Thunes Launches Cross-Border Payouts Across Six New Middle East Markets

Members of Thunes' Direct Global Network gain faster, more transparent access to bank accounts, mobile wallets, and cash pickup locations across Bahrain, Lebanon, Oman, South Yemen, Syria and the UAE

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Thunes, the Smart Superhighway to move money around the world, today announced a major expansion of its Direct Global Network across the Middle East. The expansion introduces new payout services into six key markets: the Kingdom of Bahrain, Lebanon, the Sultanate of Oman, South Yemen, Syria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

This move significantly enhances Thunes' cross-border infrastructure in the region, delivering faster, highly transparent payment solutions for Members of Thunes' Direct Global Network. Members can now process payouts to millions of bank accounts, mobile wallets, and cash pickup locations in local currencies throughout the region, either through direct API integration with Thunes or by leveraging existing Swift connectivity.

The regional rollout builds on Thunes' expansion of real-time payments across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in September 2025 and targets diverse economic needs across the Middle East:

- Powering Digital Economies: In Bahrain, where the non-oil sector contributed 85% of real GDP in 2025, Thunes supports direct bank payouts aligned with the nation's National Digital Economy Strategy. In Oman, bank account payouts support the digital transformation goals of Oman Vision 2040 alongside projected GDP growth of 4% in 2026.

- Fueling Enterprise and Consumer Growth: In the UAE, a primary regional payments hub driven by the National Payment Systems Strategy (NPSS), Thunes now supports bank account payouts for both consumers and enterprises.

- Delivering Vital Remittance Lifelines: In markets relying on remittance flows for economic resilience and recovery, Thunes provides critical access points:

- - Lebanon: Supporting mobile wallet payouts in a market receiving roughly $7 billion per year in remittances.

- South Yemen: Enabling bank and cash pickup payouts where remittances represent over 38% of its total GDP, ranking among the top three most remittance-dependent nations globally.

- Syria: Introducing payouts to cash pickup locations, providing reliable financial access amid broader efforts to rebuild the local banking system.

Chloé Mayenobe, Deputy CEO at Thunes, said: "Launching new payout capabilities across the Middle East unlocks significant value for our Members and their end-users. These markets are deeply committed to digital innovation and financial inclusion. Thunes is proud to provide the infrastructure that empowers businesses and individuals to participate seamlessly in international commerce and the broader global economy."

With this expansion, Thunes reinforces its position as a leading provider of global money movement. The solutions leverage Thunes' in-house SmartX Treasury System for AI-driven forecasting and real-time liquidity management, and its Fortress Compliance Platform, which benefits from over 50 licences worldwide, ensuring that every payment is executed with the highest levels of security, compliance and operational efficiency.

Intuitive announces expanded indication for da Vinci SP in Europe

CE mark for transvaginal gynecologic procedures expands SP's applications

AUBONNE, Switzerland, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Intuitive, a global technology leader in minimally invasive care and the pioneer of robotic-assisted surgery, today announced CE mark approval for the indication of transvaginal gynecologic procedures for the da Vinci SP (Single Port) surgical system – marking a world's-first indication for the SP system.

This approval expands da Vinci SP's CE-marked applications in Europe, which currently include endoscopic abdominopelvic, thoracoscopic, transoral otolaryngology, transanal colorectal, and breast surgical procedures.

"Building on the strong adoption of da Vinci SP in women's health, this approval is a meaningful step forward, not just as a regulatory milestone, but because it expands access to less invasive options for women across Europe and opens the door to potentially better recovery experiences and outcomes," said Dirk Barten, Intuitive commercial president for Europe.

The da Vinci SP system enables surgeons to perform procedures through a single incision or natural orifice, offering enhanced visualization and precision in narrow or deep anatomical spaces. Through a single-entry point, surgeons can control up to three multi-jointed instruments and a fully articulating 3DHD endoscope, enabling access to complex anatomy with minimal disruption to surrounding tissue.

"Transvaginal procedures expand the natural orifice surgery portfolio of the da Vinci SP System, which to this day includes successful transoral and transanal procedures," said Tilman Schlick, vice president, medical affairs & medical officer at Intuitive in Europe. "These less invasive, scarless surgery approaches have the potential to shorten recovery times and enhance patients' experience as they return to their daily lives. As we continue to innovate across our platforms, we remain focused on helping more patients access the benefits of minimally invasive care."

A growing body of evidence, including more than 1,000 peer-reviewed publications, supports the safety, efficacy, and patient outcomes associated with the da Vinci SP system. Da Vinci SP is also approved for use in the US, Japan, and Korea for a range of procedures spanning multiple surgical disciplines.

Antengene Publishes Preclinical Research Paper on CD73 Small Molecule Inhibitor ATG-037 Combined with Selinexor in Cancer Gene Therapy

SHANGHAI and HONG KONG, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Antengene Corporation Limited ("Antengene", SEHK: 6996.HK) , a leading innovative, commercial-stage global biotech company dedicated to discovering, developing and commercializing first-in-class and/or best-in-class medicines for autoimmune diseases, solid tumors and hematological malignancies indications, today announced that a preclinical research paper evaluating the combination of ATG-037 (CD73 Small Molecule Inhibitor) and selinexor for the treatment of multiple myeloma (MM), conducted in collaboration with the Department of Hematology at Peking University Third Hospital, has been published in Cancer Gene Therapy, an international SCI journal under Springer Nature.

Details of the Paper

Title: CD73 inhibitor enhances the antitumor activity of selinexor in multiple myeloma by restoring the activation of CD8+ T cells

Journal: Cancer Gene Therapy

DOI: 10.1038/s41417-026-01078-9

Study Design:

The research team first analyzed CD73 expression across multiple tumor cell lines following selinexor treatment, then tested the combination in vivo using a J558-inoculated BALB/c mouse model, with mice divided into a vehicle group, an ATG-037 monotherapy group, a selinexor monotherapy group and a combination-therapy group. Single-cell RNA sequencing was used to characterize immune cell subtypes and tumor-immune crosstalk, immunofluorescence staining was performed on tumor tissue, and a co-culture model of CD8+ T cells and multiple myeloma cell lines was established to confirm the mechanism behind the combination's antitumor effect.

Key Findings:

Selinexor treatment was found to upregulate CD73 expression in the majority of tumors, a resistance-associated mechanism that the combination approach was designed to counter. In the mouse model, the combination therapy suppressed tumor growth with an inhibition rate of 62%, compared with 31% for ATG-037 monotherapy and 43% for selinexor monotherapy. Single-cell RNA sequencing showed that the combination synergistically potentiated CD8+ T cell activation by enhancing the interaction between CD8+ T cells and Enpp1+ cells via the CD80–CD28 signaling pathway, and the resulting increase in CD8+ T cell infiltration into tumor tissue was confirmed by immunofluorescence staining. In co-culture experiments, CD73 inhibition was shown to strengthen selinexor-mediated tumor cell killing by activating CD8+ T cells, with significantly elevated levels of Granzyme B (P=0.0252) and IFN-γ (P=0.0067) observed in the combination group.

Conclusion:

The study highlights the synergistic potential of combining selinexor with a CD73 inhibitor for enhancing CD8+ T cell-mediated tumor cytotoxicity in MM. Selinexor therapy upregulates CD73 in the TME, driving adenosine accumulation and an immunosuppressive state. Combined use of ATG-037 blocks this immunosuppressive feedback loop via suppression of CD73-dependent adenosine synthesis, restoring CD8+ T cell activation and proliferation while enhancing T cell cytotoxicity through activation of the CD80-CD28 costimulatory axis. These findings establish a novel, clinically feasible therapeutic paradigm for addressing drug resistance and refractory MM.

The first official certification for MCP validates builders' understanding of MCP architecture, security, and implementation as adoption of the protocol grows

- The Model Context Protocol Associate (MCPA) is a new foundational, vendor-neutral certification validating engineering and platform builders' understanding of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) concepts, architecture, and implementation considerations.

- The exam covers five domains: MCP Fundamentals, Architecture & Components, Interactions & Execution, Security & Governance, and Use Cases & Ecosystem.

- The MCPA is the first official certification validating MCP knowledge, and the first certification launched by the Agentic AI Foundation.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF), the neutral home where the agentic stack is being built, announced the Model Context Protocol Associate (MCPA) – a new vendor-neutral credential aligned with emerging AI engineering, platform engineering, and AI governance roles, as the community convenes in Amsterdam for AGNTCon + MCPCon Europe this week.

Connecting AI models to the tools and services they need has become a critical part of building agentic systems, and MCP has become the standard for enabling those connections. MCP's usage has grown at an astonishing rate. Across MCP's Tier 1 SDKs, monthly downloads are approaching half a billion, with both the TypeScript and Python SDKs surpassing 1 billion downloads total. Usage in production is climbing just as fast. MCP tool calls from ChatGPT users reached 98 times their January level by August, and Resend passed one million MCP calls in a single month. That scale is exactly why a common way to validate MCP expertise is needed. The MCPA provides engineers, platform teams, and AI governance professionals a way to demonstrate their understanding of how the protocol works, how its components interact, and how to apply it responsibly.

"We built MCP so developers could rely on one open protocol instead of writing custom integrations for every system. Since then, it has grown exponentially. Giving developers the option to earn a certification in MCP will formalize a shared understanding of how the protocol works, while ensuring this expanding ecosystem continues to operate smoothly," said David Soria Parra, co-creator and lead maintainer of MCP.

The MCPA is a 120-minute, online, proctored, multiple-choice exam covering five domains: MCP Fundamentals (16%), Architecture & Components (14%), Interactions & Execution (26%), Security & Governance (24%), and Use Cases & Ecosystem (20%). Candidates are tested on MCP hosts, clients, servers, and tools; message flow and protocol primitives; trust boundaries, permissions, and risk controls; and how MCP is applied across real-world agentic deployments. The certification is aligned with the latest MCP specification release, 2026-07-28, and is recommended for candidates who understand the internals of the MCP and are comfortable reasoning about how the protocol works and how its components communicate.

"MCP has quickly become the standard for connecting AI agents to external systems. As organizations increasingly adopt agentic AI, they need developers who understand how those connections work and how to implement them responsibly, including the permissions and trust boundaries involved. With the MCPA, developers can demonstrate that knowledge through an official certification, giving employers a shared benchmark for assessing the skills required for modern software development," said Angie Jones, Vice President of Developer Experience, Agentic AI Foundation.

Now Available

The MCPA is live and open for enrollment. Individuals attending AGNTCon + MCPCon Europe in Amsterdam this week can enroll now at a 20% discount, and the same discount is available to those registering for AGNTCon + MCPCon North America, taking place October 22–23, 2026 in San Jose, California.

More information about the MCPA, including exam domains, prerequisites, and candidate resources, is available at training.linuxfoundation.org/certification/model-context-protocol-associate-mcpa.

Under the arrangement, SLI will purchase the satellites from Sophia and lease them to the end-users on the basis of fixed monthly or quarterly payments.

Once deployed, the constellation would deliver aggregate computing capacity equivalent to 240 state-of-the-art edge servers, while allowing Sophia to preserve equity capital for technology development and operations.

The collaboration also reflects a long-term commitment between the two companies to develop the financing structures and deployment playbook that orbital compute infrastructure will require to move from the laboratory to low Earth orbit.

"Asset financing didn't invent aviation or shipping, but it accelerated them at scale," said Rob DeMillo, CEO and Cofounder of Sophia Space. "We're doing the same for orbital computing. This approach with SLI signals that Sophia Space's space infrastructure is mature enough to attract the capital structures that have historically built terrestrial infrastructure."

The financing structure, outlined in a non-binding letter of support, aligns SLI's financing with Sophia's build and deployment schedule, supporting the purchase and deployment of 10 Sophia TILE spacecraft through a long-term operating lease. Mission launches are scheduled for as early as 2028.

The constellation is designed to deliver in-orbit edge data services for applications including Earth observation, weather analytics, supply-chain management, and disaster preparedness, while also addressing growing demand for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) and other mission-critical security applications.

"Lowering barriers to entry unlocks markets," explained Praveen Vetrivel, Chief Executive Officer at SLI. "Sophia has the technology, the team, and the vision. What had been missing was access to scalable, non-dilutive capital. This framework provides it, giving them the capacity and flexibility they need to build the next layer of digital infrastructure."

The long-term lease is designed to span the satellites' expected useful lives, matching capital deployment with the revenue-generating life of the assets. The approach provides Sophia with a predictable financing structure for scaling its orbital infrastructure without relying exclusively on equity capital.

SLI is the aerospace subsidiary of Libra Group, which brings more than $15 billion in asset financing experience in the transportation industries to the space economy.

Whitehawk Therapeutics Presents Real-World Analyses Supporting PTK7 as a Durable ADC Target in EGFR Wild-Type Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer at WCLC 2026

PTK7 Expression Remained Stable Following Standard-of-Care Therapies, Supporting Its Relevance as

a Target in Second- or Later-Line EGFR NSCLC

Findings Reinforce the Scientific Rationale for HWK-007, Whitehawk's Next-Generation PTK7-Directed

ADC Currently in Phase 1 Development

MORRISTOWN, N.J., Sept. 13, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Whitehawk Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: WHWK), a clinical-stage oncology therapeutics company applying advanced technologies to established tumor biology to efficiently develop improved antibody drug conjugate (ADC) cancer treatments, today announced the presentation of two real-world analyses supporting protein tyrosine kinase 7 (PTK7) as a durable and clinically relevant ADC target in patients with pretreated, EGFR wild-type non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The data will be presented at the IASLC 2026 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) hosted by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, taking place September 12-15, 2026, in Seoul, Republic of Korea.

In tumor samples from patients with EGFR wild-type lung adenocarcinoma, PTK7 expression remained largely stable following standard-of-care (SoC) treatments, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, and demonstrated less treatment associated variation than several other ADC targets in late-stage development. PTK7 expression was also generally consistent regardless of the presence or absence of other actionable genomic alterations (AGA). These findings indicate PTK7 remains available for targeted ADCs for patients that have progressed through multiple lines of SoC therapy and across clinically relevant subgroups.

A separate analysis of patients with advanced EGFR wild-type lung adenocarcinoma found that real-world overall survival was not impacted based on PTK7-expression, supporting PTK7 as a target-engagement biomarker for ADC payload delivery independent of prognosis in NSCLC.

"The development strategy for our PTK7-directed ADC, HWK-007, is grounded in understanding not only where PTK7 is expressed, but also how that expression behaves in a real-world treatment setting," said Margaret Dugan, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Whitehawk Therapeutics. "The stability of PTK7 expression after standard of care therapies, in particular compared to other therapies in late-stage development, add important translational context as we evaluate HWK-007 in patients with EGFR wild-type NSCLC."

Key Findings:

Durable and Treatment-Agnostic PTK7 Expression in EGFR Wild-Type Lung Adenocarcinoma Supports Targeted ADC Development

- PTK7 expression remained largely stable following standard-of-care immunotherapy, chemotherapy, chemoimmunotherapy and tyrosine kinase inhibitor treatment, suggesting that the target may remain available for PTK7-directed therapy after prior treatment.

- Stable PTK7 expression is also observed in paired tumor samples.

- PTK7 demonstrated less treatment-associated variation than several late-stage ADC targets, including MET, PD-L1 and ITGB6.

- PTK7 expression was generally consistent across tumors with or without other AGA, including KRAS G12C, ALK and MET alterations, suggesting relevance of PTK7 as an ADC target across both AGA+ and AGA- NSCLC subgroups.

Association Between PTK7 Expression and Real-World Survival in Pretreated Patients With EGFR Wild-Type Lung Adenocarcinoma

- PTK7 expression was not independently associated with real-world overall survival or progression-free survival in patients with advanced EGFR wild-type lung adenocarcinoma receiving second- or later-line therapy, supporting PTK7 as a target-engagement biomarker rather than a marker of prognosis.

- Clinical outcomes were driven primarily by established prognostic factors, including Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status and extent of prior therapy.

- PTK7-low tumors were enriched for KEAP1 and STK11 alterations, suggesting biological heterogeneity of EGFR wild-type NSCLC.

"Understanding whether a therapeutic target remains present after prior treatment is particularly important in advanced lung cancer, where patients often receive multiple lines of therapy," said Aaron E. Lisberg, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. "The stability of PTK7 expression across standard treatments and clinically relevant molecular subgroups supports further investigation of PTK7-directed ADCs in patients with previously treated EGFR wild-type lung adenocarcinoma."
