Power Metallic Extends Lion 25% Deeper as Power Metallic Intercepts 5.70 Meters of 14.00% CuEqRec¹ in Hole 26-125

TORONTO, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Power Metallic Mines Inc. (the "Company" or "Power Metallic") (TSXV: PNPN) (OTCBB: PNPNF) (Frankfurt: IVV1) is pleased to provide the first assays of extensional deep drilling of assay results from its Summer 2026 drill program. Prior to the summer drill program drilling concentrated on improving the density of drill intercepts for the recently announced MRE to increase the confidence of modelling Lion, particularly within the range of a potential future open pit, and to bring the vast majority of the known deposit as of the end of the winter program (end April 2026) to Drill Indicated category.

For the summer drill program Power Metallic has carried out widely spaced exploration drilling on geological and geophysical (EM) targets and more importantly begun a program of extending the Lion deposit to depth below the outline of the MRE model. The two holes reported here are the first assays to be completed on this deep drilling.

Hole PML-26-125 is the deepest assay results to date at Lion at a vertical depth of nearly 800m vertical depth, well below the current MRE. Prior to Hole PML-26-125 The deepest reported hole intersecting the core of the Lion shoot to date (PML-25-002) intersected 1.95 metres at 7.95% CuEqRec* at approximately 610 metres vertical depth. This hole was targeted on the projected center of the Lion plunge approximately 150m below the previous deepest hole and intersected 5.7m of massive to semi-massive copper sulphides (Table 1). An earlier drill hole, PML-26-121a targeted the western side of the projected plunge of Lion at a vertical depth of nearly 650 meters and intersected disseminated to semi-massive copper sulphides. A subsequent hole (PML-26-128) tested the eastern side of the interpreted Lion plunge at nearly 900 meters vertical depth, showing disseminated and massive veinlets of copper sulphides, with assays pending (Figure 1). All three of these holes firmly established that the Lion deposit continues at depth and has not been fully delineated.

Power Metallic is expecting more assay results from the Lion deep drilling and regional exploration in the weeks to come.

Terry Lynch, CEO of Power Metallic, commented:

We are in the unique position due to the high grade and near surface nature of our project to advance development of what the world needs in Critical Minerals, namely Copper and PGEs, but also continue our multifaceted exploration approach to allow the resource to grow substantially between now and the end of 2027. Today's results pushed us over 25% deeper than the deepest hole used in our recently announced MRE and it did so with significantly higher grades. We have visibility down over 50% deeper and visibly it looks like we are still in the Lion Zone. As we have seen with the great hit Talon Metals recently had deposits can get thicker and richer at depth. The blessing in Lion is our mineralization starts at surface and extends down making it very economic to mine and explore. We are excited to get back to exploration!

About Power Metallic Mines Inc.

Power Metallic is a Canadian exploration company focused on advancing the Nisk Project Area (Nisk–Lion–Tiger)—a high–grade Copper–PGE, Nickel, gold and silver system—toward Canada's next polymetallic mine.

On 1 February 2021, Power Metallic (then Chilean Metals) secured an option to earn up to 80% of the Nisk project from Critical Elements Lithium Corp. (TSX–V: CRE). Following the June 2025 purchase of 313 adjoining claims (~167 km²) from Li–FT Power, the Company now controls ~330 km² and roughly 50 km of prospective basin margins.

Power Metallic is expanding mineralization at the Nisk and Lion discovery zones, evaluating the Tiger target, and exploring the enlarged land package through successive drill programs. Beyond the Nisk Project Area, Power Metallic indirectly has an interest in significant land packages in British Columbia and Chile, by its 50% share ownership position in Chilean Metals Inc., which were spun out from Power Metallic via a plan of arrangement on February 3, 2025.

It also owns 100% of Power Metallic Arabia which owns 100% interest in the Jabul Baudan exploration license in The Kingdon of Saudi Arabia's Jabal Said Belt. The property encompasses over 200 square kilometres in an area recognized for its high prospectivity for copper gold and zinc mineralization. The region is known for its massive volcanic sulfide (VMS) deposits, including the world-class Jabal Sayid mine and the promising Umm and Damad deposit.

Corvex Management requisitions general meeting to elect James Gemmel to the board of Whitbread PLC

After a year spent seeking a constructive path with the Board, Corvex is requisitioning a general meeting to appoint James Gemmel as a direct shareholder voice in the boardroom

Corvex comes with no predetermined agenda and is not demanding a sale of the company - only a rigorous, fact-based review of every strategic alternative available to Whitbread

James Gemmel has 15 years of experience engaging with public company boards and management helping shareholders unlock value

LONDON, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Corvex Management LP ("Corvex"), on behalf of funds advised by it, today delivered a notice to the Board of Directors of Whitbread PLC ("Whitbread" or the "Company") requesting that it convene a general meeting of shareholders for the purpose of electing James Gemmel, a Partner at Corvex, to Whitbread's Board of Directors.

Corvex has been a shareholder in Whitbread since 2024, currently holds c. 6.4% of Whitbread's ordinary shares and has an economic interest (including such shares) in Whitbread representing approximately 7% of total shares outstanding, which it believes makes it Whitbread's largest active shareholder. It believes the Company is anchored by a unique and valuable collection of assets, including the iconic, market-leading Premier Inn brand. However, over the past decade Whitbread has delivered negative total shareholder returns and has materially underperformed its peers and the wider market on a one, three, five and ten year time horizon and the Company is currently trading at a significantly discounted multiple to its peers. In Corvex's view, the Board's recent strategy review failed to address Whitbread's underlying challenges and was poorly received by the market.

Corvex is not seeking control of Whitbread and is not demanding a sale of the Company. It is asking for a single seat on the Board, which currently has very limited shareholder alignment, to work in a collegiate and constructive manner, with no predetermined agenda, to benchmark the Company's current strategy, which has failed to deliver value for shareholders, against every credible alternative to establish a pathway that maximises value for all.

The letter, together with a presentation of supplemental materials, is available at www.unlockingwhitbread.com.

The full text of the letter follows:

September 22, 2026

To the Board of Directors, and Shareholders, of Whitbread PLC:

Today we delivered a notice to the Company requesting that it schedule a general shareholder meeting for the purpose of electing James Gemmel, a Partner at Corvex, to Whitbread's Board of Directors. James has been with Corvex since our launch in 2011 and has spent the past fifteen years conducting deep fundamental research on, and investing in, companies like Whitbread: businesses with strong fundamentals that have underperformed and are going through a period of change. Throughout, he has worked with boards and management teams to create value for all shareholders.

We have been investors in Whitbread since 2024 and currently hold c. 6.4% of Whitbread's ordinary shares and have an economic interest (including such shares) in Whitbread representing approximately 7% of total shares outstanding, which we believe makes us Whitbread's largest active shareholder. Our thesis remains largely unchanged since our initial investment: Whitbread is a unique collection of assets anchored by the iconic Premier Inn brand with a leading market position. What has changed is our growing concern with the Company's strategic direction, continued commitment to the status quo, and, in particular, the structural complexity of the business and its approach to capital allocation.

Over the past year, we have repeatedly raised these concerns with the Company and made clear our desire to work constructively with the Board, including through direct Board representation. We had hoped to reach a mutually agreeable path forward through private engagement, but the Company's limited willingness to meaningfully engage has ultimately left us with little choice but to take the action we are announcing today.

Since the sale of Costa in 2018, Whitbread has deployed ~£2.6bn of growth CapEx while delivering only ~3% EPS CAGR, a flat dividend and a ~£2.3bn increase in lease-adjusted net debt. The consequences are clear: shareholders have suffered negative total returns of approximately (17%) over the past ten years, (18%) over the past five years and (22%) over the past year, materially underperforming comparable companies and relevant indices.

We believe a fresh perspective is warranted. With the Company committing to a further ~£2.5bn of gross CapEx over the next five years, funded by ~£1.5bn of sale-leaseback financing, a commitment of this scale requires direct shareholder representation on the Board - certainly more than the ~0.04% of shares currently owned by the Board. Corvex has spent fifteen years working with boards through exactly these kinds of strategic inflection points, with members of our team having served on more than a dozen public company boards, particularly across hospitality and consumer businesses.

We intend to join this Board with no preconceived notions and no predetermined agenda - only a commitment to maximizing risk-adjusted value for all shareholders. We are not seeking control, nor are we demanding a sale of the Company. Our priority would be to fully understand the rationale, assumptions and expected returns underpinning the Company's current capital plan, and then rigorously benchmark that plan against every credible strategic, structural and operational alternative. We want the facts to determine the best path forward.

We are not looking to criticize individual directors. We want to work with the Board in a collegiate and non-adversarial way, as one member among many, bringing a direct shareholder perspective to these decisions. With no constraint on our investment horizon, we intend to act as a long-term owner. Having sought a constructive path with the Company over the past year, we are now simply exercising the rights afforded to us as a 5%+ shareholder under UK law.

James Gemmel has done this before - working constructively with incumbent boards while helping deliver meaningful value for shareholders. As a Non-Executive Director of Kindred Group and Chair of its Audit Committee, James helped steer the business through a period of significant strategic change. The Board appointed a new CEO, exited North America to refocus capital on core markets, and restored Kindred's leadership position in the newly regulated Dutch market. Following a strategic review, James led negotiations with FDJ's Chairwoman and CEO, resulting in a recommended all-cash acquisition at a 35% premium to the 30-day average share price.

Following James' appointment to the Board of MDU Resources, the company delivered a step change in profitability across all three businesses. A strategic review led to two spin-offs, a sharpened focus on improving returns in the regulated utility business, and substantial margin expansion at construction materials subsidiary Knife River. Together, these actions generated a 140% return for shareholders.

Whitbread's share price today does not reflect the value of the underlying assets; the Board's decisions over the next five years will. We therefore ask for your support in appointing James Gemmel to the Board as a mandate to evaluate change, ensuring shareholders have a direct voice in the room as those critical decisions are made.

Respectfully,

Keith Meister

AbbVie Announces European Commission Approval of RINVOQ® (upadacitinib) for the Treatment of Children with Active Polyarticular Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

- RINVOQ is now approved in the European Union for the treatment of active polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA) in patients two years of age and older who have responded inadequately to, or who are intolerant to, one or more DMARDs1

- Approval was based on the open-label Phase 1 SELECT-YOUTH study and data from adults with rheumatoid arthritis1,2

- A new oral solution of RINVOQ was approved for use in patients with pJIA1

- RINVOQ is currently approved in the European Union for 11 indications across various immune-mediated, inflammatory diseases1

NORTH CHICAGO, Ill., Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- AbbVie (NYSE: ABBV) today announced that the European Commission (EC) has approved RINVOQ® (upadacitinib; 15 mg tablet and weight-based 1 mg/mL oral solution) for the treatment of active polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (polyarticular rheumatoid factor positive [RF+] or negative [RF-], extended oligoarticular), in patients two years of age and older who have responded inadequately to, or who are intolerant to, one or more disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs). RINVOQ may be used as monotherapy or in combination with methotrexate.1

"The European Commission's approval of RINVOQ for pJIA expands the treatment options available to pediatric patients and their families, offering the potential for remission, improvements in pain and physical function," said Roopal Thakkar, M.D., executive vice president, research and development, chief scientific officer, AbbVie. "RINVOQ's new indication continues to build on our differentiated immunology portfolio with breadth and depth across therapeutic areas and patient populations."

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the most common rheumatic disease of childhood and is estimated to impact approximately 126,000 children in Europe.3 pJIA is a subtype of JIA and is characterized by inflammation in five or more joints – including the small joints of the hands and feet and large joints like the knees, hips and ankles – that persists for at least six weeks in children and adolescents.4,5 This disease can be painful and debilitating and, if left untreated, may lead to joint damage.3,6 Ongoing disease activity in pJIA is common, with persistent symptoms or flares affecting many patients into adulthood.6-8

Data Supporting the EC Approval

The EC approval of RINVOQ for pJIA is supported by the SELECT-YOUTH study and data from adult patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The SELECT-YOUTH study is a single-arm, open-label, global, Phase 1 study evaluating the pharmacokinetics, efficacy, safety and tolerability of RINVOQ in patients ages 2 to 18 years.1,2

RINVOQ demonstrated efficacy as early as week 12, with response rates improving through week 48, as shown below.1,2 The efficacy observed in children with pJIA was generally consistent with responses in adult patients with rheumatoid arthritis.1

Functional ability, as measured by C-HAQ, improved, with a mean change from baseline of −0.46 (n=115) at week 12 and −0.64 (n=108) at week 48. Pain scores also improved, with a mean change from baseline of −26.2 (n=116) at week 12 and −30.8 (n=109) at week 48. C-HAQ and pain data are reported as observed.2

In the study, no new safety risks were identified.9 The rate of treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) was 499.6 events per 100 patient-years (E/100 PY). The rate of serious adverse events was 10.2 E/100 PY. The rate of TEAEs that led to discontinuation of the study drug was 2.7 E/100 PY. No cases of major cardiovascular or thrombotic events, malignancies or deaths were reported during the study period.2 No negative impact on growth or development was observed.9

"The SELECT-YOUTH results underscore that clinical remission for children with pJIA is not a rare hope but a critical and achievable outcome that helps reduce the risk of permanent joint damage in some of our youngest, most vulnerable patients," said Prof. Dr. Gerd Horneff, head of the Department of General Pediatrics, Asklepios Clinic, Sankt Augustin, Germany. "The approval of RINVOQ in active pJIA provides a new oral systemic treatment option for patients suffering from this often-debilitating condition."

RINVOQ is also approved in the European Union for the treatment of adults and adolescents with atopic dermatitis, non-segmental vitiligo and alopecia areata and for adults with radiographic axial spondyloarthritis, non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease and giant cell arteritis.1

About the SELECT-YOUTH Study

The SELECT-YOUTH (M15-340) study is a single-arm, open-label, global, Phase 1 study to evaluate the pharmacokinetics, efficacy, safety and tolerability of upadacitinib in patients with polyarticular course juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pcJIA), ages 2 to 18 years. This study consists of three parts: Part 1 consisted of a seven-day multiple-dose pharmacokinetic evaluation, after which patients in Parts 2 and 3 of the trial received a low dose of upadacitinib (equivalent to 15 mg) by using either a twice-daily oral solution or once-daily extended-release tablet based on their body weight and ability to swallow tablets. For more detailed information on this study, please visit clinicaltrials.gov (NCT03725007).

About RINVOQ® (upadacitinib)

Discovered and developed by AbbVie scientists, RINVOQ is a selective and reversible JAK inhibitor that is being studied in several immune-mediated inflammatory diseases.1,10 In human cellular assays, RINVOQ preferentially inhibits signaling by JAK1 or JAK 1/3 with functional selectivity over cytokine receptors that signal via pairs of JAK2.1

Upadacitinib (RINVOQ) is being studied in Phase 3 clinical trials for hidradenitis suppurativa, Takayasu arteritis and systemic lupus erythematosus and in pediatric studies for systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis, atopic dermatitis, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.

Hylenr Completes Phase 1 LCF Reactor Validation at Texas A&M University

Phase 1 testing identified key thermal, noble-gas and material signatures in the Lattice Confinement Fusion (LCF) reactor, with Hylenr now advancing to Phase 2 studies focused on reproducibility, quantitative measurement and commercialization.

HYDERABAD, India, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyderabad based Deeptech company Hylenr today announced the completion of Phase 1 of an independent validation study of Lattice Confinement Fusion (LCF), conducted at Texas A&M University, marking an important step in the company's efforts to independently evaluate its lattice-based energy technology and advance its roadmap toward commercialization.

The validation study focused on the Hylenr BRT-NiUCS-2 reactor, a small modular system based on hydrogen-loaded nickel-palladium catalyst materials. Multiple devices and catalyst samples were prepared and tested under controlled laboratory conditions in the Nuclear Engineering Department at Texas A&M University.

Titled 'Validation of Anomalous Heat and Nuclear Signatures in the BRT-NiUCS-2 Reactor: Phase 1 LCF Investigation', the research examined the reactor's thermal performance, radiation emissions, residual gas composition, and post-reaction material characteristics. The Phase 1 research paper, co-authored by Hylenr and Texas A&M University, was presented at the 27th International Conference on Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (ICCF-27), held in Niagara Falls, Canada, from August 31 to September 4.

"Our objective has always been to move beyond internal observations and subject the technology to rigorous, independent testing. The validation study conducted at Texas A&M University provides an important external data point across thermal measurements, gas analysis, and material characterization," said Ram Ramaseshan, Co-Founder and CEO, Hylenr. "These results provide a basis for the next phase of validation while reinforcing our focus on reproducibility, quantitative measurement, and scientific transparency."

Prof. Lin Shao, Professor of Nuclear Engineering at Texas A&M University said, "The Phase 1 research provided an opportunity to examine the BRT-NiUCS-2 reactor using a range of complementary analytical techniques. The combination of thermal measurements, residual gas analysis, nuclear diagnostics and post-reaction materials characterization broadens the experimental basis for assessing the observed phenomena and determining priorities for further investigation."

Among the principal diagnostics was Residual Gas Analysis (RGA), conducted using an SRS RGA 100 system under high-vacuum conditions. The study observed elevated helium, argon and neon signals in the active reactor relative to background measurements, with helium and argon signals reported at levels approximately two to three orders of magnitude above background. No corresponding increase in nitrogen was observed, providing evidence against atmospheric leakage as the sole explanation for the measurements.

Thermal measurements using thermocouples and calibrated infrared imaging also showed the active reactor operating at consistently higher temperatures than the calibration device under comparable input-power conditions. The study further reported post-reaction morphological and compositional changes in catalyst samples based on SEM/EDX analysis.

Radiation monitoring using Geiger–Müller and neutron detectors found no detectable gamma or X-ray emissions, while neutron counts remained statistically indistinguishable from background during the approximately five-day monitoring period.

Hylenr will now move toward Phase 2, focusing on testing multiple independent reactors, quantitative calorimetry and improved characterization of loading parameters, alongside isotopic-ratio measurements and advanced analytical techniques including SIMS and ICP-MS.

The company views this staged validation process as a critical bridge between laboratory observations and eventual commercialization, with future development aimed at establishing repeatability, quantifying energy output and defining the engineering requirements for scalable systems.

About Hylenr

Hylenr develops small, modular energy systems using hydrogen-loaded materials and lattice confinement. Its research focuses on material transformation and excess-heat phenomena under controlled conditions, progressing these findings through independent validation toward potential commercial energy applications.

"As Horizon's lead industry partner, we can directly solve our toughest engineering challenges and empower our teams to deliver new experiences faster than ever."

Volvo Cars is the lead car maker working with Accenture and Google Cloud to bring the Horizon platform to the industry. Insights from this collaboration will help refine the platform and expand its generative AI capabilities for automotive companies and other industrial manufacturers.

Accelerating connected software development

Modern vehicles increasingly offer digital experiences, such as navigation, media, voice assistants, connected services and over-the-air software updates. As consumers expect these experiences to become richer and more sophisticated throughout a vehicle's lifetime, manufacturers need faster and more efficient ways to build, test, and validate the software that enables improvements at scale.

For car makers and the wider automotive industry, the Horizon platform addresses these challenges by offering:

- An up to 9x faster software testing using virtual Cuttlefish-based Android Automotive environments, that enable large-scale testing with agentic AI.

- A reduction of infotainment feature development costs by up to 40%.

- Intelligent caching and optimized build pipelines significantly reduce software build times: Instead of waiting up to two hours, engineers can get feedback within minutes.

- Remote access to virtual and physical device farms allows developers worldwide to build and validate software from anywhere, while reducing infrastructure requirements. This improves hardware utilization and reduces the amount of costly physical test equipment required.

- Virtual workbenches are speeding up the onboarding of new developers. Instead of waiting weeks for physical specialized hardware and investing additional hours for the setup, engineers can instantiate their environments in seconds.

"Horizon enables a faster, more flexible and efficient way to deliver software-defined vehicle features. Its standardized, repeatable and scalable processes help deliver reliable, high-quality software products, while significantly reducing time to market," said Juergen Reers, Global Automotive & Mobility Lead, Accenture. "Horizon will allow Volvo Cars' engineers to focus on what matters most: creating differentiated vehicle experiences and continuously delivering new value to drivers through software at high speed."

"Software now defines the automotive brand," said Henry Bzeih, Global Director, Automotive Industry, Google Cloud. "Horizon on Google Cloud gives Volvo Cars the ability to move faster while releasing high-quality software and features on a cadence that matches the expectations of modern mobility. This is how next generation digital experiences reach drivers at agile speed."

Accenture and Google Cloud, with Volvo Cars as leading industry partner, are already working with other automotive and industrial organizations to extend the reach of Horizon into further companies and markets.
