Mon 10th Aug 2026 | Posted by Melissa Wright, on General, News,

Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP partner Pavithra Rajesh has been named a 2026 in the Securities category. Law360 announced the 2026 class on August 2, 2026, recognizing more than 160 attorneys under 40 across dozens of practice areas in the seventeenth year of the program.

Rising Stars are selected by Law360’s editorial staff from submissions detailing an attorney’s most significant matters, with each practice-area category reviewed by editors experienced in that field.

Congratulations, Pavithra.

About Pavithra’s practice

Ms. Rajesh is a partner in the Firm’s Los Angeles office. Her work centers on fact development and pre-litigation investigation — the groundwork that determines whether a securities case survives a motion to dismiss — and on shaping the legal theories underlying the Firm’s securities, derivative, and privacy matters.

Ms. Rajesh worked on Camelot Event Driven Fund v. Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC — a Securities Act class action arising from ViacomCBS’s March 2021 stock offerings — from the case’s inception through the $120 million settlement the court approved in August 2025. She contributed to the motion to dismiss and class certification briefing, played a substantial role in drafting the appellate briefs on both rulings, and helped shape litigation strategy for the motions and the depositions.

She earned her J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where she served as an Associate Editor of the UCLA Law Review, and holds a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Before joining the Firm, she served as a judicial extern in the Patent Pilot Program in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

Local 396 Raises Bar for So-Cal Sanitation Industry, Continues to Bargain More Contracts

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A group of 700 Waste Management workers in Los Angeles and Orange counties represented by Teamsters Local 396 have ratified a new collective bargaining agreement. This victory comes soon after 1,900 Republic Services Teamsters from Local 396 ratified their own contract.

"Congratulations to the rank-and-file Teamsters whose engagement and energy were key to securing such a strong contract," said Victor Mineros, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 396 and Director of the Teamsters Solid Waste and Recycling Division. "But the job's not done yet. Local 396 is still working tirelessly to secure new agreements for our members at other haulers in the area that are just as strong as this one."

Local 396 continues to bargain new contracts for hundreds of workers at regional haulers including WARE Disposal, Athens Services, CR&R, and Park Disposal.

"This win did not come easily. Waste Management is a massive corporation and has tons of money to throw around to try and weaken us and our union," said Luis Isordia, a relief driver at Waste Management. "But our employer's money was no match for Teamsters solidarity. I am very proud of my co-workers for coming together to win a deal that gives us respect both on and off the clock."

Waste Management is the largest sanitation corporation in America, raking in $25.2 billion last year. The Teamsters Union represents thousands of Waste Management workers across the country.

Founded in 1903, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters represents 1.3 million hardworking people in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Visit Teamster.org for more information. Follow us on X @Teamsters and on Facebook at Facebook.com/teamsters.

How are lawyers selected to the Super Lawyers list?

Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, is a rating service that identifies lawyers across more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selection is made annually through a patented multiphase process: a statewide peer nomination survey, independent research evaluation of candidates against indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement, and peer review by practice area. Candidates are compared within firm-size categories, and Super Lawyers verifies each selectee’s standing with the state licensing authority before publication. The complete methodology is published at superlawyers.com/about/selection-process.

When is the 2027 Southern California Super Lawyers list published?

The 2027 Southern California Super Lawyers list is scheduled for publication in Super Lawyers Magazine on February 19, 2027. Selected attorneys were notified beginning July 25, 2026.

PlayPower and BCI Burke Announce Mutual Termination of Merger Agreement

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. and FOND DU LAC, Wis., Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- PlayPower and BCI Burke today announced the termination of their merger agreement previously announced on February 13, 2026. The decision to terminate the agreement follows the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's ("FTC") and certain States' lawsuit filed October 19, 2026, seeking a permanent injunction to block the acquisition.

"The trust of the families and communities we serve has always been at the heart of our business, as we provide children meaningful spaces and experiences to play and grow together," said PlayPower CEO Bryan Yeazel. "While we continue to believe that this combination would have protected American jobs and delivered significant benefits to families, workers and their communities, the time and expense required for long, protracted litigation are better allocated to our respective businesses as we continue to deliver joy to the children of America."

Mr. Yeazel continued, "We are confident we would have prevailed in court on the merits, as the allegations of the FTC and States reflect a fundamental misunderstanding of the market and the highly fragmented industry in which we operate. Together, PlayPower and BCI Burke would have represented an American manufacturer and supplier with multiple differentiated brands, together holding less than 30% of the market share in a landscape increasingly impacted by global competition."

"We are disappointed that the FTC chose to challenge this merger and remain proud of the business we have built at Burke and the team that has made it successful," said Mike Phelan, President & CEO of BCI Burke. "I want to thank our employees, customers and partners for their continued support and commitment throughout this process. Our focus remains where it has always been: delivering innovative products, quality, and service that our customers and the communities we serve have come to expect."

PlayPower and Burke will continue to operate independently and each will strive to grow and provide the best playgrounds for America's children and communities.

Court Grants Final Approval of $9.5 Million Eagle Pharmaceuticals Securities Settlement

Wed 26th Aug 2026 | Posted by Melissa Wright, on General, News,

The United States District Court for the District of New Jersey has granted final approval to a $9,500,000 all-cash settlement resolving securities fraud claims brought on behalf of investors who purchased Eagle Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (formerly NASDAQ: EGRX) common stock. Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP served as Court-appointed Lead Counsel for the certified Settlement Class.

The Honorable Michael A. Hammer, United States Magistrate Judge, entered judgment approving the settlement on August 19, 2026. Carella, Byrne, Cecchi, Brody & Agnello, P.C. served as Liaison Counsel. The action was prosecuted on behalf of Court-appointed lead plaintiff Evans Associates I, LLC and named plaintiffs Nicholas Miller, Liyu Wang, and Joanna Pluta.

Case Snapshot

The Settlement Class

The Court certified a Settlement Class consisting of all persons and entities who purchased the publicly traded common stock of Eagle Pharmaceuticals, Inc. between August 9, 2022 and October 1, 2024, both dates inclusive, and who were damaged thereby. Certain persons and entities are excluded from the Settlement Class by definition, including Eagle’s officers and directors during the class period and members of their immediate families. The full class definition and list of exclusions appear in the Court-approved Notice.

The Allegations

The litigation concerned allegedly false and misleading statements by Eagle Pharmaceuticals and two of its executives, Scott Tarriff and Brian Cahill, regarding the company’s sales of its oncology drug Pemfexy and the effectiveness of Eagle’s internal controls over financial reporting.

Plaintiffs alleged that Eagle had experienced slower-than-anticipated product pull-through from a wholesale customer and that, as a result, the company overstated the revenue it reported from Pemfexy sales beginning with the second quarter of 2022. On October 2, 2024, Eagle filed a Form 8-K announcing that its financial statements dating back to the quarter ended June 30, 2022 should no longer be relied upon and would need to be restated. Trading in Eagle common stock was suspended on Nasdaq on October 3, 2024, and the stock thereafter traded on the OTC Expert Market.

Defendants denied and continue to deny all allegations of wrongdoing or liability. The settlement is not an admission of liability by any defendant, and the Court’s judgment makes no finding of wrongdoing.

Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP Secures $7.5 Million For Vintage Wine Estates Investors

Fri 25th Sep 2026 | Posted by Melissa Wright, on General, News,

Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter obtained approval of a $7.5M all-cash securities settlement for investors of Vintage Wine Estates, Inc. (formerly NASDAQ: VWE). Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP served as Court-appointed Lead Counsel for the Settlement Class.

The Honorable Gloria M. Navarro, United States District Judge of the District of Nevada, entered judgment approving the $7.5M securities settlement on September 22, 2026, after a settlement fairness hearing held that day. Muehlbauer Law Office, Ltd. served as liaison counsel and Block & Leviton LLP served as additional counsel. The action was prosecuted on behalf of Court-appointed lead plaintiffs Marilyn Ezzes and Jeffrey Davies and additional plaintiff Michael Salbenblatt.

Case Snapshot

The Settlement Class

The Court certified, for settlement purposes, a Settlement Class consisting of all persons and entities that purchased the publicly traded common stock of Vintage Wine Estates, Inc. between October 13, 2021 and February 8, 2023, both dates inclusive, and were damaged thereby. Certain persons and entities are excluded from the Settlement Class by definition, including Vintage Wine Estates’ officers and directors during the class period and their immediate families. The full class definition and list of exclusions appear in the Court-approved Notice.

The Allegations

The litigation concerned allegedly false and misleading statements concerning the company’s inventory levels and overhead burden made by Vintage Wine Estates and three of its executives during the class period.

On September 13, 2022, Vintage Wine Estates reported fourth-quarter fiscal 2022 results that included $19.1 million in non-cash inventory adjustments and incremental overhead burden attributable to prior periods. On February 8, 2023, the company disclosed that its Audit Committee had determined that its financial statements for the quarter ended September 30, 2022 should no longer be relied upon and would be restated due to an accounting error. In July 2024, Vintage Wine Estates filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and announced it would voluntarily delist its common stock from Nasdaq.

The settlement was entered with defendants Patrick Roney, Katherine DeVillers, and Kristina Johnston. Defendants deny that they violated the federal securities laws. The settlement is not an admission of liability by any defendant, and the Court’s judgment makes no finding of wrongdoing.

How to File a Claim

Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP Obtains Approval of $15 Million Settlement in Evolv Technologies Securities Class Action

Tue 29th Sep 2026 | Posted by Melissa Wright, on News

Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP obtained approval of a $15 million securities settlement on behalf of investors in Evolv Technologies Holdings, Inc. f/k/a NewHold Investment Corp. (NASDAQ: EVLV). The Honorable Allison D. Burroughs, United States District Judge of the District of Massachusetts, entered judgment approving the settlement on September 24, 2026, following a settlement fairness hearing held that day.

Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP served as Court-appointed Lead Counsel for the Settlement Class, with Andrews DeValerio LLP served as Liaison Counsel, and The Law Offices of Frank R. Cruz served as additional counsel for plaintiffs. The action was brought on behalf of Court-appointed lead plaintiff Robert Falk and named plaintiffs Chris Williams, Tim R. Carrillo, and Chris Swanson.

Case Snapshot

The Settlement Class

The Court certified, for settlement purposes, a Settlement Class consisting of all persons and entities that purchased and/or otherwise acquired the publicly traded common stock of Evolv between June 28, 2021 and October 25, 2024, both dates inclusive, and/or purchased or otherwise acquired Evolv common stock pursuant to the registration statement issued in connection with Evolv’s July 2021 business combination with NewHold Investment Corp., and who were damaged thereby. Certain persons and entities are excluded from the Settlement Class by definition, including the officers and directors of Evolv and NewHold Investment Corp. during the class period and their immediate families. The full class definition and list of exclusions appear in the Court-approved Notice.

The Allegations

The litigation concerned allegedly false and misleading statements by Evolv and certain officers and directors of Evolv and NewHold Investment Corp. The statements concerned the effectiveness of the Company’s flagship product, Evolv Express; the Company’s use of extra-contractual terms and conditions in certain arrangements with customers and channel partners; and the Company’s financial metrics and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Plaintiffs asserted claims under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and the Securities Act of 1933.

Plaintiffs alleged the truth emerged through a series of disclosures between May 2023 and October 2024. On October 25, 2024, Evolv announced its Board of Directors had determined that the Company’s previously-issued financial statements for fiscal years 2022 and 2023, and for certain interim periods from 2022 through June 30, 2024, should no longer be relied upon because of revenue misstatements. The complaint also included allegations based on the Federal Trade Commission’s resolution of its inquiry into certain of Evolv’s marketing practices.

The settlement resolves all claims asserted against Evolv and the individual named defendants. Defendants have denied and continue to deny the allegations. The settlement is not an admission of liability by any defendant, and the Court’s judgment makes no finding of wrongdoing.

Claims Deadline

The deadline for Settlement Class Members to submit a claim form was August 12, 2026. The Notice, the Court’s judgment, and other information about the settlement are available at www.EvolvTechSecuritiesSettlement.com.

Florida Southern College Celebrates Ben and Missy Albritton Citrus and Horticulture Complex Greenhouse Raising and Miller Planetarium Rededication

LAKELAND, Fla., Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida Southern College celebrated two significant investments in science education and historic preservation on Thursday, Oct. 22, with the Ben and Missy Albritton Citrus and Horticulture Complex Greenhouse Raising, as well as the Miller Planetarium Rededication. The celebration highlighted the College's commitment to agricultural education, scientific discovery, and preserving its distinctive Frank Lloyd Wright-designed campus.

The event welcomed Florida Senate President and Florida Southern alumnus Ben Albritton and his wife, Missy Albritton, along with state and local officials, College leadership, alumni, and community partners. The program included the unveiling of a dedication inscription honoring the Albritton's, a greenhouse raising ceremony for the new greenhouse complex, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly modernized Miller Planetarium.

The Albritton Citrus and Horticulture Complex will strengthen Florida Southern's longstanding connection to Florida's citrus industry and agricultural education. As a student, Ben Albritton studied horticulture at the College, where faculty members helped him recognize his potential as both a student and a leader. The complex honors the Albrittons' connection to Florida Southern and their commitment to education, agriculture, and public service.

During the greenhouse raising, invited guests signed a steel beam that will become a permanent part of the new complex. The ceremony recognized the collaborative efforts of the College, state leaders, and community supporters in advancing agricultural education. Once completed, the four new greenhouses will provide opportunities for hands-on learning, experimentation, and scientific inquiry.

State funding is also supporting improvements to Polk Science, including structural upgrades, historic preservation, and restoration of its greenhouse. Complementing these investments, a private donor gift will support renovations to existing laboratories, strengthening facilities for scientific instruction and research.

"We are particularly grateful to the State of Florida and specifically the Polk County legislators who made these opportunities possible for students, schools, and the entire community," said Dr. Jeremy Martin, President of Florida Southern College. "We are also honored to recognize Ben and Missy Albritton, whose longstanding relationship with Florida Southern and commitment to Florida agriculture and public service make today's celebration especially meaningful."

The celebration continued at the Miller Planetarium, where President Jeremy Martin led the rededication and ribbon-cutting ceremony. The planetarium's modernization includes significant upgrades to projection and audiovisual technology, transforming the historic facility into an immersive learning environment for students, K-12 school groups, families, and visitors.

The program recognized Senator Colleen Burton and Representative Jennifer Canady for their advocacy in securing state appropriations for Florida Southern over the past several years. The restoration also received support from the State of Florida, the National Park Service's Save America's Treasures grant program, and a private donor. These investments helped preserve the planetarium while equipping it with modern technology to inspire new generations of learners.

"The reopening of the Planetarium fulfills a dream decades in the making," said Dr. Keith Berend, chairman of the College's Board of Trustees. "As a student here in the late 1980s and early 1990s, I remember hoping to see this day."

Dr. Berend also emphasized the significance of the greenhouse complex in carrying forward Florida Southern's agricultural legacy.

"Florida Southern has a proud history in citrus education, including what was once the nation's only bachelor's degree dedicated to citrus. Seeing that legacy carried forward for a new generation is especially exciting," he said.

Together, the Albritton Citrus and Horticulture Complex and the Miller Planetarium connect Florida Southern's legacy with new opportunities for scientific exploration, student learning, and community engagement.

Founded in 1883, Florida Southern College is the oldest private college in the state. The College maintains its commitment to academic excellence through 70+ undergraduate programs and distinctive graduate programs in business administration, education, nursing, and physical therapy. Florida Southern has a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio, is an award-winning national leader in engaged learning, and boasts 30 NCAA Division II National Championships. In the U.S. News & World Report's 2025 "Best Colleges" guide, Florida Southern ranks #11 among "Best Regional Universities in the South," #12 in "Most Innovative Schools," and #24 in "Best Value Schools." The College is also highlighted in The Princeton Review's 2026 Best 391 Colleges guide and the "Fiske Guide to Colleges 2025." The 2025-2026 Colleges of Distinction guidebook praises Florida Southern's AACSB-accredited Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise alongside the College's School of Education and its Ann Blanton Edwards School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Home to the world's largest single-site collection of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, Florida Southern houses 13 Wright-designed structures.
