JOHANNESBURG – November 02, 2026 -- EASE Holdings BV has secured US$9.5 million in additional equity from AAFC Group Inc, lifting its total equity to US$24 million. The medical equipment-as-a-service provider will use the funds to scale operations in South Africa and Ghana.
AAFC Group is a U.S.-based investor in emerging-market asset-backed finance. EASE will combine the new equity with its debt facilities to grow its installed base of advanced, increasingly AI-enhanced medical devices.
EASE targets at least US$20 million of South African installations in 2027
After select initial deployments, EASE expects to place at least US$20 million of new equipment in South Africa next year. It will work with the country's largest banks and leading equipment manufacturers. EASE South Africa plans to expand its board and has appointed Wynand du Plessis of Mindcor-InterSearch to recruit a managing director.
Deployments to date include surgical robots in KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga, a PET-CT scanner in Rustenburg, an MRI scanner in Akwatia, Ghana, and CT scanners in Accra. EASE is also assessing India, Morocco and Malaysia.
Pay-per-use contracts shift medical equipment from capital to operating expense
EASE's pay-per-use and managed-equipment-service models cover maintenance, support and upgrades. Providers can treat the cost as an operating expense. Target categories include MRI, CT and PET-CT scanners, surgical robots and radiotherapy systems.
AAFC Group CEO Frans van Schaik said the equity-to-debt ratios banks require make advanced equipment "very expensive to own", and that AI-enabled technology makes the challenge more acute.
EASE CEO Dr Kanyinsola Oyeyinka said the capital lets the company bring more high-value equipment to customers so they can keep pace with AI and other technology advances. EASE is headquartered in the Netherlands.
