Saab and GA-ASI successfully flight test LoyalEye AEW capability on MQ-9B

STOCKHOLM, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Saab and General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) have successfully flight tested an unmanned airborne early warning (AEW) capability, integrating Saab's LoyalEye airborne early warning radar with the MQ-9B remotely piloted aircraft system.

Conducted during a flight at GA-ASI's Desert Horizon Flight Operations Facility in Southern California, the activity validated the performance of the integrated system, including its ability to detect, track, and classify airborne targets from an unmanned platform. Stakeholders attended the flight test and observed the capability in real time within a representative operational scenario, highlighting the progress made in the system's development.

The flight test is part of an evaluation programme that began with the system's first flight in May 2026, underscoring the rapid progress of the capability.

"This flight test marks an important milestone in the development of unmanned airborne early warning capabilities. LoyalEye is designed to complement existing AEW&C solutions by providing additional flexibility and persistence, and today's flight validates the capability in a representative operational scenario", says Carl-Johan Bergholm, head of Saab's business area Surveillance.

"This has been one of the most highly anticipated flight tests we have performed," said GA-ASI President David R. Alexander. "The level of customer interest in AEW capability on MQ-9B throughout the world is extremely high. It just makes sense."

LoyalEye on MQ-9B can operate independently or alongside manned AEW&C platforms. An unmanned AEW capability will be able to surveil large areas with persistent surveillance in operating environments where endurance, geographic reach, and reduced aircrew exposure are critical.

In HelloNation, HVAC Experts Rick Liberti and Jon McCartha Explain What to Do When a Furnace Stops Working
Original HTML

The article outlines simple troubleshooting steps and when a professional furnace inspection is needed.

FOREST ACRES, S.C., Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What should homeowners do when a furnace stops working? HelloNation has published an article that provides the answer, offering practical guidance for residents dealing with a furnace not working in colder conditions.

The HelloNation article explains that when a furnace stops working, the first step is to stay calm and check simple issues before assuming a major failure. In Forest Acres, SC, where temperatures can shift quickly, a malfunctioning heating system can cause discomfort if left unaddressed. The article notes that many common issues begin with components that homeowners can safely inspect.

One of the first areas to review is the thermostat. The article explains how an incorrectly set or unresponsive thermostat can cause a furnace to stop working. Ensuring the thermostat is set to heat and adjusted above the current room temperature can often resolve the issue. HVAC Experts, including those at Mid-State Heating and Air LLC, frequently see thermostat-related problems as an early cause when a furnace stops working.

The article also emphasizes checking the furnace power supply. A tripped breaker or a shut-off switch near the unit can interrupt the heating system without warning. The article explains that this switch may look like a standard light switch and can be accidentally turned off. Restoring the power supply may bring the system back online. HVAC Experts note that these simple checks are often overlooked when diagnosing a furnace not working.

Another key factor is the air filter. The article explains that a clogged air filter can block airflow, causing the heating system to overheat and shut down as a safety precaution. Replacing the air filter can restore airflow, improve efficiency, and support better indoor air quality. Mid-State Heating and Air LLC and other HVAC Experts highlight that maintaining a clean air filter is one of the easiest ways to prevent furnace issues.

The article further advises homeowners to check the furnace access panel and vents. If the panel is not properly secured, the furnace may not operate. Blocked or closed vents can also restrict airflow and affect performance. The article notes that everyday household items can unintentionally block vents, contributing to uneven heating or a furnace not working properly in homes throughout Forest Acres, SC.

If these basic steps do not resolve the issue, the article recommends scheduling a professional furnace inspection. More complex problems involving ignition systems, blower motors, or internal components require technical expertise. Attempting to force a furnace to operate can increase wear or cause further damage. A thorough furnace inspection can identify the cause and restore safe operation.

The article also highlights the importance of regular maintenance in reducing the likelihood that a furnace stops working. Routine service, timely air filter replacement, and attention to early warning signs such as unusual noises or inconsistent heating can help prevent unexpected breakdowns. A well-maintained heating system is more reliable and efficient over time.

For residents of Forest Acres, SC, the article concludes that taking a measured approach can help reduce stress when a furnace stops working. By checking the thermostat, verifying the power supply, and maintaining the air filter, homeowners can address many common issues before seeking professional help.

What Should I Do If My Furnace Stops Working? features insights from Rick Liberti and Jon McCartha, HVAC Experts of Forest Acres, South Carolina, in HelloNation.

Huntington's Disease Foundation Commits $2 Million for its 2026 Transformative Research Awards

Two innovative research projects will pursue distinct strategies to advance potential treatments for Huntington's disease.

NEW YORK, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Huntington's Disease Foundation (HDF) has awarded $2 million for its 2026 Transformative Research Awards (TRAs) to support two exceptional research collaborations with the potential to advance treatments for Huntington's disease (HD).

Made possible by the support of new major donors, this year's awards reflect HDF's commitment to investing in groundbreaking science.

"HDF typically funds one TRA annually, but the extraordinary potential of these two proposals warranted an investment in both," said Meghan Donaldson, CEO. "When promising science offers a path toward disease-modifying treatments and, ultimately, a cure for Huntington's disease, we are committed to making that research possible."

The 2026 recipients are collaborative teams led by Dr. Rachel Harding of the Structural Genomics Consortium and the University of Toronto, and Dr. Ai Yamamoto of Columbia University. Each will receive $1 million to pursue a distinct strategy targeting the toxic huntingtin protein associated with HD.

Two Approaches, One Shared Goal

Both projects explore innovative ways to address the underlying biology of Huntington's disease - a fatal, inherited neurodegenerative disorder that progressively affects movement, cognition, and behavior.

Dr. Harding's project, "Structure-Guided Development of Small Molecule Therapeutics Targeting the Huntingtin Protein," builds on the discovery of a small molecule that binds directly and selectively to huntingtin. Her team aims to develop compounds that recruit the cell's natural disposal machinery to remove the toxic protein, potentially opening a path toward treatments that could be delivered orally.

Dr. Yamamoto's project, "Augmenting Alfy Expression to Treat HD and Other Proteinopathies," focuses on strengthening the brain's cellular cleanup systems. Her team will investigate ways to increase Alfy, a protein involved in clearing harmful protein aggregates, and advance antisense molecules designed to increase its expression, with the goal of delaying HD symptom onset.

Together, these complementary approaches reflect HDF's commitment to funding bold, innovative science toward future treatments for HD.

Investing in Transformative Science

HDF's Transformative Research Awards are its largest research grants. Since 2023, HDF has awarded six TRAs, each designed to catalyze promising new directions in Huntington's disease research. Funding these two awards in 2026 underscores HDF's commitment to investing in exceptional scientific opportunities with the potential to change the course of the disease.

Egan-Jones Examines Shareholder Verdict in Better Home & Finance Contest
Image File
Original HTML

NEW YORK, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Egan-Jones released a commentary examining the outcome of the consent solicitation at Better Home & Finance (NASDAQ: BETR), where shareholders voted to reconstitute the board in favor of founder Vishal Garg. On October 5, Better confirmed that holders of a majority of its outstanding shares had consented to the Garg Group's solicitation, ending the contest and removing five of the company's eight directors, including Interim CEO Daniel Lewis.

Egan-Jones had recommended that shareholders consent FOR the solicitation in its September 15, 2026 research report. The two other leading proxy advisory firms sided with Better's incumbent board. The commentary gives three reasons for Egan-Jones' view: Better was executing a measurable turnaround under Garg, its strategy after his removal was the one he had been executing, and the board's process for removing him was unclear and inconsistent with its own conduct.

On performance, the commentary notes that in the two years before Garg's departure, Better's total shareholder return was 14%, greater than any other company in its peer group. Revenue rose quickly year after year, and earnings, while still negative, were steadily improving.

Egan-Jones observes that neither side disputed that Better's strategic direction stayed the same under Lewis, which made the contest about execution rather than strategy. Several wins that management cited, including a completed Credit Karma home equity partnership, were built and announced under Garg.

The commentary also questions the board's process. Garg was terminated the same morning the board was reportedly celebrating the Credit Karma partnership. In the roughly five weeks after his removal on August 3, Better's stock fell approximately 53%, underperforming every peer in the comparison group, and several senior leaders left.

The outcome does not by itself reinstate Garg as CEO. Its practical effect is a reconstituted board, now cut to five seats, that can draw on Garg's product and strategy expertise as the company settles its permanent leadership.

Egan-Jones concluded that shareholders would be better served by a board that restored Garg's influence over the company's direction, and a majority of Better's shareholders reached the same conclusion. With the contest settled, the focus shifts from governance to execution.

The Article Explains How Brain Fog May Point to Underlying Stress, Sleep, or Nervous System Inbalance.

ODESSA, Texas, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What causes brain fog? A HelloNation article explores this question and outlines the nervous system factors that can contribute to it.

The article describes brain fog as a term people use for feeling mentally slow, forgetful, or unable to concentrate. It notes that this experience is not a medical diagnosis, but usually a signal that something else needs attention.

According to the article, stress is one of the most common contributors to brain fog in adults. When the body stays in a heightened state too long, focus and memory often suffer.

The article also connects mood, sleep, and mental clarity, noting the link is not always obvious. Anxiety and low mood can make thoughts feel scattered or slow, it explains.

Hormonal changes can play a role as well, the article notes, especially during pregnancy, menopause, or shifts in thyroid function. These changes can affect memory, focus, and energy in confusing ways.

Dr. Mikala Reznik, Nervous System Health Expert at Reznik Focus Center in Odessa, Texas, is featured in the article. The article explains why persistent symptoms deserve thoughtful evaluation rather than being dismissed as ordinary fatigue.

The article recommends tracking sleep, energy, and moments of confusion before an appointment. This information gives a provider a clearer, more complete picture to work from.

As a Nervous System Health Expert, Dr. Mikala Reznik is presented in the article as a resource for identifying treatable causes. The article notes this evaluation may include a review of sleep habits, medications, and basic lab work.

Illness and certain medications can also affect mental clarity for a period of time, the article explains. Symptoms often improve gradually once the underlying cause resolves or is addressed.

The article distinguishes this experience from typical age related memory changes, since older adults sometimes worry unnecessarily. A provider can help tell the two apart and offer appropriate next steps.

Chronic stress deserves particular attention, the article notes, because the body was not designed to stay on high alert for long. When stress becomes constant, cognitive symptoms often follow close behind.

Lifestyle factors also shape mental sharpness from day to day, the article adds. Diet, hydration, physical activity, and screen time can all play a subtle but meaningful role.

The article concludes that the condition often improves with time, rest, and small lifestyle adjustments. Persistent or worsening symptoms, however, are worth a closer look with a qualified provider.

The article also points out that no single test confirms this experience, since it is a symptom rather than a diagnosis. This is exactly why a thoughtful, individualized evaluation matters so much to a lasting solution.

Anyone dealing with symptoms that last for several weeks or interfere with daily responsibilities should consider scheduling an evaluation, the article advises. Early conversations often lead to simpler solutions before patterns become harder to trace.

The article adds that many people wait months before mentioning the issue to a healthcare provider, assuming it will pass on its own. In some cases it does, but the article notes that persistent symptoms are still worth raising early.

Water Treatment Expert Jason McGee of Loretto Explains How to Calibrate Safe and Efficient Chemical Dosing for HelloNation
Image File
Original HTML

LORETTO, Tenn., Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- How can water treatment operators ensure that chemical dosing remains both safe and efficient? A HelloNation article answers this question with insight from Water Treatment Expert Justin McGee of Southeastern Tank in Loretto, Tennessee. In a HelloNation article, McGee explains how precision, calibration, and feedback-based control systems prevent over-dosing, reduce waste, and protect long-term water quality.

According to the HelloNation feature, dosing chemicals in a water treatment system is one of the most precise yet misunderstood tasks. Many assume that adding more disinfectant increases safety, but McGee clarifies that the opposite is often true. Over-dosing wastes chemicals, accelerates equipment wear, and can create disinfection byproducts such as trihalomethanes and haloacetic acidsâcompounds regulated because of their potential health risks. The key, he explains, is balance: enough disinfectant to eliminate pathogens without introducing unnecessary chemical reactions.

Maintaining that balance requires understanding how flow rate, temperature, and water chemistry interact inside the system. Disinfectant decay rates vary with these factors, meaning that a fixed chemical dose may work well in summer but fail during cooler months or higher demand periods. McGee emphasizes that operators must treat dosing as a dynamic process guided by real-time data, not a static setting.

The HelloNation article highlights that efficient dosing begins with accurate measurement and regular calibration. Metering pumps that drift out of calibration can cause both overfeed and underfeed conditions, sometimes by large margins. Routine verification of pump output ensures that the intended dosage matches the actual amount being delivered. Accurate flow dynamics monitoring complements this process, maintaining proper chemical-to-water ratios even when flow rates fluctuate. Automated dosing systems can adjust feed proportionally to flow, keeping disinfectant levels consistent without manual correction.

Real-time monitoring plays a central role in dosing precision. McGee explains that sensors tracking chlorine residual, pH, and oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) provide immediate feedback about how the system is performing. These readings allow operators to make quick, informed adjustments before water quality is affected. When maintained and calibrated regularly, such sensors reflect actual chemical behavior in the tank, ensuring stable disinfection results and reducing both waste and variability.

Mixing is another crucial factor in safe chemical dosing. Even when the correct amount of disinfectant is added, poor distribution can lead to localized hot spots or areas of insufficient treatment. The HelloNation article describes how properly engineered mixing systems or strategically placed inlets ensure that chemicals disperse evenly throughout the tank. Without adequate mixing, uneven concentrations can degrade coatings, shorten equipment life, and create pockets of poor water quality.

The influence of pH is also critical to maintaining effective disinfection. Chlorine performance depends heavily on pH levels because it exists in two formsâhypochlorous acid and hypochlorite ion. The HelloNation article explains that as pH rises, chlorine becomes less active, prompting some operators to overfeed in an attempt to compensate. McGee recommends monitoring and adjusting pH to maintain the correct chemical balance, which ensures optimal disinfection efficiency without wasteful overuse.

Documentation and training support every step of dosing management. Operators should keep detailed records of dosage rates, residual readings, and calibration data to track performance trends. Reviewing this information helps identify seasonal patterns, equipment wear, or other factors that influence dosing accuracy. McGee notes that this type of recordkeeping allows for preventive maintenance rather than reactive troubleshooting, keeping systems both compliant and efficient.

Technology has improved dosing reliability, but automation still depends on human oversight. The HelloNation feature explains that sensors require periodic cleaning, pumps need inspection, and software setpoints must be verified to ensure accuracy. Combining automated systems with trained operator judgment creates a stable balance between efficiency and safety. McGee stresses that even the most advanced automation requires regular validation to prevent drift or data errors.

Efficiency in dosing is not only an operational concern but also an environmental one. Using only the required amount of chemicals reduces waste, lowers operational costs, and minimizes the production of disinfection byproducts. It also reflects responsible resource management. Over-dosing, on the other hand, introduces chemicals that must later be neutralized or flushed from the system, increasing energy and maintenance costs.

Ultimately, McGee emphasizes that precisionânot volumeâdefines effective chemical dosing. By combining continuous monitoring, regular calibration, and proper mixing system design, operators can maintain consistent chlorine residual levels and stable water treatment performance. This precision protects consumers, safeguards infrastructure, and supports long-term sustainability across the entire water network.

As the HelloNation article concludes, in water treatment, more is not betterâaccurate is better. Proper calibration and control turn chemical dosing from a guessing game into a predictable, reliable process that delivers clean, safe water every day.
