Montney outage and royalties trim fourth-quarter oil outlook
Ovintiv maintained full-year 2026 guidance apart from a modest increase to expected NGL volumes. Guidance assumes an ongoing third-party midstream outage in the Montney lasts through the entire fourth quarter. The company reported about 6% oil and condensate production per share growth over the last six months. It is on pace for 8% to 9% by year-end.
Montney output averaged 395 MBOE/d (27% liquids) with 28 net wells turned in line. Full-year capital there is projected at $825 million to $875 million, with about 6 rigs and 120 to 130 net wells. Fourth-quarter oil and condensate is guided to 75 to 80 Mbbls/d, lower because of higher-than-expected royalty rates tied to higher commodity prices and the extended outage. Gas is guided to 1.7 to 1.8 Bcf/d.
Permian output averaged 235 MBOE/d (77% liquids) with 31 net wells turned in line. Full-year capital is projected at $1.375 billion to $1.425 billion, with about 5 rigs and 130 to 140 net wells. Fourth-quarter oil and condensate is guided to 125 to 130 Mbbls/d and gas to 300 to 320 MMcf/d.
