ModelBest and OpenBMB Open-Source MiniCPM-OCR Series, Delivering High-Performance Document Parsing and AI-Powered Quality Control

BEIJING, Oct. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- ModelBest and OpenBMB jointly announced the release and open-source availability of the MiniCPM-OCR series, a family of models for efficient document parsing and parsing-quality assessment. The launch includes two models: MiniCPM-OCR 1.0 (1.3B) and MiniCPM-OCR Jev (2B).

As the first OCR-focused model in the MiniCPM family, MiniCPM-OCR 1.0 brings top-tier parsing accuracy to a compact 1.3-billion-parameter architecture optimized for edge deployment, pushing forward the balance between efficiency and performance for open-source OCR models. Built for real-world conditions, it accurately parses scanned, photographed, curved, tilted and screen-captured documents without cumbersome image pre-correction, lowering the barrier to large-scale document digitization.

The model handles dense bilingual Chinese-English content, complex mathematical formulas, and multi-level or borderless tables, consistently performing at a leading level across a broad range of mainstream industry evaluations. Beyond full-page reconstruction, it supports key information extraction (KIE), pulling specified fields from invoices, IDs and financial statements according to business instructions.

Powered by DSpark decoding acceleration, MiniCPM-OCR 1.0 significantly increases end-to-end throughput while lowering per-page latency. For enterprises processing millions of pagesâsuch as financial contract archives, academic libraries and government recordsâthis means processing far more documents with the same hardware and time budget, at a substantially lower computing cost.

To address the long-standing need for page-by-page manual review, ModelBest and OpenBMB also introduced MiniCPM-OCR Jev, the first OCR result decision model that acts as an "AI quality inspector." Rather than performing OCR itself, Jev compares the source image with OCR output and rapidly assigns confidence scores to text, LaTeX formulas and tables, detecting missing characters, errors and formatting misalignments. Despite its compact 2B-parameter size, Jev delivers judgment accuracy typically associated with far larger models.

Jev supports cross-model deployment and can be integrated into existing OCR workflows without replacing the underlying OCR engine. It can automatically identify reliable results for direct processing, flag potentially inaccurate outputs for human review and select the best result from multiple OCR systems. This enables enterprises to move from full manual inspection toward risk-based, automated quality control.

The MiniCPM-OCR series is available on GitHub, Hugging Face and ModelScope, and supports vLLM, SGLang, llama.cpp and Ollama, along with SDKs, APIs, Agent Skill plugins and open-source fine-tuning code. Day-0 hardware adaptation covers AMD, Arm, Houmo AI, Intel and NVIDIA. Through the FlagOS software stack, it also has Day-0 support for AI and edge chips from CIX Technology, Huawei Ascend, Hygon, Iluvatar CoreX, Kunlunxin, MetaX, Moore Threads, Sunrise, T-Head, TsingMicro, NVIDIA and Apple Mac (Arm).

HanAll F&B Files Patent for Rice Noodle Manufacturing Method, Pursues Development of Noodles Made with Domestic Rice

Company has invested approximately 6 tons of rice flour over three years in manufacturing research, with plans to expand into rice pasta and rice naengmyeon

SEOUL, South Korea, Oct. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- HanAll F&B Farming Association Corporation (hanallfnb) is developing noodle manufacturing technology that uses domestic rice. Based on a manufacturing method that reduces dependence on specific rice varieties and improves noodle separability, the company plans to expand its product range from rice noodles to rice pasta and rice naengmyeon (Korean cold noodles).

hanallfnb said it filed a patent application for a rice noodle manufacturing method in June of this year. The company is developing the technology with the goal of using rice grown in a variety of regions to make noodles. Following this filing, it plans to continue refining the manufacturing technology to widen the range of rice that can be used.

The company began developing the technology because of the difficulties it encountered in making noodles from domestic rice. According to hanallfnb, using rice flour from varieties other than a specific one while raising the domestic rice content of the noodles to 50% or more presented considerable technical challenges. The company said its research focused on reducing these manufacturing constraints.

The development process used approximately 6 tons of rice flour over three years. The company researched manufacturing methods to solve problems identified during the development of its rice noodles, and has built up its technology in a direction that improves noodle separability. hanallfnb has translated these research results into a patent application and is continuing follow-up development.

The long-term goal set by hanallfnb is to make it possible to produce noodles from a wide range of domestic rice varieties. Rather than viewing the patented technology as a finished solution, the company treats it as a foundation for broadening the range of usable ingredients and products. In this way, it aims to increase the potential for developing products that use regional rice.

For follow-up products, the company is considering rice pasta and rice naengmyeon in addition to rice noodles. Rather than remaining limited to a single noodle product, it plans to develop a product range that responds to different cooking methods and consumer preferences. The company is pursuing manufacturing technology and product development in tandem so that rice from various regions can be turned into many types of noodle dishes.

The company believes that lowering manufacturing difficulty is important for expanding the rice noodle market. It expects that if the constraint of having to build products around specific varieties is reduced, a wider range of manufacturers will be able to introduce many types of rice noodles. However, this market expansion is a future goal set out by the company, and the actual scope of application will be broadened through additional technology development.

Located in Taebaek, Gangwon Province, hanallfnb has produced foods using wild mountain greens from the Gangwon region and specialty products from various regions. It has built up manufacturing experience by applying hygiene management from the washing stage of the greens and by adjusting aging processes and recipes. The company is extending its existing food manufacturing capabilities into rice processing while focusing on increasing the use of local agricultural products.

Alongside product development, the company will also work to promote its manufacturing technology and product competitiveness to domestic and international buyers. By communicating directly with buyers, it plans to gauge the response and demand for rice-based noodle products and use that feedback in future product development and sales channel expansion. Raising awareness of domestic rice noodles is also a key task for the company.

hanallfnb has set a direction of broadening the options for consuming rice in forms beyond cooked rice. By refining its rice noodle manufacturing technology and developing follow-up noodle products, the company plans to promote the wider adoption of processed foods made from domestic agricultural products.

"Our goal is to make it possible to produce noodles from any variety of domestic rice based on this patent," hanallfnb said. "We hope that a wide variety of rice noodles will be launched by many different manufacturers, and that the market for Korean domestic rice noodles will grow substantially."

NIDS Co., Ltd. Confirms CES 2027 Participation, Pursues Expansion of Global Supply Chain for Environmental Sensors

Company introduced optical and gas sensors at SEDEX and is strengthening its composite sensor business for robotics, home appliances, automotive, and smart building applications

SEOUL, South Korea, Oct. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Environmental sensor manufacturer NIDS Co., Ltd. has confirmed its participation in CES 2027 and is moving to expand its global business-to-business (B2B) supply chain. Building on its experience supplying sensors to domestic and international home appliance and automotive companies, the company aims to secure overseas customers and extend its applications into smart building HVAC and robotics.

NIDS recently participated in the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association's Sensor Pavilion at SEDEX 2026, held at COEX in Seoul, where it introduced its next-generation sensor modules. The company said the exhibition allowed it to raise awareness of its technology among domestic home appliance and electronic component industry professionals and to lay the groundwork for collaboration in the sensor field.

The company will use CES 2027 as its next stage. NIDS plans to firm up discussions on sensor module supply with global home appliance makers, HVAC specialists, and robotics companies. It aims to extend the industry contacts gained at the domestic exhibition overseas and to convert product introductions into actual supply opportunities.

Founded in 2000, NIDS develops and manufactures environmental sensors and air quality management solutions. According to the company, it has supplied more than 10 million sensors cumulatively to domestic and international companies, including Dyson, Samsung Electronics, and Hyundai Motor. Drawing on this supply track record, the company intends to showcase its precision sensing technology and mass-production capabilities to overseas customers.

Its main products include particulate matter sensors, optical gas sensors based on non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology, composite environmental sensors, and electronic nose sensor modules. The particulate matter sensors measure PM1.0, PM2.5, and PM10, while the gas sensor lineup targets carbon dioxide (COâ), carbon monoxide (CO), and other gases. The electronic nose is used for detecting everyday odors, gas leaks, and fires. The company said it designs the core components required for air quality measurement in-house and has a system in place to mass-produce 5 million units annually.

The area where NIDS will expand development and supply going forward is next-generation composite sensor modules. The company has been pursuing a sensor business that responds to industry-specific demand in home appliances, automotive, and smart building HVAC, and is now concentrating its capabilities on markets such as robotics, industrial safety, and odor detection based on this technology. Building on its experience supplying individual components, NIDS plans to continue developing and supplying, on a B2B basis, modules that handle multiple types of environmental data.

The company will also highlight its sensor product lineup and its newly developed ultra-compact MEMS sensor technology at the exhibition. NIDS explained that, because it owns its precision sensors, it can control sensor sensitivity and tune algorithms to suit the system in which they are applied. Drawing on this technical operating experience, the company plans to pursue partnerships with customers and to promote its business capabilities extending from sensor components to air quality and odor management and industrial safety management.

NIDS will also leverage its existing branch network in its overseas market development. Through its overseas bases in the United States, Japan, and China, the company plans to widen its touchpoints with buyers and seek new supply opportunities in conjunction with its CES participation. Its goal is to generate export results by combining exhibition participation with its local networks.

The company intends to keep expanding the global supply of sensor components as a core pillar of its business. Building on the supply experience accumulated in home appliances and automotive, it will broaden its partners to robotics, HVAC, and smart buildings, and respond to industry-specific air quality measurement demand through the development of next-generation modules.

"We plan to continue expanding the development and B2B supply of next-generation composite sensor modules needed across a range of industries, including home appliances, automotive, and smart building HVAC," NIDS said.

NEW YORK, Oct. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ --

Why: Rosen Law Firm, a global investor rights law firm, reminds purchasers of securities of Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOGL, GOOG) between May 19, 2026 and July 16, 2026, inclusive (the "Class Period"), of the important December 1, 2026 lead plaintiff deadline.

So what: If you purchased Alphabet securities during the Class Period you may be entitled to compensation without payment of any out of pocket fees or costs through a contingency fee arrangement.

What to do next: To join the Alphabet Inc. class action, go to https://rosenlegal.com/cases/alphabet-inc-2026/join or call Phillip Kim, Esq. toll-free at 866-767-3653 or email [email protected] for information on the class action. A class action lawsuit has already been filed. If you wish to serve as lead plaintiff, you must move the Court no later than December 1, 2026. A lead plaintiff is a representative party acting on behalf of other class members in directing the litigation.

Why Rosen Law: We encourage investors to select qualified counsel with a track record of success in leadership roles. Often, firms issuing notices do not have comparable experience, resources, or any meaningful peer recognition. Many of these firms do not actually handle securities class actions, but are merely middlemen that refer clients or partner with law firms that actually litigate the cases. Be wise in selecting counsel. The Rosen Law Firm represents investors throughout the globe, concentrating its practice in securities class actions and shareholder derivative litigation. Rosen Law Firm has achieved the largest ever securities class action settlement against a Chinese Company. Rosen Law Firm was Ranked No. 1 by ISS Securities Class Action Services for number of securities class action settlements in 2017. The firm has been ranked in the top 4 each year since 2013 and has recovered billions of dollars for investors. In 2019 alone the firm secured over $438 million for investors. In 2020, founding partner Laurence Rosen was named by law360 as a Titan of Plaintiffs' Bar. Many of the firm's attorneys have been recognized by Lawdragon and Super Lawyers.

Details of the case: According to the lawsuit, throughout the Class Period, defendants made materially false and misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (1) the Gemini 3.5 Pro was delivering disappointing training results; (2) as a result, the launch of Gemini 3.5 Pro would be significantly delayed; and (3) as a result of the foregoing, defendants' positive statements about Alphabet's business, operations, and prospects were materially misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis. When the true details entered the market, the lawsuit claims that investors suffered damages.

To join the Alphabet Inc. class action, go to https://rosenlegal.com/cases/alphabet-inc-2026/join or call Phillip Kim, Esq. toll-free at 866-767-3653 or email [email protected] for information on the class action.

No Class Has Been Certified. Until a class is certified, you are not represented by counsel unless you retain one. You may select counsel of your choice. You may also remain an absent class member and do nothing at this point. An investor's ability to share in any potential future recovery is not dependent upon serving as lead plaintiff.

DICK'S SPORTING GOODS, INC. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT - COMPLAINT ALLEGATION SUMMARY:

The complaint alleges that, throughout the Class Period, Defendants made materially false and/or misleading statements, as well as failed to disclose material facts about the company's business, operations, and prospects. Specifically, Defendants failed to disclose to investors that: (1) DICK'S cleanup efforts concerning Foot Locker's inventory were not complete, and, in fact, Foot Locker remained saddled with unproductive and stagnant legacy footwear; (2) Foot Locker heavily relied on legacy footwear products that were particularly vulnerable to intensifying promotional pressures across the athletic footwear industry; (3) in turn, DICK'S was significantly exposed to an industry-wide environment of excess inventory and resulting promotional activity; (4) accordingly, DICK'S was unable to achieve the sales growth, margins, and profits it touted to investors; and (5) as a result, Defendants' statements about the company's business, operations, and prospects were materially false and misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis at all relevant times.

Why did DICK'S Stock Drop?

On August 25, 2026, before the markets opened, DICK'S announced disappointing second quarter 2026 financial results, including adjusted earnings per share and revenue from Foot Locker that fell well short of analyst estimates. DICK'S also reduced its full year 2026 consolidated net sales guidance. DICK'S attributed the poor results, in part, to the athletic footwear marketplace having become "increasingly promotional" and "inventory levels [] building up across parts of the industry, leading to a much more promotional environment" which negatively impacted Foot Locker's business. On this news, the price of DICK'S common stock declined $55.02 per share, or approximately 30.7%, from a close of $179.33 per share on August 24, 2026, to close at $124.31 per share on August 25, 2026.

WHAT DICK'S SPORTING GOODS, INC. INVESTORS CAN DO NOW:

- File to be lead plaintiff by November 3, 2026.

- Contact KTMC for a free case evaluation. All representation is on a contingency fee basis, there is no cost to you.

- Retain counsel of choice or take no action.

THE LEAD PLAINTIFF PROCESS FOR DICK'S SPORTING GOODS, INC. INVESTORS:

DICK'S investors may, no later than November 3, 2026, seek to be appointed as a lead plaintiff representative of the class through Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP or other counsel, or may choose to do nothing and remain an absent class member. A lead plaintiff is a representative party who acts on behalf of all class members in directing the litigation. The lead plaintiff is usually the investor or small group of investors who have the largest financial interest and who are also adequate and typical of the proposed class of investors. The lead plaintiff selects counsel to represent the lead plaintiff and the class and these attorneys, if approved by the court, are lead or class counsel. Your ability to share in any recovery is not affected by the decision of whether or not to serve as a lead plaintiff.

Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, LLP encourages DICK'S investors to contact the firm for more information.

UBCF and GGP (formerly Brookfield Properties) Launch 2026 Pink Bag Event Initiative

Nationwide Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Puts Comfort and Care into the Hands of Patients and Survivors

JONESBORO, Ark., Oct. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) is once again teaming up with GGP (formerly Brookfield Properties) for the 2026 UBCF-Brookfield Pink Bag Event Initiative, a national campaign aimed at supporting patients and survivors through community-based outreach and compassion.

The UBCF-GGP Pink Bag Events run from the end of September through early November. Timed to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month the Pink Bag Events are aiming to distribute over 13,500 curated "Pink Bag" care packages to women and men facing the physical, emotional, and financial challenges of a breast cancer diagnosis and recovery.

Each Pink Bag is filled with quality name brand items including personal care products, beauty tools, accessories, and practical essentials. Valued at more than $8,576,742.40 in total, these gifts are made possible through generous in-kind contributions from retail donors.

Now in its fifth consecutive year, the Pink Bag collaboration between UBCF and GGP has reached thousands of breast cancer patients and survivors across the country. These events not only provide much-needed comfort but also serve as opportunities to educate the public about prevention, screening, treatment options, and survivorship resources.

"We are extremely proud to share that we have surpassed our previous years' numbers", said Stephanie Mastroianni, Executive Director of UBCF. "Now in our fifth year, we are grateful to continue cultivating this relationship and look forward to expanding our partnership and growing our network even further."

The impact of breast cancer in the United States remains profound. Every two minutes, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, a disease that will affect 1 in 8 women in her lifetime. Though less common, men are not immune: this year, approximately 2,800 men will be diagnosed. These sobering figures are a reminder of the critical importance of early detection, education, and ongoing support â key components of UBCF's mission, to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer.

GGP continues to serve as a vital partner in this mission by hosting the Pink Bag Events at 28 of their shopping centers across the nation.

"Every year, we've watched our Pink Bag program grow into something our community really looks forward to," said Caryn Torres, Senior Vice President of Property Management at Brookfield Properties. "We're always looking for meaningful ways to give back, and this event is a chance for us to spread some joy, show our support, and help raise awareness in a way that really connects with people."

Early detection plays a pivotal role in saving lives. According to the American Cancer Society, when breast cancer is found in its earliest, localized stage, the five-year survival rate is an encouraging 99%. With over 4 million breast cancer survivors currently living in the U.S., there is hope â and organizations like UBCF are working daily to expand that hope to even more people.

Since its founding in 2000, UBCF has provided essential support services to women, men, and families impacted by breast cancer nationwide, including financial assistance, screening initiatives, and in-kind donations like Pink Bag Events. To learn more and join UBCF's mission of service, visit https://ubcf.org/

We would also like to invite you to join us for an unforgettable, prestigious evening dedicated to celebrating and advancing this vital mission. Our "Think Pink Gala" will take place November 20, 2026 at The Plaza in New York City. This is more than a gala; it is a gathering of hearts and minds committed to making a tangible difference. Tickets can be purchased at Think Pink Gala - United Breast Cancer Foundation.
