Queen of Haunts reveals why Edge of Hell and Beast Haunted Attractions keep generations coming back for more

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Something slithers in the darkness. A strange odor hangs in the air. Footsteps echo behind you, but when you turn around, no one is there.

Your eyes see shadows. Your ears search for answers. Your brain asks one question: Am I safe?

Welcome to the psychology of fear, where your senses can become your own worst enemies.

"Fear isn't created by one monster jumping from the darkness," says Amber Arnett-Bequeaith, nationally known as the Queen of Haunts and a spokesperson for the haunted-attraction industry. "The real magic happens before you ever see the monster. What do you hear? What do you smell? What does the floor feel like? And what might be waiting around the next corner?"

Arnett-Bequeaith works with Kansas City's legendary Edge of Hell and Beast Haunted Attraction, two Full Moon Productions attractions with distinct approaches to terror. Edge of Hell confronts guests with phobias, while Beast is often named among the nation's best for its immersive environments and open-format design.

YOUR SENSES ARE IN ON IT

Sight may set the scene, but sound, smell, and touch make a haunt more immersive. A scream from somewhere unseen builds anticipation. A damp, musty odor suggests something has been lurking for years. An unfamiliar texture or dark passage gives the imagination room to run wild.

Smell has particularly strong connections to brain systems involved in emotion and memory. Combined with visual and auditory cues, it helps create an environment that feels convincing enough to trigger an instinctive response.

That's the artistry of a great haunt: using multiple senses to make an imaginary world feel immediate.

EDGE OF HELL: FACE YOUR FEARS

Opening in 1975, Kansas City's Edge of Hell is billed as the oldest continuously operating haunted attraction in the United States. Its staying power comes from a timeless source of terror: phobias.

Guests travel through a symbolic journey involving life's fears and choices, encountering dark passages, caves, crypts, snakes, rats, and the infamous Rat Man.

Living creatures can add another dimension. A prop snake follows a script. A living snake brings unpredictability, making even the bravest guest think twice about getting close. For people with phobias, the reaction can be immediate.

Edge of Hell also tells a larger story about where our choices lead. The journey offers a glimpse of heaven before sending guests back down toward hell.

It's theatrical storytelling with a devilish twist, thrilling generations for more than 50 years.

BEAST HAUNTED ATTRACTION: GET LOST. REALLY.

If Edge of Hell confronts specific fears, Beast Haunted Attraction turns getting lost into part of the adventure.

Opening in Kansas City in 1991, Beast is known for expansive environments, elaborate storytelling, and its distinctive open-format design. Guests encounter frightening worlds drawn from folklore and history, including a medieval castle, Jack the Ripper's fog-shrouded London, and the Werewolf Forest.

Its open format makes guests active participants. Rather than simply following a prescribed corridor, they must navigate spaces and decide where to go.

Which way leads out? Have you been here before? Where did your group go?

The challenge is part of the fun. Guests must find their way through an environment where the next turn may bring a discovery, a scare, or another wrong turn.

Beast doesn't simply show guests frightening things. It puts them inside the story, making the journey itself part of the experience.

WHY WE LOVE BEING SCARED

There's a big difference between real danger and recreational fear. Visitors choose to enter a haunted attraction knowing the monsters are part of the entertainment. When a scare passes, tension gives way to laughter, storytelling, and friendly teasing about who screamed loudest.

The shared experience matters, too. Friends clutch each other, groups react together, and the most memorable moments often become stories retold long after the season ends.

"Technology has changed tremendously, but human fear hasn't," says Arnett-Bequeaith. "We still fear what we can't see, what we can't control, and what might be waiting for us in the dark. The fun comes from facing those fears together, knowing we're there for the experience."

That's the enduring appeal of Edge of Hell and Beast Haunted Attraction. One draws on phobias and a journey between heaven and hell; the other immerses guests in elaborate worlds where finding the way forward is part of the challenge.

Both prove that a memorable scare takes more than a monster in a mask. It takes imagination, theatrical skill, and a keen understanding of what makes people tick.

So the next time something moves just beyond your field of vision, keep moving. Your senses may be working overtime, but you're there for the thrill.

You know it's not real. You're just hoping the next turn doesn't prove you wrong.

Florida's Natural Pays Up, Delivers Truckload of Orange Juice to Milwaukee After Championship Bet with Johnsonville

More than 12,000 cartons will be distributed throughout Milwaukee during Friday's city-wide celebration, with product also headed to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis., Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Wisconsin gets the bragging rights, and Florida is sending the juice. Following Milwaukee's Game 5 victory in Tampa, Florida's Natural is making good on its baseball bet with Johnsonville, shipping more than 20 pallets of orange juice to Wisconsin. In local terms, that's approximately 200 kegs of orange juice.

A portion of the victory OJ will be on display Friday outside of the Italian Community Center, alongside Milwaukee's celebratory parade route. Fans can snag product and snap photos as the city rallies together to commemorate the historic win, sharing images on social media with the hashtag #SausageVsOJ. Additional cases will be hand-delivered to local establishments to fuel signature drinks and special toasts, as Johnsonville and Florida's Natural representatives canvass the Third Ward to distribute cartons to fans. The wager will also deliver a little extra good to the community, with multiple pallets of orange juice headed to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, the state's largest hunger-relief organization.

"Florida's Natural came through in a big way, and its mission of spreading goodness is fitting," said Jamie Schmelzer, Vice President of Marketing at Johnsonville. "We've never received thousands of cartons of orange juice at once before, and we're excited to get the juice directly into the hands of fans. No doubt a lot of that OJ is destined for mimosas and beermosas, but we're thrilled that this payout is also giving back to families across the region. The juice was worth the squeeze, and our Head of Supply Chain is breathing a big sigh of relief right now."

The friendly wager, struck just last Friday, put 413,554 Johnsonville brats on the line â one for every resident of Tampa â if Milwaukee came out on top. With Milwaukee clinching the win Wednesday evening, Florida's Natural stepped up to deliver a taste of the Sunshine State to Wisconsin, getting a semitruck on the road in just hours.

"We were looking forward to those brats, but since we have to pay up, we might as well make it juicy," said Kelly Wade, Director of Marketing at Florida's Natural. "We're happy to be here to add a little Florida goodness to the festivities, and a dose of Vitamin C as well! It's great to see this friendly rivalry play out with Wisconsin fans and families during a time they will remember for years to come. Congratulations!"

Follow along on Instagram as the fun unfolds on Friday with the hashtag #SausageVsOJ and on the brand's channels: @floridasnatural and @johnsonville.

Keith, who has led the Canadian business as Canadian Operations President, takes on an expanded scope in this new role, leading Master's commercial strategy and performance across Canada and the United States. He will be accountable for customer growth and commercial effectiveness in both countries, and for setting the direction, governance, standards and capabilities that support sustainable growth and closer alignment across borders, while keeping Master responsive to local markets.

Keith will also lead the design of Master's North American commercial operating model. Within that model, commercial leaders in Canada and the United States will execute market strategies, manage strategic accounts and drive business development in their respective countries.

"Keith understands our business, our customers and the importance of following through on what we promise," said Rémy Langelier, President of The Master Group. "In this role, he will help us build on our commercial strengths across North America and keep customer needs at the centre of our growth."

The appointment follows the recent appointment of Rémy Langelier as President of The Master Group, a role that spans the company overall. Both are new roles with an enlarged scope, and together they form part of Master's evolution toward a more connected North American company. That evolution builds on Master's long-standing relationships with customers and suppliers.

Keith joined Master in March 2020 as Regional Director for Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba and was appointed Senior Vice President, Distribution later that year. He subsequently became Canadian Operations President, helping strengthen execution, align teams and reinforce a customer-focused approach across the Canadian business.

Before joining Master, Keith spent 17 years with Wolseley Canada, where he held several senior leadership positions, including General Manager for Western Canada, and served on its Canadian Leadership Team. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Calgary and has completed executive education programs at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business and IMD Business School in Switzerland.

"I'm honoured to take on this role and grateful for the confidence the leadership team has placed in me," said Keith Strachan, Chief Commercial Officer, North America. "Across Canada and the United States, our teams bring real expertise and a deep sense of ownership to serving our customers, and I have enormous respect for the work they do every day. My focus is to build on that by giving our teams the support and tools to serve customers even better, combining the scale of a North American organization with the local market knowledge that has always set us apart."

NEO Battery Reports Fiscal Year 2027 Second Quarter Results
Image File
Original HTML

TORONTO, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- NEO Battery Materials Ltd. ("NEO" or the "Company") (TSXV: NBM) (OTC: NBMFF), a low-cost, silicon-enhanced battery manufacturer enabling high-performance capabilities for drones, robotics, and physical AI, today announced its financial and operational results for the second quarter ended August 31, 2026, and provided an update on its facility expansion, commercial pipeline, and growth initiatives. All amounts are in Canadian dollars unless otherwise specified.

"The second quarter marked a continued increase in our pipeline with qualified leads, and now, we are converting the pipeline into active customers," stated Spencer Huh, President & CEO of NEO. "Since reporting the first quarter, we received our first direct order from the Republic of Korea Army, our largest foundry contract to date from a Fortune 500 automotive OEM, and a development contract from a South Korean defense prime. Outside Korea, we have established direct inroads into Ukraine for battery development and are serving key U.S. battery and defense players that can potentially translate into concrete commercial contracts. Each came to NEO for the same two reasons: battery performance their current suppliers cannot deliver, and a secure, non-Chinese supply source. With certified products and validated manufacturing, our priority is scaling production to meet this demand. As we do so, we will continue to evaluate partnerships and other opportunities that strengthen our position as a secure, high-performance battery supplier to Western and allied customers."

FY2027 Q2 Financial and Recent Operational Highlights

- Revenue of $203,566 for the three months ended August 31, 2026, and revenue for the six months ended August 31, 2026, was $382,530.

- Gross loss of $807,492 for the quarter, and gross loss for the six months ended August 31, 2026, was $1,450,753. Margins continue to reflect early-stage commercial production and the scale-up phase for the cell manufacturing expansion facility, where volumes have not yet reached the level required to absorb the fixed cost base. The Company expects this gap to narrow as production volume increases.

- Cash balance of $2,062,498 as at August 31, 2026. The balance reflects the closing of the non-brokered LIFE Offering on August 14, 2026, for gross proceeds of $4,000,000 through the issuance of 20,000,000 units at $0.20 per unit, each comprising one common share and one warrant exercisable at $0.30 for 36 months. Cash was deployed primarily to finance equipment and infrastructure of the cell manufacturing expansion facility and operations.

- South Korean defense prime and tier-1 pack manufacturer: Won contract to develop and manufacture custom-built batteries for an undisclosed defense project, beginning with the A-sample phase and with a defined path to B-sample pilot orders and volume production upon successful evaluation.

- North American Fortune 500 automotive OEM: Recurring foundry orders translated into a purchase order agreement valued at approximately $392,000 (US$280,000), one of the largest contracts awarded to date within the Company's foundry portfolio, following several months of validation of NEO's manufacturing quality, efficiency, and cost competitiveness.

- Republic of Korea Army: First direct purchase order for military-grade drone battery packs from a division of the ROK Army for field validation and use, without a traditional procurement intermediary. NEO's products are being directly used in the Army's TIGER (Transformation of Infantry Generation via Enhanced Radios) program â an initiative to transition infantry units into an AI-enabled, network-centric, and highly mobile force.

- Major Korean defense drone manufacturer â Preneu: Initial order for a custom-developed 6Ah battery for field validation of the customer's upcoming strike drone line, designed to reduce weight and extend flight duration. Translated into a formal, strategic partnership to advance and supply Korea-made drone and battery solutions for industrial and defense applications.

- Leading Japanese drone manufacturer â Liberaware (TYO: 218A): Letter of intent to jointly optimize Liberaware's UAS platforms with NEO's battery technology and to evaluate a joint venture or special-purpose vehicle to establish drone battery manufacturing in Japan under the Japan Sovereign UAS Platform.

Sales Pipeline & Conversion

Since reporting the end of the first quarter, the Company's qualified pipeline for product development and manufacturing has grown from more than 15 leads to more than 50 leads across drone/unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), robotics, defense, automotive, energy storage, and next-generation battery applications. For qualified leads, there is no assurance of definitive orders, and NEO will provide updates as contracts are secured.

- Pipeline Conversion: More than 10 leads have converted into active customers, and more than 20 different product units and samples have been confirmed for production or have been produced and delivered for evaluation. Customers are primarily South Korean dual-use drone manufacturers and US-based battery developers and manufacturers.

- Commercial-Volume Contract Manufacturing: NEO is currently in discussions for high-volume contract manufacturing orders for NDAA-compliant batteries for defense drone applications with US battery and defense value chain companies. The contemplated volumes are expected to occupy most of the capacity of the cell manufacturing expansion facility based on the indicated demand from the end-use customer. There is no assurance that these discussions will convert into definitive contracts, and the Company will provide status updates.

- Ukraine Drone Market: Direct engagement with Ukrainian drone and battery companies and frontline divisions has been initiated for custom development and battlefield integration of high-performance drone batteries. Cell development requests include tactical loitering munitions and ISR drones, heavy-duty cargo/bombing drones, and various pouch packs that require replacement for China-based supply. The Company expects to ship first samples into Ukraine for evaluation within the next month.

- Recurring & Increasing Foundry Contracts: Due to the Company's high standards of manufacturing quality and agile response framework, recurring foundry contracts are growing in value with new project additions and increased processing requests, and larger organizations such as the Korean defense prime customer are requesting NEO's expertise on cell development and manufacturing.

- Increased US Demand from Custom Battery Engineering: NEO's diverse engineering experience with various chemistries has allowed customer program additions in high-to-100% silicon anode, lithium-metal, specialty electrolyte, and sodium-ion chemistries. The Company is currently servicing major venture capital-backed, U.S. battery developers as part of this pipeline.

- Two requirements/demands recur across engagements: improved cell and pack performance within the constraints of customers' existing systems, and access to a reliable supply source outside adversarial jurisdictions. 21700 cylindrical format procurement, in particular, has been constrained by heavy consumption from drone warfare, and the Company is opening 21700 capacity for foundry services to U.S. and NATO-aligned defense and battery companies requiring NDAA compliance or similar regulatory limitations.

Pouch & Cylindrical Cell Assembly Expansion Facility

The Company's cell expansion manufacturing facility, on a 3.2-acre site adjacent to its first factory in South Korea, is being completed in phases to remove manufacturing bottlenecks and fulfill the anticipated higher-volume orders for both proprietary products and contract manufacturing.

- Pouch Assembly Update: Construction for the electrical capacity upgrade and dry room infrastructure at the Main Industrial Warehouse is underway, with the pouch de-gassing and end-of-line inspection equipment installed and tested. Concurrent with the build-out, the installed equipment will be utilized to resolve current process bottlenecks at the first factory.

- Cylindrical Assembly Update: Certain pilot equipment have been delivered and installed for the tabless-architecture 21700 cells. All equipment is expected to be delivered by mid-November, with full commissioning by the end of calendar 2026. The initial target capacity is approximately 10,000 to 18,000 cells per month, producing both energy- or power-focused variants.

- Capacity Roadmap: Phase 1 of pouch cell manufacturing targets approximately 50 to over 75MWh (megawatt-hours), equating to 1 to 2 million cells per year depending on the format/capacity. For a 10 to 15Ah (amp-hour) pouch-format cell, average selling prices to date range from approximately $15 USD to $40 USD, depending on performance, materials, processing, and yields. For larger-volume production of over 250MWh to the GWh scale, NEO intends to pursue a joint venture or manufacturing partnership with US battery and defense value chain players to localize production in North America.

- Near-Term Throughput: Due to the higher volume of drone battery and contract manufacturing requests from customers and leads, the Company has added working shifts at the first factory and intends to maximize the working shifts and production schedule until the full commissioning of the expansion facility.

"We are steadily proving out our foundry capability with tier-1 customers while expanding capacity to service contract manufacturing demand in the coming year. Our flexible manufacturing model has broadened the pipeline across applications and chemistries, and our objective is to convert sample evaluations into larger, long-term orders. The expansion facility is what allows us to fulfill them.

HDR by Barco comes home as Barco sets plans for first HDR by Barco theater in Belgium in partnership with Kinepolis

The technology company's fast-growing premium cinema format has existing locations in the U.S., U.K., Germany, India, Italy, and the Netherlands.

KORTRIJK, Belgium, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Barco, a global leader in laser cinema projection, today announced plans to bring HDR by Barco, its groundbreaking premium cinema format, to Belgium for the first time. The new auditorium is set to open in Kinepolis Kortrijk, steps from Barco's headquarters. The news comes as Barco continues the rapid expansion of HDR by Barco across the U.S. and European markets, including most recently with three new sites in Germany.

Construction is underway, with the new auditorium set to officially open on November 18. The long-awaited commercial debut of HDR by Barco in Belgium gives audiences in the company's hometown a chance to experience one of cinema's most talked about innovations.

First introduced to moviegoers in the fall of 2024, the premium format has enjoyed rapid deployment across major film markets following its commercial debut in early 2025.

"Bringing HDR by Barco to Belgium â and to Kortrijk in particular â makes this especially meaningful for us," said Carl Rijsbrack, Barco Cinema Senior VP of Strategy and Product. "We developed this technology out of our ambition to take the cinema experience to the next level. HDR by Barco is now making its way into cinemas around the world. Being able to bring this experience to Belgian audiences together with Kinepolis marks another milestone for us."

The upgraded screen at Kinepolis will feature premium HDR by Barco presentation, immersive audio, and premium seating; delivering an elevated experience for moviegoers.

Said Nicolas Hamon, Head of Projection and Sound at Kinepolis Group,

"At Kinepolis, innovation serves one purpose: delivering the best possible cinema experience to our customers. HDR by Barco allows us to showcase more detail, colour and contrast on screen, allowing us to do even greater justice to filmmakers' creative vision and deliver an exceptional viewing experience."

Today's announcement builds on the longstanding relationship between Barco and Kinepolis which dates back to the former's foray into digital cinema. Kinepolis was also a trailblazer in the adoption of laser projection for cinema, leveraging Barco's technology to power their premium brand, Laser ULTRA in 2014. Now the companies are once again setting a new bar for exceptional cinema quality in Belgium.

"HDR by Barco was invented here, so bringing it home to Kortrijk with Kinepolis closes a circle for us," said Gerwin Damberg, EVP of Barco Cinema. "Every HDR by Barco title is a dedicated version of the film, graded and signed off by the original creative team. You won't see that version on a standard screen. Lightsteering puts light exactly where the story needs it, with no extra power: better pixels, not more pixels. Exhibitors across Europe are reinvesting in premium cinema, and this is what makes the premium seat worth it. It's just you and the movie, nothing in between."

Based on the company's patented Lightsteering technology, Barco's approach to cinematic HDR produces images with highlights that are over 6x brighter than traditional projection, while retaining rich details in the darks for greater depth, clarity, and range. HDR by Barco delivers expansive creative possibilities for filmmakers, producing a wide color gamut with high-contrast images that captivate audiences.

Bravo Property Trust Offers Mezzanine Loans of $500,000 to $20 Million for Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Multifamily and Build-to-Rent Owners and Operators

Bravo Property Trust Offers Mezzanine Loans of $500,000 to $20 Million for Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, Multifamily and Build-to-Rent Owners and Operators

Mezzanine loans from $500,000 to $20 million, often closed alongside a Bravo bridge loan, give skilled nursing and assisted living operators more proceeds and one team from term sheet to closing

NEW YORK, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Bravo Property Trust, the direct lending affiliate of national HUD lender Bravo Capital, provides mezzanine loans of $500,000 to $20 million, with terms of up to 36 months, to owners and operators of skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, multifamily properties and build-to-rent communities nationwide. A mezzanine loan is secured by a pledge of the ownership interests in the property-owning entity rather than by a mortgage, and it fills the gap between the senior loan and the sponsor's equity, so owners can buy, recapitalize or reposition properties with less cash in the deal.

Healthcare is a core focus. Skilled nursing and assisted living operators often need extra capital to acquire a facility, fund improvements or carry the business plan until the property is ready for permanent financing. Bravo's mezzanine loans sit behind the senior loan to cover that gap, and Bravo's experience with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) healthcare financing helps operators plan the path to long-term debt.

Bravo's mezzanine loans range from $500,000 to $20 million, with terms of up to 36 months, interest only. Each loan is secured by a pledge of the ownership interests in the property-owning entity. Bravo often underwrites the mezzanine loan together with its own bridge financing, giving borrowers one team, one set of diligence and one closing.

"Owners today need lenders who can move quickly and size the whole capital stack, not just the first mortgage," said Aaron Krawitz, Founder and CEO of Bravo Capital and Bravo Property Trust.

Bravo's mezzanine financing is in active demand across the sectors the firm knows best. Senior care operators use it for extra capital behind the first loan while a facility's operations improve. Sponsors also use it to close acquisitions when senior proceeds fall short, to fund value-add plans while a property stabilizes, and to carry build-to-rent communities through lease-up. Because Bravo underwrites both the senior and mezzanine pieces in-house, it can quote and close both pieces on one timeline.
