Statement From Granite Telecommunications

QUINCY, Mass., Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Granite Telecommunications confirmed today that a former employee, George Meegan, has been indicted on criminal charges including larceny, filing a false tax return and money laundering. The charges arise from a Granite internal investigation which revealed that Meegan had used his company credit card to purchase gift cards which he falsely claimed he was donating to local charities as part of the company's charitable programs.

Granite has donated over $400 million to charitable causes since 2002 and has consistently been recognized as one of the most philanthropic companies in Massachusetts. Granite's investigation revealed that Meegan abused a position of trust with respect to Granite's charitable activities to carry out this criminal activity. Through its investigation, Granite learned that Meegan represented to Granite that he had given the gift cards to charitable causes. In fact, Meegan kept the gift cards — worth over $225,000 — for his personal use.

Granite immediately alerted authorities after it discovered Meegan's scheme, and the company has cooperated fully with law enforcement investigators throughout their investigation.

Limber Health Launches Recovery Forecast, the First-Ever Predicted Outcomes Solution for Rehab Therapy

Built on the largest risk-adjusted patient outcomes database in rehab therapy, Limber's Recovery Forecast replaces traditional single point-in-time forecasts or MCID comparisons with a 90-day outlook

PITTSBURGH, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Limber Health, a Net Health company, today announced Recovery Forecast, the first-ever predicted outcomes trajectory solution for rehab therapy. Built into the Limber outcomes platform, Recovery Forecast maps each patient's expected path throughout care by comparing them with millions of completed assessments and applying robust risk adjustment. Available to clients this fall, this new clinical capability covers the primary MSK regions of injury.

"Current solutions show a point-in-time measurement, but rarely provide context or insight into the score," said Nirav Modi, president of Limber Health. "Recovery Forecast shows clinicians how a patient is progressing through their plan of care, so they can assess, adjust, and guide them toward the best possible improvement."

Because Limber Outcomes follows patients from evaluation through the full episode of care, the expected path stays visible between visits. At intake, the feature predicts each patient's path; then at each reassessment, clinicians compare the actual score with the prediction for real-time context. This gives clinicians an opportunity to adjust the course of care.

"Being able to predict a patient's outcome trajectory is a game changer," said Brian Kelly, Vice President of Innovation & Clinical Excellence at Ivy Health. "It transforms outcomes data into real-time clinical intelligence that enhances patient engagement, empowers proactive clinical decision-making, and ensures every patient is positioned for an optimal recovery."

A newly developed progression indicator, the Predicted Moderate Clinical Improvement (P-MCI), marks where a patient is expected to reach clinically meaningful improvement. P-MCI is already part of commercial payer quality programs. It underpins five functional improvement measures in the CMS proposed rule for the 2027 Physician Fee Schedule, with Limber Health and Patient360 as measure stewards. Asuri.ai Launches Multi-Agent AI Platform for Persistent Business Workflows
Image File
Original HTML

The agentic platform helps nontechnical teams save time, eliminate redundant work and deploy specialized AI agents across more than 1,000 existing applications

IRVINE, Calif., Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Asuri today announced the launch of its multi-agent enterprise AI platform, designed to help businesses move beyond copilots and deploy persistent AI workflows across complete business processes.

As AI models become more capable, the challenge for businesses is shifting from generating answers to safely giving AI the context, system access and autonomy required to perform real work.

Asuri brings those pieces into one platform.

Nontechnical teams can define a business process, connect the applications involved, assign specialized agents to different responsibilities, and control what each agent can access, recommend or execute. By coordinating work that would otherwise require employees to repeatedly move between systems, gather information and perform routine follow-ups, Asuri helps organizations save time and remove redundant manual work.

"The model itself is becoming less of the bottleneck," said Artem Bespaloff, CEO and co-founder of Asuri. "The harder problem is coordinating agents across real business systems while giving each one the right context, permissions and level of autonomy."

Unlike traditional AI assistants that primarily respond to prompts, Asuri is designed around persistent multi-agent workflows.

Asuri combines multi-agent orchestration, workflow logic, persistent context and agent-level permission controls in a single environment, with more than 1,000 integrations connecting agents to the software businesses already use.

This allows companies to automate processes across existing systems instead of replacing their technology stack, reducing repetitive administrative work and freeing employees to focus on higher-value decisions and relationships.

As part of its launch, Asuri is introducing prebuilt customer intelligence workflows that consolidate information from multiple business systems, analyze client activity against company-defined rules, and automatically alert employees to significant developments. By eliminating the need to manually track client activity across different platforms, these workflows reduce the workload on sales and research teams, helping them stay informed, identify opportunities, and focus on higher-value activities.

The same architecture can support workflows across sales, operations, finance, customer success, research and internal compliance.

Businesses can learn more and request access at Asuri.ai.

About Asuri

Asuri is a multi-agent enterprise AI platform, built by Sprouter Technologies, for persistent, governed business workflows. With more than 1,000 integrations, Asuri helps organizations connect specialized AI agents across their existing applications, reduce repetitive work, save employee time and automate processes while maintaining individual permissions, autonomy boundaries and human oversight.

Breakthrough T1D Funded Clinical Trial Testing Islet Cell Transplantation with Eledon's Tegoprubart Expands to Include People with Type 1 Diabetes and Kidney Disease
Image File
Original HTML

NEW YORK, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- A new clinical trial funded by Breakthrough T1D recently launched and is testing islet cell transplantation paired with Eledon Pharmaceuticals' investigational immunosuppression therapy tegoprubart in people living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and chronic kidney disease (CKD). The first participant in the trial received an islet cell transplant, marking the first time individuals with T1D and CKD have been included in islet transplant trials.

Nearly one in three people living with T1D develop CKD, which increases the risk of kidney failure and other T1D complications. Treatment options for these individuals have remained limited, and until now, potential kidney toxicity related to standard immunosuppressant regimens used in transplants has kept people with T1D and reduced kidney function out of islet cell transplant studies. Eledon's tegoprubart has been shown in earlier studies to have fewer and milder side effects than other immunosuppressant regimens.

"Advancing promising islet cell research that is a next step toward durable and scalable cures for type 1 diabetes is a key priority for Breakthrough T1D," said Esther Latres, Ph.D., Breakthrough T1D senior vice president, Research. "We're proud to support this trial that expands cell therapy research and access to people living with T1D and chronic kidney disease for the first time."

"This first transplant represents a milestone towards expanding islet cell therapy to a broader population of people living with type 1 diabetes, including those with kidney disease who have historically been excluded from these studies," said Piotr Witkowski, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Pancreatic and Islet Transplant Program at the University of Chicago and principal investigator of the trial. "By replacing tacrolimus with tegoprubart, we hope to protect both the transplanted islets and our patients' kidney function, and show that more people with T1D can safely benefit from this therapy."

The multi-center trial is currently enrolling 10 participants at the University of Chicago and the University of Miami. Eligible participants must be 18-70 years old, diagnosed with T1D for more than five years with onset before age 40, living with CKD at stage 1, 2, or 3a, and have impaired awareness of hypoglycemia.

This new trial builds on the current Breakthrough T1D-funded study testing tegoprubart with deceased-donor islets transplants in people with severe hypoglycemic events or hypoglycemia unawareness. All 12 participants enrolled in the current trial to-date are off external insulin, and three more people are currently enrolled.

Breakthrough T1D awarded $8.5 million to the University of Chicago to fund the trial. Eledon is a T1D Fund portfolio company.

About Breakthrough T1D, Formerly JDRF

As the leading global type 1 diabetes research and advocacy organization, Breakthrough T1D helps make everyday life with type 1 diabetes better while driving toward cures. We do this by investing in the most promising research, advocating for progress by working with government to address issues that impact the T1D community, and helping educate and empower individuals facing this condition.

About Type 1 Diabetes (T1D)

T1D is an autoimmune condition that causes the pancreas to make very little insulin or none at all. This leads to dependence on insulin therapy and the risk of short and long-term complications, which can include highs and lows in blood sugar; damage to the kidneys, eyes, nerves, and heart; and even death. Globally, it impacts 9.5 million people. Many believe T1D is only diagnosed in childhood and adolescence, but diagnosis in adulthood is common and accounts for nearly 50% of all T1D diagnoses. The onset of T1D has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. While its causes are not yet entirely understood, scientists believe that both genetic factors and environmental triggers are involved. There is currently no cure for T1D.

BMI Imaging Brings Industry Insights Home from IIMDA Fall 2026 in Québec City

BMI's leadership compare notes with fellow providers on how great projects get done.

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- BMI Imaging Systems, Inc., a leader in secure digitization, attended the IIMDA Fall 2026 meeting, held October 5–7 in Québec City, Canada. The fall gathering brought IIMDA members together to share how they run their operations, serve their clients, and prepare for what's next in information management.

The IIMDA meeting isn't a typical trade show. It's built around member presentations, where providers walk each other through real processes, lessons learned, and what's working in their businesses. That peer-to-peer format makes it one of the most practical events of the year for companies in the digitization space.

BMI was represented by CEO Will Whitney and EVP Brad Gilbert.

"The best part of IIMDA is that people show you how they actually do the work," said Will. "Brad and I came home with a stack of notes, and we're already using them to take a hard look at our own process, from the first call with a client all the way through delivery."

"Hearing how other operations handle intake, quality control, and project communication gave us a lot of practical ideas," said Brad. "Some of them we can put in place right away."

BMI is now applying those takeaways in a review of its end-to-end project process. The focus is clearer communication and a smoother experience for clients at every stage of a project.

Hip-Hop Pioneer Sophia Chang Launches New Podcast “The Baddest Bitch in the Room” on SiriusXM’s Women’s Empowerment Network

The podcast is available now with episodes released on Wednesdays

NEW YORK – October 20, 2026 – Music industry legend, author, and empowerment coach Sophia Chang launched her new podcast, The Baddest Bitch in the Room, today, October 21. It’s available now on the SiriusXM app and across all major platforms as part of SiriusXM’s Women’s Empowerment Network (WEN), an initiative that's executive produced by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and SiriusXM Urban View host Karen Hunter.

Widely known as the first Asian woman in hip-hop, Chang shattered barriers and upended expectations, managing legendary artists including Wu-Tang Clan members RZA, GZA and Ol’ Dirty Bastard, as well as D’Angelo, Raphael Saadiq, Q-Tip, and A Tribe Called Quest. Now, she’s grabbing the mic to bring her extraordinary life experiences, fearless voice, and unapologetic perspective to the world. She will use her podcast to offer listeners insights and strategies on confidence, relationships, careers, personal growth, and self-discovery.

Drawing on her decades in hip-hop, martial arts, and Buddhism, Chang will invite listeners to recognize their value and realize the fullest version of themselves to achieve success in their business, personal, and spiritual lives. The podcast will be guided by Chang’s philosophy that “confidence is queen, agency is apex, and pleasure is paramount.” She will be in conversation with experts in a spectrum of fields, including culture, media, sex, law, feminism, and social sciences.

“I’ve thought about doing a podcast for over a decade but didn’t encounter the right home until Karen Hunter presented me with this unique opportunity,” said Chang. “I am deeply excited to share my knowledge and wisdom, triumph and failure, and joy and grief on myriad topics. My mission is to empower, uplift, and inspire women to achieve self-actualization, self-respect, and self-love. I want the listeners to feel like they’re at one of my legendary raucous dinner parties with my dopeass crew or sitting quietly on my sofa drinking tea with me.”

"Sophia Chang is an icon and has always been on the cutting edge of culture,” said Hunter. "She also has a deep love for people and wants to share her knowledge and wisdom to make the world a little bit better — which is the hallmark of what a bad B is! We are excited that she is joining the Women’s Empowerment Network. Our mission is to burst through the noise and be that voice of truth that you can trust. Sophia is that and more.”

Beyond her groundbreaking music career, Chang founded Unlock Her Potential, a non-profit providing free mentorship for women of color and serves as Executive Director of ImpactMENtorship, a mentorship initiative for men of color founded by Joey Bada$$. Her bestsellng memoir, The Baddest Bitch in the Room, chronicled her extraordinary journey and she is currently writing a book about dating, sex, and pleasure for women.

Launched in December 2024, SiriusXM’s Women’s Empowerment Network is executive produced by Karen Hunter and features original programming focused on uplifting and empowering audiences through conversations about personal growth, careers, culture and more. Chang’s new podcast builds on the network’s mission of amplifying distinctive voices and inspiring listeners to live their fullest lives.

The first episode of The Baddest Bitch in the Room is available today, with new episodes released regularly on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. ET. The official trailer can be heard here. Subscribers can also tune in to SiriusXM Urban View (channel 126) every Sunday at 11 a.m. ET for a preview of featured WEN podcasts.
