Plainview – November 03, 2026 -- ZBS Group LLP has acquired the tax and accounting practice of Joseph Rabinowitz, CPA, the fourth CPA practice succession in which Michael Zaidman, CPA and financial advisor, and his team have been selected as successor. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Rabinowitz stays on through the transition period
Rabinowitz will work alongside the ZBS team after closing to facilitate client introductions and maintain service continuity. He said identifying a successor who could preserve client relationships while adding resources was his central priority.
The practice serves individuals, families, and businesses. It will complement ZBS Group's existing tax and accounting capabilities, and its clients gain access to a larger team spanning tax, accounting, and financial and investment advisory services.
ZBS ties tax strategy to financial advisory in its pitch
ZBS positions its differentiator as coordinating tax preparation, accounting, investments, and financial planning rather than treating them as separate disciplines. For advisory clients, that can mean attention to tax-efficient investing, investment and account structure, and consolidating professional relationships. Tax and accounting clients get access to additional capabilities if their financial needs expand.
Succession experience from both sides of the deal
Zaidman said the firm's task is to protect what Rabinowitz built and keep the transition seamless. "Every successful transition starts with trust," he added.
The source notes that CPA transitions carry challenges beyond valuation and deal structure, because clients may have used the same accountant for decades. ZBS says it has handled these transitions from both the retiring practitioner's and the client's perspective.
The deal also fits ZBS Group's stated strategy of partnering with CPA firm owners seeking a long-term home for their practices, with a focus on transitions where client relationships and service quality can be preserved.
