U.S.-based 501(c)(3) humanitarian relief organization formalizes partnership with the International Organization for Migration at a high-level meeting at IOM headquarters in Geneva

GENEVA, Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Human Development Fund (HDF), a U.S.-based humanitarian relief organization working in more than 33 countries, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations agency for migration, at IOM headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The agreement formalizes the relationship between the two organizations and sets a framework for closer coordination on humanitarian response, with an initial focus on Sudan and Yemen.

The signing followed a high-level meeting between an HDF delegation led by Chief Executive Officer Abdirahman Kariye and IOM Chief of Staff Mohammed Abdiker and his team. Discussions centered on the humanitarian situation in Sudan and Yemen, where displacement continues to rise, and on opportunities for HDF and IOM to work together to reach the families most affected.

Millions of people remain displaced inside Sudan, and needs in Yemen remain acute. Across both emergencies, needs are growing while resources fall short. HDF delivers food, clean water, medicine, and shelter to displaced families in Sudan, and is mobilizing emergency food, water, shelter, and medical assistance for families displaced in Yemen's Taiz, Lahj, and Al Hodeidah governorates, as well as for those arriving by sea in Djibouti.

"This is an important milestone for HDF," said Abdirahman Kariye, Chief Executive Officer of Human Development Fund. "Signing this Memorandum of Understanding with IOM strengthens our institutional partnerships within the United Nations system and reflects the work our teams are doing every day in the field. HDF is growing from a grassroots humanitarian organization into a globally recognized institution, and partnerships like this one allow us to serve more people in Sudan, Yemen, and beyond."

"We had a productive meeting with the Human Development Fund on the humanitarian response in Sudan and Yemen," said Mohammed Abdiker, Chief of Staff of the International Organization for Migration. "Millions of people remain displaced in Sudan, and needs in Yemen remain acute. Across both crises, needs are growing while resources fall short. Sustained support, including from HDF, is essential to reach those most affected. We look forward to continuing our partnership."

The MOU marks a significant step in HDF's engagement with the United Nations system and adds to the organization's growing network of institutional partners. HDF operates field offices in Somalia, Kenya, Jordan, and Pakistan, and in 2025 reached more than 3.5 million people with emergency relief and long-term development programs. HDF is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 92-2204466), accredited by the BBB Wise Giving Alliance and holder of a Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency.

AMSTERDAM, Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Ferrovial, a leading global infrastructure company, reported strong operating results for the first nine months of 2026, supported by the robust performance of its U.S. Express Lanes and a solid contribution from its Construction division, resulting in double-digit like-for-like1 growth in revenue and adjusted EBITDA1.

FirstEnergy Foundation Strengthens Support for Shelter, Safety and Stability

Expanded initiative provides $125,000 to eight West Virginia and Maryland organizations and $500,000 across five states

FAIRMONT, W.Va., Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The FirstEnergy Foundation is investing $125,000 in seven West Virginia and Maryland organizations that provide emergency shelter, housing assistance and supportive services for individuals and families facing homelessness, domestic violence and other housing-related challenges. The grants are part of the Foundation's expanded Shelter, Safety and Stability initiative, which increased from $100,000 to $500,000 in 2026 and now supports 38 organizations across five states. Grant recipients support communities served by Mon Power in West Virginia and Potomac Edison in Maryland and West Virginia, both FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE:FE) electric companies.

Safe, stable housing is a growing issue for many residents of West Virginia and Maryland. According to West Virginia public statistics, nearly 1,925 people were experiencing homelessness across the state in January 2025, an 8.2% increase from the previous year. The number of families with children experiencing homelessness also rose by 27%.

In Maryland, an estimated 6,069 residents experience homelessness on any given night. Over the course of a year, approximately 11,745 people enter or stay in emergency shelters or transitional housing. An additional 1,036 individuals live in places not intended for human habitation, such as streets, vehicles or encampments. Families with children represent about 1,943 people within the state's homeless population.

These realities highlight the critical role of organizations that provide emergency shelter, housing assistance and supportive services.

Amanda Mertens Campbell, Vice President, External Affairs and Corporate Responsibility, and President, FirstEnergy Foundation: "The organizations receiving these grants provide more than shelter. They offer safety, support and hope during some of life's most challenging moments. This funding will help more individuals and families access not only emergency housing, but also the compassion, counseling and support services that can help prevent future housing instability and create a foundation for long-term success."

Grants That Help Build Safer, More Stable Lives

FirstEnergy Foundation awarded grants to organizations that provide emergency shelter and transitional housing along with critical services to help individuals and families build safer, more stable lives. The following West Virginia and Maryland organizations have been awarded grants this year:

- Eastern Panhandle Empowerment Center works to prevent violence and empower survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking in Berkeley, Morgan and Jefferson counties in WV. They provide victims and survivors with the resources necessary to effectively cope with the personal, social, emotional and legal ramifications of victimization.

- HOPE, Inc. is committed to providing resources and services to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking to ensure safety, encourage self-sufficiency, and promote a life free of violence in Marion, Harrison, Doddridge, Gilmer, and Lewis counties, WV.

- North Star Child Advocacy Center and its partners are the front-line responders in Wood, Wirt, Pleasants, Calhoun, and Ritchie counties, WV to support children who are victims of sexual abuse and children who have experienced violence. Since opening in 2014, they have served more than 3,000 children.

- Beyond Shelter is a Coalition that serves as a safety net for those in Frederick County, MD to address the challenges of homelessness and poverty. The program provides emergency support for people as they move beyond crisis and regain control of their lives, as well as support services such as energy and prescription assistance and financial support with security deposits.

- Casa, Inc. is a lifeline for children, teenagers, and adults in Washington County, MD who have been affected by intimate partner violence, any form of sexual violence, and sex trafficking. Its programs and services provide the professional support and guidance necessary for individuals and their families to survive violence and abuse and establish a new and safe direction.

- Heartly House is the only organization in Frederick County, MD that provides comprehensive services, free of charge, to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, human trafficking, and child abuse. In addition to supportive services, Heartly House develops community awareness programs and prevention education in an effort to end domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse.

- Hope Center has given shelter to the homeless, hope to the addicted, and food to the hungry for people in the Hagerstown, MD area since 1955.

Providing Housing and Hope Year After Year

Since 2020, the FirstEnergy Foundation has donated over $1.6 million to help people in need of shelter or a place to call home. Nearly $700,000 of that was directed specifically to organizations that support domestic violence survivors and their families.

The FirstEnergy Foundation has donated more than $850,000 to housing-related initiatives to date in 2026 â including the $500,000 awarded through the Foundation's Shelter, Safety and Stability initiative. In addition, as part of the Foundation's $5 million Hunger Action Month initiative, $135,000 was awarded to organizations that provide housing and shelter services.

Hands-On Help for Communities in Need

In addition to grant funding, FirstEnergy encourages employees to provide hands-on assistance to local nonprofits. The company empowers employees to give back by providing dedicated volunteer time-off (VTO) hours, which many use to help address housing insecurity. Related efforts include:

- Donation drives and local walks to raise awareness and funding for local shelters and crisis services.

- Helping at Habitat for Humanity construction sites.

- Planting and caring for community and pollinator gardens at rapid re-housing and emergency shelters in conjunction with FirstEnergy employee-volunteer Green Teams.

In 2025, employees contributed approximately 28,500 volunteer hours across FirstEnergy's service territory, including thousands of hours supporting hunger-relief organizations. Based on the 2025 national value of a volunteer hour of $36.14, those efforts represent more than $1 million in additional community support.

About FirstEnergy Foundation

The FirstEnergy Foundation supports 501(c)(3) organizations across FirstEnergy's operational area, helping them build capacity, strengthen outcomes and deliver lasting impact. First NABEP Crude Cargo Under U.S. Agreement Arrives in Texas

Original HTML

Shipment of 1 million barrels arrived as NABEP production passes 223,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas, Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Two tankers carrying 1 million barrels of Venezuelan crude produced by North American Blue Energy Partners (NABEP) have arrived in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The cargo is part of the U.S. government's right to purchase 20% of NABEP's production at cost, with no markup, a provision of the company's August agreement with the U.S. Departments of State and War. The government secured that right, along with a 35% equity stake in NABEP's parent company, at no cost to American taxpayers.

President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited the Port of Corpus Christi to see one of the newly-arrived tankers on Tuesday.

"This cargo reached Texas in just over a week. Crude from the Middle East can take more than a month," said Alejandro Betancourt, CEO of NABEP. "This first shipment since the U.S.-NABEP deal will be followed by thousands of such arrivals, and each one shows the world that Venezuela is back as a dependable energy supplier, with the United States as its anchor buyer. Every tanker that sails north sends jobs and investment back home to Venezuela."

NABEP directly employs more than 5,000 people and supports over 10,000 contractor jobs across Venezuela. It also holds the rights to commercialize more than 65 billion barrels of proven reserves in the country and is targeting production of more than 1 million barrels of oil per day in the near term.

Over the past two years, the company has grown production from about 18,000 barrels per day to more than 200,000, funded by roughly $1 billion of its own investment. The same strategy is being used to fund its ongoing production push, with hundreds of millions of dollars more being reinvested every month. As of Oct. 19, NABEP's total hydrocarbon production across its fields reached 223,509 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Tensor and Münchner Taxi Zentrum Sign LOI to Put Taxi Operators at the Center of Autonomous Mobility in Germany

Tensor brings its Robocar to Germany, with taxi operators in control of their fleets, customers and data; partners plan up to 500 Robocars in German cities as a first step

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Tensor Auto Inc. ("Tensor"), an American Physical AI company and developer of the Tensor Robocar, and Münchner Taxi Zentrum ("MTZ"), Munich's largest taxi operator, today announced a letter of intent (LOI) to deploy Tensor Robocars as autonomous taxis in Germany, operated by MTZ.

Both companies are committed to an operator-led model: the taxi operator runs the service and keeps its customer relationships and brand, while Tensor sells the Robocar and provides autonomous driving as a recurring subscription service, Autonomous Driving as a Service (ADaaS). Because the Robocar is engineered from the ground up to the higher standards required for personal ownership, it is well suited to the demands of taxi fleets, while control of the fleet, the customer and the data stays with the taxi company and therefore in Europe.

The potential market is large: there are currently about 50,000 taxis in Germany and about 500,000 across Europe. That includes operators in Taxis 4 Smart Mobility (T4SM), a coalition of taxi organisations from six European countries chaired by MTZ CEO Gregor Beiner, which could adopt the same operator-led model. The partner structure will start in Germany and expand across Europe as targets are met.

"Autonomous driving will redefine urban mobility. At Tensor, we're building the technology and partner ecosystem to make safe, premium Robocar services a reality at scale. MTZ is an important partner as we bring this vision to Germany and expand across Europe," said Jay Xiao, Founder and CEO of Tensor.

"The taxi industry has a leading role to bring sustainable autonomous driving to Europe. Together with Tensor, MTZ will bring autonomous vehicles to Munich's streets under its own name, with the service quality and data sovereignty our customers trust. At the same time, our professional drivers remain indispensable: wherever personal service, assistance or a human touch is needed, they make the difference," said Gregor Beiner, CEO of Münchner Taxi Zentrum.

Partnership Roles and Business Model

- Operators run the fleet. MTZ is leading the way. Tensor chose MTZ for what it takes to put autonomous taxis on German roads: well-established regulatory relationships, approval for commercial operations and more than 40 years of operating experience in Munich. MTZ will operate Robocars under its own brand as part of its taxi service, and other taxi operators across Europe can adopt the same model.

- Financial institutions finance the fleets. In partnership with mobility operators and taxi companies, financial institutions will finance Robocar fleets, enabling rapid scaling while creating a new asset class in European mobility. Operators such as MTZ manage day-to-day service operations.

- Operators provide the ride-share platform and the service. The Robocar integrates with MTZ's existing dispatch systems, so riders book and ride with MTZ as they do today. In collaboration with the city, MTZ decides where, when and how its autonomous fleet runs, drawing on more than 40 years of serving Munich.

- Tensor powers it in the background. Through its ADaaS subscription, Tensor provides the autonomous driving software, fleet-management tools, ongoing service and training. MTZ, not Tensor, operates the vehicles.

The Plan

- Initial fleet: up to 500 Tensor Robocars in German cities, subject to definitive agreements and Level 4 regulatory approval in Germany.

- Europe: the partners will work together to bring Tensor Robocars to other taxi companies and fleet operators across Europe. They aim to place 10,000 additional Robocars with European operators within 24 months of the Robocar becoming available in Europe. Through MTZ CEO Gregor Beiner's roles in the taxi industry, the partnership has access to a large network.

- Private sales: as part of the LOI, the partners will also explore offering Tensor Robocars to private buyers in Germany.

Why the Robocar

The model is only possible because of the Tensor Robocar itself. Unlike robotaxis converted from existing cars, the Robocar is purpose-built for autonomy and engineered to the higher standards required for personal ownership. That dual-purpose design brings real advantages to operators and riders:

- More time in service. The Robocar is designed to perform automatic maintenance checks, clean its own sensors, and automatically park and shield its sensors, so vehicles spend more time carrying riders and less time in the depot.

- A ride you can talk to. Many riders value being able to talk to their taxi driver. The Robocar is driven by agentic AI: rather than simply following pre-programmed rules, it reasons about the road and the people around it, understands what a rider asks and acts on it. Riders will be able to speak to the Robocar naturally to change the route, add a stop along the way or ask a question, just as they would with a driver.

About Tensor

Tensor Auto Inc. is an American Physical AI company developing agentic AI and full-stack autonomous driving technology. Its flagship product, the Tensor Robocar, is an SAE Level 4 vehicle designed for both personal ownership and robotaxi fleets. Tensor offers its Robocar directly and licenses its autonomous driving technology to fleet operators and automakers through its Autonomous Driving as a Service (ADaaS) model. Founded in Silicon Valley in 2016, Tensor has offices in San Jose, Barcelona, Singapore and Dubai. For more information, visit www.tensor.ai.

About Münchner Taxi Zentrum (MTZ)

Münchner Taxi Zentrum (MTZ) is an owner-managed passenger mobility company that has served Munich for more than 40 years. With more than 150 employees, MTZ is the largest taxi company in the region and works with cities to shape urban mobility. MTZ launched one of Germany's first all-electric premium taxi fleets in 2018, supported by its own fast-charging infrastructure. CEO Gregor Beiner also chairs Taxis 4 Smart Mobility (T4SM), a coalition of taxi organisations from six European countries, and is president of the German Federal Association of Taxi and Private Hire Vehicles.

Tennis Best Bets: Picks and predictions for Wednesday, October 28
Image File
Original HTML

The 2026 tennis season is into its final stretch, and this week brings a pair of ATP 500 events in Vienna and Basel. With the Paris Masters next on the calendar and the ATP Finals approaching, there’s still plenty to play for as players look to finish strong on the indoor hard courts.

Both tournaments should give us plenty to work with from a betting perspective, and I’ll be posting my tennis best bets daily throughout the week. My write-ups will focus exclusively on ATP matches, but I’ll also have women’s picks available on the picks page.

With that in mind, keep reading for my tennis best bets for Wednesday, October 28, at the Erste Bank Open and Swiss Indoors Basel.

RELATED: Check out some of the tennis bets our VSiN experts have for Tuesday!

NOTE: As I often do, I got confused with the schedule, so I wrote up the Musetti and Griekspoor plays a day early. That’s why they’re posted again in this article. However, there is a new pick at the bottom of this story.

Frances Tiafoe vs. Lorenzo Musetti

“Is this live?” If you’re a true tennis fan, you probably know that Musetti’s name has been involved in some rumors recently. However, while things seem a bit chaotic off the court, the Italian is thriving on it. Musetti just won a title in Lyon, beating Matteo Arnaldi, Moise Kouame, Luca Van Assche, Flavio Cobolli, and Taylor Fritz on his way to lifting the trophy. He’s finally starting to recapture his top-10 form, and that’s why I find it hard to believe we’re getting him at even-money odds against Tiafoe.

Tiafoe beat Musetti in a straight-set victory in which they played two tiebreakers in Cincinnati a couple of months ago, and he does have a 5-4 record against the Italian. However, Tiafoe hasn’t put in the hours Musetti has since the North American hard-court swing, so form strongly favors the Italian here. I also like what Musetti brings to the table more.

Over the last 52 weeks, in non-majors, Musetti has a higher Perfromance Rating (8.07 vs. 7.62), Return Quality (7.1 vs. 6.6), Forehand Quality (8.5 vs. 7.6), and Backhand Quality (7.6 vs. 7.1), according to TennisViz. The only advantage TennisViz gives Tiafoe is in Serve Quality (7.9 vs. 7.7), but the Italian’s Serve Quality in Lyon was 8.0. That’s where the recent form comes in. I’m not sure Tiafoe will be doing much of anything better than Musetti at this point. We’ll just have to hope Musetti didn’t celebrate his title run too hard before this one.

Bet: Musetti ML (+100 – 1.5 units)

Tallon Griekspoor vs. Brandon Nakashima

These matches are always very interesting to me. When you have two players with massive serves going up against one another, I just don’t think there should be super heavy favorites. Sure, there are exceptions to that, as some big servers can play from the baseline and others can’t. However, these two players both have some real baseline ability. To me, that means we’re going to get late into sets and have a couple of coin-toss situations, with a couple of points here and there deciding the winner.

Nakashima has obviously had a better season than Griekspoor. I’m not blind to that. However, the peak level for these players isn’t all that different, and Griekspoor might be closer to approaching that. He just won a title in Brussels, meaning he carries some good form into this match. And much like Musetti, as long as these last few days have been business-first, there’s no reason not to believe in him here.

In the end, Nakashima will probably get the job done. But Griekspoor will have his chances as an excellent indoor hard-courter, so I have to take my chances.

Bet: Griekspoor +1.5 Sets (-149 – 1.5 units) & Griekspoor ML (+193 – 0.5 units)

Ugo Humbert vs. Novak Djokovic

I can’t say I feel great about fading Djokovic, and that’s especially true considering how poorly Humbert has played this season. The Frenchman’s winning percentage in 2026 is down at 51.0%, which is the lowest mark he has posted since 2022. However, Humbert is one of the most dangerous players in the world when playing indoors. He has a tremendous serve, plus his style of play from the back of the court features low, penetrating shots.

Humbert should be able to take away time from Djokovic, which really harms the Serbian at this stage in his career. The southpaw should also be able to avoid long rallies, which will obviously favor the 24-time Grand Slam champion significantly.

We also haven’t seen Djokovic since his loss to Hubert Hurkacz in Shanghai, and I do wonder if rust will be a factor for the 39-year-old. He hasn’t played a real match in a couple of weeks, and this will also be the first indoor match he’ll play all year — excluding outdoor events in which the roof had to be closed. If it takes him any time at all to play his way into this match, Humbert could quickly strike and get himself on the board.

Bet: Humbert +1.5 Sets (-123 – 1.5 units) & Humbert ML (+225 – 0.5 units)

Added Plays

I usually have A LOT MORE on the Pro Picks page. Those plays count towards my record and have been a big part of my success this season. Make sure you check them out. I’ll probably add a few more over there, so refresh that page throughout the day if you’re looking for action.

UFC Vegas 123: Moicano vs. Nolan Odds, Picks, Predictions and Best Bets
Image File
Original HTML

UFC Vegas 123 Predictions:

The UFC Meta/APEX facility hosts this Saturday’s UFC Vegas 123 event. Preliminary action starts at 2 p.m. PT, with the main card beginning at 5 p.m. PT.

The card features 13 scheduled bouts, six of which are at Welterweight (170 pounds) and above. Eleven US fighters will be featured on this slate, but only two will have the advantage of minimal travel compared to opponents who must fly in from foreign countries and then make weight to compete in Las Vegas.

This fight slate is comprised of relatively novice, debuting and upstart athletes, as the UFC strives to place the abundance of low-end fringe talent on its APEX cards.

It’s my approach to always support the UFC. They produce 42 to 45 live events a year, which is no easy task, but this fight card is packed with athletes whose talent doesn’t meet the baseline standard for UFC fighters.

Any wondering why UFC finishes are on the rise? It’s because mismatches in matchmaking are far more frequent now that the roster includes some 200 fighters too many!

Last week, Grant Dawson -120 earned a one-sided decision over Tajik fighter Nurullo Aliev. Dawson’s grit ruled the day, and his wrestling sank his opponent. The fight ended in a unanimous decision, so the added .25u wager for the fight to end in split/Maj. Decision is a loser.

Digital profit 2026: 22-17-1 +7.57u

Renato Moicano -115 vs. Tom Nolan -105

Lightweight (155 pounds) main event

This main event features Renato Moicano, a 37-year-old warrior with deep experience. He’s faced the division’s elite and is quite verbally expressive inside and outside the cage.

Moicano faces a man four inches taller, Aussie Tom Nolan, who has a slight reach advantage and is also 11 years younger at 26.

Nolan is 4-1 in UFC competition, and since his debut loss to Nikolas Motta, he has won every fight while stepping up in competition with each opponent.

His last victory was an impressive unanimous decision over France’s Fares Ziam, which clearly set him up to face a high-profile opponent like Moicano in a UFC main event.

As with many Aussies, Nolan’s game is striking-based. He began his career on the Rugby pitch, then transitioned into MMA as a youth. Nolan’s height, reach advantage, striking, and youth will be weapons he can use against a man much older, more experienced, and a highly dangerous BJJ savant.

Renato ‘Money’ Moicano is one of the more gregarious athletes in the organization; his mixed martial arts game has been resurrected because of his intellect, his persona, and his poop talking.

Moicano was one of the few athletes who, years ago, understood how important popularity, magnetism and colorful presentation could be when folded into the direction the UFC had taken.

He transitioned from a mousy, awkward submission fighter to a verbose, podcasting, colorful character who spews, taunts, and challenges whenever a microphone is available.

Moicano evolved his persona in short order and became ‘Money Moicano,’ a loud, turgid, ranting personality that fans immediately gravitated toward.

Moicano’s transformation has captured the imagination of fans and the UFC, and his personality shift also coincided with a change in his fight results. Moicano rattled off four impressive wins from 2022 to 2024 before then-champion Islam Makhachev thwarted his schtick in a 2024 title fight.

Moicano never would have received that Lightweight Championship opportunity before he had created ‘Money Moicano.’

Saturday, Moicano, the personality and the BJJ/Muay Thai black belt, takes on an Aussie badger in Nolan, who has several physical advantages.

Once this fight begins, I look for Nolan to maintain distance and rely upon his stand-up. Nolan will not want to engage, let alone roll with Moicano, for that’s the single most efficient path for the Brazilian to get his hand raised.

No, Nolan must make this a stand-up fight and force Moicano to strike with him to enter the pocket, then attempt to clinch, clasp, and grab the Aussie, force him to the fence, and then onto the mat for a flogging.

Where this fight takes place will be critical, as Moicano will struggle to manage Nolan’s stand-up, while Nolan will give away much expertise if this fight hits the mat.

When the smoke clears, I expect Nolan, who opened -170 and is now darn near a pick ‘em, to have successfully managed Moicano’s takedown advances. I believe he will be tall, strong, and savvy enough to stay standing for much of this fight. Nolan’s height, reach, and especially his youth play in his favor the longer this fight goes, despite Moicano’s five-round championship experience.

In with the new and out with the aged!

Total in this fight: 1.5 Rds Over -210

Jeong Yeong Lee -175 vs. Julian Erosa +145

Featherweight (145 pounds)

South Korean Lee arrives at the APEX after dropping his last two fights to authentic featherweight talent, following close decision wins in his first two UFC battles. Those wins were against athletes no longer competing in the organization.

Lee will give up height and reach in this fight. However, he will be seven years younger than his opponent, which could give Lee an edge as he seeks to get his hand raised and avoid being cut by the UFC. Desperation is a great motivator, and besides his youth, Lee has plenty to fight for: another UFC contract.

Lee’s well-rounded attack can be exposed when facing world-class grappling talent, which his opponent happens to be.

In Julian Erosa, we have one of the more inconsistent fighters by way of results in the UFC, as well as one who holds great acumen in BJJ and grappling.

Erosa is also coming off two defeats, but they were to Melquizael Costa and Lerryan Douglas, two well-versed mixed martial artists. Also, in the Douglas fight, Erosa was injured, and he looked it in defeat.

Erosa, with a wealth of UFC experience, is looking to retire with a win over this mid-level fighter in Lee.

Erosa’s size, grappling, and drive to win put him in a great position to take the offensive, since he doesn’t really need to deal with his opponent’s power, which is something Erosa struggles with, as Lee isn’t shown to have fight-ending power.

Once the fight begins, it seems only a matter of time before Erosa clamps onto his South Korean opponent, drives him against the fence, then takes it to the mat, where his grappling expertise will drown him.

Erosa will benefit from knowing that, in this fight, his opponent’s power is nowhere near on par with the men he has faced recently. This will give Erosa the guts, grit, determination, and drive to floor Lee, then choke him out.

UFC Vegas 123 Best Bet: Julian Erosa +145

Erosa via submission is also a reasonable thought.

Total in this fight: 1.5 Rds. Under -135

My final releases for this week’s UFC Vegas 123 will be available Friday morning across all podcast platforms as well as on the GambLou.com webpage. Thank you for reading, and enjoy the fights!

In HelloNation, Credit Union Expert Darrin DePriest Breaks Down What Sets a Home Equity Loan Apart From a HELOC
Image File
Original HTML

A New Article Explains How Each Option Delivers Funds, How Repayment Works, and Which Expenses Fit Each Structure.

LEAVENWORTH, Kan., Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What is the difference between a home equity loan and a HELOC? A HelloNation article has been published that answers the question by comparing how each product delivers and repays the money.

The article explains that both tools let a homeowner borrow against built-up equity. The real separation lies in how the funds arrive and how they are paid back.

A home equity loan provides a single lump sum at closing. The article notes that repayment follows a set term, usually with a fixed interest rate and a predictable monthly payment.

A home equity line of credit works more like a credit card tied to the house. The borrower receives a limit and draws funds as needed during a set draw period.

Interest typically applies only to the amount actually borrowed rather than the full line. The article describes that structure as a flexible fit for ongoing or uncertain costs.

Projects with a clear price tag tend to suit a home equity loan. The article points to a kitchen remodel or a large medical bill as expenses where the total is known upfront.

A line of credit can work better when costs unfold over months or years. Ongoing renovations, tuition paid across several semesters, and a rolling series of repairs are the examples the piece offers.

Repayment structure is another difference the article weighs. A home equity loan carries one fixed payment from the start, which some borrowers find easier to plan around.

A line of credit often runs in two phases. The article explains that a draw period with interest-only payments can give way to a repayment period where principal comes due.

Rate type matters as well. The piece notes that lines of credit are frequently variable, while the lump sum product commonly carries a fixed rate for its full term.

Some lenders offer a fixed-rate conversion option on all or part of a balance. The article suggests asking about that feature before anything is signed.

Available equity sets the borrowing limit in either case. The article explains that lenders generally cap combined loan balances at a percentage of the home's appraised value.

Closing costs and fees deserve attention too. Appraisal charges, origination fees, and annual fees for keeping a line of credit open all appear in the article's list.

Credit Union Experts regularly review credit reports with members before an application, and the article notes that a stronger credit history generally leads to more favorable pricing.

Shopping more than one lender is advised, because fees and rates vary and a modest rate difference can add up across a long repayment term.

Both products use the home as collateral, which the article treats as the most serious consideration. Missed payments can lead to foreclosure, so borrowing only what fits a budget matters.

A cash-out refinance is mentioned as a related option that replaces the existing mortgage entirely. The article notes it tends to make more sense when current mortgage rates are attractive.

The closing timeline runs several weeks for either product, so the piece suggests building that stretch into any project deadline rather than assuming a quick turnaround.

Darrin DePriest of Frontier Community Credit Union is among the Credit Union Experts whose perspective informs the piece.

What Sets a Home Equity Loan Apart From a HELOC features insights from Darrin DePriest, Credit Union Expert of Leavenworth, Kansas, in HelloNation.
