Original HTML

The article outlines how small businesses in the Des Moines metro can prioritize insurance coverage to manage operational and financial risks.

URBANDALE, Iowa, Sept. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What insurance coverage should a small business in the Des Moines metro secure first to protect its operations and finances? That question is answered in a HelloNation article featuring insights from Insurance Expert Ben Buenzow of Buenzow Insurance Group in Urbandale, Iowa.

The HelloNation article explains that selecting the right small business insurance coverage requires understanding the most common risks companies face. Accidents, property damage, employee injuries, and service-related disputes can all disrupt operations or create financial strain. By prioritizing key protections first, business owners can build a business insurance policy that addresses immediate risks while allowing room to expand coverage as the company grows.

According to the article, general liability insurance is often the starting point for many small businesses. This coverage protects companies against claims of bodily injury or property damage caused by business operations. The article notes that accidents involving customers, vendors, or visitors can occur at any time, and the legal costs or settlements that follow may be significant. General liability insurance helps businesses respond to these claims while maintaining financial stability.

Property coverage is typically the next priority once general liability insurance is in place. The HelloNation article explains that property coverage protects buildings, equipment, inventory, and other physical assets from events such as fire, theft, vandalism, or severe weather. Businesses operating in the Des Moines metro may face seasonal storms and wind damage, making property protection especially important for companies with storefronts, offices, or warehouses.

The article emphasizes that accurate documentation and valuation of business assets play a critical role in the claims process. Keeping updated records of inventory, equipment, and building improvements helps ensure that property coverage reflects the true value of business assets. Insurance Expert Ben Buenzow is featured in the article as a source of insights about how organized records and updated policies can reduce complications during a claim.

Workers' compensation insurance is another key component of small business insurance for companies with employees. The article explains that workers' compensation provides medical care and wage replacement benefits for employees who are injured or become ill due to job-related incidents. This coverage also protects employers from many lawsuits related to workplace injuries.

The HelloNation article notes that workers' compensation premiums are influenced by factors such as industry classification, payroll levels, and prior claims history. Businesses that implement strong workplace safety practices and proper employee training can help reduce accidents and manage insurance costs more effectively.

For companies that provide services or professional advice, professional liability coverage may also be necessary. Often referred to as errors and omissions insurance, this policy protects businesses from claims related to mistakes, negligence, or failure to deliver services as promised. The article explains that professional liability coverage can help prevent legal disputes from disrupting business operations or financial stability. The article places this coverage alongside other liability protections that address internal and operational risks.

The HelloNation article also introduces employment practices liability insurance as an important consideration for businesses with employees. This coverage protects against claims related to hiring practices, workplace discrimination, and harassment. The article explains that adding this protection helps businesses manage legal risks tied to employee and client interactions while strengthening an overall small business insurance strategy.

Industry-specific risks are another factor discussed in the article. Different businesses may require specialized policies depending on their operations. Restaurants, contractors, and retailers each face unique exposures that may require additional protection. Insurance Expert Ben Buenzow is again referenced in the article as part of the discussion about aligning insurance coverage with the specific risks faced by businesses in the Des Moines metro.

Optional policies may further strengthen a company's protection plan. The article explains that business interruption insurance can help replace lost income if operations are temporarily halted due to a covered event. Cyber liability coverage may also be important for businesses that store customer data or rely on digital systems, as it provides financial protection against data breaches and cyber incidents.

The article concludes by emphasizing that business insurance policies should be reviewed regularly. As companies grow, add employees, purchase equipment, or relocate, their coverage needs may change. Reviewing insurance policies annually helps ensure that coverage limits, deductibles, and protections remain aligned with current business risks.

What Insurance Does a Small Business in the Des Moines Metro Usually Need First, and How to Prioritize It features insights from Ben Buenzow, Insurance Expert of Urbandale, Iowa, in HelloNation.

Global Times: Xi stresses sustained efforts to expand, strengthen advanced manufacturing

BEIJING, Sept. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged sustained efforts to expand and strengthen advanced manufacturing to provide strong support for advancing Chinese modernization. Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks in a recent instruction, which was conveyed at a national conference on advanced manufacturing held in Beijing on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the Xinhua News Agency.

Efforts should be made to ensure both high-quality development and greater security, pursue smart, green and integrated development, and make the country's industrial chains more self-supporting and risk-resilient, Xi stressed, Xinhua reported.

The remarks come as advanced manufacturing is taking on a larger role in underpinning China's industrial growth and driving structural upgrading. In the first eight months of the year, value-added industrial output of major enterprises increased 5.3 percent year-on-year, while that of high-tech manufacturing rose 14.2 percent.

Experts said that smart, green and integrated developments together chart the key direction for China's manufacturing upgrade, with intelligent technologies providing the foundation, green development shaping long-term competitiveness, and deeper integration helping traditional industries accelerate transformation.

They added that the push will also help strengthen China's indigenous capabilities in key technologies and make industrial and supply chains more independent and resilient, while maintaining openness to global industrial cooperation.

Key directions for upgrading

Xi emphasized the need to accelerate the development of a modernized industrial system with advanced manufacturing as the backbone, and reinforce the foundations of the real economy.

Premier Li Qiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a speech at the conference, Xinhua reported.

Xi's important instructions provide essential guidance for developing advanced manufacturing, Li said, noting that China must treat developing advanced manufacturing as a major strategic task, and press steadily to boost its strength in manufacturing.

Bian Yongzu, executive deputy editor-in-chief of Modernization of Management magazine, told the Global Times that smart development provides the technological foundation, with AI, big data, intelligent equipment and robotics increasingly embedded in production to improve efficiency, precision and automation. Green development points to the long-term direction, as lower-carbon and more resource-efficient production becomes an increasingly important part of industrial competitiveness, he explained.

Integrated development, Bian said, is especially relevant to China's vast manufacturing base. China has both advanced factories and a large number of traditional industries that remain essential to the economy. The key is not simply to replace traditional manufacturing, but to upgrade it by bringing intelligent and green technologies into existing production systems.

Chen Jing, vice president of the Technology and Strategy Research Institute, told the Global Times that the different dimensions of manufacturing upgrading reinforce each other. Intelligent technologies can serve as a common lever, supporting both technological upgrading and emissions reduction, while green development creates new demand for higher-end technologies. Stronger technological capabilities and higher value-added production can in turn support further investment in intelligent and green transformation.

Chen also said competition in advanced manufacturing will go beyond production capacity and prices. Innovation capability, industrial security, product quality and branding, as well as low-carbon capabilities, will become crucial measures of competitiveness.

The broader shift, he said, is from factor-driven growth toward innovation-driven development, and from advantages in individual products toward stronger industrial ecosystems and a higher position in global value chains.

He added that moving in these directions will also help strengthen China's technological self-reliance, reduce excessive reliance on external sources in key areas, and improve its ability to make breakthroughs in critical technologies.

China's advantages include its vast domestic market, complete industrial system, strong engineering workforce and rich application scenarios, Chen said. The large market gives companies room to test and improve new products quickly, while dense supply chains and a broad manufacturing base help shorten the path from R&D to mass production.

Self-reliance, however, does not mean cutting China off from global industrial cooperation, Chen said. A more realistic path is to strengthen the substitutability of key technologies and improve supply-chain resilience, while continuing to participate in international cooperation and global markets.

Breakthroughs across advanced manufacturing

Smart, green and integrated upgrading is already taking shape across China's manufacturing sector, as emerging technologies move faster into industrial application.

The Global Times learned from AGIBOT that its Genie G2 humanoid robot has been deployed on a tablet production line in Nanchang, East China's Jiangxi Province, where it performs precision loading and unloading tasks with a reported success rate of 99 percent.

Yao Maoqing, co-founder of AGIBOT and chairman and CEO of Maniformer Technology, told the Global Times that embodied intelligence is a typical example of the deep integration of AI and advanced manufacturing. China's rich manufacturing scenarios, complete industrial system and growing innovation capacity could accelerate the transition of embodied intelligence from technological breakthroughs to large-scale applications, he said.

The expansion of robotics into real production is not confined to factory assembly lines. DEEP Robotics told the Global Times that it is integrating AI with motion control, environmental perception and autonomous navigation, while deploying robots in energy, power inspection, emergency response and other complex environments.

As Chinese robotic technologies enter a wider range of industrial scenarios, the company said it is also adapting its products and services to overseas markets and building local partnerships.

Behind the expanding applications is an increasingly complete industrial ecosystem. Shenzhen's "Robot Valley," covering about 28 square kilometers, has gathered more than 200 robotics-related companies, including more than 25 humanoid robot manufacturers. Its industrial chain stretches from AI models, tactile sensors and lidar to servo motors, joint modules, robotic arms and dexterous hands, with the localization rate of key components exceeding 90 percent.

The momentum seen in robotics is part of a broader acceleration across China's advanced manufacturing sector. In August, value-added output of equipment manufacturing rose 12.1 percent year-on-year, while high-tech manufacturing expanded 16.7 percent. New growth drivers, led by high-tech manufacturing and digital product manufacturing, contributed more than 60 percent of the growth in industrial output that month. Industrial robot output jumped 34.6 percent year-on-year.

Besides robotics, recent advances have also extended in other fields. The CR450 high-speed train has completed whole-vehicle testing; the Zhuque-3 Y2 reusable carrier rocket achieved a land recovery of its first stage; and China's second domestically built large cruise ship, Adora Flora City, is scheduled for delivery in November.

The transformation is also becoming greener. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), China plans to cultivate 500 zero-carbon factories and develop replicable models, while pushing traditional industries including steel, nonferrous metals and petrochemicals to adopt cleaner raw materials and fuels, optimize product structures and integrate low-carbon technologies.

China will also improve standards for green factories, green supply chains and green industrial parks. By 2030, output from green factories at all levels is targeted to account for 45 percent of the total output of major manufacturing enterprises.

Bian Yongzu told the Global Times that China's expanding advanced manufacturing capacity is increasingly translating into stronger global competitiveness.

As Chinese manufacturers improve technological capabilities, efficiency and product quality, they are not only meeting increasingly diversified domestic demand, but also supplying more high-tech and cost-effective products to overseas markets, he said.

He said this reflects a broader shift in Chinese manufacturing from scale expansion toward higher technological content and stronger competitiveness, while creating more opportunities for industrial cooperation with other countries.

Featured speakers included former U.S. Representative Dan Burton, Paula White-Cain, appearing in her personal capacity, former U.S. Ambassador Randy Evans, and Family Federation USA President Rev. Demian Dunkley.

"Remember freedom. Remember religious freedom," Burton told attendees.

White-Cain emphasized the importance of standing together across faith traditions. "Religious liberty must belong to everyone, or eventually it will belong to no one," she said.

Rev. Dunkley called on those gathered to look beyond divisions and work together for peace, saying, "America is God's hope, not for America, but for the world."

Evans spoke about the role of faith in responding to the challenges facing religious communities today, recalling advice that has guided his own life: "If you walk with God, He'll let you know."

Music also carried the call to prayer and solidarity. Gospel legend T.L. Barrett (Atlanta, GA) performed a tribute alongside the Mother of Peace's granddaughter, Shinyuh Moon. Gospel star Wess Morgan also performed, joined by a youth backup choir singing "This Little Light of Mine."

The gathering also commemorated the 50th anniversary of Rev. Sun Myung Moon's historic 1976 Washington Monument rally with the auction of an original painting by Un Jin Moon, daughter of the Mother of Peace.

Saturday's event called on people of faith to stand together in prayer, defend religious freedom and work across traditions for peace.

Siemba Automates IDOR Detection Across Live APIs
Image File
Original HTML

Broken object level authorization, the access-control flaw behind a large share of real-world API data breaches, is now tested automatically across every endpoint in a customer's API collection. Siemba reads the actual API response to confirm each finding, and returns reproduction steps a developer can act on immediately.

ATLANTA, Sept. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Siemba, a continuous offensive security provider, today announced automated testing for insecure direct object reference (IDOR) as part of its API Security Testing capability, which tests REST, GraphQL and SOAP APIs for the vulnerability classes most likely to expose customer data.

A 200-endpoint API collection can be tested for IDOR in under an hour. The same coverage has typically taken a human tester days or weeks, working endpoint by endpoint, and produced a written report days after that. Siemba compresses both the testing and the reporting into a single continuous run, against the API as it is actually deployed, with no source code required.

What is IDOR, and why does it matter?

IDOR is an authorization flaw. A vulnerable endpoint fails to check whether the identifier a caller supplied belongs to them, so changing a single number or identifier in a request can be enough to view or modify someone else's data. OWASP classifies it as broken object level authorization (BOLA), and ranks it first in the OWASP API Security Top 10.

The flaw does not require a sophisticated exploit. It is conceptually simple but tedious to verify exhaustively across every endpoint and parameter, which makes it one of the easiest classes of vulnerability to miss at scale, and one of the most consistently cited causes of API breach disclosures.

"Most API vulnerabilities aren't exotic," said Sandhya Prashanth, Co-founder and Chief Security Officer, Siemba. "They are one user's session reading another user's data because nobody checked. That is IDOR, and it drives a huge share of real-world breaches. It needs almost no source-level reasoning to find, only the discipline to test every endpoint against it, systematically. That is exactly the kind of work automation should be doing continuously, so security teams can spend their attention on what automation cannot reason about: chained flows and privilege boundaries."

How does Siemba test for IDOR?

Testing starts from the API definition a team already maintains, supplied as an OpenAPI or Swagger file, a Postman collection, or a collection URL. The customer supplies a set of identifiers, and authenticated sessions are handled by the platform. Siemba writes and runs the resulting test cases across every endpoint carrying an ID-like parameter.

Each result is judged by reading the actual API response, not by matching a signature or a status code. A 200 carrying an empty result or a generic error page is not scored as a pass. This is what separates a confirmed finding from the volume of noise that makes automated authorization testing hard to trust, and it is why every finding Siemba returns arrives already written up with reproduction steps rather than queued for a reporting phase.

Each protocol is tested to its own specification. REST endpoints are tested individually across path, query, header and body parameters. GraphQL schemas are resolved through introspection analysis, then tested for schema exposure, query depth and batching abuse, alias overloading, and field-level authorization. SOAP operations are parsed from WSDL and tested for XML external entity injection, signature wrapping, SOAPAction manipulation, and WS-Security misconfiguration.

What automation covers, and what it does not

Confirmed findings are mapped automatically to nine of the ten categories of the OWASP API Security Top 10. The tenth, broken function level authorization, along with chained attack paths and nuanced privilege-boundary testing, is covered by Siemba's certified penetration testers working from the same platform. An expert-led engagement therefore starts from a known baseline instead of beginning reconnaissance from zero, which puts more of the engagement budget into the work only a human can do.

The practical difference is coverage and continuity. A tester under time pressure samples endpoints. Automation tests all of them, across every ID-like parameter in every position. And a point-in-time engagement certifies an API on the day it ran, leaving every endpoint shipped afterward untested until the next one. Continuous testing closes that window.

Built to run against production

Customers control test pace through four throttle presets, from a stealth mode suited to business hours through to a turbo mode for dedicated testing windows, with independent control over requests per second, concurrent test cases, and request timeout. Freeze windows of up to 30 days let teams pause testing automatically around production freezes, peak trading periods, or critical releases, with no manual ticket required.

Together these controls mean IDOR testing runs against production, where the data and the authorization logic are real, rather than against a staging environment that has drifted from it.

Availability

Siemba API Security Testing, including automated IDOR testing, is available today as part of the Siemba platform, alongside the company's existing External Attack Surface Management, Autonomous DAST, and Vulnerability Assessment products.

About Siemba

Siemba combines attack surface mapping, autonomous dynamic testing, AI-driven vulnerability assessment, and expert-led penetration testing into one continuous program. Get to Know the Northwest, One Strong Coffee at a Time
Image File
Original HTML

TACOMA, Wash., Sept. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A good introduction to the Pacific Northwest should include coffee. It should also explain what people are doing between cups. Visit Tacoma-Pierce County's "PNW Starter Pack" itinerary brings together three days of art, food, waterfront exploration and farm country, giving visitors a closer look at the habits and places that make this corner of Washington feel like itself.

The route connects Tacoma, Lakewood, Steilacoom, Puyallup and Sumner through experiences that reward curiosity: browsing vintage racks, learning how coffee is roasted, eating seafood beside the water and lingering on a small-town main street. Flannel is welcome, though visitors are free to develop their own uniform.

Tacoma Art Museum anchors the cultural experience, inviting travelers to consider the region through art and perspectives on the American West. Historic buildings adapted for dining, music and overnight stays bring another layer of local character. Around them, independent shops and neighborhood restaurants make room for discoveries that rarely fit on a conventional sightseeing checklist.

"You can learn a lot about a place by seeing what people make time for," said Matt Wakefield, Chief Marketing and Data Officer for Visit Tacoma-Pierce County. "Here, that might be a conversation with a coffee roaster, lunch on the waterfront or an afternoon spent picking out a pumpkin. This itinerary lets visitors join in and see why those ordinary pleasures are worth a trip."

Food runs throughout the experience, from diner breakfasts and teriyaki to meals built around ingredients from nearby farms. Autumn pumpkin patches and corn mazes bring visitors into the agricultural landscape, while kayaking in Steilacoom offers time on the water when conditions and rental availability allow.

Lodging suggestions range from city hotels to a tiny home on a farm, where alpacas may be more interesting than anything on television. The itinerary includes dining and activity ideas throughout, with a coffee roastery visit to arrange ahead and seasonal outings to match to travel dates.

Explore the full PNW Starter Pack itinerary and find your own reasons to feel at home in Pierce County.

Best Software for Vinyl Cutting Design (2026): CorelDRAW Recognized for Production-Ready Vector Design by Software Experts

Best Software for Vinyl Cutting Design (2026): CorelDRAW Recognized for Production-Ready Vector Design by Software Experts

NEW YORK, Sept. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Software Experts has recognized CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2026 in a new feature examining the best software for vinyl cutting design, highlighting production-ready vector design, precise path editing, and tools built for sign and print workflows. The recognition focuses on the practical requirements facing print shops, sign shops, apparel producers, in-house marketing teams, and professional designers preparing artwork for physical output.

Best Software for Vinyl Cutting Design

- CorelDRAW - professional vector design software for print shops and sign shops, with bitmap-to-vector tracing, precise curve and node editing, contour tools, color management, and flexible export capabilities for preparing production-ready vinyl cutting artwork.

Vinyl cutting depends on more than creating an attractive graphic. Production files require clean vector paths, controlled nodes, accurate dimensions, and output settings suited to cutters, plotters, and related equipment. CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2026 brings vector illustration, page layout, bitmap editing, color management, and production tools into a professional design environment.

The Software Experts feature emphasizes CorelDRAW's ability to support the steps between receiving source artwork and preparing a production-ready file. Customer-supplied logos and graphics can arrive as low-resolution images, flattened artwork, or files with excessive path complexity. CorelDRAW provides tracing, curve editing, contour, and export capabilities designed to help production teams refine those materials before output.

Vector Preparation for Vinyl Cutting

PowerTRACE is one of the central tools highlighted for vinyl-related work. The feature converts bitmap images into editable vector graphics and includes AI-enhanced tracing options designed to preserve detail and improve results from lower-resolution source images. The capability can provide a faster starting point when a shop receives a JPEG, PNG, or other raster asset that needs to become scalable vector artwork.

Vector conversion is only one stage of preparation. CorelDRAW also includes a broad set of curve tools, including freehand, pen, Bezier, b-spline, polyline, 3-point curve, and 2-point curve options. Node controls allow production teams to select, add, remove, and modify nodes while refining the geometry of a design.

That level of path control matters for vinyl cutting because overly complex curves can create unnecessary production issues. Cleaner paths can make artwork easier to inspect, edit, scale, and prepare for downstream equipment. Contour tools also support the creation of defined boundaries around artwork, helping designers establish usable outlines for cut-oriented applications.

CorelDRAW's vector workflow extends to editable effects. Block Shadow creates vector-based shadows with adjustable depth, angle, color, and shape. Because the resulting geometry remains editable and scalable, shadow treatments can become part of production artwork without sacrificing vector control.

Production Features for Sign and Print Shops

The recognition places CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2026 within a broader sign and print production workflow rather than treating vinyl cutting as an isolated task. CorelDRAW supports large-format design, color management, color separations, soft proofing, and work at true 1:1 scale.

True-scale design can be useful for signage, vehicle graphics, banners, wall graphics, and other projects where final dimensions matter throughout production. Artwork can be developed around the intended physical size, supporting more direct preparation for large-format output.

Integrated Pantone color libraries provide access to established spot colors within the design environment. The feature can support branded signage, apparel graphics, print-and-cut work, and other jobs where defined color references form part of the production specification.

Multi-asset export provides another production-oriented capability for shops handling several deliverables. CorelDRAW can organize different pages, objects, and selections for output through a flexible export environment. Jobs involving variations of logos, decals, sign panels, or campaign graphics can therefore be prepared more efficiently.

Print Merge extends the production toolset to variable content. Sequential numbering, variable text, QR codes, and other personalized information can be generated using external data. The capability can support numbered labels, identifiers, event graphics, product markings, and other jobs built from a common design structure.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2026 Workflow Improvements

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2026 introduces workflow changes aimed at reducing routine production friction. Corel positions the release around Artist Intelligence, an approach designed to use intelligent tools as workflow accelerators while keeping creative and production decisions under professional control.

AI-powered background removal can isolate subjects with a single action, while AI-assisted masking in Corel PHOTO-PAINT provides more precise selection control. These tools can help when customer artwork contains backgrounds, photographic content, or visual elements requiring separation before vector preparation or layout work begins.

AI Generate and image remixing provide further options for concept development and image modification. For production environments, practical value comes from shortening repetitive preparation steps while preserving professional oversight. Traced or automatically processed artwork still requires inspection for node complexity, open paths, small elements, overlapping shapes, and equipment-specific output requirements.

Performance improvements are another part of the 2026 release. Corel reports application launch times around three times faster or more, along with smoother font handling, smarter page and export settings, new zoom controls, and improved stability. Those changes target day-to-day efficiency in environments where customer files, proofs, revisions, and output jobs regularly move through the same workstation.

A refreshed interface introduces updated icons, refined controls, and more consistent navigation. CorelDRAW Graphics Suite is available for Windows and Mac, while CorelDRAW Web supports browser-based workflows for subscribers.

Purchase Options and Professional Use

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite offers both subscription and one-time purchase options. The subscription provides access to the current professional suite along with ongoing updates, subscriber features, CorelDRAW Web, cloud-based capabilities, and recurring AI credits.

The one-time purchase allows continued use of the 2026 desktop version without an ongoing subscription. The option does not include every feature, app, workflow, or future update available through subscription and maintenance plans. The one-time purchase also provides a non-recurring AI credit allocation rather than monthly credits.

A 15-day free trial is available with no credit card required. The trial gives print and sign production teams an opportunity to evaluate CorelDRAW Graphics Suite within established workflows before choosing a purchasing model.

Software Experts' recognition centers on the connection between vector design and production readiness. PowerTRACE supports bitmap-to-vector conversion. Curve and node tools provide detailed path control. Contour capabilities help define boundaries. Large-format design, Pantone support, color management, and flexible export tools extend the workflow beyond initial artwork creation.

For print shops and sign shops evaluating software for vinyl cutting design, CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 2026 provides a professional environment built around production requirements. The software supports the progression from incoming artwork to vector reconstruction, path refinement, layout, color preparation, and final output, providing production teams with a consolidated toolset for design and delivery.
