Bambu Lab H3C: Nine-Tool 3D Printer Switches Filament in 6 Seconds

Austin, Texas – November 03, 2026 -- Bambu Lab's new H3C desktop 3D printer keeps nine print tools loaded and pre-heated, so it can change materials in under 6 seconds. It goes on sale today at the Bambu Lab Official Store for US$2,499 (excluding tax, shipping included) or €2,499 in the EU (including tax), in the AMS Combo.

Nine tools replace the load-and-unload routine

The H3C is the company's first third-generation printer and its first built around a dedicated tool-changer. Each of the nine tools in the Swaptek system has its own filament path and heating element. Reading the upcoming G-code, the printer starts heating the next nozzle while the current tool finishes its segment. A short priming sequence then brings the new filament back to the model with minimal waste.

During printing, a Retractable Rack folds the guide tubes back. According to Bambu Lab, this clears the view of the part, reduces vibration, frees Z-axis height and stops the tubes from striking each other. Automatic docking, tool-offset compensation and full bed-leveling run before every print.

FlexFeed prints TPU as soft as 75A

The FlexFeed extruder switches between 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm filament on the fly. A dedicated 2.85 mm path keeps soft TPU rigid under pressure, allowing up to three times the flow rate of a classic printer. Bambu Lab points to shoes, wearables, flexible hinges and soft-robotic parts as uses.

AMS 3H dries filament while the printer works

All nine spools sit in AMS 3H, a sealed chamber that protects filament from moisture. Its built-in dryer heats to 85°C during printing, which suits PA, PC and carbon-fiber blends. Attaching an original AMS to tool 1 expands the system to 24 materials, and optional AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT units add drying capacity.

A 40% lighter head reaches 1,400 mm/s

The motion platform is 40% lighter than its predecessor. It reaches accelerations of 25,000 mm/s2 and speeds of 1,400 mm/s. Every nozzle, from 0.2 mm to 0.8 mm, is hardened steel rated HRC 55+ for abrasive filaments such as carbon fiber and glass fiber.

The chamber heats to 65°C, and each tool reaches 350°C. A four-layer cooling system includes a CFD-engineered part-cooling fan, two side-chamber fans, a tool-head fan and a rear chamber fan.

Five filaments can mix into near-full-color gradients

Because a color change takes only 6 seconds, the H3C can blend near-full-wheel gradients from five base filaments (CMYKW). Bambu Lab's PLA Palette pairs opaque cyan, magenta, yellow and white with one translucent black. The opaque bases transmit under 1% of light at a 2 mm wall.

Users can also mix nozzle sizes in one print, such as a 0.2 mm nozzle for fine detail and a 0.4 mm nozzle for bulk. Soft TPU and harder engineering polymers can share a single part.

Optional accessories are sold separately

A Bird-eye camera adds a second live viewpoint. The Bambu Station raises the printer and adds storage. The Bambu Lab E1 Air Purifier syncs with the H3C and starts filtering VOCs, PM2.5, ultrafine particles and micro-plastics when a print begins.
