San Francisco – October 19, 2026 -- fal has launched FLUX 3 Max, a video generation model that produces a 10-second clip in 10.95 seconds, more than 22 times faster than Seedance 2.5 at the same reported image-to-video Elo rating of 1,139.
The model was post-trained by fal Research in collaboration with Black Forest Labs. It builds on the FLUX 3 foundation model through post-training, reinforcement learning and inference optimization.
FLUX 3 Max cuts generation latency from 126.44 to 10.95 seconds
Against the original FLUX 3, the new model is 11.5 times faster. Image-to-video quality rises by 50 Elo points, from 1,089 to 1,139.
Seedance 2.5 needs 277.80 seconds to generate the same 10-second video, according to fal's latency benchmarks.
Artificial Analysis Video Arena places the model among top image-to-video systems
In preliminary independent human preference evaluations, FLUX 3 Max drew 4,868 votes on Artificial Analysis Video Arena. Confidence intervals overlap with those of the highest-ranked models, which puts it in the top quality tier. The results are preliminary, and the latency figures come from fal's own benchmarks.
fal Research extends the H3 Max approach to a Black Forest Labs model
FLUX 3 Max builds on the research behind H3 Max, fal's earlier video model, which produced video in 3.49 seconds in fal's benchmark. FLUX 3 Max applies the same method to a different foundation model.
fal Research says it worked to improve visual fidelity, motion coherence and prompt adherence. Kaan Oktay, Head of Research at fal, said the team is continuing to post-train the model, and that this launch is the first iteration.
Robin Rombach, co-founder and CEO of Black Forest Labs, said FLUX 3 was built as a foundation for others to customize, and that fal adapted it for developers and enterprises on its platform.
Platform access opens October 19 with a 75% launch discount
FLUX 3 Max is available from October 19, 2026, through fal's inference platform. A single API covers text-to-video, image-to-video and keyframes-to-video generation. Pricing is 75% lower for the first three weeks.
