GEEKOM Launches A5 2027 Edition Mini PC, Built for Productivity That Lasts

TAIPEI, Sept. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- GEEKOM, a leading global Mini PC brand, is redefining the productivity Mini PC with the launch of the A5 2027 Edition. Designed for all-day productivity, the new A5 combines dependable performance, long-term reliability and flexible expansion in a compact form.

Powered by the 8-core, 16-thread AMD Ryzen™ 7 7730U, the A5 2027 Edition is built for real-world productivity — from running 30+ browser tabs alongside video meetings and large spreadsheets to Photoshop, 2D design and light 4K editing. With up to 64GB of memory, 7TB of storage and four-display support, it gives professionals, creators and small businesses the flexibility to build a workspace around the way they work.

But productivity also depends on how long a PC can be trusted to perform. The A5 2027 Edition uses brand-new SSDs, a reinforced all-metal internal frame and multi-layer motherboard protection, and undergoes 339 validation checks covering durability, aging, thermals and more. Together with flexible memory and storage upgrades, this quality-from-the-inside-out approach gives GEEKOM the confidence to offer a three-year warranty and engineer its PCs for more than five years of service.

Reliability also means being ready when work does not stop. The A5 2027 Edition's IceBlast 3.0 cooling system combines a larger silent fan, copper heat pipe and dedicated copper plate to efficiently move heat away from critical components. Better thermal control reduces throttling and long-term heat stress, enabling stable 24/7 operation for offices, retail systems, digital signage and other always-on environments.

The A5 2027 Edition also brings AI into everyday productivity. It can serve as a personal AI assistant for research, writing, content creation and data analysis, while emerging agentic applications can automate more complex, multi-step workflows. With stable, always-on operation, the A5 2027 Edition can keep these AI workflows running in the background when needed — helping users get more done with less hands-on effort.

The A5 2027 Edition brings GEEKOM's vision of all-day productivity to life: built to do more, built to keep running and built to last. Best All-Day Productivity Mini PC. Cool・Silent・Stable.

The GEEKOM A5 2027 Edition is available now through GEEKOM's official website and Amazon.

Truecaller expands enterprise suite; allows consumers to communicate with businesses in a tap

STOCKHOLM, Sept. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Truecaller, the leading global platform for safe and trusted communication, today launched Post-Call Actions, a new capability that enables consumers to complete important tasks immediately when the call ends. The functionality is first rolling out to the high intent category of last-mile delivery companies, soon to be followed by use cases and customisable options supporting the big industry of banking, financial services and insurance. Post-Call Actions ensures a business call no longer ends with "we'll send you a link." It ends with getting the job done.

Post-Call Actions appear at the exact moment people are already paying attention: the instant when a verified business call ends. A branded action card appears automatically in Truecaller, and whatever the next step is, it becomes one tap away, no app to download, no link to hunt for, no queue to wait in.

For deliveries, the friction is familiar: a call arrives when you're at work or mid-commute—impossible to take, and by the time it's returned, the slot is gone. Or it is answered, but the same directions have to be repeated to yet another new agent. With post-call actions, customers can now instantly reschedule the delivery, confirm their availability, share precise location, or authorize a safe drop—directly in Truecaller.

For banking, financial services, and insurance customers, the stakes and the anxiety are higher. A call from a bank today could be genuine or a sophisticated impersonation scam. Because Post Call Actions only appear after Verified Business calls, customers can now act with confidence instead of second-guessing. From that trusted screen, they can pay dues, request a callback, complete a pending KYC step, or confirm a transaction, without hunting for a link that may or may not be genuine, at a time when impersonation fraud is at an all-time high.

For the businesses on the other end of the call, Post-Call Actions changes what a completed call means. Call performance has traditionally been measured by pick up rates. Now it can be measured by whether it was resolved—with the follow-through happening in the same trusted moment, on the same screen, instead of leaking away across SMS links, app downloads, and abandoned IVR queues.

"A phone call has been the most human way for a business to communicate with customers. But it usually ends with homework for them," said Priyam Bose, Global Head, GTM, Truecaller for Business. "Post-Call Actions resolve this. The delivery gets rescheduled, the bill gets paid, the KYC gets done, all in the same trusted moment, on the same screen, irrespective of the calls getting picked up or unanswered."

Berlin (ots)

Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of Korea, Successfully Concludes 'GBC 2026,' Marking a Great Leap in Bio

– 5,600 participants from 19 countries discuss global bio innovation and the path forward –

– Strengthened global regulatory cooperation, with a total of 23 meetings held with overseas regulators and industry, including 5 regulatory cooperation meetings –

SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- This is an article published in The Korea Herald:

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of Korea (MFDS, Minister Oh Yu-Kyoung) announced that it has successfully concluded the "2026 Global Bio Conference (GBC)," held under the theme "The Great Leap in Bio, Accelerating Innovation" from Wednesday, 26 August to Friday, 28 August at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas.

Now in its 12th edition, this year's GBC brought together approximately 5,600* participants — including regulatory authorities, pharmaceutical and biotech industry professionals, and academic experts in the biopharmaceutical field from 19 countries around the world. Together with 75 overseas experts, participants from Korea and abroad shared the latest technology and development trends in the bio field and global regulatory policy, and discussed innovation and future directions for a great leap in the bio industry.

* A total of 75 biopharmaceutical experts from 19 countries gave presentations, with approximately 5,600 participants from academia, industry and regulatory authorities attending online and offline (Advanced Biopharmaceuticals Policy and Quality Forum: 483; Vaccine Forum: 462; Recombinant Protein Products Forum: 591; and others)

In particular, this year's GBC strengthened regulatory innovation in step with advances in cutting-edge bio technology, while also deepening international regulatory cooperation through 5 cooperation meetings among regulatory authorities, 16 meetings between 9 domestic companies and overseas regulatory authorities, and 2 meetings between overseas companies and MFDS — supporting K-Bio's entry into the global market and expanding the cooperative network among regulatory authorities.

[Innovation] Accelerating the Great Leap in Bio through Advanced Technology and Regulatory Innovation

This year's GBC held wide-ranging discussions on the latest technology trends at home and abroad, and on corresponding regulatory response strategies, in step with fast-evolving innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced biopharmaceuticals, and with changes in the biopharmaceutical development environment.

In addition, through field-specific forums on vaccines, recombinant protein products and advanced biopharmaceuticals, along with a range of specialized programmes, the conference shared the latest R&D trends and approval/review case studies, and explored ways to build a reasonable regulatory environment so that innovative biopharmaceuticals can be developed swiftly, expanding treatment opportunities for patients.

"GBC Special: K-Bio Innovation Leaders Talk," which brought together companies leading Korea's bio industry, shared their experience and successful strategies in taking on global markets, and exchanged views on the innovation, challenges and future direction needed for K-Bio to lead the global market.

[Cooperation] Strengthening Cooperation among Regulatory Authorities and Supporting K-Bio's Global Expansion

Global regulators from Canada, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia and other countries shared their countries' approval and review systems, the latest policy trends, and cases of information exchange and joint cooperation among global regulatory authorities at the "Regulatory Workshop," and exchanged views on ways to strengthen international cooperation.

Regulatory authorities from Korea, the United States, Japan and Europe also discussed the current status and key issues of approval and review systems for recombinant protein products, as well as ways to cooperate on reviews.

In particular, at the joint workshop with Japan's regulatory authority — now in its 9th year — participants shared and discussed the latest review cases for a range of products incorporating advanced bio technologies, including the world's first approved induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) therapy, coordinating the direction of global review and regulation in the field of advanced biopharmaceuticals.

In addition, at a bilateral meeting with Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM), the two sides discussed cooperation on the stable supply of source plasma and, building on regulatory trust in the field of drug approval and review, Korea proposed being registered as a reference country for Indonesia, agreeing to continue working-level discussions to put this into practice.

Meanwhile, 1:1 meetings were held between global regulators from Canada, Japan, Singapore, Vietnam and Malaysia and Korean companies seeking to export, providing a venue to support exports by exploring overseas approval and licensing strategies.

Building on the network of cooperation with experts and regulatory authorities from Korea and abroad built through this year's GBC, MFDS plans to continue regulatory innovation in the biopharmaceutical field and to actively support Korean companies' entry into global markets.

MFDS also stated that it will continue to develop GBC into a leading international event for sharing innovative technologies and regulatory policy in the global biopharmaceutical field, and will make every effort so that the Republic of Korea can leap forward as a nation leading global biopharmaceutical regulation and industrial innovation.

Moonlock by MacPaw Wins Red Dot Award 2026

Since launching in October 2025, Moonlock has taken a different approach to cybersecurity, reflected in every detail of the app. Its intuitive interface, plain-spoken copy, and hand-drawn illustrations replace the cold, technical tone common to security software. The result is a security app making protection feel easy and stress-free for everyone, expert or not.

Clear, human, beautiful products are a core MacPaw value, and the company pays attention to every detail, from aesthetics to user experience. Moonlock is no exception: it was built to make cybersecurity accessible to everyone, whatever their background — and design is central to that mission.

"Cybersecurity has a reputation for being intimidating — all alerts and jargon, with the sense that you need to be an expert just to stay safe. We built Moonlock to change that," said Oleg Stukalenko, Head of Product Management at Moonlock by MacPaw. "From the start, we wanted it to feel human and welcoming, so that online protection becomes a natural part of everyday life rather than something people worry about. We think of design as everything someone actually experiences with us, not just the screen in front of them. Having the Red Dot jury recognize that work means a lot to the whole team."

The Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design celebrates the craft behind how a product looks, feels, and speaks to the people who use it. Held since 1993, the competition is open to established and emerging designers, agencies, and companies across 18 categories. Each year, an international jury of 30 experts from design, science, media, and consultancy evaluates the entries, bringing a wide range of professional and cultural perspectives to every decision.

With this win, Moonlock continues MacPaw's legacy of design excellence. It is the company's fourth Red Dot Award: in 2017, Gemini 2 became the first macOS application to win the honor, followed by CleanMyMac in 2021 and CleanMy®Phone in 2024.

Nurminen Logistics increases capacity on its Sweden-Italy rail route: two weekly departures and expanded transport options

Nurminen Logistics Plc Press release 7 September 2026

HELSINKI, Sept. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Nurminen Logistics will add a second weekly departure to its Sweden–Italy block train service from the first week of October 2026. The company will also deploy a more versatile wagon fleet, increasing the service's flexibility by accommodating a wider range of container types and enabling the transport of dangerous goods.

This block train service was launched earlier this year and operates between the Castelguelfo terminal near Parma in northern Italy and the Frövi terminal in Örebro County, central Sweden. With a rail transit time of approximately 2.5 to 3 days, it provides a fast and reliable connection between Southern Europe and the Nordic region.

The Sweden–Italy service is a fully integrated logistics solution. In addition to rail transport, Nurminen Logistics manages first- and last-mile transportation, terminal operations and all required transport documentation. Customers benefit from a seamless door-to-door service and a single point of contact throughout the transport chain.

The strategically located terminals in Parma and Frövi provide efficient access to major industrial regions, logistics hubs and ports. Combined with Nurminen Logistics' extensive transport network, the service also supports onward deliveries across Italy, Sweden and beyond.

"The second weekly departure gives customers more capacity and flexibility in planning their supply chains. More frequent departures reduce waiting times, support smoother connections to road and maritime transport, and improve delivery predictability," says Marjut Linnajärvi, VP, International Rail Operations and Sales at Nurminen Logistics.

"Customers increasingly want one logistics partner to manage the entire transport chain. By combining rail transport with first- and last-mile services, terminal operations and documentation, we make international freight flows easier and more efficient to manage," Linnajärvi continues.

vivo and UNESCO MAB Bring Young Voices Together in Italy to Capture the Future

PONTREMOLI, Italy, Sept. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- vivo and the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme have brought the 2026 Capture the Future: Global Youth Storytelling Initiative for People and Nature to its final chapter with a five-day Co-Creation Camp in the Appennino Tosco Emiliano Biosphere Reserve, held from August 31 to September 5 and bringing together 15 young creators from around the world.

Selected through the initiative's global open call, the students, young photographers and visual storytellers came together in Italy to explore the relationship between people and nature through immersive field experiences, expert-led sessions and collaborative visual storytelling. Using vivo smartphones, they created original photo essays and short films.

From a global call to a shared creative journey

Launched by vivo and UNESCO MAB in March 2026, Capture the Future invited young people to share visual stories about the relationship between people and nature in UNESCO Biosphere Reserves. The global call received 745 submissions from young people in 98 countries, with stories linked to more than 120 UNESCO Biosphere Reserves across the World Network.

The initiative's reach extended beyond the global call as well. In April, a series of capacity-building workshops brought visual storytelling and the people-and-nature theme to students from Penang Hill in Malaysia to the University of Alexandria in Egypt, before culminating in a session at the University of Milan — engaging more than 600 students.

The Co-Creation Camp marked the culmination of this year-long journey. Guided by a multidisciplinary mentor team including vivo imaging expert Keshav Chugh, UNESCO MAB communication specialist Manoel Giffoni, ZEISS Ambassador Solli Kanani and award-winning film director Marko Roth, the 15 selected creators explored the landscapes, biodiversity, traditions and communities of the Appennino Tosco Emiliano Biosphere Reserve, turning their observations and experiences into original visual stories.

"This experience allowed me to capture my impressions of the past, the present and the future of the Biosphere Reserves. We all found a common meaning within different realities and this connection will stay deep in my heart."

— Lea Meny, Germany

"What touched me most was their curiosity, openness, and strong connection to their own places and communities. Many of their stories are deeply personal, while also connected to bigger questions about nature, culture, and the future."

— Solli KANANI, Co-Creation Camp Mentor

From local stories to a global audience

On September 5, the Camp closed with an exhibition and screening event, during which participants presented their visual works to local audiences. The stories created during the Camp will continue their journey beyond Italy, with selected works to be shared through vivo and UNESCO MAB's global platforms. A documentary will also capture the creative journey and experiences of the young storytellers.

From the global open call and campus workshops to the Co-Creation Camp, Capture the Future has created a platform for young people to observe, create, and share stories about people and nature. As the initiative continues, the work of the visual storytellers will continue to connect local experiences to a global conversation about a more sustainable future.
