DONOSTIA / SAN SEBASTIÁN, Spain, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Viralgen, a leading contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy manufacturing, a subsidiary of AskBio, Inc. within the Bayer Group, today announced that Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jimmy Vanhove will transition to a new role leading the development and expansion of Bayer's U.S. Pharmaceutical Product Supply Network based in New Albany, Ohio. In his new position, Jimmy will join the Pharmaceuticals Division's Product Supply Leadership Team. Angela Ochoa Chico has been appointed as his successor and will join Viralgen as CEO, from her current role at Bayer, effective January 1, 2027. She is an accomplished executive with extensive international leadership experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and operations.

During Jimmy's four years leading the company, Viralgen has evolved from an emerging contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) into a market-leading AAV-specialist CDMO, supporting gene therapy programs from early development through commercial-scale manufacturing. Over this period, the company expanded its facilities, infrastructure, and process development capabilities, becoming a fully integrated, end-to-end CDMO with a strong portfolio of more than 70 customers and partners worldwide.

This progress has been driven by a strong quality mindset, operational reliability, and continuous improvement, with sustainability integrated into Viralgen's growth. Throughout, the company has remained focused on its purpose: bringing life-changing gene therapies closer to patients. From supporting gene therapy manufacturing for market-leading global pharmaceutical companies to more than 15 ultra-rare disease foundations, Viralgen remains committed to people living with rare diseases and the families who support them.

Today, Viralgen employs more than 450 professionals in San Sebastián, Spain, and operates one of the world's largest facilities dedicated to manufacturing AAV-based gene therapies, with integrated capabilities spanning process development, clinical and commercial production, quality control, and fill-finish.

"It has been a privilege to lead Viralgen through this transformative period," said Jimmy Vanhove. "I am especially proud that, as Viralgen has grown, we have remained committed to people living with both common and rare diseases, as well as the patient foundations that represent them. I am confident that Angela will build on this legacy and lead Viralgen into its next exciting chapter."

Angela Ochoa Chico brings nearly twenty years of international experience across pharmaceutical operations, quality, manufacturing, strategy, and organizational transformation. She comes to Viralgen from her role as Product Supply Strategy & Excellence Lead at the Pharmaceuticals Division of Bayer where she has helped shape global manufacturing strategy, strengthen organizational capabilities and drive performance across the Product Supply network. Earlier in her career, she led manufacturing and quality organizations in Mexico and held global roles spanning operations, regulatory affairs, supply chain, and strategic network management.

"I am delighted to join Viralgen at such an important stage in its evolution," said Angela Ochoa Chico. "Viralgen has built an outstanding reputation for scientific excellence, quality, and innovation, supported by an exceptionally talented team. I look forward to building on these strong foundations, advancing our manufacturing capabilities, and further strengthening Viralgen's position as a trusted gene therapy manufacturing partner, guided by a clear purpose to help bring transformative therapies to the patients who need them. Over the coming months, I will work closely with Jimmy and the Viralgen team to ensure a smooth transition into the CEO role."

Jackson to lead organic and inorganic growth initiatives, strategic partnerships and corporate development as the Company advances its life sciences and therapeutics platforms

TORONTO, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Vector Science and Therapeutics Corp. (TSXV: PAIN) ("Vector" or the "Company") today announced the appointment of Angus Jackson as Managing Director of Corporate Development. In this role, Mr. Jackson will assist in the Company's organic and lead the inorganic growth initiatives, with responsibility for advancing strategic partnerships, evaluating acquisition and investment opportunities, and supporting the Company's long-term commercial and corporate development strategy.

Mr. Jackson brings a multidisciplinary background spanning investment banking, corporate law, business strategy and operating experience in the life sciences sector. Most recently, he served as an investment banker at Outcome Capital, a Boston-based boutique investment bank focused on the healthcare and life sciences industries. At Outcome Capital, he advised companies across pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical services, medical technology and healthcare services on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and strategic transactions.

Prior to his investment banking career, Mr. Jackson held corporate development and operating responsibilities at a family-owned contract manufacturing business serving the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries, where he was involved in strategic initiatives and acquisitions. Vector believes his combination of transaction execution experience and direct operating exposure positions him to help the Company pursue growth opportunities across its business and technology platforms.

Mr. Jackson holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, a Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Duke University School of Law, with a focus on law and entrepreneurship. His academic and professional background combines financial analysis, transaction structuring, corporate strategy, entrepreneurship and legal expertise.

Role and Priorities

In his new role, Mr. Jackson will focus on identifying and executing opportunities to accelerate Vector's growth, including commercial expansion, strategic alliances, business development initiatives and selective mergers and acquisitions. He will also work with Company leadership to evaluate opportunities that complement Vector's existing capabilities and support the development and commercialization of its therapeutic delivery technologies, medical devices and peptide-related offerings.

"Disciplined corporate development is essential to turning Vector's technology platforms into lasting commercial value," said Tommy Thompson, Chairman of Vector Science and Therapeutics and former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. "Angus's background in healthcare investment banking, law and pharmaceutical manufacturing gives the Company the expertise to evaluate and execute strategic opportunities with rigor, and we are pleased to welcome him to the team."

"Angus brings a rare combination of transaction experience and hands-on operating knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, which is exactly what Vector needs as we scale," said Russell Starr, President of Vector Science and Therapeutics. "As we evaluate partnerships and acquisitions that complement our delivery technologies and peptide platform, his ability to identify, structure and execute the right opportunities will be an important asset to the Company and our shareholders."

"I am excited to join Vector at an important stage in the Company's development," said Angus Jackson, Managing Director of Corporate Development. "Vector has an opportunity to build on its existing technology platforms, deepen strategic partnerships, and pursue new avenues for commercial growth. I look forward to working with the team to execute a disciplined growth strategy that combines organic expansion with targeted strategic transactions and partnerships."

Servier Announces First Patients Dosed in Pivotal Phase 2 EMBLEM-1 Cohort Evaluating Emiltatug Ledadotin (Emi-Le) in Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma
Image File
Original HTML

- Positive Phase 1 data were previously presented in an oral session at ASCO 2026

- Emi-Le received Breakthrough Therapy Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the proposed treatment of patients with locally advanced, recurrent or metastatic ACC with solid histology or high-grade transformation

BOSTON, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Servier today announced the first patients have been dosed in the pivotal Phase 2 cohort (EMBLEM-1) of a Phase 1/2 study of Emiltatug Ledadotin (Emi-Le) in solid tumors. EMBLEM-1 is evaluating the antitumor activity and safety of Emi-Le, an investigational antibody drug conjugate (ADC) directed against B7-H4, in aggressive adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC).

"Dosing these first patients marks an important step in advancing Emi-Le as a potential targeted treatment for ACC, a difficult-to-treat cancer with no FDA-approved systemic treatment options," said Becky Martin, PhD, Chief of Medical, Servier Pharmaceuticals. "This milestone also underscores the momentum of Servier's growing oncology portfolio and our commitment to bringing scientific rigor and meaningful innovation to rare cancers where patients face significant unmet need. We look forward to sharing these data with the scientific community."

The primary endpoint is objective response rate (ORR)—defined as the percentage of patients who achieve a best overall response of confirmed complete response (CR) or partial response (PR)— per RECIST 1.1.

The initiation of EMBLEM-1 is supported by clinical data from a Phase 1 analysis of Emi-Le, which demonstrated a differentiated safety profile and were presented in an oral session at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2026 Annual Meeting.

Earlier this year, Emi-Le received Breakthrough Therapy Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the proposed treatment of patients with locally advanced, recurrent or metastatic ACC with solid histology or high-grade transformation.

The EMBLEM-1 cohort is currently enrolling (NCT05377996). Additional details regarding the clinical trial can be found here.

About Emi-Le

Emi-Le is an investigational B7-H4-directed Dolasynthen antibody drug conjugate (ADC) with a drug-to-antibody ratio (DAR) of 6 and a proprietary auristatin-F HPA payload designed to provide a controlled bystander effect as demonstrated in preclinical models. Emi-Le is under evaluation in an ongoing Phase 1/2 clinical trial and has not been approved by the FDA, and its safety and effectiveness have not been established. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has granted Fast Track designations to Emi-Le for the treatment of 1) adult patients with advanced or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer, and 2) advanced or metastatic HER2 low / HER2 negative breast cancer post-topo-1 ADC (including TNBC and certain HR+ breast cancers). It has also received Breakthrough Designation from the FDA for the treatment of patients with locally advanced, recurrent or metastatic adenoid cystic carcinoma with solid histology or high-grade transformation. For more information about the trial, visit clinicaltrials.gov (NCT05377996).

About Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma

Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) occurs in the secretory glands, typically in the head and neck, but also in other areas of the body. Globally, more than 200,000 people have ACC. It is diagnosed in roughly four per one million people annually and does not discriminate by ethnicity or lifestyle factors. Today there are no approved or preferred systemic therapies to treat advanced or metastatic ACC; most people are treated with surgery or radiation, but the disease recurs in 50 percent of cases, often becoming more aggressive with metastases in distant areas of the body.1

As investment in electrification, building modernization and critical infrastructure accelerates across the U.S., developing the skilled workforce needed to support these industries has become an increasingly important priority for America's energy future. To help address this challenge, Schneider Electric and SKILLED Nation are announcing an additional $100,000 in scholarships for technical education and training nationwide.

Now in its fourth year, the Schneider Electric SKILLED Scholarship Program has received more than $300,000 in funding from Schneider Electric to help students pursue technical careers across America's buildings, energy systems and critical infrastructure. "These scholarships help students pay for the training to gain practical skills for careers installing, operating and maintaining the systems that power our buildings, energy infrastructure and communities."

Developing Technical Talent for Energy and Infrastructure

As buildings and energy infrastructure become more electrified, connected and intelligent, developing specialized technical skills is essential to helping customers realize the full value of modernization.

"The future of American energy infrastructure will be defined as much by the talent behind it as the technology powering it," said Chris Collins, Senior Vice President, Secure Power, North America, Schneider Electric. "At Schneider Electric, we see workforce development as a strategic investment in our customers' competitiveness, our nation's energy resilience and the next generation of American industry. Our partnership with SKILLED Nation helps students access the technical education and training to build that future."

Building on 190 years of innovation globally and more than 135 years of operations in the U.S., Schneider Electric is investing in the technology and talent essential to modernizing energy infrastructure. Since 2009, Schneider Electric has trained more than 1 million young people across more than 60 countries, helping them build practical skills in energy management. Through its Impact 2030 sustainability ambition, the company aims to equip more than 3 million young people with skills in electrification and sustainability. The SKILLED Nation partnership extends that global commitment in the U.S., creating pathways to technical careers that will help shape the future of American industry.

Launched in 2022 with scholarships in New York and New Jersey, Schneider Electric's partnership with SKILLED Nation later expanded to Boston, Dallas and other communities. The scholarships are open to qualifying students nationwide.

Redefining the boundaries of human performance, the Hypershell X Ultra S earns top recognition from TIME

- TIME Best Inventions 2026: Hypershell X Ultra S has been named to TIME's Best Inventions of 2026 in the Sports & Fitness category, recognizing its groundbreaking innovation and contribution to advancing the future of human mobility.

- A Year of Industry Recognition: The TIME recognition builds on a standout year for Hypershell, with its AI-powered consumer exoskeletons earning accolades from leading publications including Fast Company and Tom's Guide, among others.

- Redefining Human Performance: At the forefront of wearable mobility innovation, Hypershell's award-winning X Series combines a lightweight, foldable 1.7 kg design with technologies engineered to reduce physical exertion. The series is the world's first consumer exoskeleton lineup to have its performance verified by both TÜV Rheinland and SGS.

HONG KONG, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Hypershell, the world's leading consumer exoskeleton brand, is excited to announce that X Ultra S has been selected for TIME's 2026 Best Inventions list in the Sports & Fitness category. The recognition underscores Hypershell's continued innovation in AI-powered wearable robotics and its mission to expand human mobility through technology.

For 26 years, TIME has highlighted the world's most impactful new products and ideas through its annual Best Inventions issue. Each year, innovations across rapidly evolving fields are evaluated against key criteria such as originality, efficacy, ambition, and real-world impact.

"It's an incredible honor to have Hypershell X Ultra S recognized among TIME's Best Inventions of 2026. Exoskeletons are no longer science fiction. They're helping everyday people go farther than they thought possible," said Kelvin Sun, founder and CEO of Hypershell.

Highlighting the growing demand in a global exoskeleton market projected to reach $1.79 billion by 2033, TIME commended Hypershell X Ultra S for overcoming a common industry hurdle: the rigid feel of traditional robotic wearables. X Ultra S addresses this with its groundbreaking HyperIntuition™ motion control algorithm, which analyzes and anticipates a user's movements in real time to allow for remarkably fluid motion.

"X Ultra S brings AI and precision robotics together with advanced wearable technology to take the strain off your legs and knees, lighten every climb, and help you go farther with less fatigue," Kelvin added. "Powered by HyperIntuition™, X Ultra S delivers intuitive, seamless assistance that moves naturally with the wearer, making it feel more like an extension of the body than a rigid external device."

Key features of the Hypershell X Ultra S include:

- The flagship model X Ultra S is built for mixed terrain and demanding outdoor conditions. The revolutionary HyperIntuition™ motion control algorithm analyzes user movements in real-time for seamless, natural assistance without the rigidity of traditional exoskeletons.

- The ultra-lightweight, 1.7 kg foldable device is verified by Germany's TÜV Rheinland to achieve 97.5% gait synchronization.

- Powered by a 1000W motor system that responds to the user's stride in just 0.31 seconds, SGS certification proves the exoskeleton decreases average oxygen consumption by up to 39.2% and lowers average heart rate by up to 42.7%.

- Built with an aerospace-grade titanium alloy chassis to withstand the elements from -20°C to 60°C, the exoskeleton offers adventurers hands-free control via the Hypershell+ app and Apple Watch to effortlessly amplify their natural exploration.

The TIME recognition further adds to a remarkable year for Hypershell, following honors from Fast Company's 2026 Next Big Things in Tech, Fast Company's World Changing Ideas Awards and the Tom's Guide Fitness Awards 2026. Together, these recognitions reflect growing industry acknowledgment of Hypershell's role in bringing consumer exoskeleton technology closer to mainstream adoption.

The full Hypershell X Series lineup is available now at Hypershell.com and on Amazon.

All product specifications are subject to the information published on the official Hypershell website.

Calamos Extends Autocallable Leadership through CAYN--World's First Indexed Least-Of Autocallable Income ETF

Calamos Extends Autocallable Leadership through CAYN--World's First Indexed Least-Of Autocallable Income ETF

- Calamos continues to innovate in autocallable ETFs with an indexed approach to the popular "least-of" (also known as "worst-of") autocallable income structure—expanding upon the broadest line of autocallable ETFs in the world.

- CAYN links income payments and principal repayment to the weakest performer among SPY, QQQ and IWM, via a weekly ladder of synthetic notes, each with a three-year maturity, 30% downside coupon and principal barriers, and a coupon-memory feature.

- CAYN seeks enhanced tax efficiency, improved coupon reliability and greater principal preservation relative to single notes and non-indexed worst-of ETFs.

METRO CHICAGO, Ill., Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- John Koudounis, President and CEO of Calamos, a leading alternatives manager, today announced the planned launch of the Calamos Least-Of Autocallable Income ETF (CAYN) on October 26, 2026. Calamos developed CAYN with MerQube and Citibank as the world's first indexed approach to autocallable income tied to the popular "worst-of" structured note strategy.

"The autocallable ETF category is taking off, with growing investor demand for multiple strategies. Our planned launch of CAYN further demonstrates Calamos' leadership in the autocallable ETF space that we created with CAIE in 2025," said John Koudounis, President and CEO of Calamos. "We're excited to improve the least-of strategy and to soon offer another powerful product for income-oriented investors seeking higher coupons from equities."

Calamos was named Asset Manager of the Year (AUM between $25 billion and $500 billion) at the 2026 MMI/Barron's Industry Awards. Its Autocallable ETF lineup has also received multiple awards alone in 2026, including Investment Product Innovation (MMI/Barron's) and, from SRP Americas, Best Structured ETF Solution and ETF Innovation of the Year.1

"For investors looking for a worst-of autocallable solution, we've built the first indexed least-of autocallable strategy, designed to bring tax-efficiency, liquidity, and a degree of principal preservation and coupon reliability to the most popular product type in the legacy autocallable yield note market," said Matt Kaufman, Global Head of ETFs at Calamos. "CAYN will use the same 'Structured ETF' framework that has powered the success of CAIE, CAIQ and CAGE—trading an index on swap, an innovation that the worst-of autocallable strategy has never seen before in the ETF space. We look forward to expanding the Calamos Autocallable ETF family for investors seeking one of the most popular forms of autocallable income via the ETF wrapper."

About the ETF

CAYN is designed to seek high, tax-efficient income by tying income and principal repayment to the weakest performer among three ETFs representing large-cap stocks (SPY), growth stocks (QQQ) and small-cap stocks (IWM). Rather than investing in a single worst-of autocallable note ("note") or a non-indexed worst-of autocallable ETF, CAYN provides exposure to a weekly laddered index of at least 52 synthetic worst-of autocallable notes, each with a three-year maturity and 30% downside coupon and principal barriers. When a note in the portfolio is called away, the principal is returned to the fund and reinvested in a new note with the same terms. Each note's three-year term is designed to allow more time to recover from market declines, seeking to reduce the risk of principal impairment.

CAYN's index also features a "memory" mechanism that stores missed coupons and pays them once the worst-performing constituent is back above the coupon barrier. Calamos will trade the MerQube US Equity Least-Of Autocallable Index (MQAUTOWL) on swap. CAYN intends to take a multi-counterparty approach, with Citibank as the primary counterparty.

Before investing, carefully consider the Fund's investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses. Please see the prospectus and summary prospectus containing this and other information which can be obtained by calling 1-866-363-9219. Read it carefully before investing.

An investment in the Fund is subject to risks, and you could lose money on your investment in the Fund. There can be no assurance that the Fund will achieve its investment objective. Your investment in the Fund is not a deposit in a bank and is not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or any other government agency. The risks associated with an investment in the Fund can increase during times of significant market volatility. The Fund also has specific principal risks, which are described below. More detailed information regarding these risks can be found in the Fund's prospectus. The principal risks of investing in the Calamos Least-of Autocallable Income Fund include: authorized participant concentration risk, autocallable structure risk, contingent income risk, early redemption risk, barrier risk, box spread risk, calculation methodology risk, cash holdings risk, correlation risk, costs of buying and selling fund shares, counterparty risk, credit risk, derivatives risk, equity securities risk, FLEX options risk, index risk, interest rate risk, investment in a subsidiary, laddered portfolio risk, liquidity risk, market maker risk, market risk, new fund risk, non-diversification risk, other investment companies risk, premium-discount risk, secondary market trading risk, swap arrangement risk, swap agreement termination risk, tax risk, trading issues risk, valuation risk.

Autocallable Structure Risk — The Fund's returns are correlated to the performance of a theoretical portfolio of Autocallables reflected by the Autocallable Index. Autocallable notes have specific structural features that may be unfamiliar to many investors.

Contingent Income Risk — Coupon payments from the Autocallables are not guaranteed and will not be made if the least performing Constituent falls below the Coupon Barrier on Observation Dates. This means the Fund may generate significantly less income than anticipated during market downturns.

Barrier Risk — If the least-performing Constituent falls below the Maturity Barrier at the maturity of an Autocallable in the Index Portfolio, that portion of the Index Portfolio will be fully exposed to the negative performance of the least-performing Constituent from its initial level. This conditional protection creates a binary outcome that can result in sudden, significant losses if barriers are breached.

Citibank N.A. acts as the Primary Swap Provider and Citigroup Global Markets Inc. (together, "Citi") acts as the Authorized Participant with respect to CAYN. Citi has not participated in the preparation of this presentation and makes no representation or warranty, express or implied, regarding the accuracy or completeness of any information contained herein.
