LAKELAND, Fla., Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida Southern College honored distinguished alumnus Lt. Gen. Donald L. Kerrick on Friday, Oct. 16, with the dedication of the College's Army ROTC building in his name. The celebration continues Saturday, Oct. 17, with the second annual Lt. Gen. Donald L. Kerrick JROTC Raider Competition, welcoming 22 high school teams from across Florida to Florida Southern.

Through a generous gift, Kerrick is supporting significant renovations and equipment upgrades for Florida Southern's Army ROTC Moccasin Battalion. The investment will enhance training facilities and resources for future military officers and leaders. In recognition of his generosity and distinguished service, the facility will be named the Lt. Gen. Donald L. Kerrick Building.

"Lieutenant General Kerrick represents the very best of Florida Southern College and the extraordinary impact our graduates can have on the world," said Dr. Jeremy Martin, president of Florida Southern College. "From his distinguished service to our nation at the highest levels of military and civilian leadership to his continued investment in our students, his life exemplifies the values of leadership, character and service that define our institution."

A 1971 graduate of Florida Southern College, Kerrick was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army upon graduation. His distinguished military career included combat assignments in Southeast Asia and Operation Desert Storm, as well as senior leadership positions in military and national security operations. In 2000, he was appointed Deputy National Security Advisor to the President of the United States. He also served on the U.S. Balkans Peacekeeping Delegation, which helped negotiate the historic Dayton Peace Agreement ending the war in Bosnia.

Among his numerous military honors are the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit and Bronze Star Medal. Florida Southern has also recognized Kerrick with its Distinguished Alumni Achievement and an honorary Doctor of Diplomacy degree.

The celebration continues Saturday as the College's Army ROTC Moccasin Battalion hosts the second annual Lt. Gen. Donald L. Kerrick JROTC Raider Competition. The event will bring together 22 high school teams to compete in five challenges testing physical endurance, discipline, leadership and teamwork, including a 5K run, One Rope Bridge, Cross Country Rescue, Tire Flip and Physical Team Test.

Teams will compete in male, female and mixed divisions, with awards recognizing individual challenges and overall performance. The annual competition also introduces high school cadets to the educational and leadership opportunities available through Florida Southern's Army ROTC program.

"Leadership is developed through experience, discipline and the willingness to push beyond perceived limits," said Lt. Col. Harry Dingle, professor of military science at Florida Southern College. "The Raider Competition gives young cadets an opportunity to put those principles into action. Lieutenant General Kerrick's remarkable career exemplifies that commitment to leadership and service, and his investment will help us continue developing future generations of leaders."

Established in 1951, Florida Southern's Army ROTC Moccasin Battalion has a longstanding tradition of preparing students for military service, with alumni including nine general officers and numerous distinguished military and civilian leaders.

The building dedication and statewide competition celebrate Kerrick's legacy of service while advancing the College's commitment to developing future leaders.

Luvme Hair Highlights Versatile Wig Looks for Fall 2026

The brand explores how different lengths, textures, and silhouettes can bring flexibility to seasonal hair styling.

NEW YORK, Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Luvme Hair is highlighting versatile wig looks for Fall 2026, focusing on the variety of lengths, textures, and silhouettes available to consumers looking to refresh their style for the changing season.

Rather than defining fall hair through a single aesthetic, Luvme Hair is placing greater emphasis on personal choice. From polished straight styles and soft waves to defined curls, layered cuts, and shorter silhouettes, different wig styles can offer distinct ways to approach seasonal dressing and everyday beauty routines.

Fall Styling Goes Beyond One Hair Trend

As temperatures change, wardrobes often shift toward sweaters, jackets, tailored layers, and richer seasonal colors. Hair can play a complementary role, with different textures and lengths creating new proportions and visual balance.

Luvme Hair's human hair wig includes a broad selection of straight, wavy, curly hair, textured, short, and longer styles. This variety allows wearers to consider their hairstyle alongside their daily routines, wardrobe preferences, and upcoming occasions.

For some, a sleek straight style can provide a polished finish for workdays. Others may prefer waves or curls that introduce movement and texture to a seasonal look. Shorter styles can create a more defined silhouette, while longer wigs offer additional opportunities for volume and styling.

Exploring Seasonal Looks Through Texture and Length

Texture can be just as influential as length when creating a fall-inspired appearance. Waves can add softness, curls can bring volume and movement, while straight textures can create a cleaner and more structured finish.

For shoppers interested in shorter seasonal styles, Luvme Hair's Fall Short Wig Hairstyles guide explores seven fall-ready looks, including dark plum waves, layered bobs, a soft pixie, cropped curls, and face-framing curls.

The brand's Short Wig collection provides another option for those who want to explore shorter silhouettes or pixie cut styles, while the Glueless Wig collection offers styles designed around a more convenient wearing experience.

From Everyday Routines to Seasonal Occasions

Fall styling can involve a wide range of settings, from workdays and casual weekends to dinners, gatherings, and upcoming holiday events. A versatile wig allows wearers to adjust their appearance according to the occasion without limiting themselves to one particular style direction.

For Luvme Hair, the Fall 2026 conversation is centered on flexibility rather than a single must-have look. Different lengths, textures, colors, and constructions give consumers more ways to approach their seasonal style while reflecting their individual preferences.

Whether the choice is a classic straight look, soft waves, defined curls, a layered silhouette, or a shorter cut, versatile wig styling gives fall wardrobes another way to evolve with the season.

About Luvme Hair

Luvme Hair offers human hair wigs across a range of textures, lengths, colors, and constructions, with a focus on natural-looking results, convenient wear, and versatile styling options for different routines and personal preferences.

EVIDENT Expands Its Pramana Digital Pathology Portfolio to Support Small and Medium-Sized Labs

The new Pramana™ POD benchtop WSI scanner delivers autonomous imaging to help laboratories create pathologist-ready whole slide images with minimal operator intervention.

NEEDHAM, Mass., Oct. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Evident announced the Pramana™ POD whole slide imaging (WSI) scanner, a new benchtop system designed to help laboratories produce trusted images. Built for small and medium-sized laboratories and specialty applications within larger institutions, the scanner helps make digital pathology adoption more accessible.

As pathology laboratories expand digital workflows amid increasing case volumes and operational demands, they need scanning systems that produce consistent, high-quality images across specimen types while integrating into existing laboratory workflows. Evident designed the Pramana POD scanner to address those needs, extending proven Pramana autonomous WSI technology to smaller laboratories.

"Pramana WSI technology has received tremendous acceptance from pathology labs across academic medical centers and network labs across the United States," said Prasanth Perugupalli, Vice President of Digital Pathology, Evident. "By incorporating quality assurance into the whole slide imaging process, Pramana technology can help labs of varying sizes reduce the need for post-scan QA and the associated costs and delays."

The Pramana POD scanner automates imaging with an advanced tissue finder, extensive label detection, and automated focal plane and scan-profile selection. Built-in image-quality assessment helps deliver pathologist-ready whole slide images and identify scans that may require further review. Volumetric imaging captures multiple focal planes to support the selection of sharp focal information across the scanned area, with true 40X imaging at 25 slides per hour under defined conditions.

The Pramana series of autonomous WSI scanners is well-suited for most brightfield imaging applications, including histopathology, core biopsies, hematology, cytology, and microbiology.

"Scientific advances move quickly, but laboratory infrastructure changes slowly," Perugupalli added. "With the Pramana POD scanner, small and medium-sized labs can build as their needs evolve."

WASHINGTON, Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- National Press Club President Mark Schoeff Jr. released the following statement today:

"The National Press Club condemns the attack on Washington Post photographer Heidi Levine.

Levine was viciously assaulted while doing exactly what an independent reporter is supposed to do – bearing witness to events unfolding in the West Bank. We're glad to hear she is receiving the medical attention she needs.

Journalists should never be targets in areas of conflict or anywhere else. A free and independent press cannot function properly under the threat of violence.

The Israeli government must conduct a full investigation into the incident and hold those responsible accountable. A brazen attack like this cannot go unanswered. If it does, it could put other journalists at risk by encouraging additional violence against the media."

Fox Factory Holding Investigation Notice: Levi & Korsinsky Notifies Investors of Pending Investigation Into Fox Factory Holding (FOXF)

Original HTML

After reaffirming FY2026 guidance in May and raising it in August, Fox Factory cut its full-year revenue guidance by approximately $80 million at the midpoint, citing weaker Marucci performance, PVG supply disruptions, AAG upfit challenges, and softer bike demand. FOXF shareholders who lost money may have the right to seek a recovery.

NEW YORK, Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Fox Factory Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: FOXF) CFO Dennis Schemm told investors on May 7, 2026, "We are reaffirming our full year guide for 2026." The Company has since cut its FY2026 net sales outlook to $1.35–$1.38 billion, down from $1.42–$1.47 billion. FOXF shares fell following the announcement. Shareholders who lost money on FOXF are encouraged to submit their losses for a free review or contact Joseph E. Levi, Esq. at [email protected] or (212) 363-7500.

On May 7, 2026, CFO Dennis Schemm tied the reaffirmation of Fox Factory's FY2026 guidance to "our first quarter performance and the continued execution of our cost-out programs." On the same call, CEO Michael Dennison stated that first-quarter changes "should enable many of the other work streams to drive top and bottom line improvements towards the end of this year." On October 16, 2026, however, the Company lowered its FY2026 net sales guidance to $1.35–$1.38 billion, reducing the midpoint to $1.365 billion—$80 million below the previously stated midpoint of $1.445 billion.

When Fox Factory lowered its FY2026 outlook, it cited several headwinds, including the timing of the Marucci divestiture, a supply disruption at PVG, operating challenges at AAG, and softer bicycle sales. Levi & Korsinsky is investigating potential securities law violations on behalf of FOXF shareholders.

Q: What documents do I need to participate?A: Brokerage statements or trade confirmations showing purchase dates, share quantities, prices paid, and any subsequent sale dates and prices.

Q: What if I already sold my FOXF shares -- can I still recover losses?A: Yes. Eligibility is based on when you purchased, not whether you still hold the shares. Investors who bought FOXF and sold at a loss may still participate in the investigation.

Q: What does it cost me to participate?A: There is no upfront cost to submit your information and review whether you may be eligible to recover. Should you choose to participate in any resulting action, these matters are generally handled on a contingency basis, with any attorneys' fees and expenses subject to court approval.

Q: Do I need to go to court or give testimony?A: No. Participating in the investigation does not require court appearances or depositions. If legal action is later pursued, the overwhelming majority of affected investors never appear in court either.

Corgi Insurance hires former Chubb Underwriting AVP James Kullman

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Corgi Insurance today announced the appointment of James Kullman as Head of Underwriting, North America. Kullman brings nearly 15 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting and management, with expertise spanning risk assessment, portfolio management, product development and underwriting strategy.

Kullman joins Corgi from Chubb, where he most recently served as Assistant Vice President and Pacific North Region Underwriting Manager for North American Small and Lower Middle Market. His previous experience includes underwriting roles at CNA Insurance, The Hartford and Liberty Mutual, where he worked across construction, middle-market accounts and property and casualty insurance.

At Corgi, Kullman will lead efforts to advance commercial underwriting across North America, leveraging AI to improve risk selection, develop underwriting guidelines, strengthen portfolio management and support regulatory compliance. His role will focus on combining traditional underwriting expertise with AI-assisted tools and processes to help make commercial insurance more efficient, responsive and accessible.

"Commercial insurance has relied on many of the same processes for decades. AI gives us an opportunity to rethink how underwriting works, from how we evaluate risk to how quickly we can deliver a quote," said James Kullman, Head of Underwriting, North America at Corgi. "I'm excited to bring my experience in traditional underwriting to a team that is building new technology and infrastructure for the industry."

Corgi is building a full-stack insurance platform that combines proprietary underwriting technology with in-house claims handling and insurance infrastructure. By bringing underwriting expertise and AI together, the company aims to help businesses get coverage more efficiently while maintaining disciplined risk selection and strong underwriting standards.

Kullman's appointment reflects Corgi's continued investment in insurance expertise as it expands its commercial insurance capabilities and builds technology designed to modernize how carriers, brokers and customers interact.
