Navigating Health Information Overload

TRANSCRIPT:

DOUG: This year marks the 25th year of the Edelman Trust Barometer, but it’s also the fifth anniversary of the trust and health portion of that report. One of the people who’s the driving force behind it is joining me. Saramaya, what was one of the things that surprised you the most about the report?

SARAMAYA: Thanks, Doug, for having me. This year’s fifth annual Trust and Health Special Report from Edelman, we immediately were very surprised at one of the key findings, which was that 70% globally among our 16 countries and 16,000 respondents that 70% found at least one device of health claim to be true. This showed us that the divisiveness in health beliefs is not among the fringe population or fringe groups that many of us may often think or feel, and that it is actually very pervasive. And that was quite startling to us. And we saw that among age, we saw that among gender, and we saw that among education level as well for university or non-university.

DOUG: So, just to clarify for the audience, because I’m a believer that vaccines are a good thing, you didn’t consider that a divisive belief. It’s more of those who are on the other side of the more recent types of controversies. Can you talk a little bit about some of those subjects, examples of what you considered a divisive belief?

SARAMAYA: Absolutely. Our report really didn’t attempt to state whether popular claims or unpopular claims from a healthcare perspective were true or not, but what we really looked at was where the divisiveness perspective may exist on a spectrum. And so, some of those examples included if animal protein is healthier than plant-based protein or if childhood vaccinations are helpful or harmful, we looked at if acetaminophen during pregnancy would lead to autism or not. And so really looked across the 16 countries of where those perspectives are. And again, not trying to say you’re right, you’re wrong, you’re confused, or you’re confident, but really just assessing. And we saw that at least 70% believed in at least two or more of the six health claims that we assessed.

DOUG: I assume if you believe in stuff that would be highly questioned by seasoned medical experts, you might be less healthy in your life, but the people who did respond that they believed some of these newer claims, if you will describe themselves as healthy or pretty healthy compared to the other population. What’s behind that?

SARAMAYA: This year in particular, we saw over a ten point drop compared to the 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer Special Report: Trust and Health in confidence to make health decisions. So, the confidence to make a decision plummeted and continues to decline. Even if you feel healthy or characterize yourself as healthy and engaged in your health, you’re very at a loss of how to make those decisions. And so, we are seeing that the trust in various different groups, they’re listening to a lot of voices, whether they believe in two or more of the divisive claims or not, but especially that audience, that 70%. And so, they’re trusting a lot of different voices. They’re searching actively through AI, traditional search, social, friends and family, and their healthcare provider who is actually most trusted among all of those groups. They’re reading different types of news sources. They’re very educated and active in information, but what that is causing is information overload and huge abundance of content. And so, where that’s leaning is they’re not sure what to believe or what not. And it’s leaning towards this divisiveness of I’m not sure how to make a health decision, but I’m still feeling good, seeking out that information, finding these voices, and that there’s just widespread confusion that continues to happen. And it is even among any group, regardless of age, demographic, or education level.

DOUG: Yeah. So, if we put aside the possible societal impact of all of that for PR people, it would probably be a pretty good opportunity, because there’s a real need for those who are in the space to get that accurate information out and get their messages out. So, how do you approach it in this divisive environment of conflicting ideas about things that previously were accepted?

SARAMAYA: Great question Doug. I think there’s been so much shift in getting the story out to now opening up a conversation. And now for healthcare communicators in particular, and for providers, different types of community leaders, policymakers, and any of these voices, media included, it cannot be here’s what you should do. Here are the facts. Let me make it clear to you, audience. It has to be a conversation. It has to be guiding decision, not telling me what to decide. As soon as you tell me what to decide, I’m not listening. You know, it’s like a classic teenager, right? Don’t tell me what to do. I’m going to do the opposite.

DOUG: While you rip into teenagers. I think there might be people of all ages who show some of those same traits. Let’s not go after the teenagers on this one, but I would like to turn to another topic that’s affecting healthcare and actually phrase it in a way similar to the way you did the survey, instead of what about the horrors of AI? AI is a good thing. It’s a not good thing. It’s getting right information to people quicker. It might also be getting wrong information to them quicker, but we’re not passing judgment on what people believe. So, knowing that AI is out there, how important is it for organizations and their PR programs to be looking to be showing up in these large language models?

SARAMAYA: Yeah, I mean, we see that LLMs are going to contain an increasing amount of earned driven search, right? Earned driven content and GEO is going to it’s already changing what we’re seeing, experiencing, and counseling in our 2026 Trust and Health Special Report, we saw over 64% believe that fluent AI users, self-defined as fluency, believe that they can perform a basic medical procedure as well as a doctor, which is pretty alarming. I would not want someone doing a quick ChatGPT of how to give me stitches, an incision, or any other type of basic procedure, but the reason that there is such an alarming confidence in that is because of the access of information, and that when I turned to AI, it’s non-judgmental, it’s easy to understand. It’s giving me a follow up, a type of dialogue in that way. And so, as we continue to think about channel evolution and where AI comes into play for public relations professionals, we have to think about the audience even more, right? And that what they can use is easy to understand. It’s having a dialogue. Last year’s report, we saw an abundance of empathy really rise to audience demand. And now it’s not just empathy. It’s guiding with the nonjudgmental conversation, the guiding to decision, rather than just telling me what to do.

DOUG: It’s so interesting that doctors were the most trusted group. Even with all this divisiveness and doctors saying one thing, that you’ve got 70% of the people disagreeing with it. What’s the role of both utilizing doctors and communications and sort of all the changes that have so many doctors overwhelmed where they can’t really spend the time with the patients? How is that playing into the way you’re advising and counseling clients?

SARAMAYA: I felt a bit of relief when we saw that doctors were still the most trusted, because it felt to me that scientific validation is still there as an undertone for patients and communities, but just because it’s most trusted, it’s not always the first to follow that advice, to listen and do exactly what the doctor said. Because patients are walking into the doctor’s office already very informed, because they’ve gone to all of these different types of channels, voices, AI, and in-person with friends and family. And so, while doctors are most trusted about health decisions, what to do? I think that it means that doctors have to be sure they’re not only showing up as a doctor. Take a page from the AI playbook. Be sure that you are showing the empathy that you’re showing, the easy to understand and the conversational and accessible type of demeanor with patients, but know that they’re still turning to you and they’re still looking at you. And so, I think between doctors, scientists and some of these voices, credentialed or non-credentialed because there’s also creators and different types of voices, it’s ensuring that we stay consistent in what the message is first and foremost. And that you’re not telling someone what to do, you’re really brokering the conversation.

DOUG: Yeah, that’s a fascinating shift. And thank you so much for putting this report together. Any final thoughts before we wrap up?

SARAMAYA: Every year some of the information can feel like a downer because the world is a bit chaotic. And I think where I found hope and motivation as a communicator this year was thinking about audiences feeling empowered and excited about healthcare. And even if it’s chaotic and that working together within communities over a shared outcome, a shared goal. We can all agree that we all want to have clean water. How we get there may be different how I view it or you view it or you know, some other group, but really coming together for shared outcomes and shared goals, I think, is what society can benefit a lot of right now. And so, our 2026 Trust and Health Special Report from Edelman gave me a newfound motivation in that as well.

DOUG: Clearly, healthcare consumers are engaged, and hopefully the PR audience will be engaged in the great stuff, you would say. Thanks so much for being with us.

SARAMAYA: Thanks Doug for having me.

Autonomous DLP for modern environments

MIND® brings posture and prevention together in one powerful, AI-native, autonomous data loss prevention (DLP) platform. Built to outpace modern risk in this AI era by replacing patchwork tools and slow, manual triage with machine speed data security. Now you can have intelligent protection that adapts, acts and scales with you.

See MIND in action

Find sensitive data, fix data risks and stop data leaks

The current state of data security isn't working

Most data security tools were built for yesterday’s environments and force teams to rely on static policies, manual effort and blunt detection. As unstructured data explodes to 90% of everything created and GenAI apps are used by your employees, these tools fall behind and security teams remain overwhelmed.

The result? Companies suffer over 4 known data loss last events per year, most of which they didn’t see coming.

Sensitive data is scattered across SaaS, endpoints and emails, but security teams can’t easily find what matters

Sensitive files remain unlabeled because classification is slow, manual or nonexistent

Too many false positives and alert noise with no context to help triage and prioritize

Data exposure issues are a struggle to remediate due to manual work and complex handoffs

Static rules and brittle logic keep data security policies misaligned with actual business risk

When preventative controls finally act, they break workflows, disrupt the business and get turned off

Discovery and classification

To protect your data, you need to know where it is and what it means. MIND continuously and autonomously discovers and classifies unstructured data across your SaaS and GenAI apps, on-premise file shares, endpoints and emails, surfacing hidden risks in minutes.

MIND AI, our multi-layered classification engine, uses multiple proprietary AI models to understand your unique data to provide the most accurate data classification in the industry.

Detection and response

MIND autonomously analyzes billions of security signals and user behaviors, cutting through the noise to surface what actually matters. Each incident, whether related to exposure, exfiltration or insider threat, is scored by risk severity and enriched with deep context.

MIND then automates the next step: revoking access, deleting files, changing labels, alerting owners or engaging users, all with a full audit trail.

Policy management & prevention

Prevention should be proactive, not punitive. MIND automates both policy creation and enforcement, applying the right rules, in the right context, to the right data. These policies work seamlessly across data at rest and in motion, minimizing risk without disrupting the business.

MIND observes endpoint and user behavior and triggers smart, context-aware responses like block, coach or escalate, especially to secure the use of GenAI apps. Speed bumps guide users. Automation does the rest.

Secure data at rest and protect data in motion

MIND automates the full lifecycle of data security, from discovery to prevention, with minimal user input. It enforces real-time policies for data at rest and in motion that adapt to context and risk, stopping data leaks and reducing the need for manual intervention.

Data at rest

Classify unstructured files across all environments

Understand access, usage and business relevance

Prioritize data security issues based on real risk

Remediate early, before issues become incidents

Apply consistent policies that adapt to your business

Data in motion

Monitor data as it moves across apps, devices and users

Detect risky behavior in real time with full context

Enforce policies instantly to block, coach or monitor actions

Collaborate with users to resolve issues in the flow of work

Automate decisions and responses to minimize disruption

Discover and classify sensitive data wherever it lives

Gain a complete inventory of your data, users and activities across the business. Now you can see the content and context of your sensitive data and drastically reduce false positive alerts.

Sensitive data is everywhere

Sensitive data hides across SaaS apps, on-premise file shares, endpoints and email systems, making it hard to spot.

Many data security tools only focus on narrow areas, which leads to silos and leaves dangerous gaps where risks can grow.

Legacy RegEx, pattern matching and user tagging miss the full picture, causing incomplete views and excessive false positive alerts.

Each business has unique sensitive data that goes beyond common things like credit card or social security numbers.

Discover sensitive data with context

MIND continuously uncovers all of your data, users and activities across SaaS, on‑premise file shares, endpoints and emails. We shine light on blindspots for data at rest, delivering visibility and context that conventional DLP can’t match.

Deploy in minutes, see value fast

Cloud‑native MIND connects to your existing systems in minutes. You’ll get a living data catalog of resources, users, authorization, file activities and metadata so you have the clarity to assess and act on risk right away.

Multi‑layer AI classification engine

Go beyond pattern matching. MIND AI uses hundreds of tailored algorithms to accurately categorize file types. From agreements and source code to medical records and board minutes, MIND classifies the sensitive elements inside files, so you can trust your data catalog.

Precision classification at scale

MIND supports all the different file types across your organization, from images to archives, so nothing slips through the cracks. Every file is automatically classified with tags and user-based labels that fit your needs, saving you time and reducing frustration.

See the business meaning behind the data

MIND doesn’t just show you where sensitive data lives, it helps you understand its context and business significance. That insight powers smarter policies, stronger compliance and faster response.

MIND Receives Frost & Sullivan’s 2026 Global New Product Innovation Recognition for AI-Native Data Loss Prevention Leadership

Recognized for innovation in data loss prevention, MIND advances AI security and modern data protection to drive customer success and market leadership.

San Antonio, TX — March 11, 2026 — Frost & Sullivan is pleased to announce that MIND, the first-ever data security platform to enable stress-free Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Insider Risk Management (IRM) programs, has been awarded the 2026 Global New Product Innovation Recognition in the DLP industry for its outstanding achievements in innovation, strategy execution, and customer impact. This recognition highlights MIND’s consistent leadership in driving measurable outcomes, strengthening its market position, and delivering customer-centric innovation in an evolving competitive landscape shaped by SaaS, hybrid work, Generative AI (GenAI), and agentic AI.

Frost & Sullivan evaluates companies through a rigorous benchmarking process across two core dimensions: strategy effectiveness and strategy execution. MIND excelled in both, demonstrating its ability to align strategic initiatives with market demand while executing them with efficiency, consistency, and scale. “For GenAI-related risks, MIND introduced new controls after observing that many enterprises allow employees to use GenAI tools to process sensitive data. As a result, MIND designed its policy management and enforcement to identify sensitive data exposure within GenAI workflows, provide visibility into user activity involving GenAI tools, enforce access to enterprise-approved GenAI applications only, and prevent sensitive data from being entered into prompts. These additions demonstrate how closely MIND aligns its roadmap with customer pain points, further reinforcing its reputation for rapid capability development,” said Daphne Dwiputriane, Research Analyst, Frost & Sullivan.

Guided by a long-term growth strategy focused on AI-native innovation, customer-centric product development, and strategic engagement with CISOs and design partners, MIND has shown its ability to adapt and lead in a rapidly evolving data security landscape. The company’s strategic agility and sustained investment in advanced data classification, endpoint protection, and GenAI risk mitigation have enabled it to scale effectively across global enterprise and mid-market segments.

Innovation remains central to MIND’s approach. Founded in 2023 and headquartered in Seattle, MIND was established to address persistent shortcomings in legacy DLP tools - namely alert fatigue, high false-positive rates, high resource intensity, and limited visibility into unstructured data across perimeter-less environments. Its unified data security platform integrates DLP and insider risk management (IRM) within a single architecture, ensuring that discovery, detection, and prevention decisions are powered by the same AI-driven classification layer.

At the core of the platform is MIND AI, a multilayered classification engine that combines standard techniques such as exact data matching (EDM), regular expression (RegEx) pattern matching, named entity recognition (NER), and optical character recognition (OCR) with proprietary statistical and predictive methods alongside more advanced methodologies like vector similarity, small language models (SLMs), and large language models (LLMs). This AI-native approach enables enterprises to accurately classify both known and novel sensitive data types, significantly reducing false positives while maintaining continuous protection across SaaS applications, endpoints, on-premise file shares, and email systems.

MIND’s recent endpoint innovations and GenAI-specific controls further demonstrate its commitment to modern data protection. The platform provides visibility into AI agents operating within SaaS environments, protects data used in locally installed applications and AI agents, prevents exfiltration to external devices, and tracks full data lineage. These capabilities empower security teams to manage data security risks holistically while reducing operational strain.

“The AI era is transforming how organizations create, move, and use data. That shift requires a fundamentally different approach to data protection,” said Eran Barak, Co-Founder and CEO at MIND. “At MIND, our goal has always been to help security teams move beyond reactive controls and toward intelligent, automated protection that keeps pace with modern environments. We are proud to receive this recognition from Frost & Sullivan and remain focused on helping organizations protect what matters most while enabling innovation.”

MIND’s unwavering commitment to customer experience further strengthens its position in the market. Its lightweight architecture enables rapid time-to-value, minimizing fine-tuning and reducing total cost of ownership. Customers report significantly lower alert volumes, near-zero false positives in certain deployments, and up to 80% reductions in time spent managing DLP programs. By consolidating DLP, IRM, endpoint protection,GenAI and agentic AI controls into a single platform, MIND helps enterprises streamline operations while enhancing data security resilience.

Frost & Sullivan commends MIND for setting a high standard in competitive strategy, execution, and market responsiveness. The company’s vision, innovation pipeline, and customer-first culture are shaping the future of Data Loss Prevention and driving tangible results at scale.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents the New Product Innovation to a company that demonstrates outstanding strategy development and implementation, resulting in measurable improvements in market share, customer satisfaction, and competitive positioning. It recognizes forward-thinking organizations that are reshaping their industries through innovation and growth excellence.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Recognition

Frost & Sullivan’s Best Practices Recognitions honor companies across regional and global markets that exhibit exceptional achievement and consistent excellence in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer experience, and strategic product development. Each recognition is the result of a rigorous analytical process in which Frost & Sullivan industry experts benchmark performance through comprehensive interviews, deep-dive analysis, and extensive secondary research. The goal is to identify true best-in-class organizations that are driving transformative growth and setting new industry standards.

Remediate data security issues before they become incidents

Remediation shouldn't be slow or stressful. With MIND®, you can detect, prioritize and resolve data security issues automatically without complexity.

The cost of broken remediation processes

Traditional DLP struggles to identify and remediate data exposure risks fast enough. Security teams constantly react to sensitive files shared improperly—externally or with anyone via link. Investigating each incident and manually fixing access wastes time, creates alert fatigue and drains resources better spent elsewhere.

Without an automated process, the manual steps to remediate exposures limit data security.

Sensitive data shared too broadly creates exposure risk and compliance gaps

Manual fixes delay response time and increase the risk of human error

Teams burn out chasing false positives and repetitive access reviews

Manual processes can’t keep up with the volume or urgency of today’s data

Streamlined remediation without the stress

Why this matters

Today’s security leaders are searching for ways to streamline data remediation. Why? Because traditional DLP tools generate too many false positives, rely on manual workflows and fail to prevent data leaks in real-time.

The stakes are high. Unclassified data, unprioritized alerts and unresolved risks cost time, trust and revenue.

Organizations face alert fatigue, a lack of visibility and outdated remediation workflows. Security teams waste hours chasing irrelevant data leak alerts instead of preventing actual risks. That's why companies today must have ways to automate data leak response, reduce false positives in DLP and employ real-time data remediation.

MIND is the context-aware, AI-powered solution for modern DLP and insider threat response. It brings clarity to chaos by automatically identifying and classifying risky data, then triggering smart, prioritized actions, all at machine speed. Whether your challenge is sensitive data in GenAI tools, SaaS apps or endpoints, MIND ensures data security doesn’t hold you back.

MIND helps you:

Streamline data remediation workflows

Automatically remediate sensitive data exposure

Prioritize data remediation based on risk

Reduce false positives in DLP

Prevent data leaks in real-time

Remediate smarter. Mind what matters.

MODE Global Collaborates with HappyRobot to Automate Critical Operations

DALLAS, TEXAS (February 9, 2026) – MODE Global, one of the nation’s largest non-asset logistics providers, and HappyRobot, AI-native logistics startup, announce a strategic collaboration to automate core freight operations, beginning with inbound carrier coverage and progressing to booking and tracking. The partnership brings together MODE’s scale and operational expertise with HappyRobot’s AI workforce and orchestration to improve speed-to-cover, reduce manual work and strengthen carrier experience across MODE’s network.

Leveraging Early Wins for Expansion

The partnership began by automating a critical, high-volume workflow – Inbound Carrier Sales – to gauge impact. Early success here across carrier vetting, lane pitching and negotiations set the foundation for the partnership to follow.

These early signs of success included increased speed to cover with first response times cut to zero and 100% answer rates. Carrier vetting, combining third-party integrations with proprietary classifications, ensures intense scrutiny on fraud detection. And finally, lane negotiations show foundations for improved margins.

Beyond this, the partnership was established on shared principles for new ways of working in the era of AI, and the collaboration required between operational leaders like MODE and technologists like HappyRobot to get there.

“Our collaboration with MODE Global has been incredibly insightful and rewarding. We’re proud to partner with a truly forward-thinking organization,” said HappyRobot CEO Pablo Palafox. “I’m excited for what we’ll build together in 2026 and beyond.”

Scaling Partnership Towards Further Autonomy

The next phases of partnership include robustifying existing workflows, expanding automation across all offices and deploying priority workflows such as outbound carrier sales and track and trace.

Perfecting inbound carrier sales means tighter integrations post proof of concept, which allow for more real-time data flow and expanded execution capabilities for AI workers to take on further autonomy, building on the trust gained during testing.

The two companies remain aligned on enabling the MODE team to do more, book more and double down on difference makers like customer relationships, exception handling and strategic decision making. In each workflow, AI autonomy covers standard flows, leaving more human time to solve the most critical challenges at hand.

A New Way of Operating

“We selected HappyRobot as a partner because of their robust technology, deep industry knowledge and engineering teams that accelerated our speed to value and unlocked untapped potential for our operations,” said MODE Global’s President and CEO, Lance Malesh.

Operating as an extension of the MODE Global team, HappyRobot is working side by side with technical and operations teams to deliver value fast while satisfying technical and compliance requirements.

This close collaboration allows the teams to iterate quickly toward a new operational model for MODE Global, where a comprehensive digital workforce ensures operations are executed efficiently at scale and leverages real-time data to provide strategic insight to their human counterparts.

With AI automating manual work and providing greater access to information and insight, the MODE team is able to double down on what makes them different.
