Insurance Agent Nick Hogan Explains What First-Time Homeowners Often Miss About Homeowners Insurance in HelloNation
Image File
Original HTML

The article explains key parts of a homeowners insurance policy that every first-time buyer should understand before filing a claim.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Sept. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What does homeowners insurance actually cover? A HelloNation article featuring insights from Insurance Agent Nick Hogan provides the answer by explaining the parts of a homeowners insurance policy that first-time buyers often overlook and why understanding them before moving in can help prevent costly surprises.

The article explains that many first-time homeowners focus on their purchase price, mortgage, and moving expenses while spending less time learning how their homeowners insurance works. Understanding a homeowners insurance policy before a covered loss occurs can help homeowners make informed decisions and feel more prepared if they ever need to file a claim.

According to the article, many people mistakenly believe homeowners insurance protects only the structure of a house. In reality, a homeowners insurance policy often includes several different types of protection that work together. Learning what each part covers allows homeowners to better understand how their policy responds in different situations.

The HelloNation article explains that one of the primary components of homeowners insurance is coverage for the home's structure. If a house is damaged by a covered event such as fire, hail, or wind, the policy may help pay for repairs or rebuilding. The article encourages homeowners to review their coverage periodically to make sure it continues to reflect the value of their home.

Another important feature discussed in the article is personal property coverage. Personal property coverage helps protect belongings such as furniture, clothing, electronics, kitchen appliances, and other possessions if they are damaged or stolen during a covered event. The article notes that many first-time homeowners underestimate the value of their belongings and recommends creating a home inventory to better understand whether their current protection is sufficient.

The article also highlights the importance of liability coverage. If someone is injured on a homeowner's property or the homeowner accidentally causes damage to another person's property, liability coverage may help pay certain covered costs. While these situations may not happen often, understanding how liability coverage works helps homeowners recognize the broader protection included within their policy.

Another topic covered in the article is additional living expenses coverage. If a home cannot be occupied because of a covered loss, additional living expenses coverage may help pay for temporary housing, meals, and other eligible living expenses while repairs are completed. The article explains that this coverage can ease financial stress during an already difficult situation.

The article also encourages homeowners to understand how their deductible affects both premiums and claim costs. A deductible represents the amount a policyholder pays before insurance begins covering a covered loss. Choosing a higher deductible may lower monthly premiums while increasing out-of-pocket expenses following a claim. Selecting a lower deductible generally has the opposite effect.

The article emphasizes the importance of reviewing coverage limits and understanding policy exclusions. Coverage limits establish the maximum amounts an insurance company may pay for covered losses, while policy exclusions identify situations that are not included under a standard homeowners insurance policy. Damage caused by floods or earthquakes, for example, may require separate insurance depending on where a homeowner lives.

The article concludes that homeowners insurance should be reviewed as life changes occur. Home improvements, new belongings, and changing household needs can all affect the amount and type of protection that makes sense. Regularly reviewing a homeowners insurance policy helps ensure coverage continues to align with both the home and the homeowner's financial goals.

What First-Time Homeowners Often Miss About Insurance features insights from Nick Hogan, Insurance Agent of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, in HelloNation.

1 MONTH INVESTOR DEADLINE: UWM Holdings Corporation Investors with Substantial Losses Have Opportunity to Lead Class Action Lawsuit Before October 13, 2026 Deadline, Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP Announces - UWMC
Image File
Original HTML

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The law firm of Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP announces that purchasers or acquirers of UWM Holdings Corporation (NYSE: UWMC) securities between March 9, 2026 and August 5, 2026, both dates inclusive (the "Class Period"), have until Tuesday, October 13, 2026 to seek appointment as lead plaintiff of the UWM class action lawsuit. Captioned Bond v. UWM Holdings Corporation, No. 26-cv-12862 (E.D. Mich.), the UWM class action lawsuit charges UWM and certain of UWM's top executive officers with violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

If you suffered substantial losses and wish to serve as lead plaintiff of the UWM class action lawsuit, please provide your information here:

https://www.rgrdlaw.com/cases-uwm-holdings-corporation-class-action-lawsuit-uwmc.html

You can also contact attorneys Ken Dolitsky or Michael Albert of Robbins Geller by calling 800/851-7783 or via e-mail at [email protected].

CASE ALLEGATIONS: UWM engages in the origination, sale, and servicing residential mortgage lending. According to the complaint, in December 2025, UWM and Two Harbors Investment Corp. signed an all-stock merger agreement valued at $1.3 billion to expand UWM's mortgage servicing rights. Allegedly, in March 2026, Two Harbors Investment Corp. terminated the UWM agreement due to a competing offer and agreed to pay UWM's termination fee.

The UWM class action lawsuit alleges that defendants throughout the Class Period made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (i) UWM had deviated from its traditional strategy of not hedging its mortgage servicing rights to take a major hedge position; (ii) UWM over-hedged itself in anticipation of the Two Harbors Investment Corp. transaction; (iii) UWM's purported efforts to balance its risk in fact created an excess hedging risk; and (iv) that, as a result of the foregoing, defendants' positive statements about UWM's business, operations, and prospects were materially misleading and/or lacked a reasonable basis.

On August 5, 2026, after the market closed, UWM reported second quarter fiscal year 2026 financial results, allegedly including a nearly $603.2 million interest rate derivatives loss which contributed to a $451.9 million second quarter net loss, and that total equity fell 43.6% year over year, reflecting the net loss and derivative-related charges. Then, on August 6, 2026, UWM held an earnings call in connection with its second quarter 2026 financial results. According to the complaint, UWM's Chief Executive Officer, Mathew Ishbia, disclosed "[w]e were over-hedged, if you think of it that way, protecting against the Two Harbors transaction" and that "[w]e don't traditionally hedge our MSRs [Mortgage Servicing Rights]" but "when you're going through and acquiring a company like Two Harbors and a massive MSR book… it created a little more risk. So . . . we did put a hedge on to protect against that risk and then a lot of things happen[ed]…and then obviously, the Two Harbors transaction went away. And so a confluence of events that created a hedge loss." On this news, the price of UWM shares fell nearly 35%, according to the complaint.

THE LEAD PLAINTIFF PROCESS: The Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 permits any investor who purchased or acquired UWM securities during the Class Period to seek appointment as lead plaintiff in the UWM class action lawsuit. A lead plaintiff is generally the movant with the greatest financial interest in the relief sought by the putative class who is also typical and adequate of the putative class. A lead plaintiff acts on behalf of all other class members in directing the UWM class action lawsuit. The lead plaintiff can select a law firm of its choice to litigate the UWM class action lawsuit. An investor's ability to share in any potential future recovery is not dependent upon serving as lead plaintiff of the UWM class action lawsuit.

SAN DIEGO, Sept. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP announces that purchasers or acquirers of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: REGN) common stock between August 1, 2025 and May 15, 2026, inclusive (the "Class Period"), have until tomorrow, Monday, September 14, 2026 to seek appointment as lead plaintiff of the Regeneron class action lawsuit. Captioned Cheatham v. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., No. 26-cv-06026 (S.D.N.Y.), the Regeneron class action lawsuit charges Regeneron as well as certain of Regeneron's top executives with violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

CASE ALLEGATIONS: Regeneron is a pharmaceutical company that discovers, invents, develops, manufactures, tests, and commercializes medicines to treat various disorders worldwide.

The Regeneron class action lawsuit alleges that defendants throughout the Class Period made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (i) defendants created the false impression that they possessed reliable information demonstrating that Regeneron's Phase III Fianlimab-Libtayo Study was well-poised for success, while minimizing risks to the study's odds of achieving its primary endpoint and its overall statistical validity arising from the prolonged event rate slowdown; (ii) Regeneron's preliminary statistical assumptions were fundamentally flawed; (iii) the active treatment arm was failing to achieve meaningful clinical differentiation over standard therapies; and (iv) the trial would ultimately fail to reach statistical significance on its primary endpoint even without overperformance of the control arm.

On April 29, 2026, during Regeneron's first quarter earnings call, defendants allegedly disclosed that the Phase III Fianlimab-Libtayo Study had been altered, expanding the number of patients in the study eligible for "analysis of progression-free survival." On this news, the price of Regeneron stock declined more than 6%, according to the complaint.

Then, after-market on May 15, 2026, Regeneron issued a press release allegedly announcing that the "Phase 3 Trial of Fianlimab . . . did not reach statistical significance for the primary endpoint of improvement in progression-free survival (PFS)." On this news, the price of Regeneron stock dropped nearly 10%, according to the complaint.

Phase III MAVERICK Trial Supports Brain MRI Surveillance Alone as Standard of Care for Small-Cell Lung Cancer

MRI surveillance without prophylactic cranial irradiation improved cognitive failure-free survival and substantially reduced serious treatment-related adverse events

SEOUL, Republic of Korea, Sept. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Results from the international phase III SWOG S1827 MAVERICK trial show that brain MRI surveillance alone improved cognitive failure-free survival compared with MRI surveillance plus prophylactic cranial irradiation (PCI) in patients with small-cell lung cancer (SCLC). The findings support MRI surveillance alone as the standard of care for patients with SCLC, according to research presented at the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC).

For decades, PCI has been used after initial therapy for SCLC because studies conducted before routine MRI demonstrated that it reduced brain metastases and improved overall survival. MAVERICK was designed to determine whether modern MRI surveillance could allow patients to avoid PCI—and its potential cognitive and other toxicities—without compromising survival.

The trial enrolled 304 patients with limited-stage or extensive-stage SCLC between January 2020 and December 2025. All participants had completed initial therapy and had no brain metastases on MRI before enrollment. Patients were randomly assigned to MRI surveillance alone or MRI surveillance plus PCI (25 Gy in 10 fractions). In both groups, brain MRIs were performed every three months during the first year and every six months during the second year, with cognitive testing conducted at the same intervals. The study's cognitive assessments included the Hopkins Verbal Learning Test-Revised, Controlled Oral Word Association and Trail Making Test.

At a median follow up of 22 months among living patients, MRI surveillance alone significantly improved cognitive failure-free survival, the trial's primary endpoint, reducing the risk of cognitive failure or death by 40% compared with MRI plus PCI (HR 0.60; 90% CI 0.46–0.78; p=0.001). The benefit was similar among patients with limited-stage and extensive-stage disease and regardless of whether patients received immunotherapy.

A preliminary overall survival analysis, conducted after 128 deaths, showed no apparent difference between the treatment strategies (HR for the MRI alone arm, 0.90; 90% CI 0.67–1.20). The final overall survival analysis is planned after 190 deaths. Brain metastasis-free survival also was not significantly different between the two groups (HR 1.25; 90% CI 0.95–1.66).

Serious treatment-related adverse events were less frequent with MRI surveillance alone. Grade 3–5 adverse events occurred in 0.8% of patients receiving MRI surveillance alone compared with 7.9% of those receiving MRI plus PCI (p=0.004). One grade 5 encephalopathy event occurred in the MRI plus PCI group.

"MRI surveillance alone was associated with improved cognitive failure-free survival compared to a strategy of MRI surveillance plus PCI. The benefit of MRI surveillance alone also appears to be consistent across patients with both limited-stage and extensive-stage small-cell lung cancer," said Chad Rusthoven, MD, of the University of Colorado School of Medicine and the study presenter. "These results support MRI surveillance alone as the standard of care for patients with SCLC."

Phase III TAISHAN-302 Trial Shows Tam-Peli Significantly Improves Survival in Relapsed Small-Cell Lung Cancer

Anti-B7-H3 antibody-drug conjugate reduced the risk of death by 54% versus topotecan and improved

progression-free survival and response rates

SEOUL, Republic of Korea, Sept. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The phase III TAISHAN-302 trial found that tambotatug pelitecan (Tam-Peli, YL201), a novel anti-B7-H3 antibody-drug conjugate, significantly improved overall survival, progression-free survival and objective response rate compared with topotecan in patients with relapsed small-cell lung cancer (SCLC). The findings were presented at the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC).

Relapsed SCLC remains a highly aggressive disease with limited effective treatment options and poor outcomes following first-line immunotherapy and platinum-based chemotherapy. Topotecan has long been a standard second-line treatment, but its survival benefit remains modest. TAISHAN-302 evaluated Tam-Peli as a second-line treatment for patients whose SCLC had relapsed after first-line therapy.

The randomized, open-label study enrolled 451 patients, with 225 assigned to Tam-Peli and 226 to topotecan. Patients receiving Tam-Peli were treated with 2.0 mg/kg intravenously on day 1 of each three-week cycle, with a maximum dose of 200 mg. Treatment continued until disease progression or unacceptable toxicity. The study's primary endpoint was overall survival, with progression-free survival and objective response rate as key secondary endpoints.

As of May 20, 2026, after a median follow-up of 9.4 months, median overall survival was 13.3 months with Tam-Peli compared with 9.4 months with topotecan. Tam-Peli reduced the risk of death by 54% (HR 0.46; 95% CI 0.35–0.62; p0.0001). The survival benefit was consistent across prespecified subgroups, including patients with brain metastases, liver metastases and a chemotherapy-free interval of less than 90 days.

Tam-Peli also significantly improved progression-free survival. Median progression-free survival was 7.4 months with Tam-Peli versus 2.8 months with topotecan, representing a 71% reduction in the risk of disease progression or death (HR 0.29; 95% CI 0.23–0.37; p0.0001). The objective response rate was 59.1% with Tam-Peli compared with 9.7% with topotecan (p0.0001).

The safety profile of Tam-Peli was considered manageable and consistent with its known profile, with no new safety signals identified. Grade 3 or higher treatment-related adverse events occurred in 46.4% of patients receiving Tam-Peli compared with 74.7% receiving topotecan, and there were no treatment-related deaths in the Tam-Peli arm. Treatment-emergent interstitial lung disease or pneumonitis occurred in 4.9% of patients receiving Tam-Peli and 1.4% receiving topotecan; grade 3 events occurred in 0.9% of patients in each group, with no grade 4 or 5 events reported.

"TAISHAN-302 is among the first phase III studies of an antibody-drug conjugate to demonstrate statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements in overall survival, progression-free survival and objective response rate compared with topotecan in relapsed small-cell lung cancer," said Professor Li Zhang of Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, Guangzhou, China. "Together with a generally favorable and manageable safety profile, these results support Tam-Peli as a potential new standard-of-care option for second-line SCLC and may reshape the treatment landscape for this challenging disease."

Phase III ARTEMIS-008 Trial Shows Risvutatug Rezetecan Significantly Improves Overall Survival in Relapsed Small-Cell Lung Cancer

B7-H3-directed antibody-drug conjugate reduced the risk of death by 54% compared with topotecan

and improved progression-free survival and response rates

SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Results from the randomized Phase III ARTEMIS-008 trial show that risvutatug rezetecan (Ris-Rez), a B7-H3-directed antibody-drug conjugate, significantly improved overall survival compared with topotecan in patients with relapsed small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) whose disease progressed on or after platinum-based chemotherapy. The findings were presented today at the IASLC 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC).

ARTEMIS-008 (NCT06498479) is a multicenter, open-label, randomized Phase III study. A total of 461 patients in China were randomized 1:1 to receive Ris-Rez 8.0 mg/kg every three weeks or topotecan 1.2 mg/m² on days 1 through 5 every three weeks. More than 80% of patients had previously received PD-(L)1 inhibitors. The primary endpoint was overall survival, with progression-free survival, objective response rate, disease control rate and safety among the key secondary endpoints.

At the June 6, 2026 data cutoff, after a median follow-up of 12.2 months, median overall survival was 18.5 months with Ris-Rez compared with 10.3 months with topotecan. Ris-Rez reduced the risk of death by 54% (HR 0.46; 95% CI, 0.35–0.62; P0.0001), with consistent overall survival benefits across relevant subgroups.

Blinded independent central review also favored Ris-Rez across key secondary efficacy measures. Median progression-free survival was 7.2 months with Ris-Rez versus 3.0 months with topotecan (HR 0.33; 95% CI, 0.25–0.42). The objective response rate was 58.3% versus 12.6%, respectively, and the disease control rate was 90.4% versus 60.2%. Investigator-assessed outcomes were consistent with the central review findings.

Grade 3 or higher treatment-related adverse events occurred less frequently with Ris-Rez than with topotecan, at 60.9% versus 78.2%. The most common grade 3 or higher treatment-related adverse events were hematologic toxicities, including decreased neutrophil count, decreased white blood cell count, anemia, decreased lymphocyte count and decreased platelet count.

"Ris-Rez demonstrated a statistically significant and clinically meaningful overall survival benefit over topotecan in patients with SCLC that progressed after platinum-based therapy, with a favorable safety profile," said Professor Jie Wang, National Cancer Center/National Clinical Research Center for Cancer/Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Peking Union Medical College, Beijing, China.

"These results suggest the potential of Ris-Rez to define a new standard of care in relapsed SCLC."
