Yeastar Launches NovoOne, an AI-native Multi-tenant Communications Platform for Service Providers

XIAMEN, China, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Yeastar, a global leader in Unified Communications solutions, today announced the official launch of NovoOne, an AI-native, carrier-grade multi-tenant communications platform purpose-built for MSPs, ITSPs, telecom resellers, and carriers managing large and growing user bases.

Today's communication service providers face a trade-off: traditional carrier-grade platforms offer scale but often held back by fragmented components, slow R&D, and legacy UIs, while modern SaaS UC platforms limit customization and inflate costs as they grow. NovoOne eliminates the trade-off, pairing SaaS-grade experience with carrier-grade resilience, control, scalability, and economics.

Built on a next-gen multi-tenant PBX core, NovoOne enables providers to manage unlimited users and tenants from a single deployment with hard per-tenant isolation. Its Kubernetes-native infrastructure scales horizontally to cut server costs, while high availability and geo-redundancy ensure resilient service delivery. Service providers can confidently grow their customer base or enter new markets at lower costs.

Beyond its carrier-grade foundation, NovoOne helps providers differentiate. Alongside full phone system features, it delivers native softphone apps for seamless mobility, rich APIs for easy customization, plus powerful built-in AI capabilities (AI Agent, transcription, sentiment analysis, and more) that open new, higher-value services.

NovoOne also delivers total commercial control. Tenant-level white-labeling, flexible packaging, and built-in reseller management put margins and branding entirely in providers' hands. Additionally, NovoOne's concurrent-call-based licensing model enables highly profitable oversubscription, makes it easy to support thousands of customers with just a handful of licenses.

"Service providers shouldn't have to choose between scale, control, resilience, and profitability," said Arya Zhou, Head of Yeastar Global Sales. "We built NovoOne to end that compromise. By combining carrier-grade multi-tenancy with rich features and solid control, we give our partners the foundation to scale their communications business profitably, on their own terms."

XDI and Veridion unlock a new era of company climate risk analysis

Partnership connects continuous company intelligence with engineering-based climate risk models to reveal where and how physical risk affects companies

NEW YORK, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Launched during Climate Week NYC, a partnership between XDI (Cross Dependency Initiative) and Veridion will expand company-level physical climate risk analysis.

It combines XDI's asset-level climate and engineering analysis with Veridion's intelligence on where companies operate and what happens at each site.

XDI's Multiple Company Intelligence (MCI) assesses physical climate risk across more than 40,000 companies and subsidiaries, including when clients lack complete asset-location data. Veridion holds information on approximately 600 million companies and more than two billion buildings. Its data could expand MCI's coverage and connect operating sites to corporate groups, with detail on each site's activity, scale, status and data confidence.

Dr Karl Mallon, CEO of XDI, said: "XDI has long been able to discover company assets and apply detailed physical climate risk analysis across entire portfolios. Veridion brings extraordinary richness to that foundation. Understanding what happens at each site, its role in the business and the confidence behind that information lets us ask far more sophisticated questions about risk and resilience."

Florin Tufan, CEO of Veridion, said: "An address is an essential starting point, and we have more than two billion buildings mapped. But to understand the risk and resilience a company actually carries; you also need to know what happens there and how critical that operation is to the wider business. We connect sites to the companies behind them and add the operational detail analysts need. Combined with XDI's climate and engineering models, that gives us the potential to assess company risk at a scale and level of detail that was previously out of reach."

The partnership is already being applied in a collaboration with Morningstar Sustainalytics to further develop its physical climate risk product for asset managers and asset owners. The goal is to translate asset-level climate hazard exposure into financially relevant insights for investment decisions.

The combined approach supports analysis of direct damage and disruption, selected indirect risks, and company resilience across sites and portfolios.

Veridion is hosting an in-person event during Climate Week NYC. Register to attend.

Imperial College London moves to Canvas for university-wide digital learning environment
Image File
Original HTML

Imperial unites its diverse digital landscape under a single, flexible Canvas ecosystem, setting a new standard for consistency and accessibility for 28,000+ students and staff.

LONDON, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Instructure, the leading learning technology ecosystem and maker of Canvas, today announced that Imperial College London will launch Canvas as its new virtual learning environment (VLE) across the institution on 14 September. The successful 10-month implementation streamlined course migration and supported a comprehensive change management and data strategy, enabling staff to easily access and redesign their teaching materials.

Canvas will replace multiple legacy systems used across Imperial, creating a single central hub for learning and teaching for more than 24,000 students and 4,000 staff. The move is designed to provide a more consistent digital experience across departments while retaining the flexibility required by Imperial's diverse disciplines and programmes.

Canvas will make it easier for staff and students to navigate, teach, learn and collaborate, while supporting greater efficiency, insight and resilience across the institution. Accessibility is also central to the new environment, with built-in features including screen reader compatibility, alternative text and customisable settings designed to enable every student to engage fully and equitably.

Professor Alan Spivey, Vice Provost (Education and Student Experience) at Imperial College, said: "At Imperial, we are continually investing in the learning experiences we provide our students. Our move to Canvas marks an important step in strengthening the digital foundations that support world-class teaching across the university."

"As a global leader in science, engineering, medicine and business, we require a learning platform that is intuitive, reliable and capable of supporting innovative teaching at scale. This transition is about ensuring that our learning environment reflects Imperial's ambition to equip students with the knowledge, skills and opportunities they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world."

Henry Clifford-Jones, Managing Director of EMEA at Instructure, said: "Imperial's decision reflects a broader shift we are seeing across higher education; institutions are looking beyond individual digital tools and thinking about how technology can create a more connected and consistent learning experience.

"We are proud to support Imperial as they consolidate multiple legacy systems and nearly 100 integrations into a single Canvas ecosystem, streamlining internal workflows and staff training while retaining the flexibility to support the unique needs of different faculties."

The rollout is being delivered through Imperial's centrally based Digital Education Platform Project (DEPP), which has brought together teams from across the institution to prepare Canvas for its university-wide launch. The project aims to establish a single VLE as the foundation for an improved, user-centred digital education service.

Independent research firm names RWS a Leader in latest Localization Services analyst report

RWS achieves maximum scores across 18 criteria, including Vision; Innovation; AI search, semantics, and knowledge enablement; and Hyperlocalization and cultural adaptation

MAIDENHEAD, England, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- RWS (AIM: RWS.L), a global AI solutions company, today announced that it has been named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Localization Services, Q3 2026.

The evaluation assesses localization service providers across their current offerings, strategy and customer feedback, providing enterprises with an independent view of the market.

Forrester's report describes RWS as bringing 'one of the field's clearest views of localization as AI infrastructure.'

RWS scores 5.0 across 18 criteria

RWS received the highest possible score of 5.0 in 18 of the 27 criteria evaluated.

These include Vision; Innovation; LLM investment and modernization; Data, model and AI risk controls; AI search, semantics and knowledge enablement; Hyperlocalization and cultural adaptation; Context and data strategy; Regulated localization and compliance; Multimodal localization and Talent strategy.

To RWS, the breadth of these scores reflects how localization is changing as enterprises adopt AI across global content and customer experiences. Technology can increase speed and scale, but organizations still need the language, cultural and domain expertise to make that content accurate, relevant and trusted in every market.

Forrester's evaluation also acknowledges RWS's 'superior hyperlocalization, AI-readiness services, context handling, and multimodal localization...'

Forrester's take. The report identifies that 'RWS is a strong fit for global enterprises, especially those in regulated or brand-sensitive markets that need cultural relevance and compliance across all touchpoints.'

Benjamin Faes, Chief Executive Officer of RWS, said:

"For us, being named a Leader reflects the leadership RWS has built over many years of investment in language technology, AI and specialist expertise. What's particularly encouraging is the breadth of the assessment – from vision and innovation to AI, hyperlocalization and regulated content.

"I'd also like to acknowledge the rigor of Forrester's evaluation. They looked closely across our strategy and capabilities and spoke directly with our customers. That makes the findings particularly meaningful to us – especially hearing customers describe RWS as a highly trusted partner and an extension of their own teams.

"For our customers, that combination of technology, expertise and trust matters. They want to move faster with AI without losing the cultural understanding, control and quality their brands depend on. That's exactly where we believe RWS has an important role to play."

RWS combines proprietary technology with a global network of cultural, language, data and domain specialists to help enterprises create, transform and manage content across markets.

As AI becomes more deeply embedded in global content operations, RWS is developing its technology and services around a simple principle: AI works better when it understands the language, culture and context of the people it serves.

Pearson research warns of a 'triple capability gap' emerging as AI adoption outpaces education and training in skilled occupations
Image File
Original HTML

SHANGHAI, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Pearson (FTSE: PSON.L) today launched new research, For Every Future: Preparing Early-Career Skilled Trade, Technical and Service Talent for an AI-Infused World, at the WorldSkills International Conference 2026 in Shanghai. The report finds that as AI transforms skilled occupations, early-career talent is entering the workforce without the job-specific AI literacy, human skills, and practical experience it needs.

What's new: Pearson's research warns of a growing 'triple capability gap' opening across skilled trade, technical and service occupations that keep hospitals, factories and infrastructure operating. This challenge is being driven by two trends. AI is reshaping these jobs faster than education and training systems can adapt, while experienced workers are retiring and taking decades of practical knowledge with them. Together, these shifts are changing how expertise is built – leaving a new generation of workers at risk of becoming AI-rich but experience-poor.

As a result, employers increasingly need workers who can combine three capabilities at once: the judgment to apply AI safely and effectively, the human skills AI can't replace, and the hands-on expertise traditionally passed from one generation to the next. Left unaddressed, Pearson cautions the gap could make it harder for employers to maintain safety standards, sustain essential services and support economic growth.

Why it matters: The challenge is no longer simply filling jobs. Skilled trade, technical and service occupations remain essential to modern economies, but the way expertise is developed within these careers is shifting. As AI reshapes these professions and experienced workers leave the workforce, the "triple capability gap" is making it harder for employers to sustain essential services and economic growth.

Key findings:

- AI is rapidly reshaping occupations not typically associated with the AI conversation. The bulk of the AI conversation has been centered on office-based knowledge work, but less attention has been given to how AI is changing skilled trade, technical and service jobs.  As AI becomes embedded in their daily work, judgment, safety and human oversight become even more valuable. The challenge is ensuring education, training, and workplace learning keep pace with the changing nature of these roles. For example, one UK pharmacy industry participant said it takes 2-3 years to revise pharmacy technician education and training standards, while fewer than half of industrial machinery mechanics feel their training is preparing them for AI-enabled work.

- Demand is rising for skilled trade, technical and service workers-at the same time these jobs are being reshaped by AI. Much of that demand will be driven by people retiring or leaving skilled jobs. 99% of skilled job openings in the UK, and 98.5% in the US, stem from replacing workers who retire, change careers, or leave the workforce. It's not only about filling jobs; it's about developing expertise faster and ensuring practical knowledge is passed from one generation to the next.

- A new triple capability gap is emerging, changing how expertise is built. Skilled trade, technical, and service workers face a unique challenge. Their jobs require three things simultaneously: role-specific AI literacy and critical judgment (understand when to use AI, when to question it and how to apply it safely and responsibly), the human capabilities (communication, collaboration, adaptability, emotional intelligence and learning agility), and the institutional knowledge that retiring experts are taking with them.

- Closing these gaps requires education, training, and workplace learning to evolve. They must build role-specific AI literacy and critical judgment, strengthen durable human capabilities, and expand opportunities to develop practical know-how through mentoring, observation, feedback, simulation, and hands-on experience.

- The cost of inaction is significant. If these challenges aren't addressed, employers will struggle to find and develop the skilled workers they need, while expertise gaps could affect safety-critical occupations and essential services. 98% of surveyed pharmacy technicians rated exactness and accuracy as extremely important, while 44% rated the consequences of error as extremely serious.

What people are saying: Sharon Hague, President, English Language Learning & UK CEO, Pearson, said: "We're entering a period where many of the workers who keep hospitals, factories and critical infrastructure running will need three things at once: the judgment to work safely with AI, the human skills technology can't replace, and the hands-on expertise traditionally learned from experienced colleagues. The challenge is that demand for these workers is rising just as many experts are retiring and taking decades of practical knowledge with them. If we don't rethink how expertise is developed, the gap between what employers need and what workers can do will continue to grow."

The report: Read For Every Future: Preparing Early-Career Skilled-Trade, Technical and Service Talent for an AI-Infused World

About the Research: The research combines labour market and AI exposure analysis in the US, UK and China with surveys, interviews and roundtables involving employers, educators, industry bodies, workforce experts, students and early-career workers, plus in-depth analysis of pharmacy technician and industrial machinery mechanic roles.

RTX's Pratt & Whitney Canada signs four-year PW127M maintenance agreement with AirBorneo Airways

Work will be performed at the company's newly expanded Singapore facility

SINGAPORE, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Pratt & Whitney Canada signed a four-year agreement with AirBorneo Airways to provide comprehensive maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for the PW127M engines powering its ATR 72-500 regional turboprops through 2030. Quarterhill Introduces TOPAS-Registered Intersection Solution in United Kingdom

Company expanding into the UK traffic signal market with the new TOPAS 2505B-registered version of its TMB-13X product

TORONTO, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Quarterhill Inc. ("Quarterhill" or the "Company") (TSX: QTRH) (OTCQX: QTRHF) – a leading technology innovator providing next-generation, AI-driven Intelligent Transportation System ("ITS") solutions – today announced its proprietary, multilane intersection radar "TMB-13X" has achieved TOPAS 2505B registration, a requirement for any traffic signal detection technology deployed in the UK. This accomplishment enables Quarterhill to provide UK transport authorities with a reliable, easy-to-use and cost-efficient product; enabling safer and more efficient roads with industry-leading deployment times.

Designed for complex, multilane intersections, the TMB-13X provides traffic authorities with an above-ground alternative to traditional inductive loop detection, helping reduce the roadwork, installation costs and traffic disruption associated with in-road sensors. The product can monitor vehicles and cyclists across multiple lanes; and uses up to nine configurable virtual detection loops based on speed, direction of travel, movement and presence. It also features a compact four-meter blind zone and an intuitive browser-based configuration interface accessible via Wi-Fi to enable faster deployment and simpler ongoing maintenance.

The United Kingdom is one of the most significant markets for traffic signal detection technologies in Europe. Transport for London alone operates approximately 6,400 traffic signal sites, including approximately 4,000 signalized junctions and 1,500 pedestrian crossings, supported by more than 16,000 traffic detectors.1 This registration builds on Quarterhill's existing presence in the UK market, extending the Company's ITS technologies into intersection detection alongside its established UK operations. With TOPAS approval now secured, Quarterhill can now offer the TMB-13X product to UK traffic signal controller manufacturers, system integrators and transport authorities across the country.

"Bringing together more than 30 years of radar-based product development in a solution designed to address the complexities of modern intersections, the TMB-13X reflects our continued focus on technologies that make transportation infrastructure safer and more efficient," said Donna Bergan, Vice President of Intelligent Transportation Systems at Quarterhill. "Securing TOPAS registration means we can extend these capabilities to customers across the UK, providing traffic engineers with a flexible solution that can simplify installation and ongoing maintenance, while minimizing disruption to road users."

The TOPAS registration reflects Quarterhill's broader approach to international growth: adapting its ITS technologies to meet the specific regulatory and technical standards of each market it enters. Quarterhill's Smart Transportation and Enforcement solutions are currently deployed across North America, Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

This milestone adds to continued momentum across Quarterhill's ITS business. In August 2026, the Company reported its strongest quarter of profitability in more than three years. Quarterhill is also progressing toward the expected fourth-quarter 2026 closing of its previously announced acquisition of Conduent's tolling solutions business, which is expected to significantly expand the Company's scale and further advance its strategy to build a larger, more focused ITS platform.

The TOPAS-registered TMB-13X is now available for order.

TIER IV releases a reference design for autonomous racing kart systems, used by Autonomous Driving AI Challenge participants
Image File
Original HTML

TOKYO, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- TIER IV, the pioneering force behind open-source software for autonomous driving, has developed a reference design for autonomous racing kart systems and released its software and design information in a public GitHub repository. Built on Autoware, open-source software for autonomous driving, the reference design is provided alongside an environment that supports development and evaluation from simulation to real-world vehicle testing. The Autonomous Driving AI Challenge, organized by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (JSAE), was held from July to September 2026, and a total of 240 teams comprising approximately 600 participants used the reference design as a common development platform throughout the qualifying and final rounds. Through this initiative, TIER IV supports open technology development and the cultivation of the next generation of engineers.

Developing autonomous driving systems requires integrating a range of components, including vehicles, sensors, onboard computers, and software, into a system capable of operating in the real world. Evaluating the resulting technologies also requires simulation and real-world vehicle testing environments. Building these development and evaluation environments from scratch can place a significant burden on developers entering the field of autonomous driving, creating barriers to technology development and talent cultivation.

The Autonomous Driving AI Challenge provides students and working professionals with varying levels of technical experience an opportunity to develop autonomous driving technologies. By enabling participants to gain hands-on experience in autonomous driving software development and put their technical skills to the test, the competition aims to foster talent and encourage broader participation in the field. The final rounds held on September 19-20, 2026, featured racing karts and included both simulation-based and real-world vehicle challenges.

TIER IV developed the reference design for autonomous racing kart systems to give developers a common starting point that they can modify and extend to suit their objectives. Built on Autoware, the reference design includes autonomous driving software, a simulator, and other design information released on GitHub. By combining these publicly available resources with real vehicles and development and evaluation environments, TIER IV enabled participants to focus on developing and improving autonomous driving algorithms and AI models without having to build an entire system from scratch.

The reference design and its associated development and evaluation environments comprise the following main components:

- Vehicle and hardware configuration: TOM'S EV racing kart, global navigation satellite system (GNSS), inertial measurement unit (IMU), and onboard computer

- Autonomous driving software: Open-source software for racing karts built on Autoware

- Simulation environment: A publicly available simulator that reproduces racing kart driving, together with an online environment for evaluating developed software during the competition

- Development and evaluation tools: A web platform supporting software setup and execution, as well as the review of driving results

The autonomous driving software, simulator, and design information are available through the public GitHub repository. Real vehicles and the competition's online evaluation environment were provided in combination with these publicly available resources.

At the competition, 240 teams comprising approximately 600 participants used the reference design as a common technical foundation, developing and improving autonomous driving systems through their own ideas and expertise. Their exploration of different technical approaches from a shared foundation provided a practical example of how an open development platform can support technology development and talent cultivation.

TIER IV is working to realize the democratization of autonomous driving by expanding the open-source ecosystem centered on Autoware worldwide. Going forward, TIER IV will continue to expand its reference design offerings and enhance development and evaluation environments through open source. By collaborating with partners across industry, research, and education, the company aims to grow an ecosystem that supports the real-world deployment of autonomous driving.
