Cancer Diagnostics Market to Reach US$ 41.5 Billion by 2031 at 7.2% CAGR, says Wissen Research

SHERIDAN, Wyo., Oct. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The global cancer diagnostics market is valued at USD 29.3 billion in 2026 and is projected to reach USD 41.5 billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 7.2% over the forecast period (2026–2031), according to a new study by Wissen Research.

The starting point is simple: more people need testing. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) counted about 20 million new cancer cases and 9.7 million cancer deaths worldwide in 2022, and expects annual new cases to pass 35 million by 2050. Every one of those patients may need screening, diagnosis, staging, molecular characterization, and follow-up, so the load on diagnostic tools keeps building.

What is changing faster is how the testing gets done. Diagnosis that once leaned mostly on imaging and a pathologist's reading of tissue is becoming a layered process that also draws on digital pathology, molecular and genomic tests, liquid biopsy, and AI.

Diagnosis Is Becoming a Stack: Imaging and Pathology Now Share the Work With Molecular and AI Tools

Mammography, CT, MRI, and tissue pathology are still the backbone of cancer diagnosis. Pathology in particular remains central, since examining tissue and cells under the microscope is how a cancer is confirmed, and immunohistochemistry adds protein-level detail that helps pin down the tumor type and the right therapy. What the report highlights is the layer being added on top. According to the National Cancer Institute, an advanced diagnosis now tells clinicians not only where the cancer is and how far it has spread, but also what type it is and which genetic and molecular changes could influence treatment.

That is where precision oncology comes in. Molecular testing is used to profile tumors and find markers that guide treatment, and next-generation sequencing based comprehensive genomic profiling lets labs look at several biomarkers from a single sample. The FDA's list of companion diagnostics, which identify patients likely to benefit from a particular therapy, those at risk of severe side effects, or how well a treatment is working, is increasingly populated with NGS and liquid biopsy tests. AI is joining the mix as well. Tools are being built for medical imaging, digital pathology, and lesion detection and classification, the FDA has approved AI systems for medical use, and the NCI continues to advance research on AI in cancer imaging.

Liquid Biopsy Is Moving Up, But Tissue Isn't Going Anywhere

Liquid biopsy is fast becoming an important tool because it can pick up signs of cancer in blood or other body fluids instead of requiring a tissue sample each time. The NCI describes it as testing blood for cancer cells or pieces of tumor DNA, with uses that include diagnosis, treatment decisions, tracking response, and spotting recurrence. The FDA has already approved liquid biopsy companion diagnostics, including tests that use NGS to analyze circulating DNA from plasma.

The report is careful about the limits, though. Liquid biopsy is not yet ready to replace tissue-based diagnostics across the board, and questions about sensitivity, specificity, clinical utility, and validation remain open. The same caution applies to multi-cancer detection tests, where the NCI is still studying how they should fit into screening and what they would mean for patient outcomes.

What's Fueling Growth in the Cancer Diagnostics Market

- More patients to test: Demographic change is expanding the number of people who need screening, diagnosis, staging, and monitoring.

- A push for earlier detection: The WHO separates early diagnosis in people with symptoms from screening in people without them, and says earlier detection leads to better treatment outcomes. Screening for breast, cervical, colorectal, and lung cancer keeps imaging, cytology, and other tests in steady demand.

- Precision oncology: Molecular testing is now used to profile tumors and find markers that decide treatment, lifting demand for molecular and biomarker diagnostics.

- Genomic testing and liquid biopsy: NGS-based profiling checks multiple genetic changes at once, while liquid biopsy looks at tumor-derived DNA in blood or other fluids.

- AI and digitalization: AI is being developed for medical imaging, digital pathology, lesion detection and classification, and handling complex diagnostic data.

- Asia Pacific build-out: New hospitals, diagnostic labs, and cancer hospitals, along with public screening programs, are widening access to modern diagnostics across the region.

Challenges Facing the Cancer Diagnostics Market

A new cancer test has to clear a high bar before it earns clinical trust. Developers contend with diagnostic accuracy, sample quality, tumor heterogeneity, biomarker variability, false positives and false negatives, turnaround time, reimbursement, data interoperability, and regulatory requirements. Each technology has its own version of the problem. Molecular testing can be limited by scarce tissue and by tumors that contain genetically distinct populations. Liquid biopsy has to detect very low concentrations of tumor material. AI tools for imaging and pathology need the right datasets and proper clinical validation.

There is also a harder question behind the technical ones. A test can reveal a biomarker or an abnormality without proving that using it improves patient outcomes, which is why clinical utility matters so much for newer approaches such as multi-cancer detection.

Recent Strategic Developments in the Cancer Diagnostics Market

On September 28, 2026, Leica Biosystems, a subsidiary of Danaher Corporation, completed its acquisition of StatLab Medical Products. The deal widens Leica's anatomic pathology portfolio across specimen collection, preparation, staining, digital imaging, and AI-enabled diagnosis, strengthening its end-to-end pathology capabilities and supporting faster, more standardized cancer diagnostic workflows.

On July 27, 2026, Siemens Healthineers AG and Vanderbilt Health entered an $87 million multi-year partnership to modernize diagnostic imaging and radiation oncology. The agreement covers MRI, CT, molecular imaging, and interventional radiology systems, and advances AI-enabled radiology, personalized medicine, and workflow automation.

On May 7, 2026, F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd entered a definitive agreement to acquire PathAI for up to $1.05 billion, including $750 million upfront and milestone payments. The acquisition was expected to strengthen Roche's digital pathology and AI capabilities by integrating PathAI's AI-powered pathology platform with Roche's oncology diagnostics and companion diagnostics portfolio.

Taken together, the three deals put money behind pathology, imaging, and AI-enabled workflows.

Key Insights from Cancer Diagnostics Market Analysis

- IVD testing held the largest share by product type in 2025, reflecting how widely laboratory testing is used for diagnosis, disease characterization, biomarker assessment, and treatment decisions. The category covers kits and reagents, PCR and NGS instruments, in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, and other laboratory technologies.

- Diagnosis and disease characterization held the largest share by application in 2025, because malignancy has to be confirmed and its biology characterized before treatment begins. Molecular and genomic testing identifies mutations, gene fusions, biomarker expression, microsatellite instability, and mismatch-repair status that can steer treatment choice.

- North America held the largest regional share in 2025, supported by advanced medical infrastructure, established cancer-screening programs, advanced imaging and laboratory technology, molecular diagnostics, and a number of global diagnostic and medical-device leaders.

- Asia Pacific is the fastest-growing region, driven by a rising cancer burden, better healthcare infrastructure, and investment in diagnostic facilities.

- The market is moderately consolidated in established diagnostic technologies but remains fragmented across emerging molecular, liquid biopsy, digital pathology, and AI-enabled applications, where major diagnostic and life-sciences companies compete alongside specialized molecular-diagnostic and oncology-focused technology companies.

Key Players in the Cancer Diagnostics Market

Leading companies in the cancer diagnostics market are focusing on medical imaging, pathology, molecular diagnostics, genomic testing, companion diagnostics, liquid biopsy, cancer screening, digital pathology, artificial intelligence, and expansion of precision-oncology testing.

The report names F. Hoffmann-La Roche, Danaher, Abbott Laboratories, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Siemens Healthineers as the top five players, with established positions across pathology, molecular diagnostics, genomic testing, medical imaging, biomarker testing, laboratory diagnostics, and precision oncology. Recent moves show where several of them are heading:

- Roche (Switzerland): digital pathology, AI, and companion diagnostics, reinforced by its agreement to acquire PathAI.

- Danaher (US): anatomic pathology through Leica Biosystems and its StatLab acquisition.

- Siemens Healthineers (Germany): diagnostic imaging and radiation oncology, including its partnership with Vanderbilt Health.

- Abbott (US) and Thermo Fisher Scientific (US): also in the top five, and, along with GE HealthCare and Hologic, among the companies the report points to as active in North America.

Other companies covered in the report include QIAGEN, Illumina, Agilent Technologies, Becton Dickinson, Exact Sciences, Guardant Health, Natera, GRAIL, and Tempus AI.

Workplace Benefits Article in HelloNation Explains Why Employees Overlook Valuable Workplace Benefits, Featuring Benefits Consulting Expert Stacia Robinson

The article explains how clear, year-round benefits communication helps employees understand and use the workplace resources available to them.

MONTGOMERY, Ala., Oct. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- What workplace benefits are employees missing without even realizing it? HelloNation answers that question in an article featuring insights from Benefits Consulting Expert Stacia Robinson of BeneChoice Companies LLC in Montgomery, Alabama.

The article examines why many employees fail to take full advantage of valuable workplace benefits, even as employers invest significant resources in comprehensive programs. Health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, mental health support, flexible spending accounts, and professional development opportunities can improve employees' financial well-being and quality of life. According to the HelloNation article, many workers overlook these offerings because the information is unfamiliar, difficult to understand, or seems unrelated to their immediate priorities.

The article explains that timing is one of the most common barriers. Employees often receive detailed information about employee benefits only during onboarding or annual enrollment periods. During these busy moments, workers are expected to absorb a large amount of information while focusing on new responsibilities or meeting enrollment deadlines. As a result, employees easily forget important details before they become relevant.

The HelloNation article also notes that complex terminology and lengthy documentation make benefits communication more difficult than necessary. Employees may hesitate to ask questions because they assume they should already understand the material. Others postpone learning about available programs until they need them, only to discover they have missed an enrollment period or failed to take advantage of a benefit that could have provided meaningful assistance much sooner.

Benefits Consulting Expert Stacia Robinson's featured insights emphasize that organizations can improve employee benefits participation by making information available year-round rather than limiting communication to enrollment periods. The article recommends presenting one benefit at a time using plain language and practical examples that connect directly to everyday situations employees face.

The article illustrates this approach by showing how a health savings account can help reduce medical expenses and how an employee assistance program offers confidential support when personal or workplace challenges arise. Presenting benefits through familiar situations makes them easier for employees to understand, remember, and use when appropriate.

Regular reminders also strengthen awareness of workplace benefits, according to the article. Seasonal updates, brief educational messages, and examples tied to everyday decisions help reinforce key information without overwhelming employees. Managers and human resources professionals help by directing employees to reliable resources and encouraging questions when they need clarification.

The article further explains that growing businesses often face additional communication challenges as new benefit offerings are introduced and eligibility requirements evolve. Existing employees may not realize that available coverage has expanded or changed. Keeping benefits communication current helps employees stay informed and build confidence in their options.

The HelloNation article also encourages employers to gather employee feedback to better understand which programs cause confusion. Surveys, informal conversations, and frequently asked questions can identify misunderstandings and help organizations improve future communication. Real-life examples also make a meaningful difference by helping employees recognize how a retirement savings plan can grow over time or how wellness programs and preventive care benefits fit naturally into everyday life.

According to the article, better communication creates value for both employees and employers. Employees who understand their options are more likely to participate in available programs, make informed decisions, and appreciate the resources available to them. Employers, in turn, receive greater value from their investment while fostering a workplace culture built on transparency, understanding, and informed decision-making.

Why Employees Overlook Valuable Workplace Benefits features insights from Stacia Robinson, Benefits Consulting Expert in Montgomery, Alabama, in HelloNation.

HealFast Expands Patient-First Mission into Weight Loss and Metabolic Health Support with Telehealth Launch

Physician-founded health company builds on its roots in recovery nutrition and education as it expands support for patients navigating medical weight management

BOSTON, Oct. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- HealFast, a physician-founded health and wellness company focused on supporting people through demanding health transitions, today announced the next phase of its growth: an expansion into telehealth focused on metabolic health and support for individuals navigating GLP-1-assisted weight-management journeys.

The expansion builds on HealFast's original mission to address the nutritional and educational needs arising from significant periods of change; including surgery, injury and childbirth. Now as more patients begin medical weight-management journeys, HealFast plans to bring that same patient-first approach to this rapidly evolving area of health care.

"From the beginning, HealFast was built around meaningful moments of transition – such as a change in their health - and want more than a simple transaction," said Justin Samra, co-founder and CEO of HealFast. "Our role has always been to unlock patients' optimal outcomes by asking and delivering what they require in that moment – whether better information, nutritional support or simply a clearer path forward. We see trusted telehealth access and metabolic support as a natural extension of our mission."

Supporting the journey beyond the prescription

GLP-1 medications have reshaped the medical weight-management landscape and introduced new opportunities for patients working with licensed health care professionals. They have also created a growing need for practical education and support around the broader patient experience.

HealFast's expansion into metabolic health is being developed around a simple principle: medication may be one part of a patient's journey, but it is not the entire journey.

The company is building a broader support ecosystem intended to connect appropriate access to medical care with nutrition, education and patient-focused resources. Additional details regarding HealFast's telehealth capabilities and metabolic-health offerings will be announced separately.

"As physicians, we know that a prescription exists within a much larger health journey," said Dr.Myroslav Figura, co-founder of HealFast. "Patients have questions about nutrition, lifestyle, expectations and how to take care of themselves throughout periods of significant change. Our goal is to help patients feel better informed and better supported while keeping individual medical decisions where they belong - between the patient and their licensed health care provider."

From recovery support to metabolic health

HealFast originally developed products and educational resources for people preparing for and recovering from surgery and other physically demanding health events. That experience shaped the company's broader view that major health transitions often extend beyond an individual procedure, product or prescription.

The company's move into telehealth, weight loss, and metabolic health reflects an expansion of that philosophy to unlock optimal patient outcomes.

HealFast expects to introduce additional resources, services and products supporting patients on medical weight-management journeys over the coming months.

Albany Park Relaunches With a Simple Promise: The Sofa You Want, Made For You in Seven Days
Image File
Original HTML

The relaunched brand builds every sofa to order in its own factory. Its best-selling Kova comes in two looks and the customer's choice of comfort, with a free cushion exchange in the home if the comfort isn't right.

CYPRESS, Calif., Oct. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Albany Park relaunched today as a sofa brand that makes what it sells. Most sofa brands do not make the sofas they sell; imported or built to order, most sofas come from someone else's factory. Albany Park, owned by furniture manufacturer Exemplis since 2022, builds every sofa to order in its own factory in El Florido, Baja California, Mexico, and ships it in seven days, with the delivery window shown by ZIP code before the customer orders.

A sofa is one of the most considered purchases in the home: how it looks, how it feels, what's inside it, when it's coming, what it costs, and who stands behind it. Albany Park built the relaunch around answering each of those plainly, before the order is placed.

"People have been asked to make the same tradeoff in furniture for years," said Paul DeVries, CEO of Albany Park. "Buy something off the shelf, or wait to have something made for you. We rebuilt Albany Park around the idea that you shouldn't have to settle. We make beautiful, comfortable sofas, built to order, quickly and affordably. The sofa you want. Made for you in seven days."

Being the maker is the reason behind the brand's promises. It's how Albany Park's parent company, Exemplis, has worked for thirty years: building furniture for offices, universities, and hospitals in its own factories, with more than 2,000 craftspeople. Albany Park builds sofas the same way. Its own people build the frame, make the cushions, upholster the sofa, and inspect it before it leaves. We build it. We know it. We stand behind it.

Kova, the brand's best-selling modular sofa, comes in two looks: Kova Box, the tailored one, and Kova Pillow, the relaxed one. Every Kova is built in the customer's choice of comfort, soft, medium, or firm. If the comfort turns out not to be right, a white-glove technician exchanges the cushions in the customer's home, at no cost: one free exchange within 60 days of delivery. The comfort choice and the exchange are available on Kova now and coming to the brand's Barton and Lido collections.

The brand has also published its pricing rules: no inflated reference prices, no perpetual markdowns, and a 25% ceiling on a few real sales events a year, with end dates that never move. The price you see is the price Albany Park intends to sell at.
