SuperX (NASDAQ: SUPX) Launches AI Token Platform and AI Apps at Tech Week Singapore 2026

New products extend SuperX's full-stack capabilities from AI infrastructure into model access and AI application workflows

SINGAPORE, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- SuperX AI Technology Limited (NASDAQ: SUPX) ("SuperX" or the "Company"), a full-stack AI infrastructure solutions provider, today announced the launch of its AI Token Platform and AI Apps at Tech Week Singapore 2026 at Booth 5-K45 on September 29 and 30, 2026, at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, 10 Bayfront Avenue, Singapore.

The AI Token Platform provides unified access to third-party AI models through a single interface and is metered in AI inference tokens, the usage-based units of model input and output as defined by each model provider. Together, the two products extend SuperX's full-stack AI strategy from infrastructure delivery to model access and business applications.

"AI infrastructure provides the foundation, but customers also need reliable access to models and practical tools to put the models to work," said Kenny Sng, Chief Technology Officer of SuperX. "By expanding our portfolio with model access and application tools, we help customers accelerate their journey from compute resources to real-world AI applications."

AI Token Platform for Unified Model Access and Intelligent Routing

Organizations using multiple AI models often need to manage separate provider accounts, APIs and integrations. The AI Token Platform is designed to simplify this process by providing unified multi-model access and AI services for businesses, including AI application developers, internet companies and software companies.

- Unified model access: As of the date of this release, and subject to the applicable model provider's terms, the platform provides access to more than 100 AI models from over 10 providers through a single standardized, OpenAI-compatible API and SDK. Customers can access and switch between text, image, video and audio models without building a separate integration for each provider.

- Model evaluation: Model Plaza, the platform's model catalogue and comparison environment, allows users to test and compare models using their own prompts and evaluate outputs based on performance and estimated cost before selecting a model.

- Intelligent routing and service continuity: The same model can be connected through multiple providers. Requests can be routed based on factors such as region, latency, pricing and service availability, with the option to redirect requests when a provider becomes unavailable.

These capabilities give development teams greater flexibility to select and switch models as performance, availability and commercial requirements change.

AI Apps for Professional Content Creation

AI Apps is designed to support professional teams and enterprise customers across a range of content creation workflows. The platform brings different models, creative tools and digital assets into a shared environment for creating and managing image, video and audio content.

- Shared creative workspace: AI Apps allows users to generate, edit and continue developing content without repeatedly moving assets between separate platforms.

- More precise and accessible creation: Annotations, targeted edits, text replacement and asset references give users greater control over generated content. Built-in Skills (pre-configured instruction templates) translate simple instructions into more complete prompts and execution strategies.

- Reusable assets and team workflows: Generated content can be saved, shared and reused across projects, subject to the terms of the model used to generate it. Teams can collaborate on a shared canvas and track the associated model usage costs.

AI Apps extends model capabilities beyond individual prompts and outputs into a more structured environment for professional content production.

Access to the AI Token Platform and AI Apps is subject to customer onboarding and screening procedures and to applicable export control, sanctions and acceptable use requirements.

At Tech Week Singapore 2026, SuperX will demonstrate the new products alongside its AI compute and AI data center solutions. Visitors can explore these capabilities at Booth 5-K45 on September 29 and 30, 2026, at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, 10 Bayfront Avenue, Singapore.

HONOR's Middle East Breakthrough: From Smartphone Challenger to 2nd largest smartphone vendor in the Middle East

In a year when smartphone shipments fell almost everywhere across the region, one brand grew by more than a third — building a position that now runs from Riyadh's malls to a factory floor outside Cairo.

KUWAIT CITY, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- There is a particular kind of result that tells you more than a good quarter does: growth in a market that is contracting. It strips away the usual explanations. Rising tides, seasonal demand, a category-wide upgrade cycle none of them apply when everyone else is moving backwards.

That is the position HONOR found itself in through 2026. According to Omdia, the Middle East smartphone market declined 13% year on year in the first half. HONOR grew 35%, the only leading brand in the region to grow at all, and moved into second place. The first quarter had already delivered 73% growth.

Understanding how it happened requires looking market by market, because the region behaved very differently depending on where you stood.

Winning the middle, market by market

The commercial engine was the mid-to-high-end. In the $300–500 price band, HONOR took a 24% share in the first quarter of 2026, growth of 130% year over year that put it within striking distance of Samsung in the segment.

Individual products did the work. The HONOR X9d is built around durability and battery life, a proposition that translates unusually well across the region's climate and became a top seller in both Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The HONOR 600 Series delivered double-digit growth in what the company calls the accessible flagship segment.

The UAE: premium proving ground

If Saudi Arabia is where HONOR proves scale, the UAE is increasingly where it proves premium.

The retail build-out has been deliberate. HONOR opened its first UAE Experience Store at Dubai Festival City Mall, followed by Abu Dhabi's first authorised experience store and service centre, then Al Reem Mall, and in January 2026 a store at BurJuman in Dubai.

That framing is the point. The UAE stores are designed to sell the ecosystem — laptops, tablets, wearables, connected devices — to a market with high disposable income, dense mall culture and consumers who will pay for premium when they can touch it first. In a country where the smartphone market itself is barely growing, ecosystem attachment is where the incremental revenue lives.

Saudi Arabia: scale and infrastructure

Saudi Arabia remains the anchor. HONOR is now the number one tablet brand in the Kingdom by market share, its AIoT business has grown more than 500%, and the HONOR Earbuds Clip alone has passed 100,000 units sold locally.

Behind that sits the big investment: a retail footprint growing to 25 HONOR Experience Stores, eleven of them inside shopping malls, supported by a new contact centre and 16 service centres. Service networks generate no headlines and take years to build. They are also what determines whether a consumer trusts a brand with a second purchase, a more expensive purchase, or an entirely new category — and HONOR has signalled that B2B push is coming to the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia has also become a key stage for HONOR's technology ambitions. At LEAP 2026 in Riyadh, HONOR presented its ALPHA PLAN: From Vision to Reality, with the Robot Phone making its Middle East debut. The showcase brought together HONOR's vision for AI, robotics and intelligent devices, demonstrating its ambition to move beyond conventional smartphones.

LEAP also reinforced Saudi Arabia's role in HONOR's regional strategy, giving the company a major platform to bring its AI device ecosystem vision to one of the region's most important technology markets.

Egypt: from market to manufacturing base

The most structurally significant move, though, is happening in Egypt — and it has attracted the least attention.

HONOR is expanding its facility at 10th of Ramadan industrial city outside Cairo, its first industrial site anywhere outside China, toward an annual capacity of three million smartphones. The 8,000-square-metre site runs five production lines and two surface-mount technology lines.

The factory is not only about Egypt, as it is intended as an export base into Africa and the wider Arab world, lowering logistics costs, sidestepping import barriers and placing supply closer to the markets it serves. In a period defined by supply-chain fragility and component cost inflation, that is a meaningfully different kind of commitment from opening a showroom.

Building the AI Device Ecosystem

HONOR now describes itself as an AI device ecosystem company rather than a smartphone manufacturer, under a strategy it calls the ALPHA PLAN, a progression from intelligent phone, to intelligent ecosystem, to what it terms an intelligent world.

Its most visible proof point is the Robot Phone, which pairs on-device AI with an integrated robotic gimbal so the device can move, track a subject and respond to its surroundings rather than waiting to be instructed, with imaging developed alongside ARRI, a company that has spent more than a century in professional cinema. The wider roadmap extends to AI glasses, robotics and PCs.

The strategic argument is that intelligence is becoming commoditised in software, and the differentiation moves to hardware capable of sustaining it — battery density, thermal management, durability. In a region where heat and dust are operating conditions rather than edge cases, that argument lands more naturally than it might elsewhere.

The bigger story is that HONOR's regional expansion is no longer being driven by smartphones alone. From growing retail and ecosystem presence in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, to manufacturing in Egypt and a broader AI strategy showcased at LEAP, the company is building the infrastructure for its next phase. The question now is how far that momentum can extend as HONOR moves from being a fast-growing smartphone brand to becoming a broader AI device ecosystem across the Middle East and Africa.

Lilly launches the Lilly Change the Course Commitment, aiming to address treatment gaps in diabetes and obesity in LMICs
Image File
Original HTML

Through this commitment, Lilly aims to expand access to its innovative diabetes and obesity medicines to as many people in resource-limited settings, including low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), as in high-income countries, before 2040

Key highlights:

- Lilly today launched the Lilly Change the Course Commitment, a new global health initiative with a simple, yet ambitious goal: parity in the number of patients treated. This means treating as many people in resource-limited settings, including LMICs1, as in high-income countries.

- As a medicine company and a leader in diabetes care for over a century, Lilly is stepping up to help close a long-standing access gap in prevention, detection, treatment and care of diabetes and obesity.

- As part of the commitment, Lilly will register its innovative diabetes and obesity medicines in LMICs and work with health systems, regulators, global health organizations, NGOs and other collaborators to help more people in resource-limited settings access the medicines and care they need.

- The commitment follows the completion of the Lilly 30x30 global health initiative, which helped expand access to quality healthcare for 40 million people in resource-limited settings in 2025, surpassing its original goal of helping 30 million people annually by 2030 — five years ahead of schedule.

INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY) is launching today the Lilly Change the Course Commitment, a new global health initiative that aims to achieve parity in patients treated with Lilly's innovative diabetes and obesity medicines. This means treating as many people with diabetes and obesity in resource-limited settings, including low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), as in high-income countries before 2040. Today, for every 4 people in high-income countries who have access to Lilly's diabetes and obesity medicines, only 1 person in low- and middle-income countries can reach them. To close this gap, Lilly will focus on three pillars: starting from clinical development of medicines, their registration and access pathways and health systems strengthening.

The announcement follows the completion of the Lilly 30x30 global health initiative five years ahead of schedule, which expanded access to quality healthcare for 40 million people in resource-limited settings in 2025 – exceeding its original goal of reaching 30 million people annually by 2030.

Why is Lilly launching a new commitment now?

4 in 5 adults with diabetes and 7 in 10 adults with obesity live in LMICs, 2-4 and prevalence continues to rise. Historically, people in resource-limited settings have waited decades to access innovative medicines, long after their availability in high-income countries. As a result, the therapies capable of changing the trajectory of diabetes and obesity are still not reaching the people who need them.

For more than a century, Lilly has been developing innovative medicines for people living with diabetes and obesity. As a leader in this field, Lilly aims to ensure that access to medicines keeps pace with scientific innovation.

David A. Ricks, Lilly chair and CEO: "For 150 years, Lilly has addressed some of humanity's most pressing health challenges by turning science into medicines that improve lives. That same commitment to scientific progress has transformed how we understand and treat diabetes and obesity, conditions that affect more than a billion people worldwide. But innovation only matters when it reaches the people who need it. That is why, as a medicine company that puts health above all, we are now going further. With the Lilly Change the Course Commitment, we aim to treat as many people in resource-limited settings as we do in high-income countries with our diabetes and obesity medicines. Innovative medicines like Foundayo (orforglipron), an oral treatment that can be stored at room temperature, will help us distribute and scale access across more LMICs."

How will Lilly close the gap?

Barriers in resource-limited settings extend beyond the availability of treatment and include fragmented health systems, limited healthcare infrastructure and persistent access gaps. To address them, the Lilly Change the Course Commitment is organized around three focus areas:

- Developing medicines for people who need them: Lilly is working to ensure its diabetes and obesity medicines are suitable for people living in resource-limited settings from the earliest stages of clinical development, focusing on clinical trials, medical presentations and cold chain storage.

- Registering and expanding access to medicines to reach people sooner: Lilly intends to register its innovative diabetes and obesity medicines, including GLP-1s, in more low- and middle- income countries, working with regulatory agencies and local health systems to expand access sooner, with a focus on Africa, Latin America and Asia.

- Helping strengthen health systems: Lilly aims to collaborate with global health organizations to help strengthen primary health systems by training community health workers, leveraging technology and digital tools, and improving disease awareness, prevention, diagnosis, and care in resource-limited settings.

Together, these efforts aim to help more people extend their lifespan and enhance their quality of life by managing their diabetes and obesity earlier, reducing long-term complications, and, over time, preventing new cases of diabetes and obesity.

How will Lilly measure and report progress?

Lilly will report progress in treatment reach against the Lilly Change the Course Commitment through its annual Sustainability Report and at key global health forums.

– Series A financing upsized from $60 million to $90 million to advance a second solid tumor program in colorectal cancer and expand the pipeline –

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. and AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Link Cell Therapies ("Link"), an oncology cell therapy company utilizing its proprietary logic-gating technology to develop next-generation CAR-T therapeutics for solid tumors and hematologic malignancies, today announced that it has initiated clinical dosing for its lead program, LNK001. The company also announced three additions to its executive leadership team and a $30 million expansion of its Series A financing.

Initiated clinical dosing of LNK001

LNK001 is being evaluated in a Phase 1 study in patients with advanced or metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma ("RCC"). Clinical dosing has begun at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

LNK001 requires the co-expression of two antigens, CAIX and ENPP3, which are both highly expressed in most RCC tumors. CAIX has long been among the most attractive targets in RCC, but conventional CAR-T cells directed against it have been limited by on-target, off-tumor toxicity in the biliary epithelium, where CAIX is also expressed. By gating CAR-T activity on both antigens, LNK001 is designed to preserve the antitumor potential of CAIX targeting while sparing the healthy tissue that has constrained single-antigen approaches.

LNK001 is manufactured at CTMC, a joint venture between Resilience and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Additional clinical trial details are available at https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT07564232.

Leadership additions

Jie D'Elia, Ph.D., joins as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. Dr. D'Elia was previously the CEO of SystImmune, Inc., a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing novel multi-specific antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates ("ADCs"). Before SystImmune, she spent eleven years at Bristol Myers Squibb ("BMS"), most recently as Senior Vice President of Business Development, Oncology, Hematology, and Cell Therapy. During her tenure at BMS, she made a significant impact to BMS's pipeline evolution through multiple strategic partnerships and acquisitions in therapeutic areas ranging from oncology, hematology, cardiovascular, virology, and cell therapy. Prior to BMS, Dr. D'Elia served as the Vice President and Global Head of Business Development at Simcere Pharmaceutical, and held roles at AstraZeneca, Boston Consulting Group and Baxter Healthcare. Over the course of her career, she has led more than $40 billion in strategic partnerships and acquisitions. Dr. D'Elia holds a Ph.D. from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Brian Slingerland becomes Executive Chair. Brian co-founded Link in 2022 with Robbie Majzner, M.D., and Crystal Mackall, M.D., and has served on the Board of Directors. He previously co-founded and was the CEO of Stemcentrx, a next-generation ADC company that pursued novel targets with limited or no normal tissue expression, including DLL3 and SEZ6, and built the industry's first end-to-end ADC GMP manufacturing facility. Abbvie acquired Stemcentrx in 2016 for $6.2 billion, which at the time was the largest private acquisition of all time in biotechnology. Prior to founding Stemcentrx, Brian was a Founding Partner at Qatalyst Partners and Vice President at Goldman Sachs where he helped companies raise private venture capital, execute IPOs and other financings, advised on mergers and acquisitions, and gained valuable experience working with CEOs at various stages of development. Brian has held other biotechnology CEO roles, including of recently acquired Convergent Genomics, and Everest Detection, and served on the Boards of Directors and provided initial capital to multiple biotech companies including Enliven Therapeutics. Brian is a graduate of Virginia Tech.

Friedrich Graf Finckenstein, M.D., joins as Chief Medical Officer. Dr Graf Finckenstein is a physician-scientist with decades of experience in clinical medicine, cancer research and drug development. Most recently, as Chief Medical Officer of Iovance Biotherapeutics he progressed the clinical portfolio of Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocyte (TIL) therapies across indications and next generation products and contributed to the approval of AMTAGVI® (lifileucel) in the US, Canada and Australia as the first approved cell therapy for a solid tumor. Before Iovance, he was Global Head of Oncology Translational Medicine at Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED) in Basel, Switzerland. Earlier, he held clinical leadership roles at BMS, spanning early through late-stage development, including contributions to the approval of Opdivo® (nivolumab) in lung cancer. He holds a medical degree from the University of Hamburg, is a board-certified pediatrician and has conducted laboratory cancer research at the Ludwig Institute, San Diego Branch, the Children's Hospital Los Angeles and the University of Hamburg.

"From the beginning, our vision has been to translate this breakthrough science into therapies that can make a profound difference for people impacted by cancer," said co-founder Robbie Majzner, M.D., of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. "Bringing in leaders with the experience, commitment and passion to advance our technology and execute at scale gives me tremendous confidence that we can realize that vision."

Abraham Bassan, Member of the Link Board of Directors and Partner at Samsara BioCapital, says "We are excited about the strength and depth of the leadership team at Link. Their broad experience and commitment to advancing our science puts the company in an excellent position to develop a new generation of impactful medicines for patients."

Series A expansion to fund pipeline programs

Link's previously announced $60 million Series A financing led by Johnson & Johnson, through its corporate venture capital organization, Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JJDC, Inc., with participation from founding investors Samsara BioCapital and Sheatree Capital, as well as Wing Venture Capital and new investors including BMS, Kyowa Kirin, Sherpa Healthcare Partners, Western Technology Investment and the MD Anderson Cancer Focus Fund, was upsized to $90 million.

The additional capital will support clinical and preclinical development of additional logic gated CAR-T programs. Link's second solid tumor indication is colorectal cancer, where the company intends to begin a first-in-human trial in 2027 using a novel target pair co-expressed in the majority of colorectal tumors but absent from normal healthy tissues. Additional CAR-T programs in solid and hematologic cancers are in earlier development and will be advanced internally or through partnerships.

"Link's logic-gate platform can make CAR-T broadly viable in solid tumors," said Dr. D'Elia. "A targeting approach that reliably distinguishes tumor from healthy tissue is what allows CAR-T to pursue in solid tumors the kind of deep and durable responses it has achieved in hematologic cancers. This financing lets us advance a pipeline built on that approach across additional tumor types."

About Link Cell Therapies

Link Cell Therapies ("Link") is a biotechnology company based in South San Francisco, California, founded in 2022 by Robbie Majzner, M.D., and Crystal Mackall, M.D. at Stanford University, biotech entrepreneur Brian Slingerland, and Samsara BioCapital. Link's proprietary logic-gating technology allows for safe targeting of multiple antigens that are co-expressed selectively on cancer cells, thereby reducing the risk of on-target, off-tumor toxicity. This enables discovery of an entirely new landscape of "clean" target pairs, and supports the development of next-generation CAR-T therapeutics for solid and hematologic cancers. Link's team features industry-leading scientists collaborating with top-tier advisors and life science financial and strategic investors committed to improving outcomes for cancer patients. 15 Million Americans Live in a County With No General Surgeon

A new study in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons compares, for the first time, the surgeon supply across 12 surgical specialties, county by county, with an interactive data visualization available to the public

Key Takeaways

- A new study from the American College of Surgeons and the UNC Cecil G. Sheps Center maps surgeon supply across 12 surgical specialties and every US county, and a companion interactive tool visualizes the findings.

- Of 3,144 US counties, 951 had no identified surgeon in any of the 12 surgical specialties, and 1,180 counties had no general surgeon, representing 15.1 million people lacking access to surgical care.

- 434 critical access hospitals, the small rural facilities many communities rely on for emergency and inpatient care, are in counties with no identified full-time surgeon.

- Every US hospital referral region had at least one general surgeon, yet 1,180 counties had none, illustrating that the potential designation of federal shortage areas will be critically dependent on the choice of geographic scale.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 15 million Americans live in one of the 1,180 US counties with no general surgeon, and 951 counties have no surgeon in any of 12 surgical specialties, according to a new national analysis announced today at the ACS Clinical Congress 2026 in Washington, D.C., and simultaneously published today in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons (JACS).

The study and a companion interactive tool built on the same data, developed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, map surgeons across 12 specialties and all 3,144 US counties from a single data source, allowing direct comparison for the first time. Previous studies examined one specialty at a time, used different data sources, or reported only national and state totals.

The ACS Surgical Workforce Mapping Tool visualizes the study's findings and gives patients, clinicians, and policymakers direct access to county-level data, allowing hospital boards, residency program directors, state legislators, congressional staffers, and patients to look up, compare, and download surgical workforce data for any county, referral region, or metropolitan/micropolitan area in the country.

"For a patient, the question is not how many surgeons the country has; it is whether there is one available where they live," said Thomas C. Tsai, MD, MPH, FACS, Medical Director for Health Policy Research in the ACS Division of Advocacy and Health Policy and a co-author of the study. "National averages can obscure substantial differences from one community to another. This study highlights a need to assess whether our national health workforce and reimbursement policies are supporting the ability of patients to access the right care at the right time and the right place."

The analysis identified 201,394 surgeons practicing in the U.S. as of April 2025, or 59.2 surgeons per 100,000 people, and mapped each of them to the county, hospital referral region, and metropolitan/micropolitan area where they practice.

Study Results

The 951 counties (30%) with no identified surgeon in any of the 12 specialties are home to 9.6 million people. The 1,180 counties (38%) with no general surgeon are home to 15.1 million.

Every one of the country's 306 hospital referral regions had at least one general surgeon, but these regions are large, multi-county areas defined by where patients travel for major surgical care, so the presence of a surgeon somewhere within one does not mean surgical care is close at hand for patients in its rural counties. Overall, surgeon supply across all 12 specialties was 12 times higher in some regions than others, from 20.8 surgeons per 100,000 people in Harlingen, Texas, to 250.4 in Rochester, Minnesota.

Access varied sharply by specialty. Transplant surgery, at 0.3 surgeons per 100,000 people, was absent from 179 of the country's 306 hospital referral regions, and the most specialized fields were consistently the smallest and the most geographically concentrated. Because the study classified all 12 specialties from a single data source using definitions the ACS developed with input from more than a dozen surgical societies, a community can see which specific specialties it lacks rather than a single aggregate surgeon count.

The findings also highlight potential challenges for rural communities. Researchers overlaid surgeon locations with federal facility files and found 475 hospitals and surgical facilities in counties with no identified full-time surgeon. Of those, 434 were critical access hospitals, the small rural facilities many communities depend on for emergency and inpatient care.

"The Surgical Workforce Mapping Tool gives policymakers, health systems, and communities a practical tool to understand their local surgical workforce and identify gaps in access to care," said Erin P. Fraher, PhD, MPP, Director of the Carolina Health Workforce Research Center at the UNC Sheps Center and the study's lead author.

Users can filter by specialty, switch between counties, hospital referral regions, and metropolitan/micropolitan areas, overlay hospitals and ambulatory surgical centers, and download maps for use in reports and presentations.

"Mapping the surgical workforce is the first step to crafting a thoughtful growth strategy," said Patricia L. Turner, MD, MBA, FACS, Executive Director and CEO of the American College of Surgeons. "These data will help guide investments in surgical training and support for surgeons in underserved communities, with the goal of improving patients' access to care."

The authors caution that uneven distribution is not automatically a problem to be corrected. Transplant surgery is concentrated in part because complex procedures are deliberately regionalized to preserve quality, and the most appropriate distribution is unlikely to be the same for every specialty.

Policy Applications

The findings come as federal policymakers consider how to better identify communities with limited access to surgical care. The Ensuring Access to General Surgery Act of 2026 (H.R. 7198) would direct the Health Resources and Services Administration to develop a methodology for identifying general surgery shortage areas that considers surgeon supply and geographic service areas.

The mapping tool could help policymakers and health care leaders identify where workforce interventions may have the greatest impact, including investments in graduate medical education, rural surgical training, and programs designed to attract and retain surgeons in underserved communities.

About the Data

The study and interactive tool use surgeon location data from the April 2025 National Plan and Provider Enumeration System, a federal registry of clinicians with National Provider Identifiers. Facility locations were drawn from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Provider of Services files.

The analysis identifies where surgeons are located but does not measure patient travel time, surgical volume or capacity, or whether individual surgeons practice at specific hospitals. Full methodology, data sources, and study limitations are available in the JACS study.

The hydrogen bus & truck market is driven primarily by the need to decarbonize commercial vehicles where operational requirements can make battery electric solutions difficult to deploy at scale. Long-haul trucks, high-utilization logistics fleets, mining vehicles, ports, and certain transit operations require high daily mileage, high payload capacity, and limited downtime, creating demand for powertrains that can combine long range with faster refueling. The IEA identifies heavy trucks as the only fast-growing fuel cell vehicle segment in road transport, even though hydrogen vehicles currently have higher total costs than battery electric and diesel alternatives.

India Targets More Than 1,000 Hydrogen Trucks and Buses in Commercial Use by 2030

- India is moving hydrogen mobility from pilot projects toward commercial fleet deployment, with the National Green Hydrogen Mission targeting more than 1,000 hydrogen-powered trucks and buses by 2030. The strategy prioritizes medium and heavy commercial vehicles, where long-distance operation, payload requirements, and refueling time create specific use cases for hydrogen alongside battery electric vehicles. The government also plans hydrogen refueling stations at roughly 200 km intervals and is evaluating decentralized hydrogen production to improve fuel economics, indicating that vehicle deployment, hydrogen production, and corridor-based refueling infrastructure are being developed together.

- Toyota and Scania announced in September 2026 that Toyota will supply its third-generation fuel cell systems for 40 Scania heavy-duty vehicles, while Toyota and IVECO are developing next-generation fuel cell trucks under the EU-funded EMPOWER project, targeting improved range, durability, and energy efficiency.

- Volvo is also testing hydrogen combustion trucks on the road in 2026, with commercial availability planned before 2030, specifically targeting applications where long-distance operation and limited charging availability make hydrogen relevant.

OEMs are developing hydrogen as a complementary solution for specific commercial vehicle duty cycles. Battery electric trucks continue to improve, but charging requirements, charging infrastructure availability, grid capacity, and vehicle downtime remain important considerations for high utilization operations. Hydrogen refueling stations can serve many trucks without the same local grid impact associated with very high power charging, although station economics depend heavily on utilization. At the same time, hydrogen supply remains a major constraint. The near-term market is being shaped by commercial vehicle requirements first, OEM technology development second, and hydrogen infrastructure development around selected fleet applications, rather than by broad ecosystem convergence. Commercial vehicles are becoming the gateway to hydrogen mobility because they present the strongest use cases for hydrogen, particularly where long range, high utilization, payload retention, and rapid refueling are difficult to reconcile with battery electric operation.

Longer operating range requirements accelerate demand for above 500-mile hydrogen vehicles.

By range, the above 500-mile segment is the fastest growing, driven by the increasing need for long-haul hydrogen trucks and high-utilization hydrogen buses to operate longer routes with fewer refueling interruptions. For hydrogen trucks, ranges above 500 miles are increasingly important for long-distance freight, where additional refueling stops can reduce vehicle utilization, increase route planning complexity, and affect payload economics. Higher range also allows hydrogen heavy-duty trucks, hydrogen freight vehicles, and hydrogen tractor trucks to cover longer highway corridors while maintaining operating schedules comparable with conventional diesel fleets.

For hydrogen buses, the demand is supported by expansion from urban routes into hydrogen intercity buses, hydrogen coaches, and regional transit services, where vehicles operate longer daily distances and have fewer opportunities for depot refueling. Higher range allows fuel cell electric buses to complete extended duty cycles without mid-day refueling, while supporting zero-emission public transport across regional and intercity routes. This is particularly relevant as hydrogen fleet deployment expands beyond demonstration projects toward higher utilization commercial operations. For instance, Daimler Truck is addressing this requirement through its Mercedes-Benz NextGenH2 Truck, which uses liquid hydrogen to deliver more than 1,000 km of range, stores up to 85 kg of hydrogen, and can be refueled in 10 to 15 minutes. The company plans to place 100 trucks into customer operations from the end of 2026.

Rising payload and route demands drive adoption of 200 to 400 kW hydrogen powertrains.

By motor power, the 200 to 400 kW segment is the largest, driven by increasing deployment of hydrogen heavy-duty vehicles that require high continuous power for high payload and long-haul operations, and OEM efforts to achieve higher fuel cell electric vehicle performance without adding excessive battery weight. The Clean Hydrogen Partnership's JIVE program deployed 142 fuel cell buses across nine locations and targeted fleets of 10 to 30 buses, while JIVE and JIVE 2 subsequently expanded demonstrations to around 50 cities across 15 European countries. Larger fleets increase the need for standardized, reliable and higher output fuel cell electric bus powertrains. Toyota, for instance, is targeting this range with its third-generation 300 kW fuel cell system, which will power 40 Scania heavy-duty vehicles from 2027, and the new IVECO S eWay Fuel Cell, which targets more than 900 km range and over 25,000 operating hours. This trend is also visible in Daimler Buses, whose H2 Coach demonstrator combines a 300 kW fuel cell system with a 320 kW continuous and 400 kW peak electric motor, showing how higher power output matches demanding bus duty cycles.

Stringent fleet regulations and long-range requirements accelerate hydrogen bus and truck deployment in North America.

The North American hydrogen bus & truck market is driven by state-level zero-emission vehicle regulations, particularly in California, and the growing requirement for long-range hydrogen heavy-duty vehicles that can maintain high utilization without extended charging downtime. California and other states adopting the Advanced Clean Trucks regulation recorded a higher zero-emission MHDV penetration than non-ACT states in Q1 2026, creating a stronger regulatory pull for fuel cell electric vehicles. Similarly, Toyota is also converting this regulatory and fleet demand into commercial deployment through its agreement with Hyroad to deploy 40 Class 8 hydrogen fuel cell trucks in Southern California, supported by Toyota-supplied hydrogen and dedicated hydrogen refueling infrastructure. In buses, New Flyer is scaling its Xcelsior CHARGE FC platform across North America, supported by a 500-engine, 50 MW supply agreement with Ballard, while its hydrogen bus offers up to 370 miles of range and 10- to 18-minute refueling. North America is moving toward larger hydrogen fleet deployment, creating opportunities across hydrogen vehicle commercialization, fuel cell technology, hydrogen mobility ecosystems, and zero-emission commercial vehicles.

Advancements Series to Explore the Future of Sustainable Battery Recycling

JUPITER, Fla., Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Advancements with Ted Danson will explore the growing importance of battery recycling and its role in supporting a more sustainable energy future in an upcoming episode, featuring Ace Green Recycling.

As demand for energy storage and electrification continues to grow, the batteries powering vehicles, energy-storage systems, and backup power supplies are creating both opportunities and environmental challenges. The segment examines the evolving battery landscape, from the widespread use of lead-acid batteries to the growing importance of lithium-ion technology in the global transition toward cleaner energy.

The program will explore the environmental and resource challenges associated with battery production, including the need to responsibly manage materials at the end of a battery's useful life. The segment highlights how recovering valuable materials from used batteries can help reduce waste, support resource availability, and contribute to a more circular approach to battery manufacturing.

Viewers will also learn about advances in battery-recycling technologies and how these developments could help make global electrification more sustainable. Ace Green Recycling CEO, Nishchay Chadha joins industry experts Paul Owens and Linus P. Lu, Managing Director of ACME, to discuss the challenges facing the battery industry, the benefits and environmental considerations of lithium batteries, and the importance of reclaiming materials from existing batteries for future use.

"Battery technology is becoming increasingly important to the future of transportation and energy, but the transition also requires new approaches to how battery materials are sourced, used, recovered, and reused," said Chad Densen, production manager of Advancements. "This segment examines why recycling will be an important part of building a more sustainable and resource-efficient energy ecosystem."

Details: Deloitte's latest CFO Signals™ report, a quarterly survey of North America's leading chief financial officers, finds that CFO confidence rebounded this quarter even as executives remain measured in their assessment of the broader economy. - Company optimism remains resilient: 90% of surveyed CFOs say they are optimistic about their companies' financial prospects; 37.5% rate the current North American economy favorably.

- Technology risks stand out among business challenges: Technology deployment, including GenAI, was CFOs' most-cited internal concern (50%), while cybersecurity topped the list of external concerns (50%).

- Slight cooling on CFOs' appetite for risk: 53% of CFOs say now is a good time to take greater risks, compared to 59% last quarter.

- Financing remains relatively attractive: 55% of CFOs say equity financing is attractive, while 50% say the same about debt financing, suggesting CFOs continue to see multiple paths to capital amid a shifting risk appetite.

- Growth expectations are mixed: CFOs expect revenue to grow 4.6% and capital expenditures to increase 4.3% over the next year, both modestly higher than last quarter, while expectations for earnings, dividends, domestic wages and salaries, and domestic hiring declined.

Scale: Introduced in Q2 2025, the CFO Confidence Score measures CFO confidence in economic conditions and capital markets. The range of the score is 1 to10, with 8 to 10 indicating very high confidence.

Why it matters: The quarterly report measures CFO sentiment and forward-looking strategies. Deloitte's CFO Signals reports offer insight into how the stewards of corporate strategy are thinking, investing and planning for what's next.
