DR Flavors & Ingredients: 100 years of expertise in botanical ingredients for the global market

With an international presence and a leading position in the Brazilian market, the company brings together a century of expertise and a portfolio of standardized extracts, including guarana, acerola, and yerba mate, for use in food, beverages, and supplements.

JARAGUÁ DO SUL, Brazil, Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Demand for natural and functional ingredients is driving the industry to seek solutions that combine performance, quality, and consistency. In 2025, 41% of Americans said they look for "natural" claims when purchasing food and beverages, according to the International Food Information Council (IFIC). In this context, DR Flavors & Ingredients further strengthens its international presence with a portfolio of standardized extracts and dehydrated ingredients derived from a wide range of botanicals.

Highlights include guarana, acerola, and yerba mate—ingredients that reflect Brazil's biodiversity and the company's expertise in extraction, standardization, and developing solutions for the industry.

Native to the Amazon, guarana is naturally rich in methylxanthines such as caffeine and theobromine. DR has Brazil's largest installed capacity for producing liquid guarana extracts. It also offers powdered versions and ingredients with caffeine concentrations of up to 30%.

Acerola is the source of the Vitamin-Ace® portfolio, which includes extracts and dehydrated powders with concentrations of up to 40% natural vitamin C. With extensive control over the acerola supply chain, DR manages every stage, from sourcing through ingredient processing and standardization, ensuring traceability, supply security, and consistency from batch to batch. A highlight is Vitamin-Ace®40, the only ingredient in the world standardized at 40% natural vitamin C, available in carrier-free form.

Yerba mate has been part of the company's story for decades. A pioneer in developing technology to extract caffeine from the raw material, DR now offers the MateActive portfolio, with green and roasted extracts standardized for natural caffeine and chlorogenic acids.

Founded in Brazil in 1925 by German immigrants, DR Flavors & Ingredients combines supply chain expertise, innovation, extraction and standardization technologies to develop naturally derived ingredients with high standards of quality and consistency, as well as unique specifications. Today, the company has six R&D centers, six manufacturing facilities, and specialists in ingredients and sensory science. The company has sales offices in the United States, China, and Poland, serves customers in more than 70 markets, and operates under a global quality system with certifications including FSSC 22000, Kosher, Halal, and Organic.

In HelloNation, Staffing Expert Samantha White Explains Skilled Trades Careers

The Article Outlines Training and Certification Paths for Mechanics, CDL Drivers, and Oil and Gas Support Roles.

MIDLAND, Texas, Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What does it take to become a mechanic or a CDL driver? A HelloNation article answers that question, breaking down the training, certifications, and hands-on experience needed to enter skilled trades careers.

The article notes that skilled trades careers offer steady work and competitive pay for people who enjoy hands-on problem solving. Industries such as transportation, equipment maintenance, and energy production rely on trained workers to keep daily operations running.

Demand for mechanics, CDL drivers, and equipment technicians remains strong nationwide, according to the article. Mechanics inspect, repair, and maintain vehicles and heavy equipment used across construction, agriculture, and energy production.

CDL drivers move goods between job sites, warehouses, and distribution centers, making them essential to nearly every supply chain, the article explains. Equipment technicians diagnose mechanical issues and help extend the life of expensive machinery.

In oil and gas production, equipment failure can halt operations, so qualified technicians play a critical role on site. The article adds that these roles offer more job stability than many people expect, even during economic slowdowns.

The article's insights come from Staffing Expert Samantha White of Express Employment Professionals in Midland, Texas. The article emphasizes that this consistent demand makes skilled trades careers an attractive option for workers seeking long-term job security.

Becoming a mechanic typically starts with classroom instruction paired with hands-on training, the article explains. Many mechanics complete a certificate or associate degree program through a technical school or community college, while others train as apprentices.

Employers typically look for candidates who understand basic mechanical systems and feel comfortable using diagnostic tools, the article notes. Physical stamina and attention to detail often separate strong candidates from the rest.

CDL driver qualifications differ from those of a mechanic, the article points out. Drivers must obtain a commercial driver license through their state, which involves passing written knowledge tests and a skills test behind the wheel.

Training programs for CDL drivers typically last several weeks and combine classroom learning with supervised driving practice. Many trucking companies offer training assistance or tuition reimbursement, the article notes, to help new drivers enter the field.

Oil and gas support roles extend well beyond the drilling rig, the article explains. Field service technicians maintain pumps and compressors, welders repair components, and logistics coordinators manage the movement of materials across job sites.

Safety training is a common thread across nearly every oil and gas support position, according to the article. Workers often complete certifications covering hazard recognition and emergency response before setting foot on site.

The article notes that a mechanic may advance into a lead technician or shop supervisor role after several years of experience. It adds that a CDL driver might move into dispatch, safety coordination, or fleet management over time.

Equipment technicians can specialize in a particular type of machinery, increasing their value to employers, the article notes. Pay in these fields often rises steadily with experience and certification level.

Job seekers should research state and industry requirements before choosing a path, the article advises. Speaking with people already working in the field can also provide useful insight into daily expectations and long-term opportunities.

The article notes that a staffing partner familiar with skilled trades can help connect job seekers with employers who value their certifications and experience. Staffing Expert Samantha White is featured in the article as a source of insight on skilled trades hiring in the Midland area.

How to Start a Career as a Mechanic or CDL Driver features insights from Samantha White, Staffing Expert of Midland, Texas, in HelloNation.

New EEI Report Shows How Electric Companies Are Supporting Customers, Helping Families Manage Energy Costs

New report showcases customer assistance programs and energy-saving initiatives

WASHINGTON, Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) released Powering Customer Savings: Helping Residential Customers Save on Energy Costs, a report showcasing how America's investor-owned electric companies are helping customers through bill assistance, energy-saving programs, and innovative affordability initiatives.

The report highlights how electric companies are putting affordability programs into action, providing immediate financial relief, helping customers lower and manage their energy use, and bringing assistance directly into the communities they serve.

"America's investor-owned electric companies are focused on keeping electricity reliable and as affordable as possible," said Drew Maloney, president and CEO of EEI. "We've heard from customers, and we understand the financial pressure many families are feeling right now. That's why our members are investing in programs — from bill assistance to energy efficiency — that make a real, measurable difference in their communities."

The report showcases efforts such as:

- Direct financial relief: Exelon's Customer Relief Fund, FPL's Saving Steps, PG&E's bill credits and discounts, Hawaiian Electric's disaster-related bill credits, Georgia Power's annual customer savings, and Duke Energy's Share the Light.

- Home upgrades and energy efficiency: Ameren's Efficiency is for Everyone campaign, Dominion Energy's EnergyShare, Duke Energy's weatherization services, and FPL's Community Energy Saver.

- Flexible bill management and customer education: Entergy's Bill Toolkit, Alabama Power's TempCheck and Energy Answers, American Electric Power subsidiary Indiana Michigan Power's Bill Support Center, APS' Let's Talk and Straight Talk, and personalized energy tools from SDG&E.

- Community-based access to assistance: Puget Sound Energy partners with libraries, food banks, Tribal communities, affordable housing providers, and other trusted local organizations while offering multilingual support, paper applications, and one-on-one enrollment assistance. Other efforts include National Grid's Consumer Advocacy team and Mississippi Power's benefits screener developed with Single Stop.

- Customer-driven energy savings: OG&E programs including SmartHours and Energy Insights, Portland General Electric's Flex Power campaign, Xcel Energy's assistance, efficiency, and customer education initiatives, and PG&E's Energy Action Guide and SmartRate program.

Addressing the Drivers of Rising Costs

The report also highlights how EEI and our member companies are working to address the underlying drivers of higher energy costs. These efforts include advocating for permitting reform to help bring new energy supply online more quickly, investing in a more resilient electric grid, and ensuring that large new electricity users contribute their fair share to the infrastructure needed to serve them.

Electric companies are also working to make bills more transparent and to reduce charges they don't control. In many states, taxes, fees, and government-set surcharges account for a significant portion of a customer's bill. Companies are responding by clarifying how bills are broken down and advocating to lower these charges, from PPL's push to repeal Pennsylvania's gross receipts tax (about $12/month in savings) to a recently approved reduction in Connecticut's public benefits charge (a projected $30–$34/month).

Supporting LIHEAP

For many families, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is also a vital source of aid. Each year, electric companies help eligible customers enroll in LIHEAP, contribute millions of dollars in direct support to energy assistance programs for vulnerable customers, and provide access to home weatherization programs.

The need for LIHEAP remains critical nationwide, and EEI, our member companies, and our industry partners are committed to helping policymakers recognize just how essential this program is to eligible Americans. Electricity customers looking for assistance can visit eei.org/affordability for more information about local resources that may be available in their community, including LIHEAP eligibility.

The report is available at https://www.eei.org/customer-programs.

EEI is the association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Our members provide safe, reliable electricity for nearly 250 million Americans, and operate in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Collectively, the electric power industry supports more than 7 million jobs in communities across the United States and drives economic growth and prosperity. EEI also includes hundreds of industry suppliers and related organizations as Associate Members.

In the news release, Adapt Launches Late Pay Agent to Put Payment Collection on Autopilot, issued 22-Sep-2026 by Adapt over PR Newswire, the release has been reissued with revisions. The complete, corrected release follows:

Adapt Launches Late Pay Agent to Put Payment Collection on Autopilot

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Adapt, the leading automation platform for insurance, today announced the launch of the Late Pay Agent, an autonomous agent that helps P&C insurance agencies prevent cancellations for non-payment.

Most agencies follow up with late-pay customers manually and don't have a repeatable process they can hand to a new employee. The Late Pay Agent removes interruptions from the agency's day-to-day by automating the entire late-pay chase.

- Agencies spend significantly less time chasing late payments, so they can focus on higher-value tasks. Adapt runs the outreach until a payment is recorded, so nobody has to remember to stop the sequence. With the Late Pay Agent, agencies have seen a 63% reduction in suspense volume landing on their desks.

- Agencies get every step documented, lowering E&O risk: each message sent and received is recorded in the agency's management system.

- Agencies maintain their communication standards with their customers: Adapt sends every email from the agency's own mailbox; texts and calls come from the agency's phone number. Agencies can choose which customer segments to include.

Agencies only pay when their customers do

Adapt charges per payment resolved, however many emails, texts and calls it takes. If the insured pays before Adapt reaches out or if the policy ends up canceling, there's no charge.

"Agencies win on service, and service is capped by how many hours account managers have. Chasing late payments is thankless work, and it's also what keeps a customer insured. The Late Pay Agent takes it on and works every case until the premium is paid." — Jacob Simon, founder of Adapt

Up to 93% of policies saved before they lapse

Agencies with a consistent late-pay process lose 5.1 times fewer policies to non-payment. The Late Pay Agent closes that gap, saving up to 93% of the policies that reach a pending cancellation.

The Late Pay Agent gives account managers and CSRs back more than an hour a day previously spent chasing pending cancellations, enabling them to focus on higher-leverage work.

"It's essentially giving us another employee. Adapt's Late Pay Agent has made a process less onerous." - Elaine Giuliani, Director of Personal Lines, Latitude Insurance

Adapt's core products eliminate the need for agencies to log in to carrier portals, automating the mail process. The Late Pay Agent takes the next step, working each pending cancellation through to resolution.

Africa Business and Human Rights Forum Concludes in Dakar with Call for Stronger Action on Human Rights and the Environment

Fifth regional Forum brings together governments, business, civil society and the UN to advance responsible business conduct across Africa.

NEW YORK, Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The fifth Africa Business and Human Rights (BHR) Forum concluded today in Dakar, Senegal, bringing together governments, businesses, the UN, civil society, workers' representatives, human rights experts and indigenous communities to accelerate responsible business conduct and strengthen the protection of human rights across the continent.

Held from 29 September to 1 October under the theme "Realizing the Right to a Clean, Healthy and Sustainable Environment through Responsible Business Conduct," the three-day Forum focused on the growing intersection between business, human rights and environmental sustainability, and the practical action needed to protect people and the planet while supporting sustainable economic development.

The Forum was co-organized by the United Nations Global Compact, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights, the UN Human Rights Office (OHCHR), UNICEF and the African Commission on Human and People's Rights (ACHPR).

Marking its fifth edition, the Forum has become an important regional platform for advancing dialogue and action on business and human rights in Africa, a region estimated to lose approximately US$195 billion each year as a result of environmental degradation, illicit financial flows and unsustainable resource use.

At the same time, countries across the continent are strengthening frameworks for responsible business conduct, including through the development and adoption of National Action Plans on Business and Human Rights in Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Liberia, Ghana and soon-to-come, Malawi.

From commitments to implementation

Across three days of discussions, participants focused on practical approaches to strengthen business respect for human rights and environmental sustainability, with particular emphasis on:

- Human rights and environmental due diligence: strengthening companies' ability to identify, prevent, mitigate and account for adverse human rights and environmental impacts across their operations and value chains.

- Water, sanitation, hygiene and land rights: addressing the impact of business activity on access to safe water, sanitation, hygiene and land, particularly for women and vulnerable and marginalized communities.

- A just transition: exploring how Africa can harness its significant natural resources (30 per cent of the world's known critical mineral reserves) while ensuring that the transition to greener economies is just, inclusive and grounded in human rights.

- Access to remedy: strengthening effective mechanisms through which people affected by business-related human rights abuses can seek redress, while ensuring affected communities have a meaningful voice in decisions that shape their lives and livelihoods.

Key outcomes

The Forum identified a number of priorities for continued action, including:

- Enforcement and accountability: business commitments, National Action Plans and regulations must translate into real outcomes for people and the planet.

- Beyond compliance: all actors must think beyond compliance. Human dignity must center decision making — meeting minimum thresholds is not enough.

- Collaboration must deliver: no singular entity holds the solution. Systemic challenges need systemic solutions.

- Achieving the right to a healthy, clean and sustainable environment and the just transition is only possible through real partnership across sectors and meaningful engagement of rightsholders, especially the most vulnerable.

- Proportionate benefits: Africa is at the center of the global technological and green transition. Governments and economies must deliver fair, equitable, accessible and inclusive benefits for African peoples and avoid exploitative and harmful impacts on the environment and communities.

- Policies and regulations must be coupled with enforcement and accountability. A Just Transition cannot be decoupled from access to effective remedies for victims.

Speaking at the opening of the Forum, HE Moussa Sarr, Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals of Senegal, announced that the country's National Action Plan is under final review and underscored the importance of operationalizing human rights frameworks: "A right without a judge remains a promise. To build a resilient and equitable economy across Africa, responsible corporate conduct cannot remain theoretical — it requires accessible, effective remedy and judicial protections that uphold human dignity and safeguard our environment."

Hervé Lado, Head of the Africa Hub at the United Nations Global Compact, said: "Harms to people and to nature are deeply intertwined, which is why corporate respect for human rights and environmental protection must go hand in hand. As the region advances energy transition and intra-Africa trade, responsible business conduct is vital for workers and communities. Every year, the Global Compact equips hundreds of companies across the continent to implement human rights due diligence, moving from commitments to practical solutions and positive impacts on the ground."

The 2026 Africa Business and Human Rights Forum was delivered as a hybrid event, enabling both in-person and virtual participation for 1,100+ delegates, including 21% business representatives, from 45 African countries, especially Senegal, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, DR Congo, Nigeria, Tanzania and Ghana.

Roofing Expert Jesse Curry Explains Storm Damage, Roof Leaks, Missing Shingles, Damaged Flashing, and Water Stains in HelloNation

The article helps Florida homeowners recognize common signs of roof damage before minor issues become major repairs.

SARASOTA, Fla., Oct. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Storms can pass in a matter of hours, but how long can hidden roof damage remain unnoticed? Insights featured in a HelloNation article from Roofing Expert Jesse Curry of Roofing by Curry in Sarasota, Florida, explain why Florida homeowners should remain alert for warning signs even after severe weather appears to have passed.

The article notes that strong winds, heavy rain, tropical storms, and hurricanes place significant stress on roofing systems throughout the year. While some forms of storm damage are immediately visible, other problems may remain hidden for weeks or even months. Understanding the signs of storm damage and the early indicators of roof leaks can help homeowners address concerns before they become more serious and costly.

Many homeowners begin their post-storm inspections by looking for obvious damage, such as fallen tree limbs or missing shingles. According to the article, however, severe weather often causes damage that cannot be identified from the ground. High winds may loosen roofing materials, damage flashing, or create small openings that allow water to enter the home. Even when a roof appears intact, hidden storm damage may still exist beneath the surface.

One of the most common consequences of storm damage is the development of roof leaks. The article explains that water can enter through damaged shingles, compromised flashing, or sections of roofing that have been lifted by wind. In many cases, roof leaks do not appear immediately because water can travel through attics and structural components before becoming visible inside the home.

Water stains are often among the earliest signs that moisture intrusion is occurring. The article describes discoloration on ceilings, walls, or around light fixtures as a common indicator that water may be entering the home. While water stains may initially appear small, they often expand as moisture continues to penetrate the roofing system. Addressing these warning signs promptly can help prevent more extensive damage.

The article also highlights damaged flashing as a frequent result of severe weather. Flashing helps direct water away from vulnerable areas such as chimneys, skylights, vents, and roof valleys. Strong winds and airborne debris can bend, loosen, or separate flashing from the roof surface. When damaged flashing is present, water may gain access to areas that would normally remain protected.

Missing shingles remain one of the most recognizable signs of storm damage. Because shingles provide critical protection against moisture and weather exposure, even a relatively small area of missing shingles can leave underlying roofing materials vulnerable. The article encourages homeowners to inspect their property from a safe distance following major storms and watch for signs that roofing materials have been displaced.

Florida homeowners face unique challenges because the state's frequent rain and high humidity can accelerate moisture-related deterioration. The article explains that roof leaks that initially seem minor can eventually contribute to damaged insulation, stained interior finishes, and the gradual deterioration of structural materials. Early identification of storm damage can help reduce the likelihood of larger repairs in the future.

Another important recommendation discussed in the article is documenting visible storm damage. Homeowners are encouraged to photograph missing shingles, damaged flashing, water stains, and any debris that may have impacted the roof. Maintaining a record of conditions following severe weather can be valuable when discussing repairs and assessing the extent of damage.

The article also emphasizes the value of professional evaluations. Roofing professionals can identify storm damage that may not be apparent during a visual inspection from the ground. By examining roofing materials, flashing, and potential roof leaks more closely, professionals can help homeowners understand the condition of their roof and make informed decisions about repairs.

The article concludes that while severe weather is an unavoidable reality for Florida homeowners, understanding the warning signs of storm damage can help limit long-term consequences. Monitoring for roof leaks, missing shingles, damaged flashing, and water stains after major storms allows homeowners to respond quickly and better protect their property from ongoing moisture-related damage.

What Florida Homeowners Need to Know About Storm Damage and Roof Leaks features insights from Jesse Curry, Roofing Expert of Sarasota, Florida, in HelloNation.
