Week of Service erstmals weltweit, in Deutschland beim Schulfrühstück in Puchheim

Puchheim (ots)

Deutschland: Schulfrühstück in Puchheim

Boeing and Icelease Sign Agreement for up to Three 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighters

- Agreement covers conversion of one 767-300BCF aircraft and secures options for two more

PLANO, Texas, Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Icelease agreed to an order for one 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighter (BCF) and options for up to two more as the leasing company continues to grow its freighter portfolio.

Induction of the first aircraft is scheduled for Q1 2027, with delivery of the converted aircraft expected in Q2 2027. Boeing will convert the airplanes at ST Engineering's airframe MRO facilities in Singapore.

"This agreement with Boeing to convert up to three Boeing 767 aircraft marks an important milestone for both Icelease and its Dublin-based sister company IAT Leasing," said Sigthor Einarsson, Managing Partner, Icelease. "The history between Icelease and Boeing dates over 20 years and includes a multitude of new aircraft deliveries as well as cargo conversions. The Boeing 767-300BCF will join the growing managed cargo aircraft portfolio of IAT Leasing, which already includes seven Boeing 737-800BCF and other freighters leased to various customers."

"Icelease is an important partner for our Boeing Converted Freighter programs, and this agreement underlines our continued collaboration to meet global cargo demand," said Lindsey Douglas, vice president, Cabin, Modifications, Maintenance and Digital Services. "The 767-300BCF is a proven performer in the cargo industry, and we are confident it will continue to deliver value for many years to come."

Boeing and Icelease marked the occasion with a signing ceremony on Oct. 22, 2026 at Cargo Facts Symposium. The 767-300BCF is the world's most efficient medium widebody converted freighter and has a range of 3,300 nmi with a 57-tonne payload.

Yaamava' maintains its standing as the only AAA Five-Diamond casino resort with designation earned by fewer than 1% of nearly 23,000 AAA-inspected hotels

HIGHLAND, Calif., Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- For a third consecutive year, Yaamava' Resort & Casino at San Manuel has retained the prestigious AAA Five Diamond designation, an honor earned by fewer than 1% of nearly 23,000 AAA-inspected hotels. Yaamava' remains the only AAA Five-Diamond casino resort in the United States, a distinction that reflects its unwavering commitment to luxury, personalized service and exceptional guest experiences.

Awarded to a select group of hotels that exemplify the highest standards of hospitality, the AAA Five-Diamond designation recognizes properties that deliver exceptional accommodations, elevated amenities and meticulous service. To earn and maintain the distinction, hotels undergo rigorous, unannounced evaluations conducted by AAA inspectors, who assess every aspect of the guest experience.

"Inspired by the enduring commitment the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation has demonstrated in stewarding this enterprise, this recognition reflects the dedication and passion our team members have brought to every guest interaction over the past 40 years," said Kenji Hall, General Manager of Yaamava' Resort & Casino at San Manuel. "Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation has long invested in creating a world-class destination for our guests, and maintaining our AAA Five-Diamond status for a third consecutive year reflects that commitment to excellence, exceptional hospitality and unforgettable experiences."

Further underscoring its standing among the nation's elite hospitality destinations, Yaamava' was recently ranked No. 2 among casino hotels nationwide in AAA's 2026 Diamond Top 10 list. The annual ranking recognizes the highest-rated hotels in each category, as determined by AAA inspectors through year-round, in-person evaluations that assess properties against the organization's rigorous Diamond standards.

The redesignation marks another milestone in a banner year for the resort, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in July and continued to earn national recognition across the gaming, hospitality and entertainment industries.

Among its recent accolades, Yaamava' was named Property of the Year at the 2026 Global Gaming Awards Americas, while Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, received Responsible Business of the Year honors. At the International Entertainment Buyers Association Conference, Yaamava' earned the Casino of the Year award, and Vice President of Entertainment Drew Dixon was named Casino Buyer of the Year.

Yaamava' also led the 2026 USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards, earning top honors for Best Casino Outside of Las Vegas, Best Casino Hotel, Best Casino Restaurant, Best Casino for Slots and Best Players Club, while sister property Palms Casino Resort was named Best Casino in Las Vegas for the third consecutive year.

Cineverse Nominates Dr. Samrat Ganguly for Election to Board of Directors

Former Apple global infrastructure leader, technology founder behind Cineverse's Matchpoint® platform, and AI infrastructure entrepreneur nominated to join the Board as Cineverse advances its next phase of technology and platform innovation.

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Cineverse Corp. (Nasdaq: CNVS) ("Cineverse" or the "Company"), an entertainment technology company and studio, announced the nomination for election to its Board of Directors of Dr. Samrat Ganguly at Cineverse's upcoming annual meeting of stockholders on December 8, 2026. Dr. Ganguly spent more than a decade at Apple, most recently as head of the Company's global network infrastructure organization, where he was responsible for the architecture, engineering and operations of the network and security infrastructure behind iCloud, Apple TV, the App Store and the broader Apple services ecosystem. He recently left Apple to found a new company, currently operating in stealth, that is building the global infrastructure required to deploy and scale next-generation AI inference services. If elected, he will serve as an independent director.

The nomination is a deliberate step in Cineverse's strategy to become the technology platform on which studios, streamers and device makers prepare, distribute and monetize content at scale. The Company's Matchpoint® platform runs Cineverse's entire studio operation, has distributed more than 60,000 titles, and powers more than 120 apps and 20 FAST channels, alongside a growing roster of major studio, broadcaster and connected-TV enterprise customers. Dr. Ganguly brings a combination few directors anywhere can offer: operating experience at a hyperscaler; founder-level knowledge of Cineverse's own technology; and an active practice at the frontier of AI infrastructure.

"Samrat has built and operated infrastructure at a scale that almost no one in our industry has ever touched, and he understands our technology better than anyone outside the company because his team helped create it," said Chris McGurk, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cineverse. "Our strategy is clear: Cineverse is an entertainment technology company and studio, and we are building the platform on which the industry's content supply chain and monetization can run, automated, at scale and at a fraction of the cost of legacy approaches. Delivering on that requires board-level expertise in hyperscale architecture, operating discipline and applied AI. Samrat has done all three at Apple and is doing them again in his new venture. His appointment gives our team and our shareholders a director who will hold our technology roadmap, our automation agenda and our AI investments to the highest standard in the world."

"Matchpoint began as a platform my team co-developed, and today it runs Cineverse's entire studio operation, from content preparation and delivery through monetization and performance data," said Dr. Ganguly. "Chris and the management team have proven something the industry is only beginning to understand: a media business built on modern, automated infrastructure can operate at a fraction of traditional cost, and it can do so with real financial discipline. The same shift that remade computing over the last fifteen years, from hand-built systems to software-defined, AI-driven infrastructure, is now coming to how content is produced, distributed and monetized, and the companies that own the infrastructure layer will capture the value. Cineverse is early and well positioned. I look forward to working with the Board and management to scale it."

At Apple, Dr. Ganguly led the organization responsible for the network and security foundation of Apple's global cloud and services infrastructure, serving more than two billion active devices worldwide. He set the strategic and architectural direction, drove engineering execution and global operations, and shaped long-term investments in the infrastructure supporting Apple's cloud and services ecosystem.

In 2013, Dr. Ganguly founded FoundationTV and served as Chief Executive Officer, pioneering a cloud-native platform spanning streaming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics. The company co-developed Matchpoint, a high-scale streaming platform engineered to support up to 100 billion events per day. FoundationTV was acquired by Cineverse (then Cinedigm) in 2021, with its engineering team becoming the foundation of Cineverse India, the Company's engineering and R&D hub. Matchpoint subsequently became the technology backbone of Cineverse's streaming and content distribution business.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Ganguly served as Chief Architect at NEC Corporation of America, where he was a pioneer in the early commercialization of software-defined networking, a foundational technology underlying today's hyperscale cloud infrastructure. He began his career in computer networking and distributed systems research, ultimately leading a team of researchers at NEC Laboratories America in Princeton.

Dr. Ganguly holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rutgers University, an M.E. from the Indian Institute of Science, and a B.S. from the Indian Institute of Technology. His research has resulted in more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in computer networking and distributed systems and over 4,000 citations. He is the co-author of *VoIP: Wireless, P2P and New Enterprise Voice over IP* (Wiley, 2008) and a named inventor on dozens of U.S. patents in networking, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.

The size of the Board of Directors will remain at four. Mary Ann Halford will not stand for re-election at the annual meeting of stockholders.

On-device streaming speech recognition and text-to-speech for low-power edge devices; Niagara ASR to be demonstrated in the Alif Semiconductor booth at electronica 2026 in Munich

WATERLOO, ON, Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Brain Research (ABR) today announced the general availability of its speech AI software development kit (SDK) on Zephyr RTOS for the Alif Semiconductor Ensemble® family of edge AI processors. The SDK brings the most capable streaming speech recognition available, together with natural-sounding text-to-speech, running entirely on-device with no cloud connection required.

The SDK combines:

- Niagara ASR: full-vocabulary streaming speech recognition with low latency, continuously transcribing speech as it is spoken.

- Nith TTS: natural-sounding, low-latency streaming speech synthesis.

- Native Zephyr RTOS support for battery-powered and air-gapped products.

- Support for ongoing model updates and expansion.

Voice interfaces on small devices have typically depended on a cloud connection or a larger application processor. ABR's state space model technology brings capable speech AI within the power and memory budgets of microcontroller-class silicon. On the Ensemble E8, Niagara ASR achieves 133 ms for first-audio to first-token average latency while consuming only 15 mW of active power above baseline, enabling always-available voice on devices where battery life is critical.

"The Alif Ensemble family pairs the low power that edge devices demand with the AI performance to run speech workloads in real time," said Kevin Conley, CEO of Applied Brain Research. "Using these capabilities, we achieved stunning real-time performance at incredibly low power consumption. With our SDK now available on Zephyr, this is a notable milestone for what developers can do on a microcontroller-class platform."

"Zephyr is increasingly the platform of choice for our customers, and voice is one of the most requested capabilities for battery-powered devices," said Mark Rootz, Vice President of Marketing at Alif Semiconductor. "ABR's SDK gives Ensemble developers a production-ready path to on-device speech recognition and text-to-speech, and we are pleased to show it running in our booth at electronica."

Availability and demonstration

The ABR SDK for Zephyr RTOS on the Alif Ensemble family is available now. Developers can register for an account and obtain a free evaluation license at dev.appliedbrainresearch.com. Niagara ASR will be demonstrated running live on the Ensemble E8 in the Alif Semiconductor booth, C5.170, at electronica 2026, November 10â13, Messe München.

Airwaves a Wireless Carrier Sold in August Are Now Part of a Satellite Operator's Mobile Plans
Image File
Original HTML

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Fly on Wall Street News Commentary - Connecting ordinary phones to satellites is turning into a contest over airwaves. During October, SpaceX said federal regulators approved its next-generation Starlink Mobile constellation, agreed to buy a nationwide block of 800 MHz licenses that T-Mobile sold earlier this year, and reported its third-quarter results, while AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile reported their own quarters between October 21 and October 28. Active Companies from around the markets with current developments this week include: Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: SPCX), T-Mobile US, Inc. (NASDAQ: TMUS), Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE, NASDAQ: VZ), AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), Iridium Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: IRDM).

In an October 8 update, SpaceX said it had agreed to acquire a nationwide portfolio of low-band licenses covering up to 14 megahertz of paired spectrum in the 800 MHz band. By SpaceX's account, its global 2 GHz mid-band spectrum will carry high-bandwidth capacity in the United States, and the new low-band airwaves will add a coverage layer so the Starlink Mobile signal can penetrate obstacles like walls and serve customers' devices inside buildings; the company added that the band is already supported by most existing mobile devices. The same update said the Federal Communications Commission approved the Starlink Mobile Gen2 constellation application, authorizing SpaceX to launch 15,000 satellites optimized for 2 GHz spectrum globally. The FCC's Authorization and Order, adopted and released October 6 by its Space Bureau and Wireless Telecommunications Bureau, is marked granted in part and deferred in part, with conditions; among the deferred items is SpaceX's proposed use of the 2020-2025 MHz band in the United States. The update does not state a purchase price for the licenses, and SpaceX's third-quarter release says the transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory and other customary closing conditions.

The licenses came from T-Mobile. According to T-Mobile's quarterly report filed October 28, the carrier completed the sale of its 800 MHz spectrum licenses to affiliates of Grain Management, LLC on August 10, 2026, receiving $2.9 billion in cash plus Grain's 600 MHz spectrum licenses, valued at $690 million, for total consideration of $3.6 billion. Under the deal, T-Mobile is entitled to a 50% share of future proceeds from Grain transactions that monetize the 800 MHz licenses, above Grain's invested capital, certain expenses and a specified return on its investment. The filing states that Grain signed a purchase and sale agreement for those licenses with Space Exploration Technologies Corp. on October 8, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, and that T-Mobile has not recognized an associated gain for this potential additional consideration.

Carrier shares fell sharply the next trading day. On Friday, October 9, T-Mobile closed at $148.58, down 13.27% from its October 8 close of $171.31. Verizon closed at $41.65 and AT&T at $22.18 on a day both stocks went ex-dividend; adjusted for those dividends, the declines were 8.75% and 9.81%. SpaceX rose 1.25% to $162.57. The three carriers already have a joint venture of their own aimed at satellite service: the same T-Mobile filing says it was formed with AT&T and Verizon on September 14 to pool certain spectrum resources, adding capacity and helping satellite providers reach more customers on a single unified platform, with the goal of ending wireless dead zones across the U.S., rural areas included. Last Friday, October 30, T-Mobile closed at $156.44, up 6.21% on the day, and SpaceX closed at $134.72, down 6.37%.

Sessions like October 9, when three carrier stocks each dropped more than 8%, show why it helps to read the chart as well as the headline. The free Knowledge is Power guide from Stock Preachers, available at FlyonWallStreet.com, walks through how to line up news like this with what price and volume are showing.

In other industry developments and happenings in the market this week include:

Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: SPCX)

SpaceX reported on October 20 third-quarter revenues of $14.6 billion, up 161% from $5.6 billion, net income of $4.4 billion compared with a net loss of $1.1 billion a year earlier, and Adjusted EBITDA of $8.8 billion. Connectivity revenues were $5.2 billion, up 69% year-over-year, and the company reached 13.6 million Starlink consumer subscribers as of September 30, 2026, up 1.6 million sequentially. The release also highlights the company's first revenue-generating Starship mission, which delivered 26 Starlink V3 satellites to its broadband constellation, and lists the 800 MHz agreement as a step to advance its Starlink Mobile strategy.

T-Mobile US, Inc. (NASDAQ: TMUS)

T-Mobile reported on October 28 third-quarter service revenues of $19.4 billion, up 6% year-over-year, net income of $3.5 billion, up 27%, and diluted earnings per share of $3.22, up 34%. Postpaid net account additions were 274 thousand, bringing total postpaid accounts to 35.0 million, and postpaid average revenue per account grew 4% to $155.73. The company raised its guidance at the midpoint for Core Adjusted EBITDA, which it expects between $37.35 billion and $37.45 billion, and for Adjusted Free Cash Flow, now expected between $18.7 billion and $18.8 billion.

Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE, NASDAQ: VZ)

Verizon reported on October 26 third-quarter postpaid phone net additions of 406,000, which it called its strongest third-quarter performance in five years, along with 137,000 postpaid net account additions. Mobility and broadband service revenue of $23.5 billion grew 2.9% year-over-year, and the company delivered 314,000 broadband net additions, including 159,000 fixed wireless access and 155,000 fiber. Verizon raised full-year 2026 guidance for key metrics for the third consecutive quarter, now calling for 1.1 million to 1.2 million postpaid phone net additions, and signed an agreement valued at $2.0+ billion with AWS to scale distributed compute for agentic and generative AI workloads.

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T)

AT&T reported on October 21 third-quarter revenues of $32.3 billion, up 5.3% year over year, with 379,000 postpaid phone net adds, postpaid phone churn of 0.92%, and 769,000 Advanced Connectivity internet net adds, a record quarter, including 442,000 fiber and 327,000 fixed wireless. Total debt was $159.6 billion and net debt was $149.8 billion at quarter end, both reflecting a sequential increase related to the closing of the EchoStar spectrum transaction. AT&T agreed on October 13 to sell its Mexico wireless business, applied held-for-sale accounting as of September 30 and recorded a non-cash impairment charge of $2.6 billion that did not affect third-quarter segment results, and it increased its outlook for 2026 adjusted EPS, which it now expects in the $2.40 range.

Iridium Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: IRDM)

Iridium reported on October 20 third-quarter total revenue of $245.7 million, up 8%, and net income of $106.9 million, or $0.98 per diluted share, an increase the company attributed primarily to a $103.9 million gain related to its acquisition of Aireon, completed on July 2. Total billable subscribers reached 2,696,000, up 6% year-over-year and led by commercial Internet of Things growth. Stockholders approved the pending acquisition of Iridium by Rocket Lab Corporation on September 24, with completion expected by mid-2027, subject to remaining regulatory approvals and closing conditions. The company says it is advancing direct-to-device communications based on open standards, and its board plans to raise the quarterly dividend to $0.16 per share starting with the fourth quarter 2026 dividend.

With the 800 MHz transaction still subject to regulatory approval and expected to close in the first half of 2027, satellite and carrier stocks have more filings and decisions ahead.
