Based on a large survey of only verified customers, only companies rated Highest in Quality and Helpful Expertise® earn Diamond Certified.

PETALUMA, Calif., Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Diamond Certified Resource has announced that four companies earned the prestigious Diamond Certified award in October 2026 by scoring Highest in Quality and Helpful Expertise : Cordoza Electric, MaksBuilder, Professional Plumbing Inc. and Radvand Construction.

The Diamond Certified Research Team's methodology ensures only a large, random sample of verified customers are surveyed, which produces the most accurate ratings of local companies available. The team conducts a 12-step rating and certification process that identifies companies delivering high quality and Helpful Expertise to their customers. The process includes collection of a large, random sample of customers; confidential telephone and email surveys of real customers; and verifications of state licenses, insurance, and business practices.

The research team produces a final Diamond Certified Research and Ratings Report. Only companies that score 90 or above on a 100 scale are rated Highest in Quality and Helpful Expertise and earn Diamond Certified. If a company falls short of these standards, it does not earn Diamond Certified, regardless of how much it's willing to pay. Qualified companies agree to follow the Diamond Certified Customer Satisfaction Principles and participate in mediation if needed, and they're backed by the Diamond Certified Performance Guarantee. Ongoing surveys and monitoring help ensure continued high customer satisfaction by Diamond Certified companies.

"Earning Diamond Certified is a significant achievement because most companies can't qualify," says Greg Louie, founder and CEO of American Ratings Corporation, creator of Diamond Certified Resource. "These four companies have demonstrated the quality, Helpful Expertise and customer commitment required to earn the award."

Every Diamond Certified Research and Ratings Report includes detailed statistical results (such as average satisfaction scores and response distributions), verbatim customer survey responses and visual charts that clearly present the findings. "Our Report shows each customer's rating on a 1 - 10 scale of the company's quality, whether they would hire the company again, if the company provided Helpful Expertise and verbatim answers to open-ended survey questions, which adds context to our research-grade report," says David Pak, Director of Ratings at American Ratings Corporation.

Here's more information about the four companies that earned Diamond Certified in October 2026:

Matt Youmans: Week 9 College Football Best Bets

Week 9 College Football Best Bets, Predictions and Picks from Matt Youmans

It’s a bye week for the Hawaii football team, and it’s also time to say goodbye to June Jones, who died Thursday at 73. Jones is Hawaii’s all-time winningest coach with 76 victories in nine years, including a 23-4 record in his last two seasons in 2006-07. He was known for popularizing the run-and-shoot offense, which was much more about shooting than running.

Jones learned the run-and-shoot from its founder, Mouse Davis, the coach at Portland State in the mid-1970s when Jones was his quarterback. Jones played and coached in the NFL and Canadian Football League. He is remembered most for his time at Hawaii, where he recruited record-setting quarterback Timmy Chang, the program’s current head coach. Jones was an innovator who put Hawaii football on the map, and his passing offenses were entertaining. The Wisconsin-Iowa matchup this weekend will be something entirely different, and that game does not make my list of college football best bets for Week 9.

Ohio State (-6.5) at USC

Lincoln Riley’s time in Los Angeles seems to be nearing an end, though he could quiet the critics and coaching hot-seat talk by upsetting Ohio State on what is expected to be a rainy night at the Coliseum. This is the ideal time to catch the Buckeyes, who lost star quarterback Julian Sayin to an arm injury during the win at Indiana and will move forward with either Luke Fahey or Tavien St. Clair. Fahey is the probable starter and both quarterbacks could see action. In limited action this season, Fahey and St. Clair combined for 20 pass attempts and three of those were intercepted. Ohio State has issues on its offensive line and its running attack has stalled, so coach Ryan Day is likely to use a conservative game plan with one obvious mission — get the ball to receiver Jeremiah Smith every way possible.

The Trojans have the talent to match up with the Buckeyes, but are they tough enough to do it for four quarters and is their defense up to the task? USC’s defense was not the problem in a 24-7 loss at Wisconsin last week, when the Badgers totaled only 200 yards. Senior quarterback Jayden Maiava threw two interceptions and was sacked five times. Riley is known for coaching great quarterbacks and soft teams, and Maiava will need to be great in this one. I bet USC +7 early this week and Circa Sports currently shows Ohio State -6.5 (-120), so consider buying the half-point on the underdog at the reasonable price. Under the total of 51.5 is worth a look.

Best Bet: USC +7 (-120)

Illinois (-2.5) at Maryland

With the Terrapins sitting 0-4 in Big Ten play, Mike Locksley was fired as coach heading into a bye week. Longtime assistant Aazaar Abdul-Rahim, a Washington DC native, is the interim head coach. Maryland has a potentially dynamic dual-threat quarterback in sophomore Malik Washington, and that’s more than Illinois can say. In a 21-10 upset of Oregon a week ago, freshman Michael Clayton passed for 84 yards and the Illini were outgained by 112 yards. As VSiN host Tim Murray has pointed out, the fired coach angle has been profitable. Last season, teams with a fired coach went 8-4 ATS in their next game. With Illinois off a big win and on the road, Maryland should have a good shot to stop its 12-game conference losing streak.

Best Bet: Maryland +2.5

Georgia (-12.5) vs. Florida

I’m not crazy about the idea of betting against Georgia coach Kirby Smart after his then-No. 1 team was stunned 27-24 by Auburn. The Bulldogs outgained the Tigers 440-366 but were minus-3 in turnover margin on a day when senior Gunner Stockton threw two picks. Both teams are off byes, and Florida upset Texas 27-24 prior to the week off. The Gators sacked the Longhorns’ Arch Manning five times and will need to put similar heat on Stockton.

This rivalry is moving inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta after being an outdoor cocktail party in Jacksonville since 1995. Smart has owned the Gators, winning five straight and eight of the past nine meetings. Why would this be different? Florida has a much-improved coaching staff now led by Jon Sumrall and offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner. The Gators’ quarterback situation is somewhat concerning, though Aaron Philo and Tramell Jones are both ready to play and receiver Vernell Brown is back from a knee injury. Georgia will win this game again, but hopefully it’s a smart move to take the points.

Best Bet: Florida +12.5

Miami (FL) (-14) at North Carolina

The Hurricanes are up to No. 1 after Georgia’s loss, but on their way to 7-0 there was a speed bump in a controversial 43-35 double-overtime victory over Florida State on Oct. 17. The Seminoles were three-touchdown underdogs. Darian Mensah has been magnificent, completing 81.4% of his passes with 22 touchdowns and one interception, and Malachi Toney is the nation’s second-best receiver. Bill Belichick is known for scheming defenses that limit or take away the opposition’’s top weapon, which in this case is Toney, but Belichick had the personnel to do that in the NFL and this North Carolina defense is nowhere near elite. With Belichick angry after a bad loss to Syracuse, and with the Hurricanes possibly looking ahead to Notre Dame, the dog looks live in Chapel Hill.

Best Bet: North Carolina +14

Oregon State (-6) at Fresno State

Raise your hand if you predicted Oregon State would be one of the best stories in college football. Seeing no hands, I’ll tell you why that’s the case. Braden Atkinson, a sophomore transfer from Mercer, has 24 touchdown passes with two interceptions and his primary target, freshman speedster Jesse Legree, is averaging 22.6 yards per reception with 14 TDs. The Beavers have won five in a row. Fresno coach Matt Entz dropped back-to-back games before a bye and needs to get back on track. The Bulldogs’ stock has bottomed out with this line, so now could be the time to buy the home dog.

Best Bet: Fresno State +6

Last week: 4-1 against the spread

Season: 30-12-5

Three Products Featuring TCL CSOT Displays Named to TIME's Best Inventions of 2026
Image File
Original HTML

SHENZHEN, China, Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- TCL's flagship X11L SQD-Mini LED TV, the XTEINK X4 Pro Pocket eReader and the Framework Laptop 13 Pro have been named to TIME's Best Inventions of 2026 list. All three products feature displays supplied by TCL CSOT.

TCL X11L: Advancing Large-Screen Picture Quality

As the only Chinese TV selected in the consumer electronics category of TIME's Best Inventions of 2026, the TCL X11L features the TCL CSOT WHVA 2.0 Ultra Panel, delivering a native contrast ratio of 7,000:1 and 100% BT.2020 color space coverage. Its display technology combines the TCL CSOT Ultra Color Filter with 20,736 Precise Dimming Zones and 10,000-nit peak HDR brightness. Powered by SQD-Mini LED technology, which delivers an industry-leading color gamut, the X11L captures subtle variations in light, further advancing large-screen picture quality.

In its Best Inventions of 2026 coverage, TIME noted that "those who manufacture TVs are constantly seeking new ways to one-up their competitors, either through unique design or unmatchable image quality." The TCL X11L, the publication stated, "promises the latter with an LED panel that employs 'super quantum dot' technology, designed with the capacity to emit light at more specific nanometer wavelengths than previously available tech. The resulting image is extremely color accurate but also impressively bright."

XTEINK X4 Pro: Bringing Reading to Your Pocket

The XTEINK X4 Pro features a 4.3-inch E Ink display that uses reflective imaging technology and emits no blue light, delivering a paper-like reading experience designed to reduce eye fatigue during extended use. Its capacitive touchscreen and adjustable warm-and-cool front lighting help provide comfortable reading conditions throughout the day and night.

TIME wrote, "While the most popular e-readers are smaller than a hardcover, many are still a bit too large for true grab-and-go convenience. XTEINK filled the gap with its X3 and X4 e-readers." Beyond its compact size, the XTEINK X4 Pro further enhances the reading experience with an upgraded, higher-capacity battery, making pocket-sized reading convenient at any time of day or night.

Framework Laptop 13 Pro: A Repairable, Upgradeable Laptop

The Framework Laptop 13 Pro combines a modular, repairable design with a custom 13.5-inch 2.8K touchscreen supplied by TCL CSOT. The display module measures 2.0 mm thick on the device side and 2.1 mm on the PCB side, with a weight of only 180 g, supporting the laptop's modular architecture. The updated model also features a 74 Wh battery and a haptic trackpad, while its modular design allows users to replace or upgrade components and customize their configuration, from memory and keyboard options to ports.

TIME recognized the laptop for making high-performance computing more repairable and user-customizable. The newly updated Framework Laptop 13 Pro is more "like a bicycle," says Framework CEO Nirav Patel. "Every part is easy to replace." With an included screwdriver and components designed for replacement and upgrades, the laptop enables users to repair and personalize their devices themselves, and help extend product lifespan. By putting repair and customization in users' hands, the Framework Laptop 13 Pro offers a more flexible and sustainable approach to personal computing.

The inclusion of all three products in TIME's Best Inventions of 2026 highlights not only the strength of each product, but also TCL CSOT's end-to-end capabilities from technology R&D to industry collaboration. Looking ahead, TCL CSOT will continue to advance multiple display technology pathways and collaborate with industry partners to expand applications across diverse scenarios, bringing high-quality, slim, eye-care and environmentally friendly display solutions to more users.

PG&E Makes History as First Energy Utility to Earn International Emergency Management Accreditation
Image File

Independent assessment validates emergency preparedness for a utility serving more than 16 million Californians

OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has become the first energy utility in the world to earn accreditation from the Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP), an independent, internationally recognized third-party organization.

The accreditation validates PG&E's emergency management capabilities across preparedness, response and recoveryâessential responsibilities for a utility serving more than 16 million customers in Northern and Central California.

According to EMAP, in order to earn accreditation, organizations must demonstrate compliance with all 73 emergency management standards. PG&E met those standards with zero nonconformances identified during its assessment, demonstrating that its emergency policies, plans and practices meet EMAP's requirements.

PG&E joins only three other private-sector organizations in earning EMAP accreditation. Other accredited organizations include Amtrak and the District of Columbia Water & Sewer Authority.

As part of a five-year effort to earn EMAP accreditation, PG&E benchmarked against other accredited organizations, participated in external accreditation assessments and strengthened its emergency policies and procedures. The effort also built on PG&E's existing process for reviewing and improving how it prepares for, responds to and recovers from emergencies.

"When an emergency happens, our customers and communities need to know we're ready to respond quickly and effectively," said Angie Gibson, PG&E's vice president of emergency preparedness and response. "This accreditation confirms our program measures up to the highest standards in emergency management, and it reflects the years our teams have spent raising the bar for how we protect the people we serve."

Meeting rigorous emergency management standards

EMAP's voluntary, peer-reviewed assessment examines how organizations identify hazards, assess risks, plan for emergencies, manage incidents, coordinate resources and communicate with the public. It also evaluates training, exercises and recovery capabilities, looking beyond written plans to the broader emergency management program.

EMAP-accredited programs span state, local and international emergency management organizations, as well as a small number of organizations outside traditional government emergency management agencies. PG&E's accreditation extends that reach to the energy utility industry for the first time.

"There were so many things that stood out about PG&E far beyond simply meeting the standards," said Jody Ferguson, chair of the EMAP commission and a former county emergency-management director. "They understand that emergencies are ultimately about peopleâthe communities they serve and the employees who support themâand you could feel that commitment throughout the organization."

PG&E's commitment to emergency preparedness extends beyond its own operations. Customers can find resources to help prepare for emergencies and stay informed, including tips on building an emergency supply kit, at PG&E's Safety Action Center web page.

Holiday Shoppers Face Greater Financial Pressure, Making Payment Choice More Important

Seventh annual ETA-TSG study finds 44% of consumers feel more financially stressed, while 57% report negative consequences when merchants don't accept their preferred payment method

WASHINGTON, Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Holiday shoppers are entering the 2026 season under greater financial pressure, and payment flexibility has become one of the clearest ways merchants can win and keep their business, according to a study released today by the Electronic Transactions Association (ETA) and TSG (The Strawhecker Group).

The seventh annual Consumer Holiday Spending Study found that 44% of consumers feel more financially stressed than last year, up from 27% in 2025. Thirty percent report more debt than two years ago, up from 17%, and 33% say they usually take on holiday debt or likely will this year, up from 19%. Concern rose across all eight shopping issues measured by the study, led by inflation (82%). Concern about the affordability of gifts (64%) and managing a budget (57%) each rose 17 percentage points.

Consumers are responding by planning their spending more carefully. Seventy-two percent plan to set a holiday budget this year, and only 23% will shop without one, down from 40% in 2025. Seventy-three percent plan to spend less than $1,000 on holiday purchases. Spending plans are more polarized than last year: 22% expect to spend more, up from 18%, while 32% expect to spend less. This points to a competitive season in which consumers continue to spend but are selective about where those dollars go.

"Consumers are being careful with every dollar this year, and they are paying close attention to how they pay," said Jodie Kelley, CEO of the Electronic Transactions Association. "Merchants that offer the payment options their customers rely on, with clear terms and strong security, are in the best position to win the sale and keep the customer. The payments industry is helping businesses of every size do exactly that."

The study of 1,099 U.S. consumers, conducted September 8â13, 2026, found that payment acceptance directly affects where consumers shop. When a merchant does not accept a shopper's preferred payment method, 24% of consumers would look for the same product at another merchant, and 7% would abandon or postpone the purchase. Another 26% would complete the transaction using a different method but would be less likely to return. In total, 57% report a negative consequence for the merchant.

Newer payment methods are becoming routine. Eighty-one percent of consumers use tap-to-pay regularly, and 89% of those who try it continue using it. Digital wallets and peer-to-peer (P2P) apps also see strong repeat usage, at 61% and 60%, respectively.

"Rising stress and debt make payment flexibility more appealing, and they make transparency and responsible financing more important," said Mike Strawhecker, President of TSG. "Consumers are telling merchants that value and checkout flexibility matter more than speed. The merchants that deliver both will be best positioned this season."

The study also found:

- Online shopping: Free shipping (74%) and the ability to pay how they want (72%) are shoppers' top priorities for online purchases.

- Gift cards: 71% plan to buy at least one gift card, led by retailer-specific cards.

- Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL): Opinion is split, with 37% viewing BNPL favorably and 36% unfavorably. Twenty percent expect to use it more this season than last.

- AI-assisted shopping: 46% plan to use AI tools to compare prices, but only 23% would let AI complete a purchase on their behalf.

The complete study is available here.

Slickdeals Introduces The Sift, a New Way to Plan for Black Friday
Image File
Original HTML

The free feature brings announced Black Friday offers together in one searchable list, helping shoppers discover upcoming offers and plan purchases weeks before the sale

SAN MATEO, Calif., Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Black Friday shopping doesn't have to start on Black Friday. Slickdeals, the community-powered platform helping millions of shoppers discover the best deals online, today introduced The Sift, a free tool that brings announced Black Friday offers together in one list, weeks before the official sale begins. Shoppers can compare upcoming offers, save the products they're interested in and build their shopping lists in advance. At launch, The Sift includes more than 1,500 offers from retailers including Costco, Sam's Club and Lowe's.

Traditionally, shoppers could flip through retailers' Black Friday ad scans to see what was coming and plan their purchases. Today, those offers are scattered across retailer announcements, websites and online discussions, making it harder to get a complete picture of what's ahead.

The Sift lets shoppers browse and search announced offers, filter by retailer, category or discount, and save the items they're considering, with no account required. Some offers stay sealed until each retailer's scheduled release date, so the list keeps growing as more Black Friday ads go public, giving shoppers a reason to check back.

The idea for The Sift grew out of a familiar challenge for deal hunters: keeping track of Black Friday offers before they go live. In recent years, Slickdeals community members have created their own comprehensive Black Friday spreadsheets to organize thousands of offers, earning enthusiastic feedback from fellow shoppers. The Sift builds on that same desire for a more organized shopping experience, bringing offers into a single searchable list that shoppers can sort, filter and personalize.

"Our community showed us what shoppers actually want before Black Friday: not more noise, but a way to see what's coming and decide early," said Johan Mengesha, Head of Content and Partnerships at Slickdeals. "The Sift takes the planning our members were doing by hand and makes it easy for every shopper, so they can go into the sale knowing exactly what they're waiting for."

Unlike Slickdeals' community-vetted deals, which members post, vote on and discuss, The Sift focuses on what retailers have announced is coming. Each listing links to the retailer or, when a corresponding Slickdeals deal becomes available, to that deal's community discussion and score.

Key features include:

- One searchable list: Explore announced Black Friday offers from major retailers in one place.

- Filters that fit your shopping plans: Narrow offers by retailer, category or discount level, or search for a specific product.

- A look at what shoppers are saving: See which offers other shoppers are bookmarking, with a Top Saved badge highlighting popular offers in each category.

- A personal shopping shortlist: Save offers without creating an account, then access your list on the same device and browser. Sign in to sync your list across devices and opt in to email reminders for upcoming offers.

- A preview of what's still to come: Some retailer offers remain sealed until their scheduled release dates, giving shoppers a reason to check back as more Black Friday ads become available.

The Sift will evolve as Black Friday approaches. Around mid-November, it will also feature a selection of top community-voted deals from Slickdeals, helping shoppers move from planning their purchases to finding the deals that are live.

The Sift brings together the early research and planning that happen before Black Friday with the community-driven deal discovery Slickdeals is known for.

The Sift is available now for Black Friday 2026 at https://slickdeals.net/sift/black-friday-deals. Shoppers can start browsing on their phone or computer, with no account required.
