EPC Power's Intelligent Power Conversion Solutions Directly Address the Fundamental Challenges of an Aging U.S. Power Grid Supporting the Energy Demand Supercycle and the AI Era

POWAY, Calif., Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- EPC Power Corp. ("EPC Power"), a leading North American designer and manufacturer of high-performance, software-defined power conversion solutions for data centers, utility-scale energy storage, and microgrids, today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Flex (NASDAQ: FLEX) for $4.4 billion. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including the receipt of required regulatory approvals, and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026. Building on the two companies' existing collaboration, EPC Power will become, upon closing, a business within Flex's Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment.

The transaction brings EPC Power's differentiated power conversion technology platform to Flex's broad portfolio of power and thermal management technologies for mission-critical applications. EPC Power's next-generation 800-volt data center power architectures, including digital rectifiers and solid-state transformers, enable more efficient power delivery for higher-density AI infrastructure and extend leadership with Flex into an integrated grid-to-chip portfolio. The combined company is positioned to help solve one of the most pressing challenges facing the technology and energy industries today: delivering the fast, resilient and secure power that AI data centers need while supporting stable grid operations amid a generational surge in power demand.

"What we accomplished over the last four years demonstrates the power of strong partnerships and a shared commitment to innovation. Together with Goldman Sachs Alternatives and Cleanhill Partners, EPC Power emerged as a U.S. technology leader in power conversion solutions that enable the next generation of data centers, AI computing, and grid modernization. We expanded our domestic manufacturing footprint nearly tenfold, strengthening America's industrial base and reinforcing the critical role of U.S. innovation in powering the future economy. This is only the beginning of what EPC Power can accomplish," said Jim Fusaro, Chief Executive Officer of EPC Power.

"This is a landmark moment for EPC Power and every colleague who helped build this company. When we founded EPC Power, we set out to solve the hardest problems in power electronics, and our partnership with Goldman Sachs Alternatives and Cleanhill Partners enabled us to solve those problems for mission-critical infrastructure globally," added Devin Dilley, Co-Founder, President and Chief Innovation Officer of EPC Power.

Solving the Binding Constraint on AI Infrastructure

Power availability has become the gating factor for data center growth. As AI workloads drive unprecedented increases in power density, resilience and control requirements, operators must address speed-to-power and load volatility, where the rapid, large-swing power draw of AI training and inference clusters can destabilize the local grid.

EPC Power's technology is purpose-built for these conditions. The company's solutions, including its Agile Grid Forming™ technology, deliver performance and reliability that enables on-site energy storage, microgrid and grid-support configurations for data centers, which allow operators to energize capacity faster and ride through grid instability. Grid operators and utilities benefit from stronger reliability and power quality across their networks.

"We are immensely proud of our partnership with Jim, Devin and the EPC Power team that saw the company launch new product platforms, increase domestic U.S. manufacturing and partner with customers to solve novel challenges in AI power architecture. EPC Power plays a critical role in supporting grid reliability and speed to power during a period of growing concerns around energy security. We wish Flex and the EPC team continued success during their stage of growth," said Alexander Mass, Global Co-Head of Energy Transition Investing within Private Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives.

"As grid resilience and data center power demand have converged into one of the defining challenges of the next decade, it has been a privilege to support EPC Power's operational and commercial scale-up into a global platform positioned at the center of those megatrends," added Eddie Sigman, Investor within Private Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives.

"We first invested in EPC Power in 2021 because we believed power conversion would become a critical enabling technology as renewable generation, grid modernization and digital infrastructure converged. That conviction came well before the extraordinary growth in power demand driven by AI. Since then, we have had the privilege of working closely with Jim, Devin and the EPC team as the company grew, expanded its U.S. manufacturing footprint and created high-quality jobs in the U.S. We are proud to have supported EPC from an early stage and, in its next phase, alongside Goldman Sachs Alternatives as the business entered a new period of growth. Seeing what the team has built over the past five years has been incredibly rewarding, and we believe Flex is the right partner for EPC's next chapter," said Ash Upadhyaya and Rakesh Wilson, Managing Partners at Cleanhill Partners.

Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC. and J.P. Morgan Securities LLC served as financial advisors, and Vinson & Elkins LLP served as legal counsel, to EPC Power and its controlling shareholders Goldman Sachs Alternatives and Cleanhill Partners.

In HelloNation, Real Estate Expert Debi Beiland Outlines Key Considerations Before Purchasing a Historic Home

The article explains how inspections, aging systems, previous renovations, and maintenance costs can help buyers evaluate a historic property.

MAYSVILLE, Ky., Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What should buyers check before buying a historic home?

HelloNation has published an article that provides the answer, featuring insights from Real Estate Expert Debi Beiland of Limestone Properties, Inc. in Maysville, KY.

The article explains that buying a historic home requires looking beyond distinctive architecture and craftsmanship. Age does not automatically indicate serious problems, but maintenance history and previous repairs can vary considerably. A historic home inspection can give buyers a clearer understanding of the property's current condition.

Roof and foundation conditions are important areas to evaluate. The article recommends reviewing the roof's approximate age, materials, and repair history. During a historic home inspection, buyers can also look for foundation movement, moisture, uneven floors, and evidence of previous structural work.

Electrical systems can require additional attention when buying a historic home. An older home electrical system may contain a combination of original and updated components because improvements often occur gradually. Buyers should understand which wiring, panels, outlets, and service components have been replaced and which may require future work.

Plumbing deserves a similar review. An older home plumbing system may include several types of supply and drain materials installed during different periods. Leaks, corrosion, low water pressure, and slow drainage can indicate areas that deserve further evaluation.

The article notes that an older home plumbing system can function properly even when some components are nearing the end of their expected service life. Understanding the age and condition of major systems can help buyers anticipate potential ownership expenses rather than focusing only on immediate repairs.

Previous remodeling is another important consideration. A historic home renovation may have changed kitchens, bathrooms, wiring, plumbing, windows, or structural elements. Buyers can ask when major improvements occurred and whether documentation is available to better understand how the property has changed over time.

The article explains that an earlier historic home renovation may not reflect current construction practices. Historic designations or preservation requirements can also affect future exterior changes, additions, windows, and roofing materials. Understanding applicable requirements before purchasing can help buyers anticipate approval processes and project limitations.

Heating, cooling, windows, and water management should also be reviewed. Historic homes may have HVAC systems adapted to structures that were not originally designed for modern equipment. Gutters, downspouts, grading, and drainage should also move water away from foundations and other vulnerable areas.

A realistic home maintenance budget can help buyers prepare for routine care and aging components. The article recommends considering inspection findings together because several manageable projects can become a significant combined expense. A home maintenance budget can account for expected repairs without assuming every older feature requires immediate replacement.

Specialized evaluations may be appropriate when an initial inspection raises concerns. An older home electrical system, structural condition, or other major component cannot always be evaluated by appearance alone. Careful review can help buyers develop realistic expectations about repairs, future improvements, and ongoing ownership.

What Buyers Should Check Before Buying a Historic Home features insights from Debi Beiland, Real Estate Expert of Maysville, KY, in HelloNation.

Board of Commissioners confirms permanent leadership following a two-year interim tenure marked by record growth and expanded access to care

HOLLYWOOD, Fla., Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The South Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners has voted to name Shane Strum President and Chief Executive Officer of Memorial Healthcare System, confirming a role he has held on an interim basis since September 2024. As permanent CEO, Strum will continue to lead a system of more than 17,000 physicians and employees.

During his interim tenure, Strum has overseen the opening of two new freestanding emergency rooms in Miramar and Pembroke Pines, with a third under construction in Hollywood; the start of construction on Memorial Regional Hospital's new $670 million bed tower; new investment in robotic surgery, cardiovascular care, and imaging technology; and the launch and clinical expansion of Better Together, Memorial's collaboration with Broward Health to expand access to primary and maternal care, now growing into oncology, neurosciences, and graduate medical education across both systems. Memorial also posted the strongest financial performance in the system's 73-year history this past fiscal year.

Elizabeth Justen, Chair of the Board of Commissioners, said the board's vote reflects two years of measurable results and confidence in Strum's ability to lead Memorial into its next chapter. "Shane has delivered results our community can see and feel: new emergency rooms, a state-of-the-art bed tower now under construction, and the strongest financial performance in Memorial's history," Justen said. "He's proven he has both the vision and the discipline to lead this system, and today's vote reflects the board's full confidence in him."

Strum is a Broward County native with nearly 30 years of experience across healthcare, public service, higher education, and hospital governance.

Strum said he's honored by the board's confidence and energized by what's ahead. "I'm grateful for the trust this board and this community have placed in me," he said. "Memorial is stronger today than it's ever been, and I'm excited to keep building on that momentum, expanding access to care, growing our clinical capabilities, and taking the Better Together collaboration with Broward Health to the next level. This is just the beginning of what we can accomplish together for Broward County."

Strum, who also serves as President and CEO of Broward Health, will continue to lead both organizations. The two health systems remain separately governed, with independent boards, budgets, and operations.

Memorial's leadership team and reporting structure remain unchanged. The system will continue to operate as the South Broward Hospital District, serving its patient communities across six hospitals, including Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.

Where Surgery Meets Sculpture: Dr. Emmanuel De La Cruz Brings a Fine Artist's Eye to Modern Body Contouring

Double board-certified Houston plastic surgeon combines classical sculpture, advanced body-contouring techniques and published research on large-volume liposuction safety

HOUSTON, Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Long before a patient enters the operating room, plastic surgeon Emmanuel De La Cruz, MD, is thinking in three dimensions.

He studies how light moves across the abdomen, where shadows naturally define muscular anatomy, how the waist transitions into the hips, and how subtle changes in proportion can transform the appearance of the entire torso.

It is a perspective shaped not only by medicine, but by another discipline: classical sculpture.

Dr. De La Cruz, a double board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon and founder of De La Cruz Plastic Surgery in Houston, has spent years studying classical portrait and figurative sculpture. Today, he applies many of those same principles of anatomy, proportion, form, light and shadow to advanced body-contouring surgery.

"Sculpture changed the way I see the human body," said De La Cruz. "You stop seeing an abdomen, a waist or a hip as separate structures. You begin seeing how every contour flows into the next. That three-dimensional understanding is incredibly important in body contouring."

Beyond Simply Removing Fat

For De La Cruz, modern liposuction is not simply a matter of removing as much fat as possible.

In high-definition body contouring, the objective is to selectively modify the thickness of the adipose layer while respecting the underlying muscular anatomy and the patient's natural proportions.

That distinction, he says, separates fat removal from body sculpting.

"If you remove fat without understanding the anatomy underneath it, you may make someone smaller, but that doesn't necessarily mean you've created a better shape," De La Cruz said. "Body contouring is about proportion. Sometimes a few millimeters in the right location can be more important aesthetically than removing another liter of fat."

His practice incorporates techniques including VASER-assisted liposuction, power-assisted liposuction and, when appropriate, energy-based technologies designed to complement surgical body contouring.

But De La Cruz cautions that increasingly sophisticated technology should never become a substitute for surgical judgment.

"A device is a tool. It doesn't select the patient, understand anatomy, manage fluid shifts or recognize a developing complication. Technology can enhance what we do, but the surgeon and the surgical team remain responsible for the operation."

Bringing Patient Safety Into the Conversation

De La Cruz has also contributed to the medical literature on a subject receiving increasing attention as body-contouring procedures become more extensive: large-volume liposuction and the overweight patient.

His peer-reviewed article, "Lipoplasty in the Overweight Patient," published in Clinics in Plastic Surgery, examines patient selection and perioperative considerations surrounding larger-volume procedures, including fluid management, prevention of hypothermia, venous thromboembolism prophylaxis and postoperative monitoring.

His central message is that the safety of liposuction cannot be reduced to a single number.

"People naturally focus on how many liters were removed or how many hours an operation lasted, but surgical safety is much more complex than that," De La Cruz said. "You have to consider the patient, the magnitude of the operation, anesthesia, fluid management, temperature control, VTE prevention, the surgical facility and the level of postoperative monitoring together."

For extensive procedures, De La Cruz advocates matching the surgical environment and postoperative resources to the magnitude of the operation.

"The larger and more physiologically demanding the procedure becomes, the more important the infrastructure surrounding that patient becomes," he said. "The right patient, the right procedure, the right surgical and anesthesia team, and the right facility all have to come together."

Rejecting the "One-Look" Era of Plastic Surgery

At a time when social media can rapidly popularize a particular waistline, silhouette or body type, De La Cruz believes plastic surgery should move in the opposite direction.

He rejects the concept that every patient visiting a particular surgeon should emerge with a recognizable "signature" body.

"I don't believe in giving everyone the same look," De La Cruz said. "Every person walks into my office with different anatomy, proportions and goals. My responsibility is to understand what is already there and determine how surgery can enhance it—not erase their individuality."

It is a philosophy he summarizes simply:

"Not one look. Your look."

The Future of Plastic Surgery May Be More Human, Not Less

As artificial intelligence, imaging systems and increasingly sophisticated surgical technologies enter aesthetic medicine, De La Cruz believes the next evolution of plastic surgery will depend on combining technology with something far older: an understanding of human form.

"We have extraordinary technology available to us today, and it will continue to improve," he said. "But plastic surgery is still an art grounded in anatomy. You need science to operate safely, technology to expand what is possible, and an artistic understanding of proportion to know when you've done enough."

For De La Cruz, that intersection of science, technology and sculpture represents the future of aesthetic surgery.

About Emmanuel De La Cruz, MD

Emmanuel De La Cruz, MD, is a Houston-based plastic and reconstructive surgeon who is double board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. His clinical interests include high-definition body contouring, liposuction, abdominoplasty and advanced aesthetic surgery.

He is the author of the peer-reviewed article "Lipoplasty in the Overweight Patient," published in Clinics in Plastic Surgery. His study of classical portrait and figurative sculpture has also influenced his three-dimensional approach to human anatomy and aesthetic surgery.

About De La Cruz Plastic Surgery

De La Cruz Plastic Surgery is a Houston-area aesthetic plastic surgery practice focused on individualized surgical planning, patient safety and advanced body-contouring techniques. Its philosophy is centered on enhancing each patient's individual anatomy rather than creating a standardized aesthetic.

Award Shines Spotlight on Ubiquinol's Role in Mitochondrial Health and Mitoceutical Innovation in the Global Healthspan Movement

Seventh International Accolade Affirms Kaneka Ubiquinol™ Leadership in Evidence-Based Mitochondrial Health, Supporting Healthspan from Preconception to Healthy Ageing[i]

The Lancet Public Health, August 2026: Global lifespan–healthspan gap widens to 10.7 years, underscoring the importance of supporting general health and wellbeing throughout life, especially in ageing individuals[ii]

BANGKOK, Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Kaneka Corporation, the sole global manufacturer of Ubiquinol, is thrilled to announce that Kaneka Ubiquinol™ has been awarded Ingredient of the Year: Healthspan Award at the NutraIngredients-Asia Awards 2026.

The highly coveted award represents Kaneka Ubiquinol's third consecutive recognition at the NutraIngredients-Asia Awards, following Healthy Ageing Ingredient of the Year as the Winner in 2024 and the Innovation in Women's Health Award as a Finalist in 2025.

The latest accolade recognises Kaneka Ubiquinol™ at a pivotal time in healthcare, as attention increasingly shifts beyond lifespan – the number of years we live – towards healthspan: maintaining health and wellbeing throughout life.

At the heart of this conversation is mitochondrial health. Mitochondria, commonly referred to as the 'powerhouses of the cell', are fundamental to cellular energy production, found in almost every cell in the body[iii]. The endogenous antioxidant Ubiquinol, supports the production of energy in the mitochondria and helps reduce cellular free radical damage[iv]. This growing "mitoceutical" category - nutraceuticals purpose-formulated to support mitochondrial function - is central to advancing healthspan science.

Evidence shows that each heart cell contains approximately 5000+ mitochondria,[v] with every cell in the body powered by mitochondria, supporting energy production from preconception to healthy ageing, placing mitochondrial health at the centre of Kaneka's decades-long research into Ubiquinol[vi].

"To receive our seventh international accolade and third consecutive recognition from NutraIngredients-Asia is an extraordinary honour," said Tsuyoshi Takakuwa, Head of Marketing and Sales (APAC), Supplemental Nutrition Business Division, Kaneka Corporation.

"We sincerely thank the judges, our customers, research partners, healthcare professionals and our team who continue to advance understanding of Ubiquinol and mitochondrial health worldwide. We also congratulate our fellow finalists and winners."

"Our vision extends across the lifespan, supporting healthspan from preconception to general health and wellbeing with ageing. As an innovation partner to brands worldwide, we are committed to combining 50+ years of Ubiquinol research with scientific education, ingredient expertise and collaboration to help advance health solutions globally," said Kazuki Takita, Assistant Manager, Marketing and Sales (APAC), Kaneka Ubiquinol™.

Gary Scattergood, Managing Director Asia, William Reed, Publisher of Nutraingredients Asia remarked, "the judges were hugely impressed with the wealth of scientific evidence behind the ingredient, as well as the significant evidence of commercial success across the region, with an impressive line-up of advocates across medical and healthcare practitioners."

Former Meta Superintelligence Labs Agentic AI Lead Joins Project 777, Strengthening Technical Leadership Alongside Former U.S. Space Force CTO Preston Dunlap

Frontier-AI and national-security technical leaders strengthen Project 777 as it advances a compounding intelligence layer demonstrating bounded recursive self-improvement and independent runtime validation.

DALLAS, Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A2035 Ventures has expanded the technical leadership around Project 777 as the company advances strategic discussions with major AI organizations.

Preston Dunlap, the first Chief Technology Officer and Chief Architect of the U.S. Space Force and U.S. Air Force, serves as a Technical Advisor to Project 777. Sean Perry, formerly with Agentic AI at Meta Superintelligence Labs, has joined as Strategic Technical Lead.

Dunlap has advised Project 777 since April 2025, providing technical perspective as the architecture and evidence base have developed.

Perry reviewed Project 777's Technical Proof Packet after leaving Meta's superintelligence organization and is now helping lead technical diligence and strategic technical engagement.

"Project 777 has now demonstrated three core breakthroughs: runtime intelligence and safety, bounded recursive self-improvement, and cross-domain operation through the same core architecture. Sean and Preston bring extraordinary perspective from frontier AI and national-security systems as we strengthen the evidence and scale what already works," said TK Stohlman, Founder & Architect of Project 777.

Project 777 is a compounding intelligence layer above frontier models and agents. Its three demonstrated breakthroughs are runtime intelligence and safety, which independently governs what may advance; bounded recursive self-improvement, which allows validated improvements to persist and compound; and cross-domain architecture, which allows the same core system to operate across materially different sectors without redesign. As agents work, built-in layers continuously check their reasoning, evidence, and safety, and can stop or redirect work before it advances. The intelligence producing the work cannot simply approve itself. This is what allows intelligence to improve and compound while the system remains under control.

Google DeepMind's recent From AGI to ASI paper identifies recursive self-improvement, new architectures, and multi-agent collective intelligence as credible pathways toward artificial superintelligence. Over the past two years, Project 777 has independently built and operated a governed architecture that brings several of those dynamics together: bounded recursive self-improvement, a model-agnostic multi-agent intelligence layer, and independent runtime control. The system carries validated intelligence, evaluation history, accepted improvements, rejected changes, and accumulated operating experience forward even as the underlying frontier models change. A2035 Ventures believes this combination represents early operating signs of safe superintelligence.

Project 777 also has early commercial validation. A2035 Ventures previously entered into an option and license agreement with Atherion Bioresearch covering up to three Project 777-generated disease programs. Aggregate potential non-royalty consideration across the programs can exceed $1 million, plus downstream royalties.

A2035 Ventures is advancing strategic discussions with major technology and frontier-AI organizations while selectively licensing Project 777-generated solutions.

About A2035 Ventures

A2035 Ventures is building the intelligence layer above frontier AI. Its core technology, Project 777, is a model-agnostic compounding intelligence architecture designed to make AI capability accumulate rather than reset with each model or run. Project 777 retains validated intelligence and carries that capability forward across models, runs, and materially different domains. The system has demonstrated bounded recursive self-improvement across solutions, workflows, and architecture, allowing accumulated intelligence to continue compounding even as the underlying models change. A2035 Ventures is advancing strategic discussions with major technology and frontier-AI organizations while selectively licensing Project 777-generated solutions.

BERLIN, 4.

QA FAIL (need review): The TARGET contains factual inaccuracies: (1) It describes the Go carbon-fiber mouse as having an '8K sampling rate,' but the SOURCE specifies a wired and wireless 8K polling rate for the Master version, also mentioning the PAW3955 sensor and adjustable lift-off distance; (2) It adds the unsupported claim that the Echo mouse is suited for daily use 'rather than pure competitive play,' which is not present in the SOURCE. The TARGET also omits certain details but these additions and the technical misstatement are sufficient to fail the accuracy check.
