INDIANAPOLIS – November 03, 2026 -- Remodel Health and Lively have launched the Remodel Health HSA, which lets employees choose a health plan under a CHOICE Arrangement (formerly ICHRA) and open a health savings account in one enrollment flow. Employers that administer a CHOICE Arrangement through Remodel Health can add the account to their benefits package now.
HSA enrollment moves into the CHOICE plan-shopping flow
HSAs are not new, but the product connects HSA selection and enrollment directly to the CHOICE Arrangement shopping experience. Remodel Health handles CHOICE Arrangement strategy, individual plan selection, compliance and year-round employee advocacy. Lively runs the HSA side, including the mobile app, debit card, reimbursements and investing.
The companies say separate benefits systems leave employees without the guidance to link the plan they pick to the account that goes with it, and that this costs them potential savings. The HSA also extends the Remodel Health platform beyond medical insurance premiums to other out-of-pocket medical expenses.
Remodel Health puts average employee savings at 25%
Remodel Health CEO Austin Lehman said employees who fund medical expenses through payroll save an average of 25%, and that employers save 7.65% in FICA tax. He cited the Peterson-KFF Health System Tracker, which found the typical non-elderly family spends $1,400 a year on out-of-pocket medical costs.
HSA balances can grow through interest and investments in mutual funds, exchange-traded funds and stocks. Unspent funds roll over from year to year and stay with the employee.
New legislation lifts Remodel Health's HSA-eligible membership above 40%
Before 2026, an individual market plan qualified for an HSA only if it met federal high deductible health plan rules, and many Bronze plans did not. Recent legislation extended HSA eligibility to all on-exchange Bronze and catastrophic plans, plus their matching off-exchange plans.
Lehman said the change has moved Remodel Health's membership from about 30% HSA-eligible to more than 40%. He also pointed to Bronze copay plans that now qualify, addressing a common complaint that HSA-linked plans make basic doctor visits and medicine expensive.
Lively frames the deal around defined contribution shift
Lively COO and co-founder Shobin Uralil said employers are moving from defined benefits toward a defined contribution strategy, and that employees are taking more control of their coverage. Pairing that choice with an HSA, he said, gives them a consumer-first route to personalized care.
Remodel Health says it serves more than 100,000 members nationwide and is the largest administration partner of CHOICE Arrangements. Head of Product Bill Williams said the platform and Lively's HSA work as one connected experience, backed by service teams for employers and employees.
The package includes a connected CHOICE Arrangement and HSA experience, plus a debit card and a mobile app for tracking balances, submitting claims and managing cards. Employers preparing 2027 benefits can evaluate the product now.
