The automotive ECU market is being driven by the shift toward zonal and centralized E/E architectures, which require higher-performance controllers to manage multiple vehicle functions. Growing ADAS integration and sensor-fusion requirements are increasing demand for ECUs with greater processing capability, functional safety, and low-latency control. The transition toward software-defined vehicles is also raising ECU content through OTA updates, service-oriented software, and reusable computing platforms. At the same time, increasing vehicle electrification is expanding demand for dedicated powertrain, battery management, thermal management, and charging-control ECUs. The adoption of Automotive Ethernet and high-speed in-vehicle networks is further increasing the technical value of gateway and zonal controllers. AI-enabled vehicle functions and generative-AI-based cockpit and ADAS applications are expected to further increase demand for high-performance edge computing and AI-capable automotive processors. Growing cybersecurity, functional-safety, and regulatory requirements are also driving the integration of secure processing, hardware security modules, redundancy, and fail-operational capabilities into ECUs.

32-bit capacity ECU to hold the largest market share in the automotive ECU market during the forecast period.

ECUs with 32-bit capacity are expected to hold the largest share as they provide the processing capability required across a broad mix of control functions, including body control, braking, steering, powertrain, BMS, motor control, transmission, telematics, infotainment, and digital cockpit applications, while retaining the cost and real-time characteristics required for high-volume vehicle platforms. Demand is increasing as OEMs consolidate functions into integrated controllers, requiring higher CPU performance, larger memory, faster networking, and stronger functional-safety and cybersecurity capabilities without moving every control function to expensive high-performance SoCs. For instance, in March 2026, Renesas introduced the 28 nm 32-bit RH850/U2C, targeting chassis and safety systems, BMS, body control, lighting, motor control, and other ASIL-D applications, with improved connectivity, security, and lower power consumption. Infineon also expanded its 32-bit AURIX TC3x family in March 2026 with a 400 MHz option, allowing powertrain, chassis, zone, and domain ECUs to accommodate higher software complexity without changing the underlying ECU platform. This combination of wider application coverage, platform reuse, real-time control, and increasing compute and networking requirements is strengthening the role of 32-bit ECUs as the core processing layer between conventional low-end controllers and high-performance centralized vehicle computers.

Infotainment and communication system to hold the largest share in the automotive ECU market during the forecast period.

Infotainment and communication systems are expected to hold the largest share in the automotive ECU market during the forecast period as OEMs shift cockpit electronics from dedicated infotainment controllers to high-performance, software-defined platforms integrating AI, connectivity, navigation, applications, and vehicle functions. The rising use of AI-enabled voice interfaces, app ecosystems, continuous OTA updates, and cloud-connected services is increasing the compute and software content of infotainment ECUs, while the need to process high-bandwidth data from cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB, GNSS, and vehicle networks is pushing OEMs toward more integrated communication architectures. For instance, in April 2026, Hyundai Motor Group introduced Pleos Connect, combining AI-based Gleo, navigation, an open app ecosystem, and continuous OTA updates, with a target deployment of approximately 20 million vehicles by 2030. Further, in May 2026, GM introduced its integrated Connectivity Hub Module (CHM), consolidating cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BLE, UWB, and GNSS connectivity while supporting high-bandwidth infotainment and OTA functions, indicating a move away from conventional TCU architectures. These developments are driving the segment toward centralized cockpit compute, integrated connectivity modules, AI acceleration, and software-upgradable architectures, increasing the value of infotainment and communication ECUs relative to conventional function-specific controllers.

North America is estimated to hold a significant share of the automotive ECU market during the forecast period.

North America is estimated to hold a significant share of the automotive ECU market during the forecast period. The region is seeing a structural shift toward centralized and zonal E/E architectures, with major OEMs redesigning ECU configurations to support higher computing loads, faster networking, and software-defined functions. For instance, in April 2026, Ford Motor Company (US) highlighted its Universal EV platform's fully zonal architecture, which consolidates vehicle functions into fewer modules and uses higher-speed Ethernet for distributed edge computing. In May 2026, General Motors (US) also introduced its integrated Connectivity Hub Module (CHM), which combines multiple wireless interfaces and connectivity electronics to support its next-generation software-defined architecture and reduce wiring complexity. GM is also developing a centralized computing platform scheduled for 2028 that consolidates dozens of ECUs and connects propulsion, steering, braking, safety, and infotainment through a high-speed Ethernet backbone across both ICE and electric vehicles. Similarly, increasing deployment of ADAS and automated-driving functions is raising demand for high-performance ECUs capable of real-time sensor processing, vehicle control, and OTA software updates. The US regulatory push for mandatory advanced safety functions is expected to further support ECU demand, with NHTSA's FMVSS 127 requiring automatic emergency braking and pedestrian AEB on new light vehicles from September 2029, encouraging wider deployment of sensor-based electronic control systems. These developments are shifting regional ECU demand from conventional function-specific controllers toward higher-value central compute, zonal controllers, gateways, and integrated connectivity platforms.

The aluminum refractory materials market is anticipated to witness significant growth owing to the increasing aluminum production across the globe, rising capacity of secondary aluminum recycling and remelting, and growing investments in low-carbon aluminum manufacturing. According to the International Aluminum Institute (IAI), the cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of primary aluminum fell from 15.8 tons CO₂e per ton in 2021 to 14.4 tons CO₂e per ton in 2024 due to ongoing decarbonization by the industry. However, electrolysis is still the most carbon-intensive stage, followed by alumina refining, which underscores the need for greater energy efficiency across the aluminum value chain. Producers are updating smelters, refineries, melting furnaces and casting facilities, and there is an increasing demand for advanced refractory materials that offer improved thermal insulation, lower heat losses, longer service life and better resistance to penetration, corrosion and thermal shock by liquid aluminum.

"By production stage, secondary aluminum production segment to exhibit fastest growth during forecast period"

Secondary Aluminum Production: The global transition to sustainability, circular economy, and energy efficiency is driving up the growth of secondary aluminum production. Aluminum recycling is increasingly appealing, as its energy consumption is also comparably low, up to 95% lower than primary production, and the manufacturing and government focus on reducing the aluminum carbon footprint is increasing. The amount of aluminum scrap is growing, and demand for recycled aluminum is on the rise from the automotive and packaging sectors, while investment is being made into recycling facilities. The number of players installing remelting and recycling furnaces is increasing faster than the well-established primary production market, and the demand for special refractory linings for these secondary furnaces is growing accordingly.

"By product type, monolithic refractories segment to witness highest CAGR during forecast period"

The advantages of operating monolithic refractories are rapidly outscoring shaped refractories and thus contributing to the fastest growth. They are quicker to install, have lower downtime during furnace repairs and furnace re-lining and can be applied to complex or irregular furnace geometries with much less masonry work. Monolithic refractories also produce less material waste, have lower crew expenses, and can be used through methods such as gunning, casting, or ramming, and are becoming more common in maintenance and quick turnaround projects. The trend toward monolithic solutions is gaining momentum in comparison to the traditional shaped refractories as the aluminum producers are turning extra attention to "downtime" and operational efficiency.

"By material, silicon carbide (SiC) segment register fastest growth during forecast period"

Silicon Carbide (SiC) is projected to be the fastest-growing material segment during the forecast period due to its higher thermal conductivity, outstanding thermal shock resistance and durability as compared to the traditional alumina-based refractory. Advantages of SiC include resistance to high-speed heating and cooling, as well as its resistance to erosion by molten metal and slag, which makes it an attractive material for use in furnace linings and crucibles and other high-performance applications where energy efficiency and refractory service are becoming a priority for aluminum smelters and furnaces. Furthermore, continuous developments in SiC-based refractory grades and their increasing use in high-temperature, high-quality applications are creating more growth than the more traditional alumina market.

"By application, electrolytic/reduction cells segment to lead market during forecast period"

The electrolytic cells segment is the largest application segment, followed by the long operation campaign life of reduction cells (5-8 years) that requires a complete relining of the cell. This continuous, uninterrupted operation yields the need for much higher quality refractory material in a larger, more concentrated amount at one time, as opposed to other applications where refractory replacement occurs in a more incremental fashion. Moreover, the size and the requirements for the refractory lining per cell have increased with the increasing size of reduction cells in the aluminum segment to support the production capacity growth and increase efficiency – further increasing the consumption of materials in the segment. The importance of cost protection due to reduction cells is also emphasized here, so that the smelters consider the quality of refractories than in other applications where production is less critical, such as casting or holding furnaces

"Asia Pacific to be fastest-growing regional market during forecast period"

Asia Pacific is estimated to be the largest and fastest-growing regional market for aluminum refractory materials industry, and the region's rapid capacity build-up and new smelter projects in countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, and China are encouraging the market to grow. India is making significant strides in increasing domestic aluminum production to decrease import reliance and cater to the growing demand for metal in the infrastructure, automotive, and renewable energy industries, particularly for solar panel frames and components in EVs, while Indonesia has become a new smelting hotspot with its vast bauxite deposits and government initiatives promoting industrial development. Unlike more mature markets like North America and Europe, the number of aluminum smelters in production has stalled and, in some cases, declined because of high energy costs and environmental restrictions. The construction of new greenfield smelters and the capacity additions of brownfield refinery installations across the region are creating continuous, high-volume demand for refractory installations. Besides, the cost competitiveness of the manufacturing industry and the rising trend of domestic refractory production in order to minimize dependence on imports, along with rising foreign direct investments (FDIs) in the metals industry, further propel the region's growth rate, which, in turn, enables Asia Pacific to continue growing at a faster pace than other regions, despite its sizeable share of the overall market.

Key Players

Leading players in the aluminum refractory materials companies include RHI Magnesita (Austria), Vesuvius (UK), Calderys (France), Saint-Gobain (France), SHINAGAWA REFRA CO., Ltd. (Japan), AGC Inc. (Japan), Dongkuk Industries (South Korea), Krosaki Harima Corporation (Japan), Carborundum Universal Limited (India), and Puyang Refractories Group Co., Ltd. (China), among others.

Investment Funding

The aluminum refractory materials market is witnessing an increasing investment driven by demand for advanced refractory technologies, energy-efficient furnace operations, aluminum recycling, and low-carbon production. Deal activity was volatile during 2021-2025, dropping to 6 deals in 2022 from 7 deals in 2021, rising to 7 deals in 2023, falling to 4 deals in 2024, and rebounding to 6 deals in 2025, a 50% increase over 2024. Funding activity saw more fluctuations, rising from USD 66.5 million in 2021 to USD 281.5 million in 2022 and USD 294.1 million in 2023. Then, funding dropped to USD 62.

NeuralTrust Opens New London Office as UK Enterprises Race to Secure Their AI Agents
Image File
Original HTML

The new office deepens NeuralTrust's investment in the UK, where enterprises are moving AI agents into production faster than most security teams can govern them.

LONDON, Sept. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- NeuralTrust, the Barcelona headquartered platform for securing AI agents, today announced a new, dedicated office in London. The move strengthens the company's presence in the UK, where enterprises are deploying AI agents at pace and running into risks that traditional security tools were never built to catch.

The London office, located at 167 Great Portland Street, becomes NeuralTrust's hub for UK customers, partners, and hiring, supporting a growing base of financial services, technology, and enterprise clients across the region. NeuralTrust already partners with major UK industry bodies, bringing the same expertise that secures agentic deployments for global banks and airlines to leading companies across the UK.

"We built NeuralTrust because AI agents create a new kind of risk that traditional security tools weren't designed to catch," said Joan Vendrell, Co-Founder and CEO of NeuralTrust. "The UK market understands that risk earlier than most, and we want to be here to help solve it."

Why AI Agent Security, and Why Now

As companies move from experimenting with AI to running autonomous agents in production, they hit a problem traditional tools can't see: agents take actions, call tools, and touch data in ways standard security controls were never designed to monitor.

A single compromised or misconfigured agent can leak sensitive data, take an unauthorised action, or get manipulated through prompt injection, at machine speed and often with no human in the loop. Gartner predicts that by 2027, 40% of enterprises will demote or decommission autonomous AI agents because governance gaps only surface after something has already gone wrong in production.

NeuralTrust builds the security layer for this new environment. Its platform includes:

- TrustGate, an AI gateway that sits between applications, agents, tools, and models to enforce policy, control access, and manage traffic.

- TrustGuard, runtime security that detects and blocks malicious or unsafe agent behavior as it happens, across every platform and endpoint.

- TrustTest, a red teaming product that proactively probes AI systems for vulnerabilities before attackers do.

Together, they give CISOs and security teams the confidence to run AI agents with the same rigor they already apply to every other system in the enterprise.

"UK enterprises are moving fast with AI agents, and they need a partner who understands both the opportunity and the risk," said Cameron Brown, UK Managing Director at NeuralTrust. "A dedicated London office lets us work even more closely with the banks, airlines, and enterprises here that are already putting agents into production, so they can do it with the visibility and control it takes to do it safely."

Backed to Grow

NeuralTrust raised a $20 million seed round in June 2026, the largest cybersecurity seed financing raised by an EU company to date, to fund engineering, deepen integration across its platform, and expand internationally. The London office is a direct result of that growth: NeuralTrust plans to hire across sales, customer success and engineering in the UK over the coming months.
