Coming later this year, Apple Health app users will be able to conveniently and securely purchase and receive results of Quest's biomarker lab testing directly in the app

SECAUCUS, N.J., Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX) today announced that Apple Health app users in the United States1 will be able to conveniently purchase a tailored Quest laboratory test panel that includes over 50 biomarkers directly through the app on iPhone and iPad later this year. Apple first announced the upcoming update today at its September event.

"By embedding the Quest lab testing experience within the Apple Health app, we are making testing simpler, smarter and more available to people who want to connect biomarker and biometric insights to own their health," said Richard Adams, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Consumer, Quest Diagnostics. "This integration will help bridge the gap between clinical and consumer health and serve the growing interest in preventive health and wellness."

The Quest laboratory panel is designed to deliver preventive health insights and includes biomarkers for assessing cardiometabolic health and organ function. The panel also includes biometric readings that measure blood pressure, height, weight, and waist and hip circumferences, which may provide additional insights into metabolic health.

Users can purchase and schedule their blood draw and biometric readings at one of Quest's approximately 2,000 patient service centers in the United States for $119.

Shortly after testing, lab results will appear within the Apple Health app. Quest collaborates with third-party providers to review and approve all test orders and, at the user's request, discuss test results and next steps for no additional charge.

Chronic health conditions, such as heart disease and diabetes, affect as many as three in four American adults, yet can often be prevented if acted upon in early stages, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Biomarker laboratory testing can identify early, asymptomatic signals of several chronic conditions, empowering individuals to make behavioral changes to reduce disease risk.

Seismic Pharmaceuticals Commences Global Phase 3 Trial of Istaroxime in Patients With Cardiogenic Shock

Approximately 600 patients expected to be enrolled at clinical sites across the United States, Europe and South America

Global Phase 3 program, Rescue HF CS, builds upon four completed Phase 2 trials in which more than 340 patients received istaroxime

DURHAM, N.C., Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Seismic Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company dedicated to advancing novel treatments for heart failure, today announced the commencement of its global Phase 3 clinical trial evaluating Istaroxime in patients with cardiogenic shock. The trial, entitled Rescue HF CS, will recruit patients from around the globe and is designed to become the first ever drug approved to treat the life threatening condition of Cardiogenic Shock.

The approximately 600-patient study will be conducted at clinical sites across the United States, Europe and South America. The trial is designed to build upon the successful clinical results generated through four previously completed Phase 2 trials in which more than 340 patients received Istaroxime.

Cardiogenic shock is a life-threatening condition that occurs when the heart is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body's needs, resulting in inadequate blood flow and oxygen delivery to vital organs. It may occur as a complication of acute heart failure, a severe heart attack or other serious cardiac conditions. Despite advances in critical care and mechanical circulatory support, cardiogenic shock continues to be associated with high rates of complications and mortality, underscoring the urgent need for new therapeutic options. Furthermore, there are no currently FDA approved treatments for the condition.

Istaroxime is a novel, first-in-class therapy being developed to improve cardiac function and hemodynamic stability in patients with cardiogenic shock. Unlike conventional inotropic therapies, Istaroxime has a unique dual mechanism of action designed to improve both systolic contraction and diastolic relaxation.

"The commencement of this global Phase 3 trial represents an important milestone for Seismic Pharmaceuticals and for the development of Istaroxime," said Gad Cotter, CEO and Chairman of the Board. "Cardiogenic shock remains a life-threatening condition with a significant need for new treatment options. This study builds upon the clinical experience generated in more than 340 patients across four Phase 2 trials, and we look forward to working with investigators and clinical sites throughout the United States, Europe and South America to advance this program."

The Phase 3 trial, Rescue HF CS, is expected to enroll approximately 600 patients with cardiogenic shock. Additional information regarding the trial's design, eligibility criteria and participating clinical sites will be available at ClinicalTrials.gov and other applicable clinical-trial registries.

About Istaroxime

Istaroxime is a novel, first-in-class investigational therapy being developed for the treatment of cardiogenic shock and acute heart failure. Istaroxime is designed to improve cardiac function through a dual mechanism of action that increases myocardial contractility while supporting myocardial relaxation. More than 340 patients have received Istaroxime across four previously completed Phase 2 clinical trials.

About Seismic Pharmaceuticals

Seismic Pharmaceuticals is a biotechnology company dedicated to advancing novel treatments for heart failure. The company combines deep therapeutic expertise with a proven track record in acute heart failure drug development. - Total gross profit of $6.4 million improved the Company’s gross margin percentage 200 basis points versus the prior year quarter to 53% driven by the continued Platform mix shift.

- B2B ARR grew $2.0 million or 14.1% compared to the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025 resulting in $16.2 million of ARR. This included AI related ARR of $0.8 million which grew 125% sequentially from the third quarter of fiscal 2026.

- Net income of $666,000, or $0.02 per diluted share, compared to $2.4 million or $0.07 per diluted share. The prior year included a $1.1 million favorable adjustment for the finalization of the Scite earnout.

- Total revenue of $12.1 million, compared to $12.4 million in the prior year.

- Cash flow from operations of $1.8 million, compared to $2.3 million on the timing of working capital payments.

Fiscal Year 2026 Summary (compared to Fiscal 2025)

- Gross profit up 3.6% to $25.1 million. Total gross margin improved 260 basis points to 51.9% with the continued Platform mix shift as the main catalyst. Platforms revenue was 43% of total revenue compared to 39% in the prior year.

Two of the AI products, Scite MCP and Article Galaxy MCP, allow researchers to utilize the unique functionality of Scite and Article Galaxy inside ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, and any AI tools researchers already use. This is part of our strategy to support our users where they work and has resulted in us building a large pipeline of AI related revenue opportunities in FY27." said Roy W. Olivier, President and CEO of Research Solutions. "Platform revenue grew to 43% of total revenue, up from 39% in fiscal 2025. That mix shift expanded gross margin and helped us more than double net income for the full year in a challenging market. With a strong cash position and Adjusted EBITDA posture, we're well-positioned to continue investing in internally developed tools and to pursue strategic M&A that complements our current offerings.”

Fiscal Fourth Quarter 2026 Results

Total revenue was $12.1 million, compared to $12.4 million in the year-ago quarter, as increased platform revenue was more than offset by a decrease in transaction revenue.

Platform subscription revenue for the quarter was $5.3 million, compared to $5.2 million in the prior-year period. The increase was driven by a 14% increase in B2B platform ARR, due to a mix of new logo generation and upsell and cross-sells into the existing customer base, partially offset by a decline in B2C ARR.

The quarter ended with ARR of $22.5 million, up 7.8% year-over-year as B2B ARR increases more than offset a modest decline in B2C ARR (see the Company’s definition of annual recurring revenue below).

Transaction revenue was $6.8 million, compared to $7.3 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025. The decrease was due to lower paid order volume. The transaction active customer count for the quarter was 1,323, compared to 1,338 customers in the prior-year quarter (see the Company's definition of active customer accounts and transactions below).

Total gross margin improved 200 basis points from the prior-year quarter to 53.0%. The increase was primarily driven by the continued revenue mix shift to the higher-margin Platforms business, including the expansion of the gross margin for that business.

Total operating expenses were $5.6 million, compared to $5.1 million in the fourth quarter of 2025. The increase was primarily related to higher sales expenses and up front investments in AI that were partially offset by reduced general and administrative expense.

Other expense for the quarter was approximately $0.2 million compared to other income of $1.2 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025. Prior year results included a $1.1 million favorable adjustment related to the final determination of the Scite earnout.

Net income in the fourth quarter was $666,000 or $0.02 per diluted share, compared to $2.4 million, or $0.07 per diluted share, in the prior-year quarter. Adjusted EBITDA was $1.4 million, compared to $1.6 million in the year-ago quarter (see definition and further discussion about the presentation of Adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP term, below).

Full-Year Fiscal 2026 Results

Total revenue was $48.3 million compared to $49.1 million in fiscal 2025.

Platform subscription revenue for fiscal 2026 was $20.8 million, a 9.8% year-over-year increase. The increase was primarily due to organic growth in the core B2B platforms, including 105 net new B2B platform deployments. The increase included incremental AI related ARR of $0.8 million.

Transaction revenue was $27.5 million, compared to $30.1 million in fiscal 2025. The decrease was due to lower paid order volume, particularly in the second and third quarters of fiscal 2026.

Total gross margin improved 260 basis points from the prior year to 51.9%. The increase was primarily driven by the continued revenue mix shift to the higher-margin Platforms business.

Total operating expenses for the year were $21.5 million, compared to $21.7 million in fiscal 2025. The decrease was primarily related to reduced general and administrative and stock compensation expenses, partially offset by higher sales and marketing expenses.

Net income for fiscal 2026 was $2.8 million, or $0.09 per diluted share, compared to $1.3 million, or $0.04 per diluted share, in the prior year. Adjusted EBITDA was $5.8 million, compared to $5.3 million in fiscal 2025 (see definition and further discussion about the presentation of Adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP term, below).

Fiscal Fourth Quarter and Full Year Financial and Operational Summary Tables vs. Prior-Year Quarter and Full Prior-Year

Active Customer Accounts, Transactions and Annual Recurring Revenue

The Company defines active customer accounts as the sum of the total quantity of customers per month for each month in the period divided by the respective number of months in the period. The quantity of customers per month is defined as customers with at least one transaction during the month.

A transaction is an order for a unit of copyrighted content fulfilled or managed in the Platform.

The Company defines annual recurring revenue ("ARR") as the value of contracted Platform subscription recurring revenue normalized to a one-year period. For B2C ARR, this includes the annualized value of monthly subscriptions, meaning their monthly value multiplied by twelve.

Use of Non-GAAP Measure – Adjusted EBITDA

Research Solutions' management evaluates and makes operating decisions using various financial metrics. In addition to the Company's GAAP results, management also considers the non-GAAP measure of Adjusted EBITDA. Management believes that this non-GAAP measure provides useful information about the Company's operating results.

The tables below provide a reconciliation of this non-GAAP financial measure with the most directly comparable GAAP financial measure. Adjusted EBITDA is defined as net income (loss), plus interest expense, other (income) expense, foreign currency transaction (gain) loss, provision for income taxes, depreciation and amortization, stock-based compensation, and other potential adjustments that may arise. Set forth below is a reconciliation of Adjusted EBITDA to net income (loss):

Such statements may concern our current expectations about our future results, plans, operations and prospects and involve certain risks, including those related to: the government contracting industry generally; our dependence on contracts with U.S. federal, state and local, and international government clients for the majority of our revenue; failure by Congress or other governmental bodies to approve budgets and appropriations in a timely fashion, reductions in government spending, and the impact of a lengthy federal government shutdown; the current Administration's policy changes, executive orders, and failure to spend Congressionally mandated appropriations, including the resulting effect on government audits and contract terminations; changes in federal government budgeting and spending priorities; our ability to estimate and control costs under our fixed-price contracts; the realization of our backlog; the dependence of our commercial work on sectors of the global economy that are highly cyclical; and our ability to acquire and successfully integrate businesses. These and other factors that could cause our actual results to differ materially from those indicated in our forward-looking statements are described in the "Risk Factors" section of our Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2025, and in our subsequent filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The forward-looking statements included herein are made only as of the date hereof, and we specifically disclaim any obligation to update these statements in the future.

With nearly 20 years of experience protecting mobile devices and more than seven years developing protection for foldable devices, Spigen brings decades of design expertise to Apple's most innovative iPhones yet.

Apple's first foldable iPhone introduces new protection challenges, particularly around its hinge. Drawing from years of hands-on foldable development and testing, Spigen created a collection engineered specifically for the unique demands of the device.

- Ultra Hybrid MagFit: A crystal-clear case featuring Air Cushion Technology for edge-to-edge protection that keeps Apple's original design on display.

- Nano Pop MagFit: A soft, minimalistic silicone case featuring textured side grips for added comfort and secure hold, available in colorful designs to make the Duo pop.

iPhone 18 Pro & Pro Max Collection

For users looking to protect Apple's latest flagship iPhone, Spigen offers several styles designed around different user preferences.

- For the everyday minimalist: The Ultra Hybrid MagFit delivers crystal-clear protection with a polycarbonate back and TPU bumper, while the Nano Pop MagFit pairs a soft-touch silicone finish with textured side grips for a secure hold.

- For the design enthusiast: Ultra Hybrid Neo One features a 3D, tech-inspired design showcasing the components beneath the surface, while Spigen's new retro-printed C-One cases draws inspiration from the iMac G3 with its iconic translucent look.

- For someone who wants a premium feel: Enzo Aramid T uses lightweight aramid fiber for slim, weightless protection, while Spigen's Tough Armor T combines XRD foam with Air Cushion Technology for military-grade drop protection.

Spigen's latest Apple collection extends beyond cases:

- AluminaCore EZ Fit Screen Protector: First introduced last year, the AluminaCore EZ Fit Screen Protector is engineered to be slimmer, clearer, and significantly more durable, delivering 3× the strength of standard tempered glass.

- Classic LS for AirPods Pro: A protective case inspired by the iconic Apple Macintosh mouse, featuring a retro locking mechanism designed to mimic the classic "mouse click."

- WBF0 Apple Watch Band: A soft, lightweight fabric band designed for all-day comfort, featuring a secure hook-and-loop fastener and subtle blue stitch and patch design accents.
