RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Donate Life America (DLA) is pleased to announce Madison Walter-Garcia, MPH, CHES, as its next President & CEO, effective September 21. Walter-Garcia will succeed David Fleming, who is retiring after more than 30 years of leadership.

Walter-Garcia brings a rare combination of public health expertise and behavioral science training to DLA's mission. She holds a Master of Public Health from Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health with a concentration in behavioral science and health education, a background that speaks directly to DLA's mission of educating, inspiring and activating the public to say yes to registering their decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor.

For nearly a decade, Walter-Garcia held progressively senior partnership and policy roles at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), most recently serving as Associate Director for Partnerships in the Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases. Across her time at CDC, she built partnership programs from the ground up, cultivated relationships with more than 1,000 stakeholders, and led a gift portfolio through the CDC Foundation exceeding $30 million. During the COVID-19 response, she directed partnership operations for the Vaccine Task Force, coordinating hundreds of stakeholder engagements that reached millions of people nationwide.

"Madison's experience working at the intersection of public health, policy, and partnership development makes her uniquely suited to lead Donate Life America into its next chapter," said Alexandra Glazier, JD, MPH, DLA Board Chair. "Her track record of building trust with diverse stakeholders and translating complex public health goals into real action with measurable results is exactly what this moment calls for."

Walter-Garcia's career has centered on a consistent thread: bringing people and institutions together around shared public health goals, from coordinating federal agencies and Congressional stakeholders to cultivating multi-million-dollar philanthropic support for critical programs. She now brings that expertise to a new mission, growing public trust in organ, eye and tissue donation and ensuring every donor's legacy is honored.

"I am honored and energized to join Donate Life America at such an important moment for this cause," said Walter-Garcia. "Public trust is the foundation of everything this work depends on. I look forward to strengthening that foundation alongside our Donate Life State Teams and their members, partners, and the entire donation and transplant community, so that even more patients waiting for a lifesaving transplant can have hope."

"This mission is personal to me," Walter-Garcia added. "My father is a living liver donor to my sister and I've seen firsthand what that gift of life means for the entire family, not just for the recipient. I carry that with me every day, and I'm honored to help carry this cause forward for the millions of families who understand that same hope."

Macabacus Brings AI-Powered Content Review Directly into PowerPoint Decks

Deck Check AIR extends financial model and deal document review capabilities in the leading M365-native productivity platform for finance and professional services teams.

NEW YORK, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Macabacus, the leading M365 productivity platform for finance and professional services teams, today announced the launch of Deck Check AIR (AI Review), an AI-powered presentation review tool built directly into PowerPoint.

With as many as 62%* of teams reporting they have shipped an AI-generated error in financial models and deal documents to clients, it has become even more critical to effectively review deal documents. Deck Check AIR uses generative AI to audit accuracy across all slides in a PowerPoint presentation, going beyond formatting to flag miscalculations and logic inconsistencies that damage credibility. It was built specifically to review complex financial documents, such as pitch books, investment committee memoranda, M&A consequences analyses, portfolio reviews, and board materials.

"We are deploying generative AI to ensure every deal document is ticked and tied when it is shared with a client or decision maker," said Charlie Schilling, CEO of Macabacus. "As AI is used more and more to create models and decks, we are using the same technology to minimize the risks of inconsistent or hallucinated content in high-stakes deliverables where our clients can't afford to be wrong."

Deck Check AIR is embedded directly within PowerPoint, so analysts and associates are not forced into a separate tool or app and is compatible with Anthropic, OpenAI, and Gemini models, enabling clients to use their existing LLMs to power their presentation review. This allows them to manage their token usage while keeping their data secure. Macabacus does not use client data to train its AI models, and it does not see, store, or retain any client's intellectual property.

Deck Check AIR is now available to add to Macabacus Enterprise license deployments.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries to Invest KRW 1 Trillion in Future Engine and SMR Businesses
Image File

- New 3 GW power generation engine production facility to be built in Ulsan, targeting full-scale operations in 2028

- Dedicated manufacturing facility for key SMR equipment to be established; global SMR market projected to grow to 150 GW by 2050

- "We will secure core competitiveness in power generation engines and SMRs to lead the global AI infrastructure market"

SEOUL, South Korea, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- HD Hyundai Heavy Industries disclosed on the 10th that it will invest a total of KRW 1.0722 trillion to build a new power generation engine production facility and a dedicated manufacturing facility for small modular reactors (SMRs).

The investment is aimed at strengthening the company's future competitiveness in land-based power generation engines and SMRs.

First, the company will invest KRW 833.6 billion to build a new 3-gigawatt (GW) production facility for its HiMSEN engines in Onsan-eup, Ulju-gun, Ulsan.

The new production complex will span approximately 215,000 square meters and include an engine assembly and testing facility, a crankshaft machining facility, and an engine block casting facility. Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of next year, with completion targeted for May 2028 and full-scale operations to commence thereafter.

The investment is designed to accelerate HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' expansion into the land-based power generation market by leveraging decades of expertise accumulated in marine engines and proactively responding to surging power demand from AI data centers.

Through the expansion, HD Hyundai expects to secure annual production capacity of 4 GW for land-based power generation engines. The company will also improve production efficiency by operating separate production bases for HiMSEN engines.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' main Ulsan facility will focus on HiMSEN engines for marine applications, while the new facility and HD Hyundai Engine in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province, will specialize in HiMSEN engines for land-based power generation.

HD Hyundai expects the increased production efficiency from this dual-base production structure to expand its total HiMSEN engine production capacity for both marine and land-based power generation applications from the current 3 GW to 7.2 GW by 2030.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries will also invest KRW 238.6 billion to establish a dedicated manufacturing facility for key SMR equipment, with SMRs increasingly recognized as a next-generation energy source. The facility will be built on the premises of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' Ulsan shipyard, with completion targeted for the first half of 2029.

SMRs are next-generation nuclear reactors that generate less power than conventional large-scale nuclear plants and use modularized key components. They offer the advantage of providing a stable supply of electricity while helping reduce carbon emissions. Interest in SMRs has been growing rapidly amid the increase in AI data centers, which require large amounts of power around the clock.

According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the global SMR market is projected to grow rapidly to 150 GW by 2050. Meanwhile, only a limited volume of key SMR equipment has so far been secured for manufacturing and supply, indicating significant potential for future growth.

"This investment is aimed at securing core competitiveness in power generation engines and SMRs, which are emerging as new sources of electricity in the AI era," an HD Hyundai Heavy Industries official said. "We will proactively respond to rapidly growing power demand and take the lead in the global AI infrastructure market."

Earlier this year, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries made a full-scale entry into the U.S. data center power infrastructure market by signing power generation equipment supply contracts with Aperion Energy Group and Corban Energy Group in April and August, respectively, valued at KRW 627.1 billion and KRW 956.0 billion.

Midea podkreśla swoją czołową pozycję w technologii R290 i prezentuje zrównoważone innowacje HVAC na targach IFA 2026

BERLIN, 10 września 2026 r. /PRNewswire/ – Podczas targów IFA 2026 firma Midea zaprezentowała najnowszą gamę ekologicznych i zrównoważonych rozwiązań w zakresie ogrzewania, wentylacji i klimatyzacji (HVAC) oraz zarządzania energią, potwierdzając swoje zaangażowanie w realizację idei „Zielona wizja, błękitna przyszłość".

Rozwój zrównoważonych rozwiązań grzewczych i chłodniczych dzięki technologii R290

Zaprojektowana z myślą o instalatorach konstrukcja systemu upraszcza konserwację, natomiast funkcja zdalnej diagnostyki umożliwia technikom zdalne wykrywanie i rozwiązywanie problemów, ograniczając liczbę wizyt serwisowych i koszty konserwacji. H-Pack obsługuje zarówno hybrydowy, jak i w pełni elektryczny tryb ogrzewania, zapewniając europejskim gospodarstwom domowym większą elastyczność i efektywność.

Midea zaprezentowała również PortaSplit w realistycznie zaaranżowanym wnętrzu typowego europejskiego mieszkania. PortaSplit wyróżnia się prostotą instalacji, wysoką wydajnością i cichą pracą, dzięki czemu pozwala użytkownikom uniknąć kosztownych prac instalacyjnych, a jednocześnie zapewnia komfortowe warunki we wnętrzach.

Prezentację uzupełniał MHELIOS - rozwiązanie Midea do zarządzania energią w domu. System, zaprezentowany w typowym otoczeniu mieszkalnym, optymalizuje magazynowanie i zużycie energii na podstawie dynamicznych cen energii elektrycznej, co pozwala ograniczać koszty i wspierać stabilność sieci elektroenergetycznej. MHELIOS zachowuje zgodność z § 14a niemieckiej ustawy o gospodarce energetycznej (EnWG) i łączy w jednym systemie ładowarki do pojazdów elektrycznych, pompy ciepła, instalacje fotowoltaiczne oraz magazyny energii, aby maksymalizować wykorzystanie czystej energii przy jednoczesnym zachowaniu komfortu domowników.

Dzięki innowacjom obejmującym zrównoważone czynniki chłodnicze, inteligentne rozwiązania w zakresie ogrzewania i chłodzenia oraz zintegrowane zarządzanie energią Midea niezmiennie pokazuje, w jaki sposób innowacje technologiczne mogą łączyć odpowiedzialność za środowisko z codziennym komfortem, a zarazem wspierać realizację długoterminowych celów Europy w zakresie zrównoważonego rozwoju.

The conclusions indicate that EcoVadis is amongst the eight firms that demonstrate the most advanced supply chain sustainability software capabilities, notably through EcoVadis Vitals and the enhancement of assessment and scoring tools with a regulatory monitoring lens, simplifying supplier reporting and improving auditability.

The report also states that EcoVadis capabilities serve small-to-medium and large enterprises by integrating sustainability assessments with procurement and finance priorities, strengthened with partner-led, on-site audits and worker voice tools that support human rights due diligence efforts.

In addition, EcoVadis is recognized for the value of its Carbon Data Network, supporting supplier carbon emissions management through its Carbon Action Manager, which integrates with specialized solutions such as carbmee, CO2 AI, Normative, Sweep and Watershed, enabling primary GHG data to flow directly into Scope 3 calculations and procurement workflows.

"Being named a Leader again confirms the direction we have taken. Our platform moves at the pace of an AI-first market, and our sustainability analysts review the assessments it produces before they reach a customer. In supply chain risk, speed without verification creates exposure, not insight. AI at scale combined with expert validation is what buyers are asking for, and it is what we will keep building" said Pierre-François Thaler, co-founder and co-CEO of EcoVadis.

The report's own conclusion, that the vendors who win combine sustainability expertise with AI, integrations and partnerships, is the case for EcoVadis: we're not trading speed for rigor, we're building both into the same platform.

What this means for global procurement leaders:

- Audit-ready reliability: Regulatory compliance requires verifiable evidence. Expert analyst oversight catches AI errors before they reach a scorecard, so the result is built to withstand scrutiny from regulators, investors and enterprise buyers.

- Continuous model fine-tuning: The specialized sustainability analysts do more than review data. They train and ground EcoVadis' domain-specific AI models, extending automated capabilities to complex global value chains.

- Verified network trust: Supply chain transformation relies on multi-tier collaboration. A verified assessment ecosystem builds trust across buyer and supplier networks in a way fully automated solutions have yet to demonstrate.

"The increasing prominence of data-related challenges in supply chain sustainability signals an evolution in organizational priorities, as firms move beyond reporting obligations to focus on operationalizing sustainability at scale. This transition requires organizations to embed sustainability into daily decision-making processes, increase supplier engagement, and invest in digital tools that support robust, decision-grade sustainability insights across the supply chain," said Elisa Molero, Senior Analyst at Verdantix.

62% of financial services professionals say an AI-generated error has reached a client

New Macabacus report finds AI adoption has outpaced the guardrails needed to keep client-facing models and documents accurate.

NEW YORK, Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Macabacus, the leading M365 productivity platform for finance and professional services teams, today released the report: GenAI for Financial Services: Velocity and Verification. The report finds that AI now sits at the core of model creation and client presentation development, but most firms lack the review and verification layer needed to catch AI-generated errors before they reach clients.

Drawing on a survey of Macabacus' 75,000 users and analysis of conversations with hundreds of clients and prospects, the report quantifies the gap between how fast AI is being adopted and how slowly firms are building guardrails to ensure their clients can trust their deal content.

"AI is now involved in the majority of models and documents that reach clients, with 87% of firms saying they use AI daily or weekly for this work," said Paul Ross, Chief Marketing Officer, Macabacus. "Deal teams should not slow down their use of AI. They need guardrails that let them move faster while maintaining accuracy and their clients' trust. That is what Macabacus is built for."

Key findings include:

- 62% of respondents believe an AI-generated error has reached a client or internal decision-maker in the past 12 months, with 46% saying an error has "probably" landed in a deliverable without anyone catching it.

- 87% use AI daily or weekly to generate financial models and client presentations, but only 23% have comprehensive guardrails (approved tools, accuracy checks, brand compliance, and review workflows) in place.

- AI has created a divergence in confidence at the review handoff stage for models and presentations: 43% of analysts and associates say AI has made them more confident in their work, while only 29% VPs, directors, and MDs state the same. That leadership group is also 6 points more likely to say AI has made them less confident.
