Funding strengthens Subeca's position as a leading provider of affordable smart water infrastructure and accelerates utility adoption across North America

CARY, N.C., Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Subeca today announced approximately $3M in additional funding to further deliver hardware and software solutions for utility metering and net-zero sustainability metering. The Series A-2 was led by Burnt Island Ventures, the most active venture investor in the global water industry, with participation from Cycle H2O, a leading water technology venture fund, and SUEZ, a global water technology company, and several additional investors.

"Plenty of companies talk about disrupting the water industry. We're actually doing it, and we're doing it for the utilities and operators where legacy solutions have proven too complex and too costly. This funding fuels our rapid growth and our commitment to bringing real-time meter data to small and medium-sized utilities and hyperscalers, because every water provider deserves the tools to serve its customers and meet its sustainability goals," said Anne Mushow, Chief Executive Officer of Subeca.

"We see the billion dollar opportunity around an unmet need for affordable smart meter infrastructure and AI-native software. Subeca is now live across 23 communities offering its bundled smart meter plus software package. We are so impressed with Anne and her team as they continue to impress as they deliver on their vision of smart water meters for all," said Christine Boyle, General Partner at Burnt Island Ventures.

Subeca's differentiated offering provides simple, easy-to-deploy options for the more than 51,000 utilities and businesses in the US that have been locked out of the benefits of advanced metering technology due to the cost and complexity of legacy technology solutions. Produced in Cary, North Carolina, Subeca's communication module utilizes Amazon's Sidewalk network, a free communications network that covers more than 90% of the US population as well as parts of Canada and Mexico, to help customers proactively manage water infrastructure and detect and resolve water leaks early.

The investment further strengthens Subeca's existing ecosystem of strategic water industry partners. Since its Series A financing, the company has built relationships with leading organizations across water technology, digital infrastructure, and utility operations, creating a strong foundation for future growth.

In addition to providing growth capital, new investor Cycle H2O brings a uniquely strategic combination of investment expertise, industry relationships, and commercial networks focused exclusively on the water sector. Through its close partnership with H2O Innovation, one of North America's leading water solutions providers, Cycle H2O offers Subeca access to a broad network of municipal and industrial water customers, technical expertise, and market development opportunities.

"We are proud to support Subeca, whose platform addresses one of the most important challenges facing the water sector: making digital water management solutions accessible and affordable for utilities of all sizes. Through Cycle H2O, under Simon Olivier's leadership, we are pleased to join as a new investor in Subeca's practical, scalable innovation. Their technology, which helps utilities detect leaks, conserve water and cut operating costs, aligns perfectly with our thesis of backing technologies that accelerate the sustainable transformation of essential industries," said Andrée-Lise Méthot, Founder and Managing Partner of Cycle Capital.

Subeca's 2024 Series A raised $6M led by SUEZ, with additional investment by Burnt Island Ventures and Amazon's Climate Pledge Fund, Amazon's sustainability-focused corporate venture fund.

GROHE Announces Winner of 2026 GROHE Water Prize at the World Architecture Festival

The award-winning, "Terracotta Fog Water Harvester" addresses an innovative terracotta facade tile system to harvest atmospheric fog.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- GROHE, a global leader in bathroom solutions and kitchen fittings, has announced the winner of the 2026 GROHE Water Prize for the World Architecture Festival (WAF), slated to be held this year from November 18–20 in Fort Lauderdale.

A Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture team, spearheaded by Associate Professor and Lead Researcher, Laura Garófalo, has been awarded the £10,000 prize for "Bio-inspired Architectural Terracotta for Sustainable Water Harvesting," an initiative designed to advance community water self-sufficiency in arid, fog-prone regions. Combining ancient ceramic craftsmanship with digital fabrication and surface physics, the project uses modular terracotta tiles for fog water-harvesting. Drawing design inspiration from leaf venation and the Namib Desert beetle, the tiles pair hydrophilic (water-attracting) clay peaks with hydrophobic (water-repelling) glazed channels to capture fog up to 400% more efficiently than standard flat surfaces.

As a rigid, mineral-based alternative to traditional synthetic plastic netting, the terracotta concept eliminates microplastic pollution while offering a significantly smaller carbon footprint. Designed for future integration into building facades and rainscreen systems, the research shows how exterior walls could one day act as durable, decentralized freshwater collection systems that strengthen local health and climate resilience.

Of the winning project, Patrick Speck, Leader, LIXIL Global Design, Europe & Americas and a jury member of the GROHE Water Prize, remarked: "At GROHE, we believe the future of water stewardship requires rethinking how our built environment interacts with natural resources. By transforming a building facade into an active water-harvesting asset, this project embodies GROHE's design ethos, in which biomimicry, material craft, and human-centered purpose converge to reshape how society experiences water."

"Receiving the Grohe Water Prize is an honor critical to advancing the development of our bio-inspired architectural terracotta system," said Laura Garófolo, Associate Professor at Carnegie Mellon University. "It will make it possible to move through material experimentation toward a scalable architectural application for sustainable water harvesting. We are deeply grateful to GROHE for recognizing the potential of design and architecture to address the growing challenges surrounding water."

Paul Finch, Programme Director, World Architecture Festival, and fellow jury member, added, "As ever, reviewing this year's entries was a pleasure, and we congratulate GROHE for continuing to support this research prize. This year's standout winner offers a brilliant approach to harvesting atmospheric fog - research with clear potential to benefit numerous regions around the world. It is particularly fitting that such an idea should emerge as WAF explores the theme of 'Water' at this year's festival in Fort Lauderdale. We look forward to the project presentation on Thursday, 19 November on the Festival Hall Stage."

With over 50 entries for this year's prize, each submission examined the evolving relationship between water, architecture, and community through innovative, future-focused design. The shortlisted projects demonstrated a remarkable breadth of ideas. Among this year's standout finalists were:

Projecto Vito Volcanic Catchment: An off-grid marine conservation headquarters on Fogo Island featuring vaulted brick roofscapes that serve as the primary rainwater and fog-harvesting system in a region without surface freshwater. Project submitted by Studio Ma (Applicant) with Associação Projecto Vitó — NGO co-applicant (Lead researcher: Christiana Moss, FAIA)

Glasgow Bath Commons: An adaptive reuse project transforming an abandoned railway viaduct and church into a civic water commons that integrates rainwater harvesting, heat recovery, and public bathing culture. Project submitted by Lap Shing Sy.

Lo—TEK Water: A Field Guide for TEKnology: Applied research supporting the Miccosukee–ReefLine Biocultural Stewardship Corridor of Miami Beach, integrating underwater public reef infrastructure with Indigenous co-governance frameworks. Project submitted by Julia Watson

Since 2017, the GROHE Water Prize has supported innovative projects addressing global water challenges, underscoring the transformative potential of water-conscious design for the built environment. While also reflecting the values at the heart of GROHE: combining sustainable innovation, exceptional design, advanced technology, and enduring quality to elevate everyday experiences and help protect one of our planet's most precious resources.

XGIMI HORIZON 30 Series Brings Smoother, Sharper Entertainment to Life with 4K 120Hz

New HORIZON 30 Series projectors deliver bright images, deep contrast and smooth 4K 120Hz performance with flexible setup for movies, sports, gaming and more.

CHENGDU, China, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Following its first preview at IFA 2026, XGIMI, a global leader in premium smart projection and home entertainment, today announced the HORIZON 30 Series, the new generation of high-performance home projectors designed to make big-screen entertainment work for more of what people watch – and more of the rooms they watch it in.

Available in three models – HORIZON 30 Pro, HORIZON 30 Max and HORIZON 30 Ultra Max – the new series combines RGB Triple Laser technology with up to 6,000 ISO lumens of brightness, native contrast up to 10,000:1, and 4K 120Hz performance.

Compared to the HORIZON 20 Series, the new collection delivers seven times the native contrast, and twice the refresh rate – helping pictures stay brighter in rooms with ambient light, revealing greater depth in dark scenes, and making fast-moving content look smoother.

Picture Perfect, Day or Night

Great entertainment shouldn't wait until the lights go down. The HORIZON 30 Series is designed to adapt as the room, content, and occasion change.

Powered by an RGB Triple Laser light source, the series reaches up to 6,000 ISO lumens, helping maintain a bright, vibrant picture for afternoon sports, weekend gaming, or everyday TV. When the room gets darker, native contrast of up to 10,000:1 brings greater depth and detail to shadows, giving movies and cinematic content a richer sense of dimension.

A Dual Intelligent Iris System automatically adjusts light as scenes change, bringing out more detail in both bright highlights and deep shadows. XGIMI's 19-element optical system is engineered for edge-to-edge clarity, while Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and IMAX Enhanced help deliver richer color, contrast and detail across movies, shows, and more.

The result is a projector that transitions naturally from daytime entertainment to nighttime viewing.

Every Frame, in Full Flow

While high refresh rates are often associated with gaming, the HORIZON 30 Series puts 4K 120Hz to work across everyday entertainment. The higher refresh rate keeps motion fluid and easy to follow, from tracking the ball during live sports and following fast-paced action in films to gaming with less delay between the controller and screen.

It also gives movies special treatment. The HORIZON 30 Series can display cinema's native 24fps content evenly at 120Hz, helping films retain smooth, natural motion. When it's time to game, low latency and support for VRR, ALLM and AMD FreeSync help make the same screen ready for faster, more responsive play.

Users don't have to choose between a projector made for movies, sports, or gaming – the HORIZON 30 Series is built around all three.

A Big Screen, On Your Terms

The HORIZON 30 Series brings the big-screen experience home without the need for a dedicated theater space, with a flexible design made to work around the room that's already there. Its integrated stand can tilt and rotate, while optical zoom and lens shift provide more freedom to position the picture without requiring the projector to sit directly in front of the screen. Lens Memory can even save up to five custom setups, making it easier to move between everyday TV and ultra-wide movies.

Once in place, XGIMI's Intelligent Screen Adaptation technology takes care of much of the setup automatically, adjusting the picture to fit the screen and its surroundings with minimal effort from the user.

Built-in Google TV puts movies, shows, and streaming apps in one place, while dual 12W Harman Kardon speakers with DTS Virtual:X create a more immersive, surround-like sound experience without the need for additional speakers, bringing the big screen, streaming, and audio together in one streamlined setup.

As Staffing Industry Growth Returns, Encore Funding Unveils Refreshed Brand Focused on Helping Entrepreneurs Build Stronger Businesses
Image File

New website and educational resources bring three generations of staffing experience to the forefront as agency owners navigate changing financial and operational demands.

CLEVELAND, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As the staffing industry shows signs of renewed growth, agency owners face an increasingly complex challenge: securing the capital, operational support, and expertise needed to turn new business opportunities into sustainable growth.

Encore Funding, a family-owned funding partner serving staffing entrepreneurs, today announced the launch of its refreshed brand and website, reflecting the company's continued evolution alongside the businesses it supports.

The announcement comes as the American Staffing Association reports that U.S. staffing industry revenue increased 3.3% year over year in the second quarter of 2026, with staffing employment also recording gains. While these figures signal improving industry activity, staffing entrepreneurs must continue to balance growth opportunities against payroll obligations, client payment cycles, and the operational demands of running their businesses.

For staffing firms, growth often creates a unique financial challenge. Employees must be paid weekly or biweekly, while customers may take 30, 60, or even 90 days to settle invoices. As agencies expand their client relationships and workforce, access to working capital becomes an important part of their ability to deliver.

Encore believes the relationship between staffing entrepreneurs and their funding partners must extend beyond financing alone.

"The staffing industry has changed significantly over the years, but one thing hasn't changed. Entrepreneurs need a partner who understands what it takes to build and grow a staffing business," said Chad Eberly, General Manager at Encore Funding. "We've spent three generations working alongside staffing owners, helping them navigate challenges, take advantage of opportunities, and build stronger businesses. This next chapter is about bringing that experience forward and making sure we're continuing to evolve alongside the entrepreneurs we serve."

More than funding: Supporting the business behind the business

Encore's refreshed positioning reflects an approach built around three principles: personal relationships, removing operational complexity, and applying decades of staffing industry experience to help entrepreneurs navigate what comes next.

Through its combination of payroll funding, back office support, and strategic guidance, Encore works as an extension of its clients' businesses, allowing agency owners to spend more time building client relationships, placing talent, and pursuing growth opportunities.

The company's new website brings that approach together through clearer messaging, improved access to information, and a greater emphasis on helping staffing entrepreneurs understand the financial and operational decisions involved in running their agencies.

"When a staffing owner lands a major new client, that's an exciting moment. But it also brings questions about payroll, cash flow, compliance, and whether the business has the infrastructure to support that growth," said Dane Adelman, VP Business Development at Encore Funding. "Our job is to help take those challenges off their plate. We want entrepreneurs to know they have real people they can call, people who understand their business and are invested in helping them succeed."

Bringing three generations of knowledge to the next generation of staffing entrepreneurs

A central part of Encore's brand evolution is making its industry expertise more accessible to both established agency owners and entrepreneurs entering the staffing market.

Through Encore U and its educational masterclass series, the company is placing greater emphasis on providing practical guidance around the questions staffing founders face, from understanding payroll funding and managing cash flow to building the operational foundation needed for long-term growth.

The educational initiative reinforces Encore's belief that helping staffing entrepreneurs succeed means providing knowledge and support, not simply financing their invoices.

"We've seen firsthand what it takes to start a staffing company, what can go wrong, and what separates businesses that grow sustainably from those that struggle," added Chad. "We want to share that knowledge more openly. If we can help an entrepreneur make a better decision, avoid a common mistake, or feel more confident about their next stage of growth, we're doing what we've always believed a good partner should do."

As technology, workforce expectations, and business models continue to evolve, Encore's refreshed brand represents a commitment to adapting while maintaining the personal relationships and staffing expertise that have defined the company across three generations.

"The new brand and website are an important step, but this is about much more than a new look," added Dane. "It's about making it easier for staffing entrepreneurs to understand who we are, what we can help them accomplish, and why having the right partner matters as their business evolves."

Scientific Games Earns 2026 Communitas Award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility

Company's Unique Wooden Shipping Pallet Recycling Project in Germany Partners with Social Service Organization Serving Disabled Community

ATLANTA, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Scientific Games was recognized with a 2026 Communitas Award for Excellence in Corporate Responsibility. The global lottery company earned the international award in the category of Ethical and Environmental Responsibility: Green Initiatives for a unique wooden shipping pallet recycling project. The initiative partnered with the v. Bodelschwingh Foundations Bethel, one of Germany's largest social service organizations, to give wooden shipping pallets a second life while creating meaningful work opportunities for people with disabilities.

"We are honored to be recognized with a Communitas Award for this project, which is a great example of our global efforts to invest in locally led initiatives that create measurable environmental and social impact, strengthen communities and deliver lasting value," said Andrew Jackson, VP, Corporate Responsibility for Scientific Games.

The partnership began with Scientific Games donating hundreds of wooden pallets used to ship lottery scratchcards to German lotteries. Eliminating waste to landfill, the untreated wood was transformed into birdhouses and toys handcrafted by members of the disabled community at Bethel's Kracks Workshop. The new wooden items were sold in Bethel's retail shop, generating revenue to support the organization's programs, workshop operations, and future initiatives benefiting people with disabilities.

"Our team initiated an innovative opportunity to put a valuable material back to work in the community," said Dunja Vukotic-Finkler, Director, Instant Tickets & Service Operations, Scientific Games. "Through our partnership with Bethel, these pallets are becoming products that support skills development and employment for people with disabilities. We are proud to see an initiative rooted in our everyday operations recognized for environmental and social benefits."

The ongoing partnership reduces landfill waste while extending the useful life of natural materials. Regular material contributions are helping Bethel expand its woodworking capabilities and prepare for larger, more complex projects.

Jürgen Hoff, head of Bethel's Kracks Workshop, noted that donations of quality wood are especially valuable during economically challenging times when charitable contributions are declining. The donated materials allow participants to make products that fund additional programs and help people build skills through meaningful work.

The 2026 recognition follows two Communitas Awards Scientific Games received in 2025 for the SG Tech Project, which donates refurbished technology to local schools, and its volunteer participation in a STEAM career mentoring program for young women.

With a company mission focused on serving communities worldwide, Scientific Games helps government-regulated lotteries generate tens of billions of dollars annually to fund their good cause programs, including health and welfare, education and environmental initiatives. The Communitas Awards are inspired by the vision for a better world through volunteerism, investment and ethical, sustainable business practices.

Scientific Games provides retail and digital games, technology, analytics and services to 150 lotteries in 50 countries around the globe, including 16 lotteries in Germany. The company is the world's largest creator, producer and manager of lottery games and a global leader in lottery and sports betting technology systems, digital lottery games, mobile apps and player loyalty programs.

Strength across operational risk analytics supports banks and financial services firms

CARY, N.C., Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Chartis Research has named SAS a Category Leader for Operational Risk Analytics in its report on integrated governance, resilience and compliance (iGRC) solutions.

The report cited the combined capabilities of SAS® Governance and Compliance Manager (GCM) and the SAS Viya® platform and SAS' best-in-class, analytically consistent and governed coverage across multiple risk domains.

This recognition comes as iGRC transcends traditional compliance and reporting to serve a more strategic role in business decision-making. As operational, regulatory, cybersecurity and technology risks become increasingly interconnected, financial institutions need integrated risk intelligence that allows them to act quickly and decisively without sacrificing oversight and control.

"SAS Governance and Compliance Manager treats operational risk as a data and analytics challenge, not simply a workflow, documentation or reporting exercise," said Michael Versace, Research Director at Chartis. "This gives risk leaders the context needed to identify emerging exposure, understand control effectiveness and direct action toward the areas of greatest potential loss."

SAS Governance and Compliance Manager helps organizations identify, assess, monitor and manage risk while creating a unified view of risk exposure across the enterprise. Built on the cloud-native SAS Viya platform, it brings risk, control, compliance, audit and issue-management data together in a governed environment, applying AI and advanced analytics to uncover emerging threats and deliver timely, decision-ready insights.

Per Chartis, "SAS' ability to bridge the gap between operational and technical risk intelligence and executive decision-making is a distinct competitive advantage."

"Organizations often regard governance as a handbrake on innovation, but evidence indicates just the opposite," said Stu Bradley, Senior Vice President of Risk, Fraud and Compliance Solutions at SAS. "Our latest AI study shows that banks with comprehensive governance programs are 6.6x more likely to report strong AI ROI. Robust governance gives institutions the confidence to innovate faster, with a clearer, more integrated view of intersecting risks. That's the foundation SAS delivers."

From risk data to risk intelligence

In its analysis, Chartis spotlighted the strength of the SAS risk management platform in seven key areas, rating SAS' capabilities as best-in-class or leading for:

- Risk Coverage. SAS GCM works across diverse risk domains – operational, credit, market, liquidity, fraud, financial crime, model risk and more – helping organizations connect and govern risk signals that are often managed in silos.

- Mapping and Transformation. GCM maps risk data into a common risk taxonomy for more reliable analytics, faster reporting and stronger audit and regulatory defensibility.

- Data Management. A foundational feature of GCM, this ensures that risk, compliance and audit decisions are as reliable as the underlying data. GCM leverages the data management capabilities of the Viya platform.

- Analytics Tools. SAS turns fragmented risk, control, incident and audit data into intelligence for continuous operational risk monitoring, earlier intervention and more informed decisions.

- Workflows. SAS integrates operational risk analytics, risk indicators, alerting and decision logic into business workflows, helping governance, risk and compliance teams prioritize cases, incidents or remediation actions.

- Architecture. Built on SAS Viya, GCM is a cloud-native, service-oriented evolution of the SAS platform that can process high-volume event data and perform interactive analysis.

- Visualization. GCM is supported by a common repository that gives an enterprise-wide view of internal control performance for risk managers, compliance and audit staff.

Chartis' analysis of SAS and its update to the RiskTech Quadrant for Operational Risk Analytics were included in its report, Integrated Governance, Resilience and Compliance Solutions – Financial Services, 2026: Quadrant Update, published in June 2026.

Industry leadership

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Today at the Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit 2026, Cisco (Nasdaq: CSCO) introduced new silicon, systems and optical innovations that advance open AI infrastructure from rack-scale compute to distributed AI capacity. Together, the announcements demonstrate how Cisco is engineering the network as a coherent, programmable architecture while preserving the openness and choice customers expect in the super intelligence era. The new capabilities deepen Cisco's continued commitment to deliver an open stack from silicon to Kubernetes, required to connect the AI foundations for hyperscalers, neoclouds and enterprises. Strong market adoption validates Cisco's leadership and underscores deep customer trust as demand for AI compute capacity rapidly accelerates.

"AI is redefining what it means to scale infrastructure. It's no longer just about individual data centers or clusters, but how we connect compute at massive scale without compromising performance or resilience. Cisco's strength across silicon, networking, optics, systems and security puts us in a unique position to deliver the open infrastructure customers need as AI continues to evolve," said Kevin Wollenweber, SVP and General Manager of Data Center and Internet Infrastructure, Cisco.

"Scale-Across" Connects the World's AI Capacity

Scale-across extends coordinated AI workloads across facilities, building on traditional data center interconnect (DCI) technologies while introducing significantly different workload requirements. When accelerators across sites participate in the same coordinated job, congestion, latency and recovery can directly affect compute utilization and job progress. Cisco draws on its silicon, routing and optical networking leadership to address those requirements as one packet-to-optical architecture.

Cisco's scale-across architecture brings together Silicon One P200, deep-buffered systems and coherent optics to connect AI fabrics across locations to act as a unified cluster. It provides customers a single, unified compute fabric enabled by the performance, deep programmability and embedded security of the Silicon One architecture. Cisco is the first in the industry to announce its 51.2T systems, powered by the Silicon One P200, are deployed in a production environment by leading hyperscalers.

"Microsoft and Cisco share a longstanding partnership rooted in engineering collaboration and innovation. We are pleased to announce that today, Microsoft has moved into production on systems powered by the Cisco Silicon One P200. As our infrastructure demands grow, the P200's robust architecture provides the speed and enhanced buffering capabilities necessary to address the increasing scale of our cloud and high-performance services. This milestone reflects the next stage in our long-term collaboration, ensuring we continue to deliver the performance and reliability required for the modern digital era," said Anand Ramakrishna, Corporate Vice President, Engineering, Microsoft.

"Alibaba is proud to announce a major milestone for our next-generation backbone network, eCORE. We have deployed our in-house Quantum Cat router at massive scale, powered by the Cisco Silicon One P200. These routers bring 51.2 Tbps of routing capacity to our infrastructure. They feature a fully shared deep-buffer architecture, high programmability, and excellent power efficiency. This setup provides the exact performance and scale needed for today's heavy cloud and AI workloads. We paired Cisco's silicon with Alibaba's custom systems and the SONiC operating system. This combination proves the true value of open networking. It delivers the flexibility and operational power required for some of the world's most demanding networks. We look forward to deepening our work with Cisco, the Open Compute Project (OCP), and the SONiC community. Together, we will continue to advance open, high-performance networking for the AI era," said Dennis Cai, Vice President, Head of Network Infrastructure, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group

Scaling AI from Rack to Fabric for the 1.6T Era

Inside the data center, AI scale is driving the same need for greater bandwidth, density and power efficiency across silicon, systems and optics. To meet the radical bandwidth requirements of the next generation of AI, Cisco's Silicon One portfolio is delivering the next level of network performance designed for massive AI scale. As a member of OCP's ESUN, Cisco is committed to advancing open, interoperable, high-performance AI networking at scale and collaborating actively with ESUN on the 1.0 and future specifications for scale-up workloads.

Announced earlier this year, the 102.4T Silicon One G300 is now available for customer sampling, and the first G300-powered systems are currently shipping to customers. Cisco is also expanding the Silicon One portfolio with the first 51.2T switching silicon with 200G SerDes designed for top-of-rack (ToR) deployments. The new Silicon One G302 delivers 51.2T capacity and features Cisco 1.6T optics and direct-to-chip liquid cooling integration to drive efficiency gains. The G302 is built to power ToR switch systems, which sit at the rack level and gather traffic from servers and connect it efficiently to the larger data center network. This optimizes how servers are linked and integrated, delivering unprecedented front-end scale, density, and throughput for hyperscalers. The G302 is planned to begin shipping to customers before the end of 2026.

Cisco and NVIDIA Introduce New Pluggable Optics

Together with NVIDIA, Cisco also unveiled plans to develop the Ultra-Dense Small Form Factor Pluggable (USFP), a new high density 400Gb/s-per-lane capable optical module. Compared to other approaches to increasing the bandwidth of optical modules, USFP relies on a proven operating model to scale to 400Gb/s-per-lane. USFP is expected to deliver 4x the bandwidth density and 1.3x the power efficiency of 200Gb/s-per-lane optics, improving the efficiency and scalability of AI factories without sacrificing serviceability, deployment flexibility or the operational simplicity of today's pluggable optics. To drive broad industry engagement and adoption, Cisco and NVIDIA plan to create an open industry specification for USFP through an upcoming community-led multi-source project.

Expanding Secure AI Networking

SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud) is the open-source operating system that forms the foundation of many hyperscaler and now neoclouds, service providers and enterprise deployments, across the AI builder ecosystem. Cisco customers can adopt Cisco-validated SONiC with Nexus One, a next generation data center architecture, embracing an open approach for multi-site to rack-scale environments. This support will be extended with Live Protect for customers starting mid-year 2027. Utilizing Cisco runtime technology, Live Protect reduces the exposure customers would typically face between a vulnerability disclosure and a patch on supported Cisco products and releases. Live Protect will give Cisco SONiC customers time to test and deploy the permanent software fix without disrupting operations.

Control and Recovery at AI Scale

Out-of-band management systems form a network operators rely on to provide remote access even when the production network is down, allowing for fixes during a blackout or cyber incident. But at AI scale, out-of-band management systems can become a patchwork of legacy systems, tools and proprietary interfaces, making thousands of GPU nodes harder to manage and fix. The Cisco 8001, a new Silicon One A100-powered management system available as 10G or 1G , solves this challenge by upgrading performance and bringing SONiC to this critical network. Operators can use familiar APIs, automation and operating practices from the fabric to the rack, without building and maintaining a separate management environment. Customers can now deploy a simpler, programmable management network that scales with AI infrastructure, and remains available when it is needed most.

Cisco Silicon One: The Industry's Most Scalable and Programmable Unified Networking Architecture

Cisco Silicon One is the industry's most scalable and programmable unified networking architecture, offering a complete portfolio of networking devices across AI, hyperscaler, data center, enterprise, and service provider use cases. Introduced in 2019, Cisco Silicon One is playing critical roles in major networks around the world. With today's innovations, Silicon One proves its ability to scale  from 100G to 100T with a single, unified silicon architecture.

Syrenis Named a Niche Player in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Privacy UX

Enterprise consent and preference management helps marketing teams know exactly what customer data they can use, and for what purpose

ATLANTA, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Syrenis, the enterprise consent and preference management company, today announced it has been named a Niche Player in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Privacy UX. This is the first Magic Quadrant Gartner has published for the Privacy UX market.

Gartner defines the privacy user experience (UX) as "the components of an organization's privacy program that directly touch an individual." For enterprise marketing teams, customer consent determines how much of their data they can put to work. That information is usually scattered across CRM, marketing automation, web and data platforms. As a result, campaigns stall in review, audiences shrink to whatever feels safe, and every new channel raises the same question about what the team is allowed to use.

The Syrenis Platform answers that question. It records every consent and preference by purpose, channel and brand, and keeps that record in sync across the systems where campaigns are built. Global enterprises in automotive, pharmaceuticals, life sciences and more use Syrenis to run multi-brand, multi-jurisdiction preference programs from a single source of truth.

"Most marketing leaders can't say with confidence which customer data they're cleared to use, and that uncertainty costs them growth," said Adam Binks, CEO of Syrenis. "We've built the Syrenis Platform around solving that one problem, so every choice a customer makes is captured accurately, honored in every system and ready for the marketing team to act on. We believe being named a Niche Player reflects that focus, and it's where we'll keep investing."

Syrenis expanded into North America in 2026 with a dedicated U.S. go-to-market team in Atlanta, serving enterprises managing consent across multiple brands and jurisdictions.
