BISMARCK, N.D., Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- BNCCORP, INC. (BNC or the Company) (OTCQX Markets: BNCC), which operates community banking and wealth management businesses in North Dakota and Arizona, today reported financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2026.

Management Commentary

"Our third quarter results reflect the continued strength of our core banking franchise," said Daniel J. Collins, BNC's President and Chief Executive Officer. "Net income increased 14.7% from the third quarter of 2025. Net interest income grew 10.7% year-over-year, and our net interest margin of 3.83% was 10 basis points higher than a year ago and essentially unchanged from the second quarter, as higher loan yields and lower deposit costs more than offset lower yields on cash and securities.

"Loans held for investment grew $14.7 million, or 2.0%, and deposits increased $37.7 million during the quarter. We were pleased to see loan growth in the quarter despite an elevated level of payoffs and prepayments in an environment of rising costs and higher interest rates. Our asset quality remains sound and our capital ratios remain well above regulatory requirements.

"The proposed combination with OppFi, announced on April 29, 2026, is proceeding through the customary shareholder and regulatory processes. Our priorities during this period have not changed: serving our customers, supporting our communities and operating the bank with the discipline that produced this quarter's results. We remain confident in the overall quality of our loan portfolio, the strength of our balance sheet and our ability to navigate ongoing economic and geopolitical uncertainties."

2026 Versus 2025 Third Quarter Comparison

The Company reported net income of $3.0 million, or $0.85 per diluted share, for the third quarter of 2026 compared to $2.6 million, or $0.74 per diluted share, in the third quarter of 2025. Excluding the impact of expenses associated with the merger transaction, the Company reported net income of $3.3 million, or $0.94 per diluted share.

Interest income increased $783 thousand, or 5.9%, to $14.1 million in the third quarter of 2026 from $13.4 million in the third quarter of 2025 driven by higher loan yields, a $4.1 million period-over-period increase in the average balance of loans held for investment and higher average balances of cash and cash equivalents. Those increases were partially offset by lower yields on cash and cash equivalents and a lower average balance of debt securities during the quarter. Average yield on interest-earning assets in the quarter decreased slightly to 5.51% from 5.62% in the third quarter of 2025.

Interest expense in the third quarter of 2026 was $4.3 million, a decrease of $162 thousand from the 2025 period. The cost of core deposits in the third quarter of 2026 decreased to 1.75% versus 1.94% in the third quarter of 2025. The average balance of deposits increased by $60.7 million compared to the third quarter of 2025. The cost of interest-bearing liabilities was 2.24% during the third quarter of 2026, compared to 2.49% in the same period of 2025.

Net interest income for the third quarter of 2026 was $9.8 million, an increase of $945 thousand, or 10.7%, from the third quarter of 2025. Net interest margin increased to 3.83% in the third quarter of 2026 compared to 3.73% reported in the prior year period.

Non-interest income during the third quarter of 2026 was $1.6 million, compared to $1.4 million in the 2025 third quarter. Bank charges and service fees were $16 thousand lower period-over-period primarily due to lower overdraft fees and letter of credit fees partially offset by higher interchange income. Wealth management revenues increased by $113 thousand, or 21.2%, over the prior year period as the Company has benefitted from the addition of new assets under administration and increases in the market value of financial assets year-over-year. Other income was $96 thousand higher than the prior year period as a result of valuation adjustments on deferred compensation, gains on sale of assets and higher SBIC revenue.

Non-interest expense during the third quarter of 2026 increased $743 thousand, or 11.2%, year-over-year, primarily due to a $495 thousand increase in professional services as the Company incurred $461 thousand of expenses in connection with the previously announced agreement to be acquired by OppFi Inc. Data processing fees increased $101 thousand. Inflationary factors over core banking services, card processing charges and higher IT subscriptions drove the largest increases. Occupancy expense increased $52 thousand primarily due to increased building repair and maintenance charges.

In the third quarter of 2026, income tax expense was $902 thousand, compared to $809 thousand in the third quarter of 2025. The Company's effective tax rate was 23.0% and 23.5% for the third quarter of 2026 and 2025, respectively.

Tangible book value per common share on September 30, 2026 was $31.68 compared to $30.26 at December 31, 2025. The Company's tangible common equity capital ratio increased to 10.30% as of September 30, 2026, compared to 9.68% on December 31, 2025.

2026 Versus 2025 First Nine Months Comparison

The Company reported net income of $7.1 million, or $2.00 per diluted share, for the first nine months of 2026 compared to $6.6 million, or $1.86 per diluted share, in the first nine months of 2025. Excluding the impact of expenses associated with the merger transaction, the Company reported net income of $8.9 million, or $2.52 per diluted share.

Interest income increased $3.7 million, or 9.8%, to $41.6 million in the first nine months of 2026 from $37.9 million in the first nine months of 2025 driven by a $20.4 million period-over-period increase in the average balance of loans held for investment and higher balances of cash and cash equivalents. Those increases were partially offset by lower yields on cash and cash equivalents and a lower average balance and yields on debt securities during the current period. Average yield on interest-earning assets in the first nine months of 2026 was 5.47%, compared to 5.51% in the first nine months of 2025.

Interest expense in the first nine months of 2026 was $13.1 million, an increase of $391 thousand from the 2025 period. The cost of core deposits in the first nine months of 2026 decreased to 1.79% versus 1.89% in the first nine months of 2025. The average balance of deposits increased by $84.0 million compared to the first nine months of 2025. The cost of interest-bearing liabilities was 2.27% during the first nine months of 2026, compared to 2.44% in the same period of 2025.

Net interest income for the first nine months of 2026 was $28.5 million, an increase of $3.3 million, or 13.2%, from the first nine months of 2025. Net interest margin was 3.75% in the 2026 nine-month period compared to 3.66% reported in the prior year period.

Non-interest income in the first nine months of 2026 was $4.5 million compared to $4.2 million in the 2025 first nine months. Bank charges and service fees were $42 thousand higher period-over-period primarily due to higher servicing income, interchange income, and letter of credit fees that were partially offset by lower non-use fees on lines of credit and a reduction in deposits held in one-way sell positions. Wealth management revenues increased by $267 thousand, or 17.3%, as the Company has benefited from the addition of new assets under administration and increases in the market value of financial assets year-over-year. Other income was higher than the prior year due to valuation adjustments on deferred compensation and higher SBIC and BOLI revenue that was partially offset by lower gains on sale of assets.

Non-interest expense during the first nine months of 2026 increased $2.9 million, or 14.2%, year-over-year, primarily due to a $2.7 million increase in professional services expense as the Company has incurred expenses primarily related to the previously announced agreement to be acquired by OppFi Inc. The Company also reported an increase of $289 thousand in data processing fees.

POLYTECH Health & Aesthetics and London Regenerative Institute Partner to Advance Adipose Tissue Processing in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery

DIEBURG, Germany and LONDON, Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- POLYTECH Health & Aesthetics, a global leader in breast aesthetics, reconstruction, and body contouring with a presence in more than 90 countries, and the London Regenerative Institute (LRI), a clinician-led institute specializing in regenerative medicine, adipose tissue processing and translational education, today announced a worldwide partnership to advance the use of adipose tissue-based techniques in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.

Fat grafting and adipose tissue-based approaches are increasingly being integrated into aesthetic and reconstructive procedures beyond traditional volume restoration, including refinement procedures and applications focused on tissue quality and regeneration. As a result, these techniques are gaining importance across both surgical and office-based settings.

The partnership brings together two complementary capabilities. POLYTECH contributes an established international commercial infrastructure, long-standing relationships with plastic and reconstructive surgeons, and a training model focused on hands-on education. The London Regenerative Institute contributes a clinician-led research and development environment with a focus on adipose tissue processing, regenerative protocols and structured clinical training.

LRI has developed an integrated ecosystem around adipose tissue applications, including LipoCube and related technologies for different levels of tissue processing. These range from standard fat grafting to more refined approaches such as micro- and nanofat preparation and biologically oriented adjuncts. In parallel, the institute has established training programs and workshops aimed at translating these techniques into routine clinical use.

"Fat grafting and adipose tissue-based procedures are becoming an increasingly important part of modern aesthetic and reconstructive surgery," said Prof. Dr. Karsten Hemmrich, CEO of POLYTECH Health & Aesthetics. "Through the partnership with LRI, we are combining scientific expertise, clinical education and global commercial reach to support surgeons with structured and reproducible approaches in this evolving field."

"One of the major challenges in regenerative surgery is the standardization of tissue processing and clinical workflows," said Prof. Dr. Tunç Tiryaki, Founder of the London Regenerative Institute. "Our work has focused on translating regenerative concepts into practical protocols supported by education and physician training. Together with POLYTECH, we now have the opportunity to make these approaches more accessible."

A central element of the partnership will be the implementation of training-based programs, including workshops, physician education and procedure-oriented guidance. Such formats have been shown to play a key role in the adoption of fat grafting techniques, where outcomes depend not only on the technology used, but also on the consistency of preparation and application.

The partnership involves launching a portfolio, as well as physician education initiatives, workshops, and clinical training programs. Additional details regarding market rollout, training activities, and product availability will be shared in accordance with local regulatory requirement.

Bruttoinlandsprodukt im 3. Quartal 2026 um 0,2 % höher als im Vorquartal

Wirtschaftsleistung in Deutschland nimmt erneut zu

WIESBADEN (ots)

Bruttoinlandsprodukt (BIP), 3. Quartal 2026

"The Pet Variable" Launches as National Coalition to Address Barriers to Health, Housing and Financial Security for Families with Pets

"The Pet Variable" Launches as National Coalition to Address Barriers to Health, Housing and Financial Security for Families with Pets

Led by experts across public health, human healthcare, veterinary medicine, social services and policy, The Pet Variable seeks to build healthier families and stronger communities by making the human-animal bond part of how we understand and support well-being

SAN ANTONIO, Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, national public health experts, veterinarians, researchers and advocates launched The Pet Variable, a new coalition working to make the human-animal bond an enduring part of public health and policy. For millions of Americans, caring for a pet is deeply connected to caring for themselves. The Pet Variable will work across health, housing, financial security, and other systems to advance policies and practices that address barriers to keeping people and pets together and protect families' health, safety, and stability. You can read more about The Pet Variable here: thepetvariable.com.

The coalition launches alongside a new policy proposal put forward by the non-profit AlignCare Health and published in the Journal of One Health Systems, highlighting how barriers to maintaining the human-animal bond can prevent families with pets from accessing healthcare, securing stable housing or protecting their personal safety. When up to 70% of American families include a pet, the paper makes the case for formally recognizing the human-animal bond as a social determinant of health (SDoH) and outlines opportunities for policymakers to incorporate it into future federal, state and local public health frameworks.

"When someone delays their health care because they are worried about what will happen to their pet, struggles to find stable or temporary housing that accommodates their pet, or faces financial strain trying to meet both human and veterinary needs, those aren't separate challenges. They are interconnected," said Anna Stout, MA, CAWA, Executive Director of the Pet Variable. "The Pet Variable coalition was created to advance policies and systems that recognize that connection and support the health and stability of the whole family."

The Pet Variable has nine founding members spanning public health, veterinary medicine, housing, social services, research and policy: CARE (Companions and Animals for Reform and Equity), Annie & Millie's Place, RedRover, BestyBnB, My Dog is My Home, Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA), Ohio State's College of Veterinary Medicine, JVR Strategies, and The Pet Vet Connection.

"At BestyBnB, we've seen how something as simple as providing temporary care for a pet can make all the difference in helping someone access the support they need," said Andy Bond, Co-Founder of BestyBnB. "Our work has shown us that solutions are possible when human services and animal care work together, and these connections need to become the norm rather than the exception. We're proud to be a Founding Member of The Pet Variable and help bring these practical, community-based solutions into broader conversations about public policy and how we care for families."

The Pet Variable will be inaugurated in person at the 2026 One Health Systems Summit in San Antonio on October 31, where public health, veterinary, housing, social services and policy experts will examine how existing systems affect families with pets. The Summit will feature discussions on gaps in current laws, policies and funding; barriers to integrated human and veterinary care; and models for better coordinating workforces, governance and funding across sectors.

New Research Examines the Human-Animal Bond Across Systems

Released alongside The Pet Variable's launch, the new policy proposal, "Recognizing the Human-Animal Bond as a Social Determinant of Health," published in the Journal of One Health Systems (JOHS), examines the growing body of evidence showing how pets can affect human health and well-being, and how barriers involving pets can influence families' access to health care, housing and safety. The proposal makes the case for formally recognizing the human-animal bond as a social determinant of health and highlights key research including:

- Health care: 61.5% of healthcare providers surveyed reported encountering a patient at least once per month who delayed treatment because of pet-related concerns. Pet-related concerns can also influence where patients seek treatment or cause them to leave care early.

- Housing: While 50% of landlords allow pets, only 9% do so without size or species restrictions. Meanwhile, 27% of respondents in another study said the cost of a pet deposit itself created a barrier.

- Domestic violence: Research has found that 18% to 48% of domestic violence survivors delayed leaving an abusive situation out of concern for their pet, while just 18% of domestic violence shelters accept pets nationally.

- Health and economic benefits: Research cited in the paper estimates that pet ownership generated $11.8 billion in U.S. healthcare cost savings from reduced doctor visits and decreased obesity in 2015 alone.

The Journal of One Health Systems was recently launched as a peer-reviewed, open access journal committed to advancing health equity for families that include pets. The journal is building a new body of research on the institutional and systemic factors that shape the health and well-being of people, animals, and the communities they share. That evidence will serve as a resource for healthcare leaders and policymakers and can inform efforts such as The Pet Variable's policy goals. Researchers and practitioners across disciplines are invited to submit manuscripts presenting new studies, evidence, and models here.

Local, State and Federal Policy Push

Across the country, state and local policymakers are increasingly taking action to address barriers facing pet families, from expanding pet-inclusive housing and access to veterinary care to helping people remain with their pets when seeking shelter from homelessness or domestic violence. Earlier this year, Colorado enacted legislation recognizing the human-animal bond as a social determinant of health. At the same time, policymakers in states including Massachusetts and Arizona, as well as New York City, have advanced efforts aimed at reducing barriers facing pet families, particularly in housing.

The Pet Variable will build on this momentum by bringing together experts across sectors to identify policy gaps, elevate models that are working and advance greater recognition of the human-animal bond at the agency, local, state and federal levels.

At the federal level, the coalition will advocate for recognition of the human-animal bond as a social determinant of health within Healthy People 2040, while supporting opportunities across healthcare access, housing, healthy aging, behavioral health, survivor safety, homelessness, veterinary access and other areas where the human-animal bond can have meaningful implications for human health and well-being.

"For too long, policies affecting people and their pets have been developed in separate conversations, even though the challenges pet families face are deeply interconnected," said Jamie Blackburn, Housing Policy Specialist at the MSPCA. "Through our advocacy work in Massachusetts, we've seen how even small, local policy changes can make a meaningful difference for people and their animals. The Pet Variable offers an opportunity to build on that progress, bringing new voices and perspectives into the conversation and making the human-animal bond part of how we approach public policy nationwide."

About The Pet Variable

The Pet Variable is a national coalition working to support healthier families by making the human-animal bond an enduring part of how we think about well-being and shape health policy. Bringing together leaders across public health, healthcare, housing, social services, veterinary medicine, research and other fields, the coalition works to break down policy silos, address pet-related barriers to health, housing and stability, and build greater recognition of the human-animal bond within state and national health policy frameworks.
