," in Hong Kong. Addressing the industry transformation driven by AI and the long-term wealth needs of global Chinese families, Noah discussed how it is combining the global investment network and professional expertise it has developed over the years with AI capabilities to build a wealth management system that clients can use and rely on over the long term.

Investment professionals from Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP, a part of BlackRock), Macquarie Asset Management, Bridgepoint, HarbourVest Partners and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Asset Management attended the summit and participated in discussions. Noah's global network of investment managers is an important foundation of its investment capabilities. Through its ongoing investments in funds globally, Noah and Olive continue to build relationships with managers and accumulate underlying research data, drawing on these resources to understand industry shifts, validate investment judgments and support clients' long-term asset allocation.

Understanding the Responsibility of Wealth Management, Starting From Clients' Long-Term Interests

Noah Holdings believes that the productivity shift brought by AI is changing how wealth is created and is placing new demands on families' long-term planning. Wealth management needs to understand the long-term forces behind changes in technology, capital and family needs, while also factoring in family governance and succession. The responsibility of professional institutions is to help clients understand these changes and make judgments based on their own needs, building trust through long-term engagement.

Noah Holdings Chairwoman Norah Wang said: "Care is what expertise is for – that has always been Noah's foundation. Our job is not to predict events, but to identify forces. Real care means using professional judgment to help clients see clearly which fluctuations they can bear, and which risks they must avoid."

Noah Holdings CEO Zander Yin said at the summit that every technological revolution rewrites the world order and redraws the map of resources. The productivity shift now being driven by AI is no exception – it is likewise changing the path for corporate growth and investor participation.

Yin said: "The industrial revolutions of the past freed human hands; this AI revolution is further extending the human brain and human intelligence. Noah's long-accumulated insight into GPs lets us keep observing how leading investment institutions make their choices. With AI, we are connecting this accumulated knowledge into clearer research threads – this 'map' is the trajectory of choices made by the world's leading institutions. Following this map to identify companies worth deeper research is the approach we take."

These judgments ultimately need to be embedded in a system clients can use. Noah's three platforms operate in coordination: ARK Wealth Management handles account services and investment execution, covering the global banking system, trading channels, mutual funds and structured products; Olive Asset Management is responsible for long-term asset allocation, covering private equity, venture capital, real estate and global infrastructure; and Glory Family Heritage focuses on family protection and intergenerational planning, providing global family succession and lifestyle services. The three platforms work together within a unified framework to translate clients' long-term needs into concrete investment, allocation and succession arrangements.

Noah Olive's "Institutional Intelligence": Making Judgment Evidence-Based and Experience Cumulative

Olive Asset Management Global CEO Peng Jing said at the summit that Olive is continuing to build its "institutional intelligence," turning the research, decisions and experience accumulated through long-term investment practice into shared organizational methods and standards, so that professional judgment can accumulate over time, be tested, and improve through practice.

Observing the choices made by top-tier institutions is the starting point for research, not the conclusion. A global network of managers provides breadth of research, but institutional prestige and the number of investments alone cannot substitute for judgment. The team tracks how many genuinely independent sources of information support a given judgment, rather than simply counting how many firms have co-invested. At the execution level, Olive evaluates company quality and purchase price separately; at the research level, screening models need to be tested using only the information available at each historical point in time, with the methodology then refined based on actual outcomes. Project data, the basis for decisions, and the lessons drawn from both successes and mistakes are thereby retained within the organization over time. In this process, AI helps expand information coverage, detect anomalies and maintain ongoing tracking, while the professional team remains responsible for industry judgment, risk assessment and final decisions.

The summit also included a series of breakout sessions on topics such as cutting-edge technology in Silicon Valley, positioning in global private markets, opportunities in public markets, and family succession planning, with professionals from Noah and partner institutions taking part in the discussions.

Noah will continue to connect global investment resources, professional research and client service, working through its platforms to support the long-term investment and wealth succession needs of global Chinese families.

UWMC INVESTOR ALERT: UWM Holdings Corporation Investors with Substantial Losses Have Opportunity to Lead Class Action Lawsuit, Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP Announces - October 13, 2026 Deadline
Image File
Original HTML

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The law firm of Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP announces that purchasers or acquirers of UWM Holdings Corporation (NYSE: UWMC) securities between March 9, 2026 and August 5, 2026, both dates inclusive (the "Class Period"), have until Tuesday, October 13, 2026 to seek appointment as lead plaintiff of the UWM class action lawsuit. Captioned Bond v. UWM Holdings Corporation, No. 26-cv-12862 (E.D. Mich.), the UWM class action lawsuit charges UWM as well as certain of UWM's top executive officers with violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

If you suffered substantial losses and wish to serve as lead plaintiff of the UWM class action lawsuit, please provide your information here:

https://www.rgrdlaw.com/cases-uwm-holdings-corporation-class-action-lawsuit-uwmc.html

You can also contact attorneys Ken Dolitsky or Michael Albert of Robbins Geller by calling 800/851-7783 or via e-mail at [email protected].

CASE ALLEGATIONS: UWM engages in the origination, sale, and servicing residential mortgage lending. According to the complaint, in December 2025, UWM and Two Harbors Investment Corp. signed an all-stock merger agreement valued at $1.3 billion to expand UWM's mortgage servicing rights. Allegedly, in March 2026, Two Harbors Investment Corp. terminated the UWM agreement due to a competing offer and agreed to pay UWM's termination fee.

The UWM class action lawsuit alleges that defendants throughout the Class Period made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (i) UWM had deviated from its traditional strategy of not hedging its mortgage servicing rights to take a major hedge position; (ii) UWM over-hedged itself in anticipation of the Two Harbors Investment Corp. transaction; (iii) UWM's purported efforts to balance its risk in fact created an excess hedging risk; and (iv) that, as a result of the foregoing, defendants' positive statements about UWM's business, operations, and prospects were materially misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis.

On August 5, 2026, after the market closed, UWM reported second quarter fiscal year 2026 financial results, allegedly including a nearly $603.2 million interest rate derivatives loss which contributed to a $451.9 million second quarter net loss, and that total equity fell 43.6% year over year, reflecting the net loss and derivative-related charges. Then, on August 6, 2026, UWM held an earnings call in connection with its second quarter 2026 financial results. According to the complaint, UWM's Chief Executive Officer, Mathew Ishbia, disclosed "[w]e were over-hedged, if you think of it that way, protecting against the Two Harbors transaction" and that "[w]e don't traditionally hedge our MSRs [Mortgage Servicing Rights]" but "when you're going through and acquiring a company like Two Harbors and a massive MSR book… it created a little more risk. So . . . we did put a hedge on to protect against that risk and then a lot of things happen[ed]…and then obviously, the Two Harbors transaction went away. And so a confluence of events that created a hedge loss." On this news, the price of UWM shares fell nearly 35%, according to the complaint.

THE LEAD PLAINTIFF PROCESS: The Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 permits any investor who purchased or acquired UWM securities during the Class Period to seek appointment as lead plaintiff in the UWM class action lawsuit. A lead plaintiff is generally the movant with the greatest financial interest in the relief sought by the putative class who is also typical and adequate of the putative class. A lead plaintiff acts on behalf of all other class members in directing the UWM class action lawsuit. The lead plaintiff can select a law firm of its choice to litigate the UWM class action lawsuit. An investor's ability to share in any potential future recovery is not dependent upon serving as lead plaintiff of the UWM class action lawsuit.

Bestzyme Launches World's First Dedicated, Automated Smart Production Line for Sweet Proteins in Jinan

JINAN, China, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bestzyme, a synthetic biology company under GenScript Biotech, today announced the completion of the world's first dedicated, automated smart production line for sweet proteins at its Jinan facility. This milestone marks the first full-chain integration of R&D, mass production, and application for sweet proteins globally, addressing the food and beverage industry's long-standing challenge of reducing sugar without compromising taste.

Complete the "Final Piece of the Puzzle"

Dr. Bai Aixi, General Manager of Bestzyme, noted that the real challenge in sugar reduction is not simply removing sugar, but replicating the pure, full-bodied, natural taste of sucrose while removing calories and metabolic burden. The company's flagship product, Mellia® Brazzein sweet protein, is not a simple replacement for traditional sweeteners, but rather the "final piece of the puzzle" in sweetener formulations. It can efficiently blend with existing sweeteners such as Stevia and Monk fruit to achieve complete, rounded sweetness. With a clean label and no impact on blood sugar, Mellia® means "zero sugar" no longer requires a compromise on taste — it's an upgrade.

Engineering Breakthrough: 100 Tons Annually, Equivalent to 300,000 Tons of Sucrose Sweetness

Brazzein, derived from the West African Oubli fruit, is thousands of times sweeter than sucrose, with virtually no glycemic impact and zero calories. However, due to low host expression levels and extreme difficulty in separation and purification, it has long remained at the laboratory stage. Bestzyme, with over a decade of expertise in industrial enzymes and biocatalysis, has successfully overcome high-density fermentation.

The new Jinan facility spans 5,000 square meters and features a fully automated "fermentation — purification — freeze-drying" process. Once operational, the Mellia® sweet protein product line will have an annual capacity of over 100 tons. Based on high-purity Brazzein sweetness conversion, this is equivalent to the sweetness of 300,000 tons of sucrose annually. Capacity is expected to have the potential to double within two years.

Global Footprint: U.S. Market First to Launch

Mellia® has completed its "0 to 1" commercial validation. In the U.S. market, Mellia® partnered with an innovative sparkling water brand to bring a product to market achieving zero sugar with full-bodied sweetness, gaining consumer recognition and entering the "1 to N" scale-up phase.

On the regulatory front, Mellia® received a "No Questions Letter" from the U.S. FDA in April 2025, confirming its GRAS status, alongside regulatory progress underway in several other countries and regions.

According to industry reports, the global sweet protein market reached the tens-of-millions scale in 2025. Companies with integrated "R&D + owned production + application solutions" capabilities are extremely rare globally. Bestzyme is the first to achieve this, providing customers in the global food and beverage industry with structural guarantees in supply stability, quality control, and response speed.

Strategic Significance: Opening a New Era of Natural Sweetness

The completion of Bestzyme's Jinan production line marks a landmark industrialization breakthrough for synthetic biology manufacturing in the natural sugar reduction sector, a market valued in the hundreds of billions.

Mellia® is positioned as the "final piece of the puzzle" in sweetener formulations, delivering complete, rounded sweetness through synergistic blending. Brand proposition: Make Sweetness Complete.

MARTIN, Mich., Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- On a day when Top Fuel points leader Shawn Langdon again made the fastest run in Top Fuel history, the standout powered to the win on Monday at the Dodge NHRA Great Lakes Nationals presented by MOPAR, defeating Spencer Massey in the final round at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park to finish off one of the most dominant days in NHRA history.

Jordan Vandergriff (Funny Car), Troy Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) and John Hall (Pro Stock Motorcycle) also won the 15th of 20 races during the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season and the first of six races in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs.

In the final round, Langdon went 3.664-seconds at 346.15 mph in his 12,000-horsepower Kalitta Air dragster, powering past Massey's 3.764 at 327.75 to pick up his sixth victory of the season and second in a row.

He moved back into the points lead, delivering one unbelievable statement run after another. That included an incredible blast of 3.663 at 346.95 in the semifinals against teammate Doug Kalitta, making the fastest pass in NHRA history.

That shattered the run of 345.00 from Valdosta that Langdon ran in May and Langdon again topped 346 mph in the finals against Massey. All four of his runs on Monday were 342 mph or faster, while he also made the quickest run of the year, going 3.652 to open the day against Maddi Gordon.

"It just goes to show it takes everything," Langdon said. "You have a track like U.S. 131 that takes a lot of pride in their facility. It's a great track and then you get some good conditions and really anything's possible. It all starts there and my guys have been doing such a great job.

"Brian (Husen, crew chief) made perfect calls and he races smart. It was just getting everything in sync and the car showed what it was capable of. We knew that it was going to be good, but to be able to do that for four runs today, I'm just proud of my guys to get this win. There was just a lot of good things going on this weekend."

Vandergriff, who qualified last in 16th, moved to second in points with his third victory of the season for John Force Racing, going 3.858 at 329.43 in his Chevrolet to defeat points leader Matt Hagan in the finals of the Dodge NHRA Great Lakes Nationals presented by MOPAR.

Coughlin won for the first time in 41 races, slipping past points leader Matt Hartford with a 6.515 at 209.69 in his Chevrolet Camaro. It is his sixth career win and first since 2024.

Hall earned his first win of the season after a run of 6.808 at 194.22 on his Buell in the championship round against first-time finalist Marc Ingwersen.

The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series returns to action Friday through Sunday with the inaugural NHRA Nationals at The Rock at Rockingham Dragway in Rockingham, N.C.

Inglewood Associates and Gordon Brothers Provide Update on Sale Process for 925 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Inglewood Associates and Gordon Brothers today announced an update regarding the court-supervised sale process for the property located at 925 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio, commonly known as The 925 Building and The Centennial Building, and formerly known as the Huntington Building and the Union Commerce Building.

Following a comprehensive marketing effort and ongoing discussions with prospective purchasers, the Receiver has not selected a stalking horse bidder at this time. While Receiver and his advisors have had detailed discussions with numerous interested parties, the potential bidders have specifically indicated a preference to participating in a subsequent auction as opposed to submitting a Stalking Horse Bid.

The marketing process continues to generate substantial interest from both local, national and international investors, developers, unique users and other capital sources. Gordon Brothers and Inglewood Associates remain encouraged by the level of engagement and believe the property continues to attract significant attention from parties seeking a transformational redevelopment opportunity in downtown Cleveland.

The decision not to designate a stalking horse bidder does not alter the court-approved sale timeline authorized by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Interested parties continue to conduct diligence and evaluate potential acquisition opportunities, and the Receiver remains focused on maximizing value through a transparent and competitive process. The sale procedures provide for the submission of qualified bids and, if appropriate, a competitive auction process designed to achieve the highest and best outcome for the property.

Qualified bids for the property are due on or before October 24, 2026. Prospective purchasers interested in participating in the process should continue to follow the applicable court-approved bidding procedures and deadlines.

While qualified bids remain due on or before October 24, 2026, the Receiver continues to evaluate all opportunities generated through the marketing process. Consistent with the court-approved sale procedures, the Receiver retains flexibility to pursue the transaction path that is determined to maximize value and achieve the highest and best outcome for stakeholders.

The 925 Building encompasses approximately 1.45 million square feet and occupies a prominent location at the intersection of East 9th Street and Euclid Avenue in Cleveland's central business district. The historic property is one of the city's most recognizable landmarks and represents a unique redevelopment opportunity.

NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP was named one of "The Most Feared Law Firms in Litigation" in BTI Consulting Group's (BTI) Litigation Outlook 2027: More Aggressive. More Complexity. Higher Stakes. The recognition marks the firm's second consecutive year on BTI's list of law firms clients identify as those they least want to face across the table in litigation.

The firm also earned recognition across eight litigation categories: "Leader" for Class Action, Commercial Litigation, and Employment Litigation; "Distinguished" for Complex Commercial Litigation and Cybersecurity Litigation; and "Standout" for Complex Employment Litigation, Product Liability Litigation, and Intellectual Property (IP) Litigation.

BTI's report reflects feedback from legal decision-makers on the firms best suited to meet the most pressing needs in a litigation landscape defined by higher stakes, more complex claims, and increasingly aggressive disputes. The 2027 report underscores clients' heightened focus on firms with the strategic judgment, creativity, speed, and courtroom credibility needed to address novel and business-critical matters, including bet-the-company litigation, class actions, cybersecurity litigation, employment disputes, commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, and product liability claims.

The 2027 rankings continue Greenberg Traurig's multiyear showing in BTI's litigation outlook series, including repeat recognition in Class Action, Commercial Litigation, Complex Commercial Litigation, Complex Employment Litigation, Employment Litigation, IP Litigation, and Product Liability Litigation.
