Rome and Berlin post the largest truck advantages, a result linked to freight access time windows and distributed road networks that professional fleets can exploit.

Hiperbaric to Present Its Hot Isostatic Pressing Systems at IMTS 2026
Image File
Original HTML

The company will exhibit at Booth 236028 from September 14 to 19 at McCormick Place, Chicago, showcasing components produced by its HIP customers

CHICAGO, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Hiperbaric will present its range of Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) equipment at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) 2026, held September 14 to 19 at McCormick Place in Chicago. The company will be at Booth 236028 in the North Building, Level 3, where it will display sample components produced by HIP customers and meet with manufacturers evaluating the process for cast and additively manufactured parts.

HIP applies high pressure and high temperature to a component at the same time, closing the internal porosity and micro-defects left by casting and by powder-bed additive processes. Hiperbaric's presses operate at pressures up to 207 MPa (30,000 psi), with maximum temperature set by furnace type: 2,000 °C (3,632 °F) with a graphite furnace and 1,400 °C (2,552 °F) with molybdenum. Metallic parts leave the cycle at full theoretical density, with measurable gains in fatigue life, ductility, and impact strength. Some ceramic components can retain minor residual porosity. For additively manufactured parts, HIP is the step that brings mechanical performance in line with forged material.

"The North American market leads in additive manufacturing adoption, but industrializing these processes means proving structural reliability in the parts that carry load," said Andrés Hernando, CEO of Hiperbaric. "Our presence at IMTS 2026 reflects a long-term commitment to US manufacturers. We bring the process expertise that aerospace and medical producers need to qualify parts, alongside the equipment itself."

A HIP Range from Materials Qualification to Serial Production

Hiperbaric builds HIP systems across a range of hot zone sizes. The HIP 38 offers a 380 mm (14.96 in) hot zone diameter and 850 mm (33.46 in) usable height. Its size and performance make it suitable for installation in companies with medium production capacities. The HIP 107 offers a 1,075 mm (42.3 in) diameter and 2,670 mm (105.1 in) height for serial production runs. Both operate at 207 MPa (30,000 psi) and reach 1,400 °C with a molybdenum furnace or 2,000 °C with graphite.

Across the range, the presses share a control architecture built to hold cycle parameters repeatable from first qualification runs through production, and a vessel and furnace design aimed at reducing energy consumption per cycle. Specialists from the company's HIP team will walk visitors through configurations, cycle times, and installation requirements at the booth.

Applications and Qualification

Aerospace manufacturers apply HIP to nickel superalloys, titanium alloys, and other high-performance alloys used in engine components and structures. Medical manufacturers use it on implants and prosthetics, where density and fatigue behavior govern service life. Further applications include gas turbine components for the energy sector, high-load automotive parts, and tooling and dies, where HIP extends time between replacements. Components representing several of these applications will be shown at the stand.

Producers qualifying HIP as a heat treatment operation work under AMS 2750 pyrometry requirements and, for aerospace supply chains, Nadcap AC7102/6 audit criteria. Hiperbaric designs the instrumentation, temperature uniformity, and control systems on its HIP equipment to support customers working toward those requirements.

Hiperbaric also builds Cold Isostatic Pressing (CIP) equipment. CIP applies uniform hydrostatic pressure at room temperature, from 100 to 600 MPa (14,500 to 87,000 psi), compacting metallic or ceramic powders in an elastomeric mold into near-net-shape green parts at up to 95% of theoretical density before sintering.

Manufacturers and partners can book a technical or commercial meeting with Hiperbaric's HIP specialists during the show by writing to [email protected]. Media inquiries should be directed to the contact below.

University of Illinois Springfield and Non-Profit Ed3 Global Partner to Help Illinois K-12 Educators Put AI Guidance Into Practice

Following Illinois' release of comprehensive statewide AI guidance for schools, UIS and ION eLearning partner with Ed3 to translate policy into classroom-ready professional learning

SPRINGFIELD, Ill., Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The University of Illinois Springfield (UIS), through its Center for Academic and Professional Education (CAPE) and ION eLearning program, and Ed3 have announced a strategic partnership to deliver AI literacy and professional development courses designed for educators across Illinois. The partnership positions UIS among institutions working to translate emerging state-level AI guidance into scalable, credit-bearing professional learning for teachers.

On July 9, 2026, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) released comprehensive statewide guidance on the use of artificial intelligence in PreK-12 schools. For districts across Illinois, the challenge now is translating that guidance into classroom practice. UIS's ION eLearning brings more than 25 years of experience delivering professional development in online teaching, online leadership, accessibility, and open educational resources. Through the partnership, UIS is pairing that infrastructure with Ed3's classroom-tested, pedagogy-first approach to AI professional learning, creating a ready-made pathway for Illinois educators to move from AI guidance to implementation.

Starting September 8, 2026, UIS will offer a suite of self-paced, fully online courses and stackable micro-credentials co-developed with Ed3, a nonprofit that has supported more than 20,000 educator enrollments across 48 states, representing more than 900,000 hours of professional development. Rather than treating AI as a tool to bolt onto existing practice, the courses begin with research-based pedagogy and build outward, equipping educators with the judgment and practical skills to use AI thoughtfully to strengthen teaching and learning.

"The University of Illinois Springfield and ION eLearning are proud to partner with Ed3 to expand access to high-quality pedagogy-first AI professional learning for teachers across Illinois."

~ Russ Stoup, Acting Director of Continuing and Professional Education, University of Illinois Springfield

"PreK-12 AI guidance is only as good as the degree to which it positively impacts instruction in the classroom. What stands out about this partnership is that UIS and ION eLearning aren't waiting to see how the policy-to-practice gap gets closed - they're taking the lead on it, giving Illinois teachers a credentialed, classroom-ready way to put this guidance into practice right now. That's the kind of leadership we think every state needs from its higher-ed partners, and we're proud to help UIS deliver it."

~ Vriti Saraf, Founder & CEO, Ed3

Courses are available for Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and Continuing Education Units (CEUs), with stackable micro-credential pathways that allow educators to build credentials over time and move from AI literacy to AI agency.

Paris: Lkw effizienter trotz hohem Leerlauf

SafeLease Launches SafeHome for Manufactured Housing Communities

Resident insurance compliance management, affordable liability coverage, and a new line of revenue for the community

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- SafeLease, a technology-driven insurance provider serving more than 4,000 commercial properties, today announced the launch of SafeHome, its suite of insurance products for manufactured housing community operators.

Nearly every manufactured housing lease requires residents to carry liability coverage, but property management systems do not track compliance, and an estimated 35% of manufactured homeowners carry no insurance at all.1 When an uninsured resident has a loss, the claim frequently lands on the community owner.

SafeHome provides:

- Verification. SafeHome makes it easy for residents to provide evidence of their own policy or enrolls them in coverage. Communities can easily verify that 100% of their residents are compliant with insurance requirements.

- Coverage residents can afford. The SafeHome liability waiver carries limits from $100,000 to $500,000, starting at $20 per month, reaching residents priced out of full homeowner's coverage.

- A compliance dashboard. Coverage status for every home in one shared view, with no separate system for site staff to learn. SafeHome integrates with leading manufactured housing management software.

- Revenue on every enrolled home. Communities earn a monthly admin fee for each home enrolled in coverage. A community can model its own numbers with the NOI calculator at safelease.com/safehome.

"Across commercial real estate, SafeLease's role is to reduce property managers' risk while providing an ancillary revenue source," said Kierstin Payne, Director of Manufactured Housing Sales at SafeLease. "Helping managers administer their lease requirements is where that starts. In manufactured housing the coverage clause is already in nearly every lease. What has been missing is an easy way to track compliance and offer affordable coverage for residents."

SafeHome will be available to manufactured housing community operators nationwide.
